“What are we going to do?” Bree asked.
“I don’t know what you guys are going to do, but I’m going to take a shower and go to bed,” I announced. “And also, I’m going to work on my G.P.A, just in case.”
That’s when I heard footsteps behind me, running through the courtyard. Scared there was another attack, I turned to see what was going on.
It was Ian. And he wasn’t running from anything, he was running toward me.
I broke into a huge smile when I saw him. His face melted into true worry as he got closer and got a look at me.
“Keira, you’re alive. What did that monster do to you?”
He turned slightly to snarl at Malachai, who drew his flaming sword in response.
“You almost killed me. And Keira,” Ian said, baring his fangs. “You better watch your back. One day soon, I’m coming for you. And you’re going to need a lot more than that little toy sword to protect you, demon.”
