A Mistress for Penndrake

In the middle of the room, he let go of Kate’s hand. “Turn around,” he instructed, receiving a curious smirk.

  “Why?”

“I’d like to play a game.”

She hesitated but did as he’d asked and turned around.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out the silk mask she’d found in his bedchamber. He bent to kiss the tender flesh under her earlobe. Her small shudder gave him such pleasure and satisfaction.

Then, her body tensed and her hands flew up to her face and over his hands as he placed the mask over her eyes.

“Nathaniel?” her quiet voice trembled. He loved the sound of his Christian name on her lips.

  “I’ve got you,” he whispered.

  …

Kate touched the silk mask with her fingertips. In the encompassing darkness, her senses heightened. She heard his quick and shallow breath as he shifted around her. She smelled the warm and spicy scent of skin and the crispness of the autumn air on his clothes.

“Are you afraid?” he asked, his voice husky and deep.

“Not when I’m with you.” With him, her fears diminished or became bearable. She took from his strengths, and he took from hers, making them both stronger together.

Eager to feel him again, she reached out and found him a few inches away.

Her breath caught in her throat as her fingertips glanced across his naked chest. At some point, he had removed his jacket, his waistcoat, and his shirt. She wanted to see him and started to lift the mask away from her eyes when he stopped her.

“Not yet,” he whispered against her lips.

She exhaled, her heart fluttering with impatience and nervousness. Too curious to wait until she could see him, she glided her hand over the smoothness of his skin until her fingers slid to the rough scar on his right shoulder.

She began to pull away when he flattened his palm over her hand, keeping it in place. She wanted to cry for what he’d suffered to keep what he loved.

“I’m sorry for this,” she said, shifting her hand away and lifting up to bring her lips to the raised and furrowed skin.

“Kate,” he half moaned, half whispered, hooking his finger under her chin to bring her mouth to his. His kiss left her dizzy and impatient to be with him.

  “Now?” she begged.

“Yes,” he said before scooping her up into his arms and carrying her a few steps.

He set her down on the soft bed. In front of her, the air shifted, and she raised her palm and felt the tapered line along his waist. Bold and curious, she leaned in to lay several gentle and lingering kisses on his muscular abdomen.

She continued downward until she felt the buttons of his trousers. She paused, unsure of what to do until his hand fell over hers, guiding her to undress him.

Her heart pounded while her body tightened and pulsed. His buckskin breeches fell away, landing on the hardwood floor with a soft ruffle. Still unable to see her surroundings, she reached out and gasped at what she found.

  “Kate,” he rasped.

Too curious to pull away, she wrapped her small hand around his thick and solid erection, eliciting an anguished grunt. Excited by the sound, she bent forward to draw her tongue across the tip of him.

  “Jesus!”

She tasted the warm and slick liquid as she continued to roll her tongue up and down his long shaft. He grew harder, causing him to flex and cradle his palm on the back of her head. Her heart lurched, wanting nothing more than to share more of this pleasure with him. Unable to see, only to hear his husky groans, she drew him deeper into her mouth. Using her hands, lips, and tongue, she pleasured him with steady and rhythmic strokes. Just when she felt his muscles clench, he growled and gently pushed her back onto the bed.

“My turn,” he whispered in a throaty tone. He undressed her with agonizing slowness, causing a shiver to send goose bumps down the length of her naked body. Pressed into the mattress, he nuzzled her neck, touching his tongue to the delicate skin below her ear. She lifted her body closer to his, absorbing his warmth.

Too eager to gaze upon his handsome face, she lifted her hand to pull away the mask.

“Oh no,” he warned, grasping her wrists in a gentle hold and lifting them above her head. He didn’t let her go, taking his time to press lingering kisses across her jaw, the base of her throat, and down past her collarbone.

As the cool air swirled with his masculine scent, his tongue flicked over her nipples, turning them into hardened peaks. She trembled where he touched her, the hunger of wanting him growing deeper and stronger.

She writhed and arched upward, crying out when his fingers parted her, and his tongue flicked over her sensitive flesh. Her hips jerked at the incredible sensations swelling inside her. It grew stronger, building at a wondrous and exquisite pace until she fell into an abyss of convulsing pleasure.

Dazed, she felt the bed shift and the mask lift away from her. She adjusted her eyes to the dim silvery light of the room. Lord Wesley hovered above her, his green, brown, and blue eyes passionate and hungry.

He parted her thighs, lowering to capture her lips in a devouring and breathless kiss. She matched his fervor until the ripping pain between her hips forced her to stop and bury her mouth against his throat.

“Kate,” he said winded, pausing only long enough for her to catch her breath. She clung tight to him, her fingers digging into his muscular arms.

“I’ve got you,” he whispered, beginning to withdraw and enter her again with slow and rhythmic thrusts. She held onto him, staring into his rapturous face, trusting him, loving him.

He shifted over and against her, rubbing at her core and driving her to the blissful place once again. She felt herself lifting as he gripped her hips and pushed deeper inside her. She arched her back, her body filled with the overwhelming need to let go.

She believed he felt it, too, as his arms wrapped around her back, bringing them closer. She rose to meet him, eliciting from him a groan and a curse. Together they climbed, riding to the peak of their perfect and harmonious journey. At the end, she cried out, still enfolded in his arms. He followed her, his muscles tightening and his body convulsing until he collapsed on top of her.

He lay still for a moment, his heart pounding in unison with hers. After he’d caught his breath, he lifted his head and brushed back the damp tendrils from her face.

“You are my life, Kate, and I never want to know another moment without you.”

She smiled. “As long as I breathe, you will never have to, my lord.”
