My mind wouldn’t rest, but finally, I was able to convince myself that I had made the right decision. If anything, I had rescued Cindy from a life of loneliness and poverty. She had no one to go home to back on Earth and had been facing eviction from her already ratty and rundown apartment. Coming out of a bad break up, she needed some nurturing and I was sure I was the partner for the job.
One last time, I preached into the wind and hoped my dad was out there somewhere to hear me. “I’m not gonna let you down anymore Dad. I promise.”
I walked out of the woods and back home to where I knew my future bride would be waiting for me.
Chapter 14
Togtulir
I went home to Cindy, but I still felt as if my insides were rotting and I needed a mental pick me up.
“You seem a million miles away, sweetheart,” Cindy rubbed my stomach near my belly button. Her touch warmed my soul. We were laying on a blanket and some pillows on the floor in front of the wood burning fireplace. Most nights were brutally cold as soon as the sun set, blanketing Cardalph in a frozen darkness.
“I’m fine,” I reached for her free hand and kissed each knuckle.
“You need a distraction.” She pulled down my pants slowly, leaning in between my legs. Her hair fell over her face and I grasped it into my fist and held it to the side.
To my surprise and delight, she took a sip of her warm hot cocoa I had made her just before we laid down. She opened her now even warmer mouth, taking in my already hardened cock. Her tongue was soft and brought a sensual new level of pleasure to the blow job I was thrilled to be on the receiving end of right now.
She teased me with her seasoned licking, sucking, and tugging until I couldn’t contain my climax another second. Grabbing my balls in her hand, she squeezed gently and I went over the edge and came all over her face. I went to bed that night feeling more content than I had since our nights on the island.
The next day I still felt rough on the inside. I needed a detox from my thoughts and I knew exactly where to find it. I rapped on the heavy wooden door of my Aunt Rosgular’s house. I could smell the aroma of spices in the air outside the house that always made me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.
“Togtulir!” Aunt Rosgular threw open the door and her arms simultaneously. She brought her frail thin hands up to my face, sizing me up and planted a kiss on my cheek. She was wearing an apron and her dark graying hair was pulled up in a bun. I was easily two feet taller than her.
“Hi, Aunt R.”
She beamed at me and led me inside. She lived in a cabin on the outskirts of town. She was my soulful aunt, filled to the brim with the wisdom I was desperate to achieve on my own accord. I knew that if I came here, she would give me the advice I needed in order to succeed in this leader role I was forced into taking.
“Please, come sit, my dear,” she patted her shabby plaid couch and I obeyed, sitting next to her cat named Skirrelo a Siamese breed that I thought had more attitude than Drozalia at times. The cat looked at me in disgust and after a flick of his tail jumped off the couch and out of sight.
The fire burning in her fireplace made crackling sounds, and I immediately felt the ease I had anticipated. “What brings you to my neck of the woods?” She pulled out her knitting and began to work and rock back and forth in her favorite chair.
Not ready to face my problems yet, I tried to change the subject. “What are you cooking, Aunt Rosgular? It smells delicious.” I looked around and admired the paintings she had hanging on the wall.
“Why are you dodging my question, Togtulir? I can see it in your eyes. Something is troubling you. No small talk until we get to the bottom of it.” She pointed a bony finger at me and I flashed her a sheepish smile.
“You’re right, something is bothering me. I recently found a new love.”
“A new love? You don’t say!” Her eyes brightened and I could tell she was over the moon with happiness for me.
“Yes, her name is Cindy. She’s from Earth.”
“Earth?” At that, my aunt’s brow furrowed, her expression became concerned.
“Don’t worry, she’s safe, and I know she cares for me. She may even love me. We have connected on a deep level. She’s actually not the problem, Aunt R.” I looked down at the carpet and shuffled my feet together.
“Well, come out with it then. What’s the matter, dear? Whatever it is, we can work through it.” She winked at me.
I had always respected my Aunt Rosgular, she was the one I turned to the most when I needed help resolving a life problem. She had been around the world more than once. She had visited almost every planet in our galaxy and if anyone knew how to coexist with other people, she was definitely the one.
“Would you like some hot tea, dear?” She raised herself from her chair and started to walk to the kitchen before I even got a chance to answer.
“Tea would be lovely. Thank you,” I called out to her and waited in the living room for her to return.
Once she brought back my drink, I took it and sipped, calming down immensely from the condition I had been in when I first arrived. I was cold and the hot mug in my hands helped warm me. “I’m afraid I’m not good enough to run this planet. I don’t have what it takes; everyone thinks I’m a big joke because of my tumultuous past.” I hung my head in frustration.
“Snap out of it!” Not one to mince words, my aunt shook her head at me. “No nephew of mine is going to speak ill of himself in front of me.” Given that I was her only nephew, I found this statement comical.
“You need to understand something, Togtulir,” Aunt Rosgular leaned in so I could hear her better. “Your father wasn’t so perfect, you know. He made a lot of mistakes, too. But you know what the greatest thing about making mistakes is?”
