Campy (Ballsy Boys Book 4)
Page 26
When I see Jackson sitting on the couch, staring at his phone with indecision on his face, I stop dead in my tracks just to stare at him for a few seconds. He looks up at the sound and meets my eyes, his uncertainty morphing into a shy, hopeful smile.
“Cam.” Somehow, he makes my name sound like a prayer as I cross the apartment in three quick steps and scramble into his lap, kissing him soundly.
“Please tell me you meant it, that it wasn’t just something Katie told you to say.” My heart beats faster even considering the idea isn’t true. I want it to be true, more than anything.
“I meant it,” he vows, his arms tightening around my waist. “I love you so much, Cameron. Maybe I went about sayin’ it wrong yesterday, but I wasn’t trying to give you any of that stuff out of pity or charity, it’s because you’re my heart and my future. As far as I’m concerned, everything I have is yours too, because that’s what you do when you love someone.”
Hearing those words makes me feel even worse about how I reacted yesterday. I fiddle with his shirt, having a hard time meeting his eyes. “I’m sorry I was such a dick. I got scared and that’s no excuse, but it’s the truth.”
“What were you scared of?”
“That I wasn’t good enough for you and that you’d give me everything and then realize how much better you could do, and then what would I do?” I confess.
“You are so wrong about that, darlin’. You’re incredible and worthy.”
I finally meet his eyes again, and I see nothing but truth. And love. I don’t even think twice as the words spill out of my mouth.
“I love you, Jackson.”
With his hand on the back of my head, Jackson pulls me into a kiss that starts out slow and sweet but quickly boils over as tongues slide against each other, hot and wet as we fuck each other’s mouths, our hands tugging blindly at clothes without making any progress, both our own and each other’s, and our cocks growing hard, pressed together through our jeans.
Jackson drags his lips away from mine, kissing along my jaw and down my neck.
“Let’s take this to the bedroom,” I suggest.
He wraps his arms tighter around me and stands with me wrapped around him. His muscles flex under my hands and a shiver of want runs through me. No, not want…need. I need Jackson like I need air, and as much as that scares the shit out of me, I have no doubt I can trust him because he needs me in the same way.
He drops me on the bed and we both struggle out of our clothes, only breaking our kisses when absolutely necessary, drinking each other in like water in the desert. When his bare skin slides against mine, goosebumps erupt all over my skin and I moan into his mouth. Our hard, leaking cocks line up and we thrust against each other in a lazy way, completely at odds with our frantic kissing, both craving the contact but unwilling to end things too soon by getting off.
I run my hands over the broad expanse of Jackson’s chest, his hair coarse under my palms and his muscles hard as I dig my fingers into them. I wrap my legs around his waist and give in to the feeling of his cock, hard and heavy, fucking against mine.
Jackson nibbles at my ear, my jaw, my throat, moaning my name over and over, intermixed with declarations of love that I return every time. Sweat and precum slick our cocks as we writhe against each other, sucking bruises onto each other’s skin.
Eventually, our unhurried rutting gives way to faster thrusts, my hand slipping between our bodies to wrap around our erections for added friction. I arch into every thrust, the pressure of my grip and Jackson’s cock trapped against mine pushing me closer and closer to the edge. My balls tighten and I dig my fingers into Jackson’s thick bicep, his moans vibrating against my flesh and his legs quaking with each thrust.
“Cam…Cam…Cameron,” he groans out, biting down on my collar bone as his hot, sticky release coats my hand and my own cock still pumping against his, every pulse of his orgasm beating against me until I let go as well. Our cum mixes and manages to cover both of us as we continue to grind against each other through the aftershocks.
It’s not long before Jackson’s arm tires of holding him up and he collapses on top of me, burying his face against my throat and wrapping his arms around me, not seeming to care about all the sweat and cum smearing between us.
“When we get that ranch you talked about, we’ll have to make sure it’s big enough that my mom’s bedroom is far, far away from ours.”
