When Cali’s water broke, we all started to freak out. I grabbed her hospital bag while Sienna helped her to the car. I sat in the backseat with her, trying to keep her calm. Sienna called Buster multiple times before she finally called Sketch. We got to the hospital before them. The nurses got her into a room quickly. Now we’re waiting for the doctor to come in to check how far she’s dilated. The door opens and all our eyes shoot up. Buster rushes in.

“Shit, babe, I’m so sorry. Is everything okay? I didn’t miss him coming, did I?”

“Calm down. He hasn’t come yet. We’re waiting for the doctor to come in,” Cali tells him calmly.

“Now that he’s here, we’ll go hang out in the waiting room.” I nudge Sienna, gesturing for her to follow me.

“Sketch is out there.” Buster pulls a chair next to the bed so he can sit with Cali. I smile at the two of them. I can’t believe they’re about to be parents. I wonder if I’ll have kids of my own someday.

“A penny for your thoughts?” Sketch’s voice pulls me from my thoughts.

I grin at him. “I’m thinking of how happy I am for them and how excited I am to meet that baby boy.”

“Having a baby in the clubhouse is gonna be a huge change.” He chuckles.

“That baby is going to have each and every one of you big, bad Savages wrapped around his finger.” I giggle.

His eyebrows raise. “You think so?”

  “I know so.” I give him a half-smile.

He pulls me into his arms. I instantly wrap mine around him. Leaning into me, he places a kiss on my lips. He sits, pulling me into his lap. Shade shows up shortly after.

  “Did I miss anything?”

“No, she’s still in labor. It could be a while,” Sienna tells him.

Shade turns to us. “Get a room or something.”

  Sketch and I laugh.

“Get used to it, brother. I’m not keepin’ my hands off her just because you’re around,” Sketch tells him.

Shade groans in discomfort, sitting next to Sienna. “Save me, please.”

She laughs at him. “Oh, babe, get over it."

A few hours go by, and more brothers trickle in. By now, I’m sitting next to Sketch instead of on his lap. Buster has had one of the nurses keeping us updated so he doesn’t have to leave Cali’s side. Each of their parents is here, too. Cali only wanted her and Buster in the room, so their parents are hanging out in the waiting room with the rest of us.

My stomach growls and Sketch gives me a lopsided grin.

  “Hungry?”

  “A little,” I admit.

“Want to go grab some food?”

“No, I can wait,” I tell him.

“I can go pick something up and bring it back.”

“I’ll go with you,” Shade says to him.

Sketch nods at Shade. “What do you want to eat, Little Bird?”

“I’m good with whatever. Surprise me.”

“What about you, Whiskey,” Shade asks Sienna.

“I’m okay with being surprised, too.” She smiles at him.

Sketch kisses the tip of my nose. “We’ll be back soon.”

  “Drive safe,” I tell them.

Thirty minutes later, they walk back in with bags of food. Sketch sits next to me, reaching into the bag and pulling out two styrofoam containers, handing me one.

“This smells fantastic.” I open it and laugh. Chicken tenders, fries, and three sides of ranch. “You know me so well.”

Another couple of hours go by before Buster walks into the waiting room with a smile a mile wide.

“I’m a dad. He’s perfectly healthy, twenty-one point three inches long and weighs seven pounds six and a half ounces,” Buster announces. He passes his phone around to some of the guys, showing them a picture. “His name is Caden Michael Brewer.”

“That’s a nice strong name,” Cali’s father says to Buster before wrapping him in a hug. Most everyone leaves after congratulating Buster. His parents and hers have gone into the room to see Cali and Caden.

“Congratulations, brother.” Sketch gives Buster a man hug.

“I can’t wait to get all the baby snuggles,” I say. “He’s adorable.”

“He gets that from his mama.” Buster grins.

“We’ll leave you to spend time with your new family. We’ll come see you in the morning,” Sketch tells him.

“Only if you bring breakfast,” Buster deadpans.

  Sketch chuckles. “You got it.”

