“Oh my God! You fucking shot me! You shot me! Get me some help!” Rain yelled.
“Bitch, fuck you,” I said walking over to her. I kept my gun trained on her in case I had to shoot her ass again. “Where the fuck is my shit at, Rain?”
“Imran, get me some help. Oh my God, my leg is on fire! Help! Help! Help me!” Rain cried out with her had wrapped tightly around her calf muscle. Blood dripped out like a faucet and her breaths quickened and slowed and then quickened again.
“Oh my God, Rain! What the hell is wrong with you? Why did you shoot her?” Jina said as she ran and kneeled down next to her cousin.
“Rain, where the fuck is my shit? Don’t play with me right now. You know me enough to know I will body you and this bitch for fucking with me.”
“Rain, what is going on?” Jina asked and stared at me with a terrified look planted on her face.
“Jina, go back home, baby girl. Go back home and lock the door. ’Don’t let anybody in.”
“Nooo, I wanna stay with you. Why did you shoot her? I’m gonna call the police.”
“No, no, no!’ Rain shouted and gripped her leg once again.
“Yea, you better nip that shit in the bud right now. Look, all I wanna know is where my shit is.”
I walked closer to Rain and pushed Jina out of the way. I yanked Rain’s little ass off the ground and made her stand on her good leg.
“Let her go! Leave her alone!” Jina screamed out and punched me in my back. I swung around and knocked the hell out of her. She went flailing backwards where she fell in the thick green grass.
“Don’t you hit her! She doesn’t have anything to do with this!” Rain tried to pull away from me, but the grip I held on her arm was deathly.
I continued to walk from in between the houses and out to the street where Kira had pulled the car closer to where we were. Rain tried harder to get away from me, but I wasn’t about to let her ass go nowhere. She was about to take me straight to my fucking money.
“Get your ass in the car!” I yelled and pushed her in the backseat.
I slammed the door shut and looked over my shoulder where Jina was slowly coming my way. She brought her hands up to her forehead and continued to walk in my direction moving quicker and quicker.
“Stay the fuck back! Long as she acts right, she’ll be back!”
I jumped inside the car and instructed Kira to drive off.

I sat in the backseat of the car that Imran kidnapped me in and did my best not to pass out. My leg was hurting so damn bad. It felt like someone was constantly holding a lighter with the flame on high to it. This shit was so bad that it seemed the best solution would be cutting off my damn leg.
“Imran, please take me somewhere to get some help. I am in so much pain,” I pleaded with him trying to look around so that I would know where they were taking me.
“I don’t give a fuck about your pain. I’ll get you some help after you take me to my money,” Imran said coldly.
I should’ve known better than to come over to my aunt’s house, but hell, I thought that if Imran did know anything, I still had a little time on my side. I didn’t expect for him to be here so quickly, but then again I don’t know why I didn’t. I had taken a little over two hundred thousand dollars from him along with thousands of dollar’s worth of coke. That was an urgent matter for anybody. And Imran was always urgent when it came to his money.
“What money? Imran, I don’t have your damn money. Why the fuck would I take your money? You need to holla at that crazy ass bitch, Jahzara. She the one with the motive to do some bullshit like that,” I hissed and kicked my left foot into the back of Imran’s seat. He quickly turned around like he wanted to hit me, seething with anger. I almost laughed and had I not been in so much pain, I would have.
“What motive is that Rain? Jahzara is in the fucking hospital after I shot her behind your ass! Had I known you was gonna fuck me over once again, I would’ve let her kill you! Waste of my fucking bullets! I almost killed her over you!”
I rolled my eyes and tried not to focus on him or the pain I was feeling. I needed so bad to talk to Chino and for him to make this right. I tried calling him over and over again and each time his phone went to voicemail. I hope like hell he was somewhere not able to get signal and that he wasn’t in any trouble. This wasn’t supposed to happen and he promised me that he would handle it if it did. It wasn’t like him to not call me and keep me updated with what was going on with him. Ever since we started this whole thing, we’d kept in constant contact. Anytime Chino thought that I was in trouble, he would send some kind of communication my way to let me know that he wasn’t very far and just to say word if I needed him. I had thought that when Imran, Jahzara, and I were having that little dispute with Jahzara’s friend and ex-husband that I was definitely gonna have to call him in, but it ended up working out. Had I called on Chino to come and save me then everything would have been blown and Imran would have known that I was working him the whole time.
This just wasn’t like Chino. Now that it had been just about twenty-four hours since I’d last heard from him, I didn’t know what to think. I hope that he hadn’t left me hanging. I thought about the fact that we barely knew each other and started wondering if I could trust him. I had done so much for him and he really hadn’t given me the same thing back. I’d killed, robbed, and stole for him. Yet when I needed him the most he was nowhere to be found.
Shit Chino, where are you? I thought as I glanced down at my phone. I looked up to make sure Imran wasn’t looking and quickly shot Chino a text message.
Babe, where are you? That nigga, Imran, is here and he done shot me. I need you, boo.
