  But I wanted him now.

  I needed him.

Nate growled as he read my thoughts, and he withdrew his fingers as he readied himself over me.

I hooked my legs around his waist as I pulled him into me, moaning as his thick, delicious length eased into my dripping walls. He slid in with ease, stretching me as he moaned and bowed his head down to nibble on my neck. His teeth grazed my skin, and I wrapped my arms around him as I began moving with him.

“Fuck,” he breathed as he ground into me.

‘That’s the idea,’ I said smartly, and a chuckle rose out of him followed by a low moan.

I bit my lip as he repositioned himself, sliding one hand under my lower back and positioning me differently.

And then he drove into me hard and deep, and I gasped as he hit me perfectly inside.

Goddamn, that was incredible. This angle was the orgasmic win.

He let out a soft laugh against my neck as he continued thrusting into me, and I dragged my hands down his back as I gasped and moaned.

The inner ache was building up, pulsing inside me as it grew closer.

“Don’t stop,” I growled as I ground up into him.

He only fastened his pace, pounding into me and making the bed creak and groan under us. I was gasping and moaning, squirming beneath him as my orgasm drew closer.

“I’m going to make you enjoy yourself, over and over,” he purred into my ear.

His deep, throaty voice was the last straw, and I cried out as the energy tore through me, my body spasming as he growled and joined me in our finish. The waves of pure bliss and power coursed through me, our auras mingling once more. I savored the tremors coursing through me as he held me close, our bodies joined in mind, body, and soul.

And despite being in this hellhole, I felt momentarily at ease and bliss.

And Nate was not about to be done with me as he nuzzled my neck and moved his hand down to tease my clit.

I drew in a sharp breath at his touch, and then closed my eyes as he got me ready for another round.

  Hopefully this plan would work.

  Leon.

“You’re a fool!” Thomas spat, and I heard Jackson draw in an unsteady breath.

I was just within earshot with my enhanced hearing, and I needed to know what was going on. Why was the idiot here all alone? He was walking into certain death. If Mr Oxley hadn’t used his magic to stave off disaster with Sav’s family, I could just imagine how they’d be out here right now, tearing him limb from limb.

The sun had set when we’d arrived here, and now the half moon was slowly ascending into the night sky.

“No, you are. For my entire life, you had me believing supes were monsters. Sav wasn’t, and those guys you tried to kill, they aren’t either. They’re just normal,” Jackson spat.

“They’ve twisted your mind!” Thomas roared, and I could picture him toting a gun or waving his arms at Jackson.

“No, you twisted my mind, they showed me the truth,” Jackson said firmly.

“They have her here don’t they?” Thomas growled.

“How’d you even find us?” Jackson demanded.

“You’re my son. When we had you in the basement, I made sure that Sean knew to slice your tattoo. He informed me he’d done that, meaning your warding against witches was broken now,” Thomas growled.

  That prick.

“What?” Jackson said in shock. He obviously hadn’t even thought of it. I didn’t blame him. A lot had been going on lately.

  “Is she here?” Thomas snapped.

  “No.”

Well, I guess we have some hunting to do then,” Thomas muttered.

“You’re not going near that house, they’ll kill you.”

“They trust you now though, you can take some of them out.”

“What the hell is wrong with you? Have you just lost it?” Jackson said in disbelief.

“No, I’m seeing things clearly. My own son abandoned me for some monster, something I should’ve thought more about before raising you two side by side. It’s time to end this, to kill them all.”

“Really sounds like you’re unhinged. You came alone too, against a group of supes. You taught us to be better than this, to think first,” Jackson sighed.

“I am thinking! I know they need to be put down!”

Jackson was right. His father was off his rocker right now. And judging by his slight slurring, he’d probably been drinking.

Had he come out here to die?

“Dad, stop. Go home,” Jackson pleaded with him.

“If you’re not going to help me, then get out of my way,” he growled.

“I’m not letting you get yourself killed for some stupid vendetta, you said mom was killed by a shifter, but how do I know you’re telling the truth!” Jackson snapped.

“Because she was. A bloodthirsty shifter tore her apart in our hunting cabin. I saw it with my own eyes. He was half-shifted into a mountain lion, and he killed her. I managed to shoot it, and it ran away. When I finally found it, someone else had finished the job for me,” Thomas’ voice was low and menacing.

Someone had finished it off? I wondered if it was someone human, or perhaps a bounty hunter? A rogue shifter? Who knew, there was no way of knowing for sure. But I had my doubts about it. A rogue sounded more like the culprit.

“They’re not all like that, just like how not all people are murderers,” Jackson tried to reason with him.

“They’re abominations, they all kill, that’s what they do.” Thomas was unwavering in his belief.

  “How’s it going?”

I jumped as Mr Oxley joined me on the porch, Tristan and Dominic following him.

“Not too great, he won’t see reason,” I sighed as I listened to the pair continue to argue down in the darkness away from the home.

“Yeah, no surprise there,” Tristan snorted.

“What should we do?” Dominic asked softly.

We all turned back as shouts rose up from inside the house, and then doors slammed.

I gave Tristan a dreadful look, and I knew he was thinking the same.

