“I don’t hate you, I loooove you,” Frig mocked as he draped himself across the large throne. “Go get screwed, glued, and tattooed, loser!”
Nanaya reached back an arm in his direction without looking and released a bolt of green lightning. The bolt hit Frig in the dick, and he shot about twenty feet into the air before landing out of sight behind the throne.
“Come on,” I said, taking her by the hand. “You don’t want to stay down here. This place is…well, it’s fucking depressing.”
“You’re sweet, Sam,” she said with a smile. “But I’m now the most powerful being in the Underworld. I think I’ll see where this goes.”
“But won’t being a dark lord like…change you?”
“If it does,” she said as she leaned closer to me and gave me a long, passionate kiss. “You’ll just have to come down here and remind me who I am.”
I returned from the Underworld a level 37 and joined my guildmates for a drink as Cecilia’s place. Seeing my new level, Trinity offered me a disapproving scowl.
“How’s that backstabbing succubus bitch doing?” she asked.
“She sends her regards,” I said.
“I told you that bitch was crazy,” Tweak said as he shook his head.
“That you did,” I admitted.
“So, is your offer still open?” Cecilia asked.
“You want to officially join the guild?” I asked.
She nodded and grinned slyly. “With the Guild Wars expansion coming. Hell yeah. Besides, you guys are pretty fun.”
“Yay!” Kit cheered and hugged her fellow furry.
“Congrats, Cece,” said Tweak.
“What about you, Tweak?” I asked. “We could use a good shaman in our group.”
“You serious?” he asked, looking stoked by the idea. But then he frowned. “You don’t want to, uh…level with me, do you?”
“You’re a sexy purple ape,” I said with a laugh. “But no, you’re going to have to level the old-fashioned way.”
He shrugged and laughed. “Your loss.”
Everyone burst out in laughter, and we all raised our drinks.
“To the future!” I cheered.
“To the future!” they happily replied.
