The Wayward Son

Judd’s pupils dilated, consuming the blue of his irises, as she straddled his legs and began to gently stroke his body with a feather-light touch that made his skin jump and heat beneath the soft pads.
“I love you, Judd Wilson,” she whispered against his skin as she lowered her mouth to repeat the trail her fingers had taken, and punctuated each word with a press of her lips.
“I love you, too, Anna Garrick. I want to marry you. I want to do this right. Will you be my wife?”
“Judd, you don’t need to marry me. I know how you feel about your parents’ marriage. I don’t need a formal union to know you love me.”
Judd reached for her and rolled with her, tucking her body beneath him. He cradled her head between his hands.
“I mean it, Anna, I want to do right by you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, make babies with you and raise those babies to be wonderful people. People who know their parents are right there behind them, through everything.”
“Are you sure, Judd? We can do all that without marrying.”
“I know, but I want to marry you. I want the world to hear my pledge to you and to know that you will be mine for all time.”
Anna lay beneath him, feeling the warmth of him, the strength of him, the passion within him, and she knew she wanted it, too. She raised a hand to trace the lines of his beautiful face, letting her fingers settle on his lips as she reached her decision.
“Yes,” she answered tremulously. “Yes, I’d be proud to be your wife.”
“Thank you.” He rested his forehead on hers and closed his eyes. Anna could feel the tension easing from his body. “I will make sure there is not a day that goes by that you regret it.”
“I’ll hold you to that,” she said with a soft smile.
And then words were redundant as they showed one another the reaches of the physical manifestation of their love. Anna cradled him with her body, her legs parting to allow him to nestle at the core of her. She felt the blunt tip of him nudge at her opening, felt him slide inside. She tightened around him, welcoming his possession. Judd raised himself slightly, his eyes locked with hers as he began to move, at first slowly and then with increasing rhythm, never once losing focus.
Pleasure began to build inside of her but it was different than before. This time they were so much more connected—mind, body and spirit. And when she began to shake with the intensity of her orgasm, she felt him tremble also until with a raw cry he spilled himself within her. Making love had never felt so right or so perfect. A tear slid from the corner of her eye as emotion overwhelmed her.
He was her man, her love, her forever. And she was his.
