Born Again

He flicked his hips, rubbing himself against her incredibly sensitive G-spot.

  “Sweet?”

She pushed him from her and turned him onto his back. Her eyes caught his and she slowly slid down his body, keeping his gaze, wanting to see his expression. Needing to see his emotions, now that it was his turn. “Aric, do you think I could be here like this, with you and not love you too?”

  “You love me?”

  “I love you, lots.”

She took him into her mouth and his eyes widened. His skin was velvety smooth in her mouth and his thighs quivered beneath the press of her palms. She reveled in the power she felt over him, especially when he tossed his head back and moaned thickly, “Serra. I love you too.”

He thrust wetly into her body again, his thrusts more frantic this time as he tasted her lips. When he exploded, it was Sara’s name he called out.

  * * * * *

Beau was to pick her up today. He and Aric had decided it last night while they locked up her apartment. She found it a little puzzling to be shifted after such a brief time, but she pushed it to the back of her mind. It didn’t matter, either way, she got to be with the man she loved.

After re-showering Aric’s scent from her, she dressed and waited on the front porch to make it easier on Beau. He wouldn’t have to enter the house of vampires to retrieve her. His sporty black car pulled into the driveway and she slid into the front seat with him.

Beau was unusually quiet until they got to his house. Tossing his keys onto the table in the entryway, he casually turned toward Sara. “What’d you do at Aric’s yesterday?”

  “I had an orgy.”

  Beau’s mouth dropped.

“Maybe that wasn’t the most tactful way to put it,” she amended. “But I want to be open with you. I don’t want you to be surprised by any aspect of my personality.”

“I didn’t know you were into…orgies. I half expected you would refuse, though I’m okay with it. I hoped I’d made that clear.”

“I’m not. At least, I wasn’t. But I doubt that the experience will be my last.”

“Most vampires are bisexual, you know.”

  “What’s your definition of bisexual?”

  “Sleeping with both sexes.”

“I don’t consider it bisexual. I think of it as, I don’t know, just a good time.”

“Would it bother you to watch Aric with another man?”

“I honestly don’t know. He hasn’t hinted that he’s that way with other men. And while I thought it would bother me if he said that he wanted to be with another woman, I found that watching him with Francesca there was actually a turn-on.”

  “Francesca. What’s she to him?”

“Just a vampire friend of his. Of mine,” she amended. “My best friend actually, although I don’t remember her from long ago.”

“I remember her from back then. She was human when I knew her, I haven’t spoken to her since she was turned. Why are you telling me all this, Sara?”

“I don’t want you to be disappointed when you find this all out.”

“How could I ever be disappointed in you? Do you know how long I’ve searched for you? High and low? Can I possibly describe the years of loneliness and frustration? Disappointed? Never.”

“You don’t find it distasteful that I’ve shared a man with another female?”

“Baby, I might like to watch. If you’d ever want to sleep with another one, I’ll find a willing werewolf.”

Sara had the thought hit her that maybe Beau needed sex with a vampire to help him get over his prejudices against Aric. He’d avoided them for centuries, maybe he needed to see they were people too? He didn’t mind Francesca before she was turned, maybe he needed to be with her now that she was a vamp so that he could see she was still the same?

“It occurs to me that you’re a little bit prejudiced against the vampires.”

“Yes, I suppose I am,” he admitted.

“But my lover,” she said and watched him wince, “and my friends are vampires. Maybe you just need to be around them more.”

She felt the heat that rose in the room. His face flushed darkly and his eyes glittered. “Maybe you just need to be around more werewolves.”

At that moment, it dawned on Sara that she didn’t know any other werewolves but Beau. It also dawned on her that maybe he was talking about another ménage à trois.

“No, I have enough lovers going on.”

“Vampire lovers,” he snarled, his voice harsh. For some reason, he was unusually short-tempered today, but Sara wasn’t frightened.

“I can’t help it if they happen to be vampires. But I have enough lovers no matter the species.”