She paused, waiting for my answer. “You get to learn from them?” I ventured a guess that was evidently correct because she clapped her hands together in a loud clack.
“You are smarter than you give yourself credit for, my boy.” She walked over to a window and placed a hand on her hip. “Your heart is in the right place. You are a Cardalphian through and through. If you step back and open your eyes, you’ll see that you come from a planet of givers, not takers.”
“I know that we have made great efforts and strides to help out other species in the galaxy, but I feel like if the people here had a choice between me and my father, they would still flock to him.” I joined her at the window with my hands in my pockets. She placed a bony hand on my arm, too short to reach to my shoulders.
“My dear, Togtulir. Your father faced many battles as the leader of Cardalph. He was far from perfect and there were times when you were a young boy, that he made the people here very angry. He ruled without thinking, making rash decisions without requesting or taking opinions and advice from his team. I would warn him from time to time that he was getting over his head when it came to power, but he was stubborn and wouldn’t listen. Now he’s lying in the ground—may he rest in peace—but it’s true.” She nodded her head and looked at me as if she were proving her own point.
“What about the prisoners? Why did my father never let them go?” This question still gnawed at me.
Rosgular let out a dragged-out sigh and went to sit back in her favorite chair. After a few moments of silence, she spoke again. “Your father thought he was doing the right thing in protecting Cardalph by holding those prisoners in those cells. But he was blind to see who the real enemy was. He didn’t stop to think that maybe he captured the wrong type of Daklin.”
I let this revelation sink in for a minute or two. “So, are you saying that those men and women in the cells deserve to go free?”
“There’s always room for change. I think you should listen to what your heart tells you, my boy. Almost all the time, it’s the right answer.”
“Maybe you’re right Aunt R. Maybe I’m not the only one who needs a makeover. Perhaps the entire planet should change its ways, and I can start as their ruler. I will lead by e
xample and release the prisoners. It will be my first attempt at bringing peace between the two feuding species.”
Aunt Rosgular stood up and gave me a hug. “I think you are moving in the right direction, Togtulir. I’m proud of you, no matter what you do. I never played into all those rumors about you. I knew you’d come around in your own time. You’re a good man, and it’s far time the rest of Cardalph sees it too.”
I left her house feeling in much better spirits. I was ready to conquer the world, but not in a dictatorship kind of way. It was up to me to save a crippled galaxy from unnecessary battles across the universe. It was the time for us to band together, lifting each other up instead of crashing each other down.
Chapter 15
Togtulir
“I have to go away again for a little while, but before you get upset, please hear me out.” I was sitting on the back deck with Cindy, watching the sun play hide and seek behind the clouds.
“Okay.” Cindy tossed me a worried glance, but I knew I must rip the Band-Aid off now and explain my plans instead of prolonging the inevitable.
“I have decided to release the prisoners from their cells.” I squinted from the glare of the sun and looked in her direction.
“You are? Why? What are you going to do with them?” Cindy was picking apart a leaf that had blown over to the edge of the pool.
“I have been doing a lot of soul-searching the last few days. My father never gave a good explanation or reason for holding them hostage in those dark cages for so long.” I laughed, but it didn’t seem funny on the outside. “Who knows? Maybe he even had forgotten they were there.”
Cindy gasped. “Do you really think that was the case?”
“I have no idea, sweetpea, but I’m ready to right some of the wrongs that have happened here on Cardalph. Not to mention it’s a bonus that could help give a boost to my image.”
“I can tell you’ve been working hard to reshape that,” she said as she slapped my shoulder playfully.
“So, you’re not mad then?”
“I’m not mad. I’m disappointed that we don’t get to spend a lot of time together, but I understand that you are a leader and it’s your responsibility to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. Well, at least as far as this planet is concerned.” Her bright smile lit up my soul.
That night we made love in the sunroom so that it would seem like we were under the canopy of the stars. The entire room had wall-to-wall windows including the ceiling. It was one of my favorite places to go in the entire palace.
I shoved her naked up against one of the glass windows and thrust into her with animal force. Her ass pinned to the cool window, she wrapped her legs around my waist and burrowed her nails into my naked ass cheeks. It felt so good when we made love in a primal way. I sucked on her nipples and she cried out my name, sending me over the edge. I came into her wet tight pussy as I looked out into oblivion.
The next day I had so much work to do, I didn’t even know where to start, so I began by getting the shuttle ready to carry the nine prisoners we had on Cardalph back to their native Daklin. I knew that until we made it safely back to their planet, they would have to remain chained and sedated for my own safety.
I spent the entire morning preparing the shuttle to accommodate the men and women I would take back to Daklin. I mixed up the same sedative I used for Cindy’s ride back to Cardalph to give to the prisoners because I knew it would only knock them out into a cold sleep but otherwise wouldn’t harm them.
With a weary heart thumping in my chest, I walked into the building with the ominous name of “cages.” My footsteps echoed as I walked the narrow corridor, using a lantern to light my way through the darkness. One by one, I silently freed the prisoners from their cages; however, I kept their chains shackled so they were connected to one large chain. I held onto this for dear life, so that none of them would be able to run or hit me.