We say our goodbyes and head back to my apartment. Shade and Sienna are staying at the house and preparing some meals to freeze to help make things easier when Buster and Cali bring Caden home. Tonight is the first night since we’ve been back in Texas that Sketch and I have gotten a chance to be alone.

We walk through the front door, Sketch locks it behind him. I turn to face him, his eyes burn with desire. I bite my bottom lip, taking slow steps backward toward my room. He cocks an eyebrow at me, stalking toward me. I turn to run down the hall but I’m stopped by strong, tattooed arms around my waist. I squeal at his touch, giggling as he pulls me close to him.

“Where do you think you’re going, Little Bird.” The heat of his breath along the shell of my ear sends a shiver down my spine. He places a kiss on my neck, right behind my ear. My eyes flutter closed. “Hmm?”

  “Nowhere, now,” I smart off.

He chuckles, turning me around in his arms. “You’re so fuckin’ adorable.”

His hands come to the back of my thighs and lift me up, and I instantly wrap my legs around him.

“You’re not half bad yourself,” I tease. My eyes fall to his lips. I nibble on my bottom lip, wanting to make the first move, but I’m nervous. His finger comes to my chin. With the slightest pressure, I lift my eyes to his.

  “Tell me what you want.”

“You.” It comes out more breathy than I intend.

He growls, walking us to my room. I pull my shirt over my head, tossing it to the floor as we walk through the door. Sketch peppers kisses over the tops of my tits. Sliding my fingers through his hair, I grab a fist full. I tighten my grip as he bites and sucks on my right boob. My head tips back, a moan falling from my lips. Trailing kisses up my neck, I loosen my grip again. I give his hair a tug, making him tip his head back a fraction and cover his lips with my own.

Sketch pulls away at the same time tossing me on my bed. He rips his shirt over his head. I scoot down the bed until I’m sitting on the edge, right in front of him. He reaches for his jeans, but I stop him.

“Let me.” I reach for the button on his jeans. Sketch inhales a sharp breath as my fingers graze his skin. I unbutton and pull them down, taking his boxer briefs, too. His dick springs free. I look at him, asking with my eyes if I can touch him.

  “You can touch it.”

I wrap my fingers around his cock, slowly moving my hand up and back down. I keep going, earning a moan from him. It gives me the boost of confidence I need. While I move my hand, I lean down and lick the tip. Sketch’s fingers tangle in my hair. I let him slide in my mouth, wrapping my lips around him.

“Oh, fuck.” He pulls out of my grip. “If I let you keep going, I won’t last long.”

He unbuttons my shorts, sliding them down my legs. Sketch gets on his knees. He pushes my panties to the side, flicking my clit with his tongue before sucking it into his mouth. My hips buck off the bed as he slides two fingers in my pussy.

  “Mmm, Logan,” I moan.

“Tell me what you want, baby.”

“You,” I say. “I want you.”

He kisses the inside of my thigh while massaging my cunt. “You have me right here.”

I groan, throwing my arms over my face. “I want you inside me. I want your cock inside me.”

“That’s my girl.” He pulls his fingers out and I miss them instantly. I peek under my arm at him at the same time he puts his fingers in his mouth, sucking my wetness off them. I watch how he opens a condom an
d slides it on. He teases my opening with the tip of his dick, before pushing himself in. He puts his weight on one elbow, and with his free-hand lifts my leg over his hip.

I slide my hand into his hair, pulling his face to mine and kissing him. I slide my tongue along his bottom lip before sweeping it through his mouth to tangle with his, moaning into his mouth.

He breaks the kiss. “I wanna hear you moan for me.”

“Logan,” I moan. I meet him thrust for thrust. “Harder, please.”

He growls into the crook of my neck but complies.

“Oh, yes!” I grip the blanket with one hand while digging my nails into his back with the other.

His thumb finds my clit and rubs. “Come for me, babe.”

I call out his name as my release hits me hard. He thrusts into me a couple more times before he follows with his release, growling out my name. He rolls off me and pulls me into him to cuddle. We fall asleep, tangled in each other's arms.