“So I don’t get to benefit from the same joys that Aric does?”

“Yes,” she said, her voice calm, contrasting with his. “You can join us at any time.” She turned abruptly and walked away.

With a vicious snarl, he was upon her, yanking her back to him with a rough hand on her arm. “Don’t walk away from me.”

His voice was deeper, gravelly and she felt the beginnings of alarm twist through her midsection.

“Take your hand off me, Beau.”

“Too late, baby. You raised the wolf and he wants you now.”

Sara looked into his eyes, a flickering of apprehension on her face. Indeed, his eyes had changed, the pale blue disappearing until they were black pools of darkness.

“Now, Sara, I can be myself with you.” Beau cocked his head to one side. His eyes glowed, an amber glow of wolf, making the enlarged pupils even more enormous.

Sara shivered and began to inhale deeply, great gulping gasps of air.

“I smell your fear, Sara,” he growled and ripped her blouse from her torso.

She pulled away, covering her bared breasts with her hands. “Don’t, Beau.”

“Don’t refuse me. You had an admitted orgy with your vampires, don’t you dare refuse me after that.”

“Don’t refuse me. You had an admitted orgy with your vampires, don’t you dare refuse me after that,” he said, all while pulling her into the bedroom.

He pushed her roughly onto the bed, removing her hands from covering her breasts. Her hands sprung right back into place. “I want to see them,” he growled. “Play with your nipples.”

  “No.”

“Do it,” he yelled hoarsely and she knew he was on the brink of losing control of his temper.

She elongated her nipples, pulling on the pink tips gently. Lust flooded his face, making his eyes appear heavy-lidded and suddenly she felt powerful. She could do this to a dangerous, on-the-edge-of-change, werewolf. Her touch softened and she cupped her breasts fully, then moaned deliberately as she plucked at her tips again.

Beau unsnapped her jeans, pulling them from her body in one sleek move. A tiny waist with curvy hips met his gaze and he knew if he reached out to stroke her skin, it would be soft as silk.

“Open your legs and let me see you,” he whispered, his voice softer now.

She obeyed. She was not wearing panties. She bent her legs at the knees and let them fall open, spreading her nether lips to his view.

She was pink-colored, matching the rosy hue of her nipples.

“Do you want this?” he muttered, his words hard again.

She was very deliberate with her nod.

  “It’ll be rough,” he warned.

“Is this because of the moon?” she asked.

“Yeah, baby. This is me, once a month.”

She let her hands drift down to the red tuft of hair below her navel, cut a path through the trail of hair and slowly traced her tender folds of skin for him. He hissed and let his eyes stay on the slickness of her body.

“Mmm,” she murmured. “I like it. It’s different.”

“But it’s rough,” he said, trying to make his point.

  “Once during the month, right?”

  “Yeah.”

“I’ll have plenty of time to recover.”

>   He sheathed himself then reached out with suddenly hard fingers, the nails digging into the smoothness of her thighs and pulled her to him, slamming their groins together.

His fingers delved into her flesh and she wondered if she’d have fingertip bruises on her hips as he grabbed them and jerked her forward.

His condom-sheathed cock filled her, stretching her tightly over the width of him. Without giving her a chance to protest, he slammed into her again.

Sara scooted backward and just when he would have growled at the loss of her swollen sheath, she turned over onto her hands and knees and pressed her cheek to the mattress.

She spread her legs, aimed and waiting for him.

  Beau whispered hoarsely, “Serra.”

“Did you say rough, my love?” she murmured throatily and tilted her hips so she was more exposed for him.

“I’ll give you rough,” he promised.

She clenched her eyes, waiting for the harsh treatment that she’d prepared herself for and was unexpectedly surprised when he spread her and laved his tongue there instead.

“Beau, oh, Beau,” she moaned, shuddering. Her head popped up from the mattress, her knees were weak and she was delirious with need.

“Relax, baby. Head down,” he instructed.