I had to figure out a plan and get out of this car. Imran would kill me and wouldn’t think twice about the fact that we once loved each other. He wouldn’t care that he and I once shared a love so great that we almost walked down the aisle to consummate that love. He would kill me if he felt he had no other choice. I wasn’t gonna admit to anything though unless I had no other choice. Right now a bad ass attitude and a bullet in my calf wasn’t enough for me to say shit.
“Oh, you don’t have nothing to say?” Imran asked and glanced back at me. “Turn over there where that Motel 6 is.”
I waited until the two of them were no longer looking and slyly slid my hand into my bag where I had the .45 that I gotten from Chino’s closet. I had forgotten all about it until now. I brought the gun up and pointed it at the back of Imran’s head. I went to pull the trigger but nothing happened, but a loud ass click that alarmed them.
Imran turned his head quickly towards me and all hell broke loose. He leaned over the seat and reached for the gun and we began to tussle over it. Imran brought his hand up to punch me when I pulled the trigger again.
POW!
“Bitch!” Imran yelled and slammed his fist into my face causing me to blackout.

I hurried and grabbed the wheel of the car to try and gain control of the car. Sliding over onto Kira’s lap, I brought the car to an abrupt stop right before we were about to make impact with a car that was only a foot or two in front us. I pushed the car in park and hurriedly opened the door and climbed out. I placed both hands on top of my head and stared down at my cousin Kira who was leant over the front seat with a bullet in her head. Blood poured out onto the seats of the car, quickly soaking it up like a sponge.
I shook my head and then slammed my fist into the hood of the car. She was only here to watch my back and I’d fucking gotten her killed. I wanted to end this shit with Rain, wanted to put a bullet in her head the same way, but then I would be leaving without what I came for. I looked around and noticed that someone had stepped out of the Motel 6’s lobby and was holding a phone to their ear, most likely calling the police.
Quickly, I grabbed Kira and moved her over to the passenger side. I couldn’t leave her out here for her to just be picked over by the coroners and tagged as a Jane Doe until som
eone came to claim her body. I didn’t know what I was gonna do with her, but I needed to make sure she would find her way back home to our family so that she could have a proper burial.
“Fuck!” I yelled at the top of my lungs and scrambled to get out of the parking lot. I didn’t know where to go, where the fuck I was at, or what the hell to do. My head was spinning and my mind was just all over the place. I’d never known Rain to be this grimy. Even when she was stealing from me to get high, it was never any shit like this.
I felt a lone tear slide down my face and I quickly swiped it away. I glanced over at my cousin’s corpse sitting only a few inches away from me and felt all kinds of rage run through my veins.
I looked back at Rain passed out in the backseat and shook my head. I would get my shit back from her and execute her ass. Fuck sending her crackhead ass back home, this bitch’s body was gonna be floating in a river real soon. Fuck having mercy on this ruthless bitch.

After carefully thinking, I stopped at a rinky dink motel not far from the Motel 6 we’d just left and snuck into one of their rooms. The staff was going from door to door cleaning them and I was able to get inside of one without them noticing. After making sure that no one was around, I pulled Kira’s body out of the car and took her inside of a room. The only thing that she’d had on her was her old ID from when she worked as a nurse and that was it. I made sure to leave that with her so that they would know who to contact when it came time.
I hated to do this shit, but it was the only way I could think of. It wasn’t like I could take her to the hospital without them asking me a thousand different questions that would most likely lead to them arresting me. I just walked away from some murder charges; I might not be so lucky again.
I rushed out of the Motel room and hurried to drive away from that place. I kept driving and driving until I found a place to stop where it didn’t seem to be anyone around.
“Rain! Rain!” I yelled at her. I took a rag that I’d gotten off one of the staff’s cleaning carts when I was leaving and began wiping the car down from the inside and the out. Trying to remove any prints that I might have left behind. I planned to burn the car, but still didn’t want to leave any DNA behind that would lead back to me.
“Mmmh,” Rain groaned.
I grabbed a handful of her hair and pulled her out the car causing her to bump her butt on the ground. She screamed and I brought my fist up threatening to knock her ass out again. I was sick and tired of playing with Rain. I just wanted to get my money and get back to Lubbock and relax like I had planned when I left the hospital.
“You’re hurting me, Imran! Let me go! Let me go, you muthafucka!”
“Shut the fuck up before I blow your fucking brains out, bitch!”
I took my foot and kicked her in the side. I hated to be like this with her being she was a female, but all I could see was red right now. I don’t think I’ve ever been this mad in my entire life. I pulled Rain as far away from the car as I possibly could and then walked back over to it where I took a lighter out of my pocket, along with a piece of paper. I checked my surroundings to make sure that no one was around, and then pulled open the gas tank, and screwed the top off. Stuffing the end of the paper in the tank, I lit the end of it and took off running toward where I left Rain.
“Get up and let’s go!” I bellowed.
“I can’t walk. I already had some broken fucking ribs and you just made the shit worse!” Rain cried and spit at my feet.
