Your Secret Is Safe

I could have sworn I heard the room sigh around us.

“Thank you, again for saving me,” I murmured.

And as his hand fisted my hair, I felt his head pull away from my neck.

His lips crashed against mine, and the room gasped. That, I was sure of. I didn’t care, though. Our tongues fell together, and nothing else mattered. His hand cupped my cheek. His arms cloaked my back. Tears of happiness fell down my cheeks as our foreheads touched. I smiled as I gazed into his eyes. He grinned at me before he moved me to his side.

Then, with his arm around me, his voice filled the room.

“I’m in love with the princess. With your daughter, King Teyelu. But if I’m not the one she’s going to be with, the very least you can do is marry her off to a good man instead of a corrupt one.”

“I’m not marrying anyone else, Father,” I said.

  “You’re not?”

I looked over at Collin. “No, I’m not.”

I saw my father step toward us in my peripheral, and I whipped my head around. But my mother held out her arm. Holding him back.

“Now this looks like the eyes of a girl in love,” my mother said.

I snickered. “I admit that I lied to you in the beginning. When I initially told you two Collin and I were engaged. That we were in love. But…” I looked back over at him and found him grinning at me. “But I’m not lying now. I love Collin. And I want our engagement to be real, if he’ll have me.”

“And I don’t get a say in all this?” father asked.

“Pipe down, Teyelu,” Mother said sternly.

“Will you have me, Collin?” I asked softly.

And as he stood in front of me, blocking out the rest of the room with his body, he smiled.

“You’ve made all my dreams come true. I love you, Teyela. Of course, I’ll marry you.”

Then his lips captured mine as he picked me up.

  Chapter 19

  Collin

“You’re filthy from that prison,” Teyela said.

The water battered against our naked bodies in her shower as she scrubbed the dirt from my skin.

“Not really the cleanest place, no,” I said.

“You never should’ve been in there.”

I turned around. “I’d do it ten times over for you. Any day of the week.”

She smiled as the sponge touched down against my chest. But I didn’t want the feeling of that sponge against me. I gripped her wrist, taking it from her. Then I tossed it to the floor. I walked her back into the tiled wall. I pinned her wrist above her head. And as her dark eyes captivated me, my lips fell softly against hers.

  “I love you,” she whispered.

I pressed my body against hers as our lips softly morphed together. Our tongues did battle. Dancing around as her body shivered against mine. I wrapped her in my arms. I sank to the floor of the shower. She straddled my lap, her pussy unfurling for me as I kissed down her neck. Across her shoulder. Down her breasts so I could suckle her nipples into painful peaks.

And as she slid along my growing girth, I felt my cock sink into her.

“I love you so much,” I grunted.

Our bodies became one. Her sounds melded with mine. Her pussy clamped against me, massaging my cock as I rolled up into her beautiful form. Her nails raked along my skin. I whipped her around and settled her against the shower floor, watching trails of water pour over her sultry skin.

Not once did we take our eyes off one another.

My movements grew fierce. She locked her legs around me. I felt her orgasm against me as I raked my tightly wound curls against her clit. She clung to me, and the feeling made me whole again. She kissed me, and my heart settled into place. And every time her pussy pulsed around me, I felt closer to her. Part of her. More in love with her every single second.

  “Collin. Please.”

  “Teyela. I love you.”

“I love you. Don’t stop. I love you. Don’t stop.”

“Never. I’ll never stop. I’ll always be here for you.”

I pounded against her hips. I felt mine stuttering as she gasped. Her lips captured mine as we fell over the edge, her pussy milking my dick. Threads of hot come fell into her body. My balls curled tightly between my legs. I collapsed against her, shielding her from the assault of the water. And as her hands slid down my back, my muscles twitched.

  Shivered.

  Puckered, at her soft touch.

“Thank you for saving me,” she whispered.

My lips found the shell of her ear. “I’ll always protect you. No matter what.”

“I don’t know what I did to deserve your adoration.”

“You were just you. And for me, that’s enough.”

She paused. “Why did you really move to the island, Collin?”

I slid out from between her legs and gathered her into my arms. Sat her in my lap. Felt the hot water beating against me as the steam surrounded us. Did I tell her? Would she freak out?

Better late than never, I guess.

“I moved here for you,” I said.

  Teyela paused. “For me?”

I nodded. “Love at first sight. I never believed in it until I saw you.”

  “You—really?”

“Mhm. Everything I did ever since I got to the island was to either get closer to you, protect you, or make you smile. In whatever capacity I could.”

  “Are you serious?” she breathed.

“Dead serious. But I never imagined I’d be lucky enough to win your heart.”

  “Oh, Collin.”

Her lips fell against mine as she curled tighter into my body.

  “Collin,” she whispered.

“I promise to protect you. To cherish you forever. No matter the cost. No matter what. No matter where life takes us or where we end up.”

I heard her sniffle and nuzzled her cheek. Brushing away her tears with my nose.

“You were so unexpected. And yet, I feel like the luckiest woman on Earth when I’m in your arms,” Teyela said.

“Maybe the luckiest woman, but not the luckiest person. I hold that title, Princess.”

  She giggled. “You’re so crazy.”

“Crazy for you. I love you. For everything you are. Despite your title and your kingdom.”

She nodded. “I know. I know you do, Collin.”

“Because while you might be a princess in this world. To me? You always have been—and always will be—the Queen of my heart.”