  Wren

This morning, we had a recap in the shower before going to visit Cali and Buster at the hospital. We spent a couple hours with them, getting lots of baby Caden snuggles. Sketch couldn’t stay long because he had to get to Savage Repairs to help out there for a few hours. He left me at the hospital with Mouse to escort me back to the clubhouse.

“Mouse, we need to stop by my apartment before going to the clubhouse. I need to get some clothes.”

“You got it.” He climbs onto his bike while I slip into Sketch’s car. He’s been letting me drive it since we got back. Unless I’m going somewhere with him, then I’m on the back of his bike.

With Sketch working at Savage Repairs to cover for Buster, we decided to stay at the clubhouse. It’s right by the shop and I can hang out at the clubhouse or Minx’s house while Sketch works.

When we pull up to the apartment, I invite Mouse to come in. It could take me a while to pack. As I’m packing a bag, my phone vibrates with an incoming text message. I smile, expecting it to be Sketch. My smile falls when I see it’s an unsaved number. I recognize it instantly. Zack.

From Zack: I’ve let you have your fun. It’s time to come home.

From Zack: End things with that biker trash or I’ll ruin the happy family.

With the second text was a picture of Cali, Buster, and Caden, sleeping together in their hospital room.

“Oh my God,” I mutter to myself. Ending things with Sketch is the last thing I want to do. I’m falling for him hard and fast, but I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if something happened to Caden, Cali, or Buster because of me. For a split second, I consider running again. If I did that, I would be running for the rest of my life.

With a heavy heart, I call Sketch.

  “Hey, Little Bird. Everything alright?”

“Sketch.” Tears well up in my eyes. I do my best to fight them from falling. “I’ve been thinking, and I can’t do this. I can’t do us.”

“What the hell are you talking about?”

A tear falls down my face, but I keep a steady voice. “I don’t want to be some biker whore for the rest of my life.”

“Bullshit. What’s really going on?” He growls out. “Is it Zack? What is he using against you this time?”

My words get stuck in my throat. “Logan, stop. Please don’t do this. Don’t contact me anymore. I’m sorry.”

I hang up and tears rush down my face like a waterfall. Covering my face, I sob into my hands. My heart shatters into thousands of tiny pieces. I want to call him back and tell him it was all a lie, but I don’t. I leave the bag on my bed and walk out of my room.

“Wren, what happened? Are you okay?” Mouse jumps off the couch.

“Mouse, will you have someone come pick up Sketch’s car, please?” I find the keys to my car in one of the kitchen drawers. “Stay here until someone gets it. Don’t worry about me.”

I walk out of the apartment, only stopping to grab my purse. My car is in the same spot I left it before I went to New Orleans. I climb in and sobs rack my body. I allow myself to cry for a couple of minutes before I start the car and leave. If I stick around for too long, Sketch will show up to stop me. I drive on autopilot to Zack’s, becoming more and more numb the closer I get.

Pulling into his driveway, I sit in my car for a couple minutes. I work up the courage to slowly climb out and walk to the front door. I shut down all my emotions. With my head down, I ring the doorbell. The door opens, feet come into my line of vision and I lift my head. Zack is standing in front of me, an evil smirk painted on his face.

“There’s my good girl.” His voice low and sinister. I have no problems keeping my face void of any emotions. Breaking things off with Sketch broke me. I had to do it to keep my friends safe, but it left me dead inside. “Come in. We have some things to discuss.”

My feet move on their own accord. Zack closes and locks the door behind me.

“Now . . . this is where the games stop. You’re home now and it’s time we set a few rules.” I follow him with my eyes as he takes a couple steps toward me. “First and foremost, you are not to have any more contact with anyone from that dirty biker gang. You are to be my wife within the next year, and I can’t have my wife hanging around a bunch of criminals.”

“Why me, though? What’s so special about me?”

“Because you are mine. You and your innocence were promised to me. You were payment to my father to repay your father’s debt. Now, you belong to me.” He takes another step toward me, wrapping his fingers around my neck. “And no one takes what’s mine.”

He smashes his lips on mine, shoving his tongue in my mouth.

“Go get cleaned up. We have an important dinner tonight, and I need you presentable,” Zack demands. “Your clothes are still in the closet.”

