An Unforgivable Love Story

Page 27

by B. L. Berry

You, dear reader, allow me to have a voice and give these incredibly flawed characters that live in my mind the room to breathe. My sanity thanks you.

Out of all the books in existence, thank you for choosing this book and taking a chance on an unconventional love story.

Thank you for spending your precious time with my words.

And most importantly, thank you for supporting indie authors.

I would be ever so grateful if you took a few moments to leave a review for An Unforgivable Love Story on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iBooks or Goodreads. It helps more than you know.

  All my love,

  BL Berry

  Acknowledgments

Writing may be a solo act, but it truly takes a village (damn, I hate that phrase).

Jenn. "Thank you" will never be enough. You’re not just an editor. But you’re a dear friend. And I love the shit out of you.

Nail Qamber … you did it again! Thank you for creating a truly stunning cover. You amaze me every time and I can’t wait to work with you again.

I couldn’t have launched this little book without the hand holding of Linda and Sharon of SFab. The SFab family works tirelessly to support Indie Authors and I am so proud and thankful to be part of their roster.

Jade Eby!!! Thank you for bringing my baby to life — you are a formatter extraordinaire! And an extraordinary friend, too. BEDROOM EYES FOREVER! Love you dearly, darlin’!

I couldn’t have done it without my favorite proofreader, Alexis Durbin of Indie Girl Proofs. Just when I think I have a clean manuscript, you prove me wrong. Your thoroughness amazes me every time!

Cat Porter and Faith Andrews … I cannot thank you both enough for helping me push this story just before deadline. Your talents are beyond incredible and thank you for giving me the tough love I needed to get this book to where it needed to be. I owe you both a big ole bottle of wine and comfy leggings.

To my league of extraordinary beta readers—Angie, Tracey, Sara, Deana, Kaitie, Laura and Marisol—WE DID IT! Actually, you did it. You read this manuscript in the ugliest, rawest form and helped me make sense of it. You shaped this story in all of its unforgivable glory right along with me. Be prepared for the biggest of bear hugs the next time our paths cross.

To all of the blogs who have supported me over the years and have helped with this release — thank you for all that you do, not just for me, but for the entire Indie community. A special shout out Schmexy Girl Book Blog, Three Girls and a Book Obsession, A Book Whore’s Obsession, E-Reading After Midnight, Kylie’s Fiction Addiction, The Divas Book Lounge, and Book Slapped -- thank you for being in my corner.

When I first started writing, I never imagined the friendships that I’d gain on this journey. How lucky am I to met you, Tracey Murphy? You’ve talked me off the ledge, pushed me over the edge, and caught me before my sanity crumbled. I love you to bits! You’re stuck with me.

I am so lucky to have such remarkable author friends — especially Stephanie Rose, Ryleigh Andrews, Isabelle Richards, Leylah Attar, Adriana Locke, Rebecca Yarros, Mia Kayla, Kennedy Ryan, Cat Porter, Faith Andrews, MC Decker, Kimberly Rose, J.A. DeRouen, Lori Otto (LAWNMOWER!), Eleanor Green, Celeste Grande, Elisabeth Grace, Mandi Beck, Seth King, Amy Roe and the entire Indie Chicks Rock Tribe. You are the fuel that keeps me going and your support means more than you’ll ever know. (I also hate knowing that I have inadvertently left someone off of this list … I’m sorry!)

A truckload of thanks to Laura Murphy and Becca Hensley M. for your Top Gun knowledge and useless trivia — it turned out to be pretty useful!

Countless thanks to Mrs. Larsen, my third grade Language Arts teacher at St. Bernard Academy in Nashville, TN. She started the Young Writers Club and hand selected me to be one of the original members. Those meetings planted the seed and no one ever could’ve predicted I’d grow up to write books.

To the Candyman for making me change a character just before deadline. May the world forever know that goldendoodles and sheepadoodles make the perfect friends, white russians are most certainly not a sissy drink (when made by you in exorbitant crystal tumblers) and that you have above average-sized junk. I am so lucky to have such incredible friends as you and Captain Badass. Thank you for allowing me immortalize your awesomeness in between the lines.

To my Monster Squad, know that you can be anything you want to be when you grow up. And you’re never too old to decide what it is you want to be. Mommy loves you more than all the stars in the sky and more than all of the unicorns ever imagined.

And saving the absolute best for last, my husband Mike … thank you for giving me the kind of love that people write romance novels about. Sometimes we fight hard, but we love even harder and that’s what matters the most. Without you, everything in my life would be incomplete. Never mind the fact I’d probably be hungry and wearing dirty clothes, too. I love you. I love you. I love you.

  About the Author

BL Berry grew up telling lies. Eventually, those lies turned into elaborate stories and when she grew older she started writing them down. When she’s not hiding behind her computer writing, you can find her spending time with her family or catching up on her favorite TV shows. Rumor has it she’ll sleep when she’s dead.

Residing outside of Kansas City, she lives with her husband, two children and black pug. Each day her family thanks the makers of e-Readers, because without which they would be living amongst stacks and stacks of romance novels. Conversely, each day B.L. Berry thanks the makers of e-Readers for hiding her book-hoarding tendencies.

BL Berry loves to hear from her readers — you can connect with her at blberrywrites@gmail.com, or on Facebook, Twitter - @blberrywrites and Instagram @blberrywrites.