“I don’t give a fuck about your broken ribs! You didn’t seem to have a problem running away from me with your broken ribs! Get your ass up!” I pulled out the pistol I had on me and pointed it at her head. “Try me if you want. At this point, I’m on I don’t give a fuck mode. You killed my fucking cousin, so don’t think I will have any reservations about taking your life.”
“It was accident. I was trying to shoot you.”
“Well you didn’t. Now get your ass up!”
I ducked down and covered my head just as the car exploded behind me. I turned around to see the damage that had been done and was satisfied that all evidence would be lost. I turned back to Rain and jerked her by her arm, pulling her up from the ground and dragging her down the street.
“Where is my shit, Rain? Who helped you ‘cause I know you didn’t do it alone?” I asked tugging tightly on her arm.
“I don’t know. I have no idea what you’re talking about. You came all the way out here for nothing. I don’t have your shit!” Rain spat.
“I’m not stupid! Where the fuck is it or where is the fuck nigga that helped you, crackhead bitch?”
Rain yanked away from me and went tumbling to the ground. I reached down at her and was about to pull her up from the ground, but changed my mind.
Fuck it! I thought and raised the pistol toward her head. All of this shit that I was going through for that money wasn’t worth all of this. Hustlin and getting money was in my genes, that shit ran deep in my blood, and the same way I started from the bottom, I would just have to do it again.
“Okay, wait. Wait Imran!”
Rain held her head up in an attempt to stop me, but I fired the trigger anyway. This time I shot her in the thigh of the same leg I shot her in earlier.
“Aagghhhhhhhh!” she screamed.
“You think I give a fuck about you right now! I hate fuckin’ liars and thieves, you grimy ass bitch!”
I raised the pistol again.
“Imran—wait!” she cried.
Tears poured down her face and she held onto her leg, attempting to stop the blood that shot out of it. She pressed down hard on her thigh only making more and more blood squirt out.
“Imran, wait what?” I said to her ready to pull the trigger to end her life this time.
“Wait! Okay! I didn’t take your money, but I know who did. It’s the dude I told you about. I thought that you wasn’t gonna make it out of that accident alive, so I gave him your shit so that he would get off of my back. He had me scared, Imran! I didn’t know what else to do. He killed my boyfriend, Yurie; he threatened to hurt Jina, and my aunt. I’m sorry.”
“Fuck your apology. Who is this nigga and where can I find him at?” I asked tucking the pistol in my pants.
“His name is Chino. He doesn’t live that far from here. I can take you to his house. Just please get me some help first. Please.”
“Alright,” I said and reached down to pick Rain up.
I got to steal a car. Fuck!
14: Jahzara
I was sitting in my hospital bed eating on a bowl of grapes that my dad had brought me from home and watching the Houston Rockets and LA Clippers basketball game. This was something that I hadn’t done in a long time. Back in the day, my daddy and I used to talk all kinds of mess over these games. That was back when I was younger before I thought I was grown and left with Quin’s ass.
“Yea, you might as well give it up. Houston is gone!” my daddy said and began to clap his hands loudly. He glanced at the TV once more and then began to go over his Bible and take notes for his sermon on Sunday morning. My mama was sitting in the corner of the room asleep with a book across her chest and a blanket that she’d knitted covering half of her body.
“Whatev--Daddy, I don’t feel right,” I said gripping my head over my heart.
My daddy placed his bible and notepad on the chair next to him and leapt to my side. He looked at me with fear in his eyes, trying to detect what was wrong with me. All I knew was that my chest was throbbing with a sharp pain. It felt like someone was stabbing me repeatedly.
“What’s wrong baby girl?” he asked and grabbed my cup that contained ice cold water.
I reached out for the cup when the pain struck me so hard that I could no longer move. My vision became blurry. All of a sudden, my head started to pound. I tried to move my arm to reach out for my father again, but it was numb.
“I don’t know what’s going on. It hurts.”
“Evelyn!” my daddy yelled
out. He grabbed the remote next to my bed and began to frantically press down on the nurse call button. “Evelyn!”
“Yes, can we help you!” the nurse called out.
“Something is wrong! Get a doctor in here now!” my daddy yelled out and my mother finally came to.
She jumped out of her seat and rushed over to the bed, looking around to see what was going wrong.
“What happened? What’s wrong Jahzara?”
“I can’t breathe. It hurts so bad,” I cried. “Please call Imran for me. It hurts so bad.”
I gripped my hand over my chest and squinted my eyes opened and shut. The agony I was feeling was like I was having a heart attack.
“Mama please call him. It’s not his fault that he shot me. I did something so bad that I left him no other choice. I love him and I want to be with him. Mama-” I said and gripped my hand even tighter as the constant throbbing caused my breath to leave me.
I threw my head back against the bed unable to talk anymore. The monitors around me started to sound off, each one of them beeping loudly as if one was trying to outdo the other. My mama and daddy just looked on helplessly until the door swung opened and finally someone came to my aid.
“What is happening to her?” my mama asked, but she was only booted out of the way.
“We don’t know yet. Can you two please step out of the room?” a nurse told her and they let my bed down causing me to lay flat.