Jackson laughs against the crook of my neck. “Deal.”
Jackson
Once again, we’re driving to Cameron’s mom, but this time, we have good news.
“I can’t wait to see her face,” Cameron says with a smile.
“Same here.”
He reaches for my hand. “That was a lucky day, that day you decided to respond to my ad for a roommate.”
He’s radiant, as if a weight has fallen off his shoulders. I guess it has, now that his secret life is over. Everything is out in the open, no more surprises. Only happiness, our happily ever after.
“Best decision of my life, darlin’.”
We’ve spent the entire morning looking at houses, which is crazy and exhilarating. Even outside the city, they’re expensive, especially if you want a bit of land like we do. But we saw some options that would work for us, and I’ve made a quick list of things we need to research.
“I love you,” Cameron says for maybe the twentieth time this morning.
It’s as if he’s held it in for so long, it needs to come out now. I’m not complaining, mind you. There’s no way I’ll ever grow tired of hearing those words.
“You’re my heart, Cam,” I say, lifting his hand up and pressing a soft kiss on the back of it. “I’ll love you forever.”
He sighs with contentment and we ride in silence for a while.
“You do realize I made you curse again yesterday, right?” he then says, and I groan.
“Shut up,” I say with a grunt.
He laughs at me. “I love making you curse.”
I shoot him a side-eye, then surrender to the truth. “I love it when you make me curse.”
His mom is, as always, happy to see us. She’s looking a sight better, has gained a little weight, I think.
“We have some great news, Mom,” Cameron says.
He’s helped his mom onto the couch, where’s she’s comfortably settled under a thin blanket.
“I was hoping that would be the case, seeing as how you hightailed it out of here after this one,” she waves at me, “made such a romantic declaration of love.”
I’ve never seen Cameron blush, but he does now, both his cheeks growing red. “Aw, darlin’, don’t be embarrassed,” I say, reaching for him.
He grumbles a little but allows me to pull him on my lap, his mom beaming with that show of love.
“I love your son very much,” I tell her, and that makes her smile even bigger. “And seeing as how I want nothin’ more than for him to be happy, we’re gonna find ourselves a home outside the city. Something a little more country and quiet, where Cam can have his animals and where I can ride.”
“I’m gonna quit porn, Mom,” Cam says, and I watch as her eyes fill up. “And Jackson is gonna pay for my degree.”
“Oh Cameron, that is wonderful news. I’m so happy and proud that you’ll be realizing your dream,” she says. “I’ll never stop being grateful for what you did for us, but it’s time to put that behind you and look to the future.”
He nods. “I have every intention of being happy. Annoyingly happy,” he says with a laugh.
“And we’d be honored if you’d move in with us, as soon as we find something suitable,” I say. “We want to have you close so we can be there if you need us.”
She’s crying now, big, happy tears that speak volumes. Her hand shakes as she stretches it out to me, and I take it with care.
“You chose well,” she says, and at first, I think she’s talking to Cameron. But then she looks at me with such motherly pride, that it makes my heart hurt, an
d I feel myself tear up as well. “You picked a wonderful man, Jackson, and I’m glad to see you taking such good care of him.”
“He deserves it, ma’am,” I say, and I mean every word.
“Call me Ma,” she says, and then I lose the battle with my tears.
She looks at me a bit worried, but Cam wraps his arms around me and hugs me tight. I miss my mama something awful right now, and all I wish is that I could share this moment with her. I say as much to Cameron in between some deep breaths that are close to sobs.
“Maybe someday you can,” he says quietly. “But for now, maybe text Brax so he can celebrate with us?”
And that’s just what I do. We huddle on the couch, the three of us, and take a selfie. I send it to Brax, with the news that we’re moving in together. When he texts back with the cheeky question which of the two will share my bed, I know that all will be right in the world.