I didn’t speak to them because I didn’t want to let on that I was going to release them and bring them back to their home planet. For the time being, I still wanted them to fear me.
We exited the cages and as soon as the light hit their eyes and skin they blinked in pain and tried to shield their heads from the sun. I could tell the exposure after being in the dark so long was excruciating at first. I gave each of them a bottle of water already holding the mixed sedative, and waited. Within minutes they had slipped into a deep sleep and were slumped on the hot ground below their feet.
Even though the Daklins were a feared species out in the galaxy, they were quite small in stature. These particular Daklins were even more feeble and slender after having been in the cages for several months. It was easy for me to put them in the back of a large truck and maneuver them onto the shuttle. One by one, I carefully buckled them into their seats on the aircraft.
With white knuckles gripping the steering wheel and a focused mind and heart, I flew us off into the universe for the one day trip it would take to fly back to the Daklins’ planet.
I made sure to land in a remote area of the Daklins’ planet so that for now, I would remain undetected to any of their police or army officers. Shifting myself into their green colored skin, I was careful to blend in with them before going out in public where I’d be exposed. I unbuckled the nine prisoners and unchained them from their handcuffs. They rubbed their wrists gratefully. I winced as I noticed that most of them had red open wounds where the cuffs had dug into their skin.
“Follow me off the ship. I am returning you safely to your families and your people. I wish to declare peace with your planet. Please take me to your leader. We must walk calmly and safely as to not bring forth alarm to anyone who is out in the open. If you try to run before I tell you that you are free to go, then I will tase you to the ground.”
I got nods from the prisoners and told them that if they tried to pull any stunts or harm me in any way I would kill them instantly. The fear in their eyes made me think that they believed I would actually kill them if they didn’t obey me, and I knew this plan would work.
After we got into town and the prisoners scrambled to keep up with me. I made my way into the bunker where the army force of police that the Daklins had created, was located. This policing force was a means in which they could be supervillains across the galaxy with impunity. Posing as one of them in my shifted state, I breezed past the guards and directly into the zone where the leaders kept their offices.
As soon as I walked into the dome-shaped atrium, I was met with stares. “Who are you?” I recognized the leader who spoke out as being part of the battalion who was on Cardalph during the war in which my father died.
Without answering, I raised my hands and said, “I come in peace. Please do not draw weapons upon me until you hear me out.” The leader looked at me in confusion as his other commanders drew near to him, forming a tiny circle of caution around me.
Slowly I shifted back into a Cardalphian right in front of them. My heart raced as I waited for their reaction, but I kept my arms free and high in the air, a sign of mercy and vulnerability.
The audible gasp of seeing me in my true form filled the air. “Please. Again, I come here in a state of peace. I have released the prisoners and they are right outside, waiting as proof. I wish to restore a sense of community among our species with your own. It’s time the universe came together.”
You could slice the silence with a knife. One of the leaders whispered to another, who nodded. He walked past me with a gun drawn and pointed at my head, but he didn’t fire, instead, he walked past me. He went outside and for a few minutes, we all stood there looking at each other, waiting to see what would happen. After a brief moment or two, he returned back to the atrium.
“He’s telling the truth. All nine prisoners are safe and accounted for.”
I sighed with relief when they holstered their guns back to their sides and away from my body. The ringleader spoke first. I had no idea what any of their names were. “What is the business you want with o
ur planet? Once stated, we agree to allow you to return home since you returned our prisoners.”
“Just to go home knowing no more lives have to be lost. I want to end the war, and it starts today if you agree.” Beads of sweat were forming on my forehead and I still had my arms raised to the sky. My muscles protested in pain, but I wouldn’t let up until we had a deal.
“We can accommodate a peace treaty, but it has to be in writing. Will you agree to sign today and then return to your planet and leave us alone?” The leader spoke again and his voice echoed through the large atrium.
“Yes, yes, I agree to those terms. I want to be a better leader for my people. They don’t want the threat of war hanging over their heads when they go to sleep at night. Let’s end the violence today.”
After signing the peace documents, I couldn’t believe how easy it had been to get the Daklins to agree to no more waged war. I only hoped that they would live up to their end of the bargain.
The next day, back home safely in Cardalph, I got word from some of my own military advisors that they had notified the people of Cardalph of my successful trip to the Daklins’ planet and that peace had been restored after the prisoners were freed and returned safely to their own families.
“Sir, you must come to the center of town, they are holding a special celebration for you.” Ranomik, my chief advisor and head of interplanetary relations was beaming with pride when he told me the news. With Cindy wrapped in my arms, we happily drove off to enjoy a day full of celebration.
I could never have expected the lavish party that was waiting for me at the Cardalphian Memorial Park when we arrived. The park had been dedicated to fallen soldiers of Cardalph over the years. It had biking and walking trails, as well as ponds and playgrounds for the children.