“They’re going to kill him,” Dominic whispered as he realized what was happening.

I took off down the drive after Jackson, with Tristan and Dominic hot on my heels as Mr Oxley followed. I heard him drop his cane on the porch.

I heard the yips and yowls, and I knew that the two werewolves were out for blood. But I had a feeling they weren’t alone.

I skidded around the bend in the dirt drive, shouting out to Jackson as Thomas spied me and raised a shotgun.

  Well, wasn’t this grand timing.

One large black wolf shot out of the treeline, torpedoing into Thomas and knocking the shotgun from his hands. Thomas shouted as he got dragged to the ground, and then the second, smaller wolf, more grey than black, joined the first.

A black panther slinked out of the shadows, its sleek black pelt shimmering in the moonlight.

“Enough!” Mr Oxley roared as he shot into the area.

How he’d moved so fast was beyond me.

A golden wave of energy shot out, knocking the predators away from Thomas as Jackson ran over to his father.

The two wolves snarled and spun on Mr Oxley, and the panther just pulled back, watching carefully. Something told me this was Bernie, despite not knowing for sure if it was him or his son.

“Dominic! Come here, it’s time for Thomas to learn the truth, show him,” Mr Oxley beckoned Dominic over as he strode closer to Jackson and his father, who was nursing a gash on his arm.

“I’ll kill you all!” Thomas snarled.

Dominic shot Mr Oxley an uneasy look, but continued onwards when Mr Oxley nodded.

The two wolves were pacing, and I was curious why they weren’t attacking.

  “He’s shielding them.”

I looked back as Wesley appeared from the darkness with my twin. Wesley could see it clearly, and now that I focused, I could se
e the golden ripple in the air surrounding Jackson and his father.

“Dad, just relax, please,” Jackson pleaded as Dominic passed through the barrier and got closer.

Thomas just responded by snatching a hunting knife from his belt, but Mr Oxley was quick to knock it away with a wave of golden energy.

I’d never seen him use his power this much before. It was incredible, and made me wonder just what he was capable of.

Dominic took the chance to lurch forward and press his palm to Thomas’ forehead. He snarled, but Jackson held him still as Dominic’s and Thomas’ eyes glowed purple.

“What’s going on?” Samson asked as he joined us, along with Soren, Chris, and Benny.

“Dominic is showing him the truth about supes I guess,” Wesley shrugged as he stood beside a severely displeased Damien.

Thomas’ face distorted as all was revealed to him, and minutes ticked by before Dominic finally pulled away.

In his wake was Thomas, trembling as he stared down at his hands.

“Dad?” Jackson murmured as he gave his father’s shoulder a squeeze.

Thomas just blinked, clenching his jaw as he refused to meet anyone’s gaze.

Dominic retreated back to Tristan’s side as the two wolves circled the barrier.

“Lionel, Lachlan, shift back. Bernie, you too. We have other matters to attend to,” Soren instructed his companions.

The two wolves growled but begrudgingly retreated into the treeline, while Bernie slunk after them.

“You boys make sure you’re prepared to leave, that you’ve got everything you need,” Mr Oxley turned back to all of us. “Leon, wait with me.”

I shot a look at my remaining companions, and Damien muttered in annoyance as he shot one last dark look at the father and son before us before turning back. Tristan and Dominic followed, and everyone else slowly headed back.

I joined Mr Oxley instead as he dropped his barrier from around Thomas and Jackson.

Thomas was murmuring to Jackson now, and I swear he even sobbed before pulling himself together.

“Jackson, I believe it will be best for you to remain with your father,” Mr Oxley said softly.

“What? What about Sav?” Jackson said in disbelief as he frowned at us.

“She needs supes who can fight. Right now, your father needs you. He needs someone who understands everything,” Mr Oxley murmured.

Jackson’s features twisted as he looked back at his father, who looked like he’d given up on life. Like it had lost all meaning.

Not that I felt sorry for him in the slightest.

I knew Jackson was torn as he flicked his eyes between us.

“I’ll give you my number and call you as soon as we’ve got her safe,” I assured him as I stepped forward.

He just nodded as he pulled out his phone and unlocked it before handing it to me.

I entered in my number and checked his number before I handed it back, glancing down at Thomas who refused to even acknowledge me.

Whatever. I had more important matters to attend to than a hunter in a life purpose crisis.

  I had to save Sav.

‘How does a kitsune know when they’ve conceived? Is there any grand thing that happens?’ I asked as I lay in Nate’s arms. We’d made love a number of times before finally just spooning.

It was quite relaxing to be nestled into his arms, feeling like I fit there perfectly despite the circumstances.

‘I think they just know,’ he murmured into my mind.

Interesting. Guess we’d see what happened then.

‘How’d you end up here?’ I asked.

‘I got into a fight with a werewolf out of a warded zone, the prick broke my leather bracelet that was spelled to ward me. It fell on the ground, and he stomped on it. I hoped that just by carrying it until I could get it repaired was enough, but the golem found me.’

  ‘I still don’t understand golem’s.’