Epilogue (Cameron)
Sweat trickles down my back as the early morning sun beats down the back of my neck. I carefully place the eggs our hens have laid into the basket and check their feeders and water trough to make sure they have everything they need. The chickens were a recent addition and I have to say, it’s awesome to have fresh eggs every day.
Passing the field on my way back up to the house, Jackson’s horse, Walker, whinnies at me.
“I don’t have any apples with me, I’ll bring one back for you before I leave for school,” I promise her, receiving an unimpressed snort in response.
I take a deep breath of the fresh air and smile as a familiar peace settles over me. I spot Jackson standing on the front porch with a steaming mug in his hand and a smile on his lips that mirrors mine.
“I thought you had to be on set this morning,” I say as I jog up the steps, stopping to give him a kiss.
“Nah, in the afternoon. They’re filmin’ some scenes I’m not in this mornin’.”
“Well, if I’d known that, I would’ve stayed in bed a little longer,” I tease, sneaking my hand under his shirt.
“Then who would’ve fed all your pets this morning?” he jokes back, smirking against my lips.
“They’re not pets, they’re livestock.”
“Darlin’, I know farm animals and I assure you, these are pets. If you give them names and regularly kiss them, they ain’t livestock.”
“Are you complaining?”
“Never,” he assures me with another kiss.
When I remove my hand from his stomach, Jackson takes it with his free hand, running his thumb over the ring on my left ring finger. He surprised me with the proposal on my birthday last month, although the only surprise was that he managed to wait a whole year before insisting on putting a ring on it. At least, that’s what Brax said when we called to tell him.
“After class, I’m meeting with the guys for an early dinner, do you want me to bring something home for you?”
“Nah, maybe I’ll rope Ethan into grabbin’ a bite with me.”
The guys were understandably disappointed when I left Ballsy, but we still get together often to hang out. There was nothing funnier than the look of panic on Bear’s face when they all came out to the ranch and Pixie asked to ride one of our horses. And, I often see Brewer and Tank on campus now that I’m taking classes full time to work toward getting into vet school. And, of course, I still work at the rehab center, but only part time still, thanks to school.
“You know what I was thinking?”
“What’s that?” Jackson asks.
“We should have the wedding here. All those venues we looked at last week were fancy and all, but they really weren’t us.”
“I like that idea. We could set up a tent in the back for it.”
“That sounds perfect.”
“It really does,” Jackson agrees, giving me one more kiss. “Absolutely perfect.”

More About K.M. Neuhold
Author K.M. Neuhold is a complete romance junkie, a total sap in every way. She started her journey as an author in new adult, MF romance, but after a chance reading of an MM book, she was completely hooked on everything about lovely—and sometimes damaged—men finding their Happily Ever After together. She has a strong passion for writing characters with a lot of heart and soul and a bit of humor as well. And she fully admits that her OCD tendencies of making sure every side character has a full backstory will likely always lead to every book having a spin-off or series. When she’s not writing, she’s a lion tamer, an astronaut, and a superhero…just kidding, she’s likely watching Netflix and snuggling with her husky while her amazing husband brings her coffee.

More About Nora Phoenix
Would you like the long or the short version of my bio?
The short? You got it.
I write steamy gay romance books and I love it. I also love reading books. Books are everything.
How was that?
A little more detail? Gotcha.
I started writing my first stories when I was a teen…on a freaking typewriter. I still have these, and they’re adorably romantic. And bad, haha. Fear of failing kept me from following my dream to become a romance author, so you can imagine how proud and ecstatic I am that I finally overcame my fears and self doubt and did it. I adore my genre because I love writing and reading about flawed, strong men who are just a tad broken..but find their happy ever after anyway.
My favorite books to read are pretty much all MM/gay romances as long as it has a happy end. Kink is a plus… Aside from that, I also read a lot of nonfiction and not just books on writing. Popular psychology is a favorite topic of mine and so are self help and sociology.
Hobbies? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Just kidding. I love traveling, spending time near the ocean, and hiking. But I love books more.