I let my feet carry me upstairs into his bedroom. This house has always been so cold and empty. It’s a beautiful house, but it isn’t a home. I get the feeling it never will be. Zack never loved me. I’m just some pawn in whatever game he’s playing. Our meeting wasn’t by chance. This was meant to happen all along.

He mentioned my innocence was promised to him. What will he do when he finds out I’m not a virgin? Will he go after Sketch? The thought sends a sharp pain to my heart. I inhale a deep breath before walking to the closet to pick out an outfit. An important dinner means I need to dress up. I pick out a blush-pink lace, floor-length, spaghetti strap dress with a thigh-high split. It's innocent while still being sexy. Something Zack is very fond of.

  Sketch

“Fuck!” I roar out, chucking my phone at the wall.

“What the hell was that?” Rascal shouts.

“I gotta get out of here.” I storm out of the shop, climb on my bike and ride.

I don’t know where I’m going, all I know is I couldn’t stick around and drown in my thoughts. Something had to have happened for Wren to break things off like that. Over the phone no less. If I find out Zack had anything to do with this, I will fucking end him. I ride around aimlessly for hours. It’s seven o’clock when I roll up to the clubhouse.

“Where the fuck have you been, and why isn’t Wren answering her phone?” Shade yells, getting in my face.

I shove him away from me. “You don’t wanna fuckin’ do that, brother.”

Sienna steps in front of Shade, pushing him back and attempting to calm him down.

“She called me this afternoon and broke things off. Said she couldn’t do this,” I growl out. “Everything was fine this morning. I don’t know what the hell happened.”

Tech clears his throat. “I might have an idea.”

  All eyes shoot to him.

  “Explain,” I demand.

“It took some time, too much time, but I found out who Zack and his family are.” Tech keeps us in suspense.

“Tech, if you don’t start talking, I’m gonna lose my shit,” I grit out.

“His father, Vincenzo ‘Big Vin’ Russo, is head of the Italian mafia her
e in the states. Zack is the youngest of five and it looks like he gets whatever he wants whenever he wants,” Tech explains.

“So what does a guy like Zack want with a girl like Wren,” I ask.

“I can answer that one.” An older woman steps out from behind Shade.

“Ma, what are you doing out here?” Shade moves out of her way. I wasn’t even aware his mom was in town. She must have arrived today.

“You were shouting about Wren and I had to find out what was going on,” she explains.

“What’s the connection between Wren and the Italian mafia?” I ignore Shade for the time being.

  “Her father,” she states.

  “Pops?” Confusion crosses Shade’s face.

“Oh, honey.” She brings her hand to his face. “Let's take this inside. There are some things I need to tell you.”

We all follow her inside. She sits on one of the couches with Shade and Sienna on either side of her, while Tech and I sit across from her.

  “Lily.” Prez greets her.

  “Hello, Bull.”

“Ma, what do you need to tell me.”

She takes a deep breath. “Steve isn’t your biological father.”

“That explains a lot,” Shade mutters. “But he is Wren’s?”

She nods her head. “I overheard him talking to someone on the phone about a debt he owed. Another time, I heard him talking about the Russos. I never knew what his debt was for nor how he was planning to pay it. He has been very secretive for the last couple of years. Now it all makes sense.”

Tech is typing away on his phone.

“We know where Zack lives, why don’t we go over there and bring her home?” Shade suggests.

“If Wren was given to the Russos to pay off a debt, he’s not gonna give her up so easily. Taking her could very possibly cause a war with the Italians,” Prez tells us.

“Would it matter if I’ve claimed her as my Ol’ Lady?” War or not, we have to get her back. Two weeks of her being mine weren’t enough.

“Her being your Ol’ Lady and Shade’s sister just means we have to go about this carefully. They wouldn’t think twice about killing her if that’s what they needed to do,” Prez explains. Pain crosses Lily’s face. I can’t imagine what’s going through her head right now. A man she was married to and had a child with, who she loved and trusted, handed over her little girl to pay off a debt. “Tech, start by tracking her phone and seeing how much of the Italian mafia are currently in town.”