As soon as she obeyed, he slipped his tongue into her again.

As if oral loving wasn’t erotic enough, having his face fit against her backward was a feeling she couldn’t describe. His hands spread her open and his tongue lapped at her, reaching below for her clit, occasionally brushing it but then returning to concentrate more fully on plunging into her body. Wet and warm and wonderful.

Suddenly, she couldn’t stand it. “Beau,” she screamed, over and over as her body released. Wave upon wave of pleasure flowed through her skin, her muscles, her bones, growing stronger with each ripple, leaving her wrung out and replete. Her body quivered afterward and her muscles felt weak from exertion.

Beau flipped her over, onto her back and spread her legs, bending them at the knee. Without giving her any recovery time, he delved into her sensitive folds again.

“You’re mine, Sara. Understand that? Mine,” he muttered, while licking her mercilessly.

His tongue flicked upward, rewarding her overly sensitive clitoris, over and over and then he clamped his lips down and sucked the nub of flesh.

She jerked beneath him, her body needing completion.

He gave her what she needed. He sucked it, fast and rhythmically until she came again. She closed her eyes and cried out, the pleasure so intense the second time around it was nearly pain.

She ran her hands up over his muscular arms and biceps and the muscles felt larger than before. Was he in his change? Sara struggled to open her eyes, but he flipped her onto all fours before she could.

“No, don’t look,” he instructed. “Facedown on the mattress again.”

As her cheek rested against the cool silk of the sheets, he ran a finger down the cleft between her buttocks, all the way down to the other side.

“Dammit, give it to me,” she demanded.

He chuckled. “You’re impatient, wench. And I’m in charge here,” he reminded her.

She never felt him rise but suddenly he ripped into her, slamming into her upturned body with a force so powerful it nearly caused her to explode. When she almost collapsed, he grabbed her hips and lifted her bodily onto his thrusts. Her vision literally wavered before her eyes and the fireworks filled her body from the hot, honeyed warmth of her sex outward, spiraling up until it could reach no more.

She collapsed and Beau caught her in his arms, cradling her gently before her vision blackened.

  * * * * *

Sara awoke to the sound of Beau’s doorbell reverberating through the huge house. Beau slid from the cool sheets, pulling his sweats on as he strode from the room.

She stretched languidly and then jumped quickly from the bed also.

Her muscles screamed at her, unused to the positions she’d been stretched into earlier. She smiled.

It was a pleasant ache, a constant ache to remind her of the most incredible sex she’d just had with her werewolf. She grabbed one of Beau’s starched white dress shirts from the closet and buttoned it quickly. Then she tiptoed to the top of the stairs so she could eavesdrop on Beau and see who was at the door.

  Uniforms.

Police. They were seated in the study which she could overlook from the balcony, with both Aric and Beau.

The stark black of their polished boots, the crisp, dark blue of the uniforms with the glittering gold of their badges and the squeaks and squawks of all their equipment.

Panic struck Sara. In all that had occurred in the last couple of days, she’d forgotten that Aric and Beau had killed Mike and disposed of him.

And the last one to see him alive had been her. They must be here to question her again.

“…he was extremely jealous of Sara,” Beau was saying. “I began to date her and it seems,” Beau squirmed uncomfortably, “that Mike had his sights set on me, no matter what my orientation.”

“…she admitted she saw him. We’ve spoken to her and she said he dropped soup off and left. Now we find she’s quit her job and moved from her apartment,” the older officer said.

Beau nodded. “She’s distraught with all that’s happened. I moved her in here with me and I meant to let her old boss know, but it slipped my mind with all that’s going on.”

The police were being extremely agreeable and Sara suddenly realized why. Aric sat staring intently at them—had been since he’d brought them.

Now he sat, his gaze locked on them as if he used a form of mind control on the wooden officers.

“Any idea where he might be?”

“From what I understand,” Beau said slowly. “There was another woman that lived in Sara’s building who was extremely jealous of Sara. She was trying to use Mike as competition against Sara, which is why I moved Sara out.”

