And she wasn’t just guessing. She wasn’t making wild assumptions about the male species this time. He genuinely seemed like he wanted to stay there with her. From the way his hands rested across the small table near hers to the random questions thrown her way about Holland and Germany whenever there was a lull in chatter.

Her bladder was ready to burst. All those cups of tea were really doing a number on her, and she knew the bathroom was just behind their table, but she didn’t want to get up. Still, it became harder and harder to focus on the handsome man across from her when all she could think about was relieving herself.

“I… I just…” She pushed her chair back suddenly, overcome with the need to get to a toilet before she went right there in front of him. “Just need to run to the bathroom.”

He drummed his fingers on the table. “Oh, okay…”

  “I’ll be two seconds.”

“Should I ask for the bill?”

The question stung a little, giving her some pause, and she tried to shrug it off. “Do whatever you want.”

Maybe she was wrong. Maybe she had read this whole thing wrong. Maybe he was itching to get out, watching the seconds tick by on the ornate clock behind her head, all the while asking her questions because he still felt sorry for the drunk girl from Paris.

Once she had locked herself in the bathroom stall, alone in the loo, she took a deep breath and told herself to stop being a Negative Nelly. He was a grown man, and if he didn’t want to spend time with her, he wouldn’t have asked her to have lunch with him—and he definitely wouldn’t have stayed this long.

Relief was sweet, and Natalie soon found herself in front of the bathroom mirror, drying her sudsy hands on her dress and fixing her hair. There was a soft tap on the door to her right, and she glanced back at the empty stalls. It wasn’t a single bathroom—anyone could come in anytime they wanted. Frowning, Natalie moved to open the door, wondering if she had accidentally triggered a lock of some sort, and then gasped when she found Andy looming over her. His jacket was still at their table, and before she could ask if there was something wrong (Was his card declined? Did she need to pay for everything?), he kissed her. It was sweet and gentle, just as it was last time, and Natalie closed her eyes slowly, savouring every second of contact. Her hands wandered up to his shirt collar on their own accord, and suddenly she was dragging him back into the bathroom, the door swinging shut behind them.

Natalie gripped the side of the stall, back pressed to the cool metal, as Andy deepened the kiss. Lips parted, his warm tongue swept over hers, teasing and enticing and just a little dangerous. Anyone could walk in. They’d find her up against the stall, her hands buried deep in his soft hair while his hitched the material of her dress up. She moaned as he ran his lips down her neck, his hands drifting up to her breasts. To his credit, he didn’t linger or leer or make a snide comment—Mark liked to talk about her boobs, which totally ruined the moment.

No. Don’t think about Mark. It was easier than she thought to push her ex out of her head again, enthralled with the way Andy kissed her—no one had ever kissed her like that. He wasn’t heavy on tongue, nor did she need to grope around for a towel after to wipe her mouth. His lips might have been thin, but they were supple and firm when they nipped at her neck, making the little hairs on her arms stand up. Her abdomen clenched excitedly with arousal.

Both gasped for breath when he pulled away, and he dragged her quickly toward the counter. She giggled when he hoisted her up, surprised that he could just scoop her up and plop her down with no visible strain on his face—Mark hated to pick her up. Andy ran his hands through her hair, trailing them down her body as his lips ravished hers. At this point, she didn’t care if someone walked it: she couldn’t stop even if she tried.

His hard body slipped between her knees, pressing up against her. A tingle of pleasure shot through her when he rubbed against her, her yellow sundress around her waist, legs bare. Their eyes met when he pulled back for a moment, a hand on her thigh, and when Natalie leaned in to kiss him again, he yanked her underwear down. She let out a surprised puff of air, and while she could have stopped him, she had no desire to. Instead, she lifted her hips a little, letting him yank the garment off and toss it aside.

She was trembling. Not with fear or apprehension, but with desire. Not only could Andy turn her into a shaking, needy mess in a couple of minutes, he also made her feel safe, like she was wanted. There was a comfort in his embrace that she had never felt before, one she would have never expected in the arms of a near stranger. Natalie hadn’t noticed initially, but she was quivering with anticipation, and when he slipped a finger between her wet folds, she let out a cry. Andy rammed his lips to hers to silence her, though she could feel his smile just as he could undoubtedly feel hers. Grateful that he was keeping her quiet, she whimpered and moaned against his lips when he started to pump his finger in and out of her. When he added a second, she nearly lost herself in the pleasure, grinding her sensitive bud against his palm.

Her pleasure build like spring pulled taut, and when it finally snapped, her orgasm spun through her, the coil curling back into shape. It left her weak and breathless, limbs tingling and body desperate for more. Andy wiped his hand on a paper towel, all the while kissing her tenderly.

“I can’t stay,” he murmured, forehead to hers. She trailed her fingers along his jaw, licking her lips. “I wish I could, but I have a meeting in twenty minutes, and I know I’m already going to be late.”

She nodded, not trusting her voice to come out as strong as she needed it to.

“Here.” He produced a card out of his back pocket. “This has my personal number on it… Call me before you leave. I’d… I’d like to see you again.”

“Okay.” Her response was barely louder than a whisper, but Andy still left with a smile, giving her a sweet parting kiss just as before. However, in his absence, her self-consciousness returned.

She’d just… He was practically a stranger… If anyone had walked in on them, they could have been arrested for public indecency. Sliding off the hard counter, Natalie retrieved her underwear and pulled it back on, readjusting herself just as a trio of women walked in. She grabbed her purse and bolted, almost relieved that Andy was nowhere to be seen. It had all happened so quickly. Her waitress told her that her portion of the meal was covered, and she left the bistro with a giddy, though slightly nervous, smile on her lips.

Wait until she told Sam about this.