‘They are created by powerful magic wielders. They serve only their creator, have only a one track mind. To serve. Can’t speak, but incredibly difficult to kill. They say the only way to destroy one is to destroy their creator. Other stories say that you need to say their true name given to them by the creator, or shove a special script down their throat. No one knows for sure because they’re so incredibly rare.’

Right. Golems. Not something you wanted to get caught up with.

  ‘How about you?’

’No idea, one found me while I was helping my mates with a bounty hunt and we ended up with hunters after us. It’s a long story, but a golem found me.’

‘Your mates, you have four others?’

Yeah, Damien and Leon, apparently they’re twins, but it’s not obvious. Then Wesley and Tristan.’

  ‘And now me.’

I smiled at this. As to why, I had no idea. Maybe it was because I could feel the tenderness he had for me. I’d saved his life too by mating with him.

‘Yeah, pretty good deal there,’ he chuckled as he nuzzled my back.

All the other males had quietened down now that we’d finished, and I knew a few of them had gotten off to our sex session.

I wouldn’t dwell on it though. I’d been watched before.

I grinned as Nate listened in to that thought, and his own thought jumped into my mind. He’d been one hell of a player too, having orgies. Kitsunes. It was just how we were designed.

A door slid up across the room, and a short, round man sauntered in, pulling his belted pants up as he headed our way.

  Great.

“Seems you two had fun. Now, have you conceived?” the man asked as he rested his hands on his hips. He was balding and had a chubby face with a speckling of stubble that didn’t suit his features at all.

Hell, that fat neck wouldn’t look great either way. He seriously needed to cut back on the junk food.

“Why would I tell you that?” I grumbled as I pulled the blanket up under my chin.

“You have to tell me,” the tubby little man sighed. “I just need to know.”

“Well, sucks to be you,” I snorted, and I could feel Nate frowning behind me.

“I’m here to escort you back to your cell as required,” the man stated.

“Sure,” I said as I slid out from under the blanket.

Tubby’s eyes rolled over my naked form, and I just turned my back to him as I found my panties and pulled them on, along with my bra.

Nate was growling softly as tubby eyed me like a piece of meat.

“Did you conceive or not?” he asked again, frustrated now.

“Maybe, why’s that matter?” I growled.

Tubby grumbled and reached for his radio.

“Female subject may have conceived but won’t share details,” he droned into it.

“Take her to the nurse for assessment then. You don’t want to risk a miscarriage if she is,” a staticky voice replied. Actually, it sounded like baldy.

‘Are you sure you know what you’re doing?’ Nate gave me a concerned look.

‘No, but it’s all I’ve got.’

Tubby tossed me some cuffs, which I caught with ease and clicked onto my wrists.

“I don’t want to see a nurse,” I said with an eye roll.

“Well, just tell me if you conceived or not.”

“Why? So you can take it away from me or experiment on it?” I snapped. I had no idea why they had this breeding program going on. It could be any number of things, but I wouldn’t jump to any conclusions.

Tubby just groaned as he unlocked the cage and waited for me to exit.

“When do I get a shower too?” I asked, trying to appear uncaring but hopeful for a shower.

He didn’t answer as he locked the cell back up, and I gave Nate one last, long look before following the stumpy little man out the far door.

I’d free him too. I’d free almost all of them.

I was uncertain on all the males at this point.

  That bloody-faced freak
didn’t need to be set loose in the world.

Tubby led me out into the hall and then up some steps, and when he opened the door, blinding light washed through and threw me off as I stumbled after him.

The pristine cream walls with the royal red carpet made me draw in a breath of relief.

Finally. I was out of the stone-walled basement.

But I was still trapped here.

As I followed after tubby, I kept my eyes peeled for an exit. But just like last time, there were no windows in any of the rooms, baffling me beyond belief. Something was wrong with all of this. Windows were something everyone had. Why did this building lack them?

“No windows,” I mused out loud.

“The Collector likes to keep his possessions to himself, no need for any… trouble,” tubby said as he shot a look over his shoulder at me. I just pretended to be curiously looking around, like I was intrigued by the building.

He led me to a wooden door with a brass plaque on it that read ‘Infirmary’ before rasping his knuckles on the door.

“Just a minute!” a woman called out.

I chewed my lip as I went over my plan in my mind.

Fingers crossed the Collector wasn’t watching me, or I’d be in some deep shit.

A glance around the hallway revealed that there were no cameras here, at least, none that I could see easily.

  Didn’t mean I was safe.

The door swung open and a slender, grey-haired woman stared down at tubby, then dragged her piercing green eyes to inspect me.

“Nurse Maurice, this is one of the female subjects who may have conceived, we need you to check,” Tubby explained.

“Let me guess, she won’t tell you shit,” Maurice cracked a grin, revealing smoke stained teeth as the wrinkles appeared at the edges of her eyes and mouth. Her blue nurse uniform was wrinkled and dull, and I got the impression she’d worked here for some time. No use trying to pull on her heartstrings then. Those piercing eyes held no care for me whatsoever.

Tubby just sighed and shook his head in defeat.

“Well, come on in, it’s not like I haven’t got anything better to do,” she rasped as she indicated for us to enter as she held the door open.

I stared into the bleak, white room with the medical table and shelving units.