  “Competition how?”

“Sara performed psychic readings for the tenants of her building. Mike claimed to be a psychic also, so Mattie was trying to steal her business, claiming a percentage of Mike’s earnings.”

“What is the woman’s full name?” one officer asked, leaning in with his notebook in hand.

  “Mattie Webb.”

Sara wondered how Beau knew. She was also puzzled by the way Aric leaned in, the same way as previously, total concentration on his face.

The officer looked robotic, oddly serene, a strange, wooden expression on his obviously manipulated face. “We spoke to Mattie Webb. She didn’t know Mike Johnson and claimed to not even know Sara Michaels, although she’d seen her around the building from the picture we produced.”

“She’s lying,” Beau said simply. “Mike was actually bisexual and in a relationship with Mattie.”

Now Sara knew Beau was manipulating the story. There was nothing bisexual about Mike, he was all the way gay with the added benefit of being an all-around woman-hater. Mattie was the strong-willed kind of woman he’d detest, if he’d ever met her.

“Did she invite you into her apartment?” Beau asked.

“No, she came out into the hallway to speak with us.” The younger officer seemed to stop and think about that.

The older officer stood. “Thanks for the new lead, Mr. Pierson. We’ll investigate this again.” He turned toward Aric. “Need a ride back home, Mr. Ishee?”

Beau spoke before Aric. “That’s fine. I can have a car take Aric home later. We’re business associates and planned to meet later today anyway.”

The younger officer said snidely, “Business associates seeing the same woman?”

Instantly, his face resembled clay again, the features morphing into smoothed relaxation. Aric had leaned forward with his gaze.

“Jealousy speaking. I’ve seen Ms. Michaels and even sick with the flu she was a most beautiful woman, inside and out. Thank you for your time.”

  He stood and Beau walk
ed both zombied officers to the door.

After closing the heavy door and locking it, he called out to the top of the stairs.

  “You can come out now.”

Sara walked down the stairway, slowly.

Aric’s face looked slightly stunned at the sight of her, barefoot and lean-legged in Beau’s crisp, white starched shirt that hung to the top of her thighs.

Step by step she glided, hair tousled and her lips swollen. There was a slight whisker-burn strewn in various places across her neck and visible through the open throat of the shirt. A woman well loved and his lips tightened.

  “Sweet,” he muttered.

Beau didn’t say a word when Aric stretched out a hand and pulled her to him. He hugged her briefly and pressed a desperate kiss to the top of her hair.

Beau couldn’t say a word, not when he thought of how he’d react in Aric’s situation. Sara was luscious and languid, like a cat basking in the sun after a meal of pure cream. A woman well loved just hours previously. That was the only reason his jealous wolf was kept at bay. Finally, the beast was satisfied with the wild, rough sex they’d shared.

And he knew, with Aric’s senses as sharp as his own, that she smelled of wolf loving.

  “Let’s sit,” Beau said abruptly.

He decided he couldn’t sit across from Sara, not with the expanse of those smooth long legs before him. Instead, Beau sat on the sofa, right next to her and Aric, and didn’t even flinch when Aric draped his arm over her shoulders, coming dangerously close to touching his shoulder.

Instead, Beau took her other hand in his and brought it to his lips.

“Were the officers asking those questions, or was Aric manipulating their thoughts? ‘Cause that’s what it looked like from the top of the stairs,” she asked. She was trembling and Beau knew it wasn’t from the cold.

“Sara, what are you afraid of, love?” He regretted showing her his violent, wolf side earlier. It was too soon, especially after the problem with Mike. Knowing about his inner beast and seeing it were two different things altogether.

“You two killed him, didn’t you?” she asked, her voice a whisper.

“Of course not,” Beau said, shocked.

“Sweet, we have become just as civilized as you over the centuries,” Aric said, amusement on his face. “We no longer go around like cavemen, bashing skulls with rocks when someone offends us.”