  Six Months Later

“Thank you for taking my advice on the wedding planner,” Mother said.

“So long as you know that Collin and I want a small ceremony on the beach, I’m willing to make the compromise,” I said.

“You know the island is going to want to celebrate with you.”

“But it is not their wedding. It is mine.”

My mother and I sat there, waiting for the royal wedding planner. Because things had quickly snowballed out of hand, even for me. I didn’t want to deprive my mother of the joy of planning my wedding. But even she had lost track of the things that needed to be done.

“What time are Collin and Teyelu—”

  “There they are,” I said.

My father and Collin appeared, which brightened my entire morning. And as they walked in together, they each came to sit beside us. It took my father a while, but he finally came around to things between Collin and myself. After a few terse talks and a lot of arguing, my father finally backed down and gave his approval for this wedding.

And it turned out that Collin had some wonderful ideas on how to push my father’s progressive agenda forward.

“Sorry, I’m late,” Father said. “Collin and I got caught up in my office.”

  “Sorry we’re late,” Collin murmured.

“I take it you’re still working with those connections in Hong Kong?” I asked.

“Actually, we’ve moved onto the States,” Father said.
“But they’re proving to be a bit more difficult than Hong Kong.”

“I’m working on them, though,” Collin said. “I’ve got strings I can pull and favors I can cash in.”

“Well, let’s put all this work talk behind us because we have a wedding to plan,” mother said.

Collin wrapped his arm around me, and I leaned against him. And as my head fell against his shoulder, my mind ripped me back in time. What it took to get here. What it took to get my father and my fiancé back on good terms. And mostly, it was due to the jailing of the Prime Minister himself. Being found guilty in our courts of exactly what had been revealed at that stupid engagement ceremony.

That helped my father move past things a lot.

“Oh!” my father said. “I have news. The new Prime Minister is still willing to work on the airport. I have a meeting with her at two o’clock this afternoon.”

  “Teyelu,” Mother groaned.

“Would you like some company at the meeting?” Collin asked.

“I was actually going to ask you to attend with me,” Father said. “I’m thinking that if we can show your connections in the States that we can work with this new female Prime Minister, that it will help our reputation in their eyes a great deal.”

“I’ll be there by your side,” Collin said.

Now, if things would come together with this wedding like they had for everything else.

“Has the wedding planner arrived yet? Because I don’t think you can plan a wedding without the maid of honor.”

“Nor!” I yelped her name as I lunged out of my chair. I ran toward her, wrapping her up tightly in my arms. Oh, my gosh. Nor was here. On Anuwana soil. I hadn’t seen her in months, even though my father had lifted her ban.

“How’s the family project going?” I asked.

“It’s going just fine,” she said. “Have you set a date for the wedding yet?”

“We need help. Lots of it.”

“That’s why I’m here. Come on.”

“Do we have an official date for the wedding planner?” Father asked.

“We’re hoping to pull things together before the end of the year,” Mother said.

I groaned. “I don’t want to wait that long to marry Collin.”

“Especially if you don’t want to be bulging with a child by that point,” Nor said.

Everyone gasped, and my eyes widened. I looked over at Collin and saw his face sink. My father slowly stood as my mother cupped her hand over her mouth. And I furrowed my brow in confusion.

“What are you talking about?” I asked.

Nor shrugged. “What? I can tell these things about a woman. I got the talent from my mother. And judging by the way you’re holding yourself and how your hips are swaying, I’d say your around two months along? No sooner than six weeks, though.”

I shook my head. “No, no. Not possible.”

  “Pregnant?” Collin asked.

“Teyela, look at me,” Nor said.

I gazed into the eyes of my best friend as my hands settled on my belly. I considered her words as my mind rushed back. Going back through the weeks. Trying to figure out when my last period was.

“I could be late,” I said.

“Or you could be pregnant,” Nor said.

“There’s been a lot of stress.”

“And maybe some fun to relieve that stress?”

“You can stop that kind of talk now,” Father murmured.

“Is it even remotely possible, Teyela?” Mother asked.

The room fell silent as all eyes hooked onto me. I looked over at Collin and watched him stand. He came over to me, wrapping his arms around me. He drew me into his arms and kissed my lips softly. I melted into his embrace. My mind swirled with so many things at once.

“Is it possible it could be true?” he murmured.

I sighed. “We’d have to get a doctor to confirm things. But I think so?”

Mother squealed, and Nor clapped her hands. I heard my father chuckling as Collin smiled down at me. He captured my lips. Cupped my cheek. Held me closely to him with his free arm as my knees weakened. I’d never get tired of his kiss. Of the way he held me with such tenderness.

“I thought I couldn’t get any happier, but I was wrong,” he murmured. “I can’t wait to start a family with you, Teyela.”

I blinked back tears. “You’re not upset?”

  “Not even a little bit.”

And as I hugged him tightly around his neck, I laughed.

“I guess that simple ceremony on the beach is looking better and better, huh?” I asked.

Then as my father’s laughter filled the room, Collin pulled me away from his body. He fell to his knees, kissing my stomach as my mother gasped in shock. His hand splayed against my body. I ran my fingers through his hair. And as I smiled down at him, his whispered words ignited my heart.

Making me fall in love with him all over again.

“I love you, little one. If you’re in there. If you’re real. I love you, and I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure you’re happy, safe, and sound.”
