“Okay, sorry,” was the only reply he got.

He settled back into his seat and let his mind wander, flitting between what he was going to do to the virgin girl and what he was going to do to his own daughter. Both things had him hard again in his trousers, and he moved a hand to brush against the hardness over his clothes, rubbing and feeling his arousal and his heart rate pick up.

Fuck, he wished he was back in his room with that little virgin in his bed.

  *****

Peri lay in the very large bed, completely and utterly satiated. Her mates had worked very hard to pleasure her, and she had several orgasms, one of which, she was only now coming down from. She lay in the arms of her Wolf and felt the heat radiate from his body. He was always so warm and wondered if it was a Wolf thing. She snuggled closer and felt his arms tighten around her.

Josef had left their bed and was now in the shower, if she had the energy, she would’ve joined him, but she was totally spent. She was pretty sure her own legs wouldn’t hold her up at this precise moment. She didn’t care, she was lying in the arms of her Wolf and she was happy. She would just lie here for a little while, a few minutes, then she would get up, shower, and dress.

There was no way she could stay here while her Vampire waited downstairs for any news. No, she would join him, keep him company, in a few minutes, yeah, another few minutes, she would stay in Gabe’s arms. She cuddled closer into his warmth.

Her eyes closed slowly and finally she slept.

  *****

Gabe held a finger to his mouth as Josef came back into the bedroom, shushing his friend, as their mate lay asleep in his arms.

“I’m scared to move, Jo, in case I wake her,” he whispered.

“Do not move then, get some rest yourself. I will waken you, if there is a need,” Josef said quietly, as he started to get dressed.

He pulled black jeans over his feet and up his muscular thighs, fastening them and turning to look for the shirt he had laid out earlier. It was also black, as were his socks and boots. He was going to make it as difficult as possible for any human eyes to see him, if anything happened later.

He had instructed all of the outside lights to be switched off, so that the Vampires and his Wolf friend had a distinct advantage, well in the beginning anyway. Peri would need light to see, but they could turn them on, only when she was ready to go outside.

He saw his friend watch him and he no longer had that cheeky look that was usually on his face. No, the Wolf was uptight. He could feel it coming from him, along with worry for their mate.

“She will be fine, Gabe, no matter what happens, I can assure you Peri will be fine. I will not allow anyone or anything to get to her. Trust me, Wolf.”

Gabe visibly relaxed, he had known the Vampire for over a century, knew what he was capable of. Knew that he would keep their mate safe from harm. “Okay, Jo, I’m going to be coming up the rear of them, so I won’t be next to her. Look after her for me, will you?” Gabe asked and Josef nodded.

“You do not even need to say those words, my friend. She is my one, my only, priority. Stay there, keep her in bed to rest, she is going to need it.” Josef left the bedroom quietly, switching the light off, as he left.

He slowly made his way downstairs in the dark, no lights were on inside now, and he welcomed his Vampire sight. He could see as clear as if it was daytime, and he moved towards the lounge area. His leather chair had already been moved and was sitting beside one of the large windows, so he could see outside. He poured himself a single malt and sat down, this is where he would stay until one of two things, either morning came or her father came.

Finbar and Margaret were using a small guest bedroom on the ground floor of the main house. He hadn’t wanted there to be any chance, whatsoever, that Margaret wouldn’t make it to the root cellar before trouble kicked off. He knew that Finbar would have her in the cellar minutes after being alerted to any incoming danger. He smiled as he thought of the large bear manhandling a protesting Margaret down into the dark, underground cellar. He had no doubt that the Vampire would do so. He loved that little woman deeply and would do whatever it took to keep her safe.

Finbar had said he was going to fight with them, and Josef had said that he should stay with his mate. The outraged look that came across the Irishman’s face was almost comical. “Ah’m not hiding away in a bloody cellar!” he had said, so Josef conceded, saying he could go to the stables and make sure the horses were fine and not hurt by anyone that came to get Peri.

Finbar still hadn’t been happy, but nodded his head and said “Aye,” before mumbling under his breath, as he walked away.

His mind floated off in a direction he had not ever anticipated. Gabe a father and he would be one also, even though it wasn’t his seed that produced the child. He was more and more convinced that their little mate was housing Gabe’s child. She hadn’t had a period, she had been sick, she was a little paler the last day or so. Yes, he was pretty sure she was pregnant.

How would she react, when she either realized this herself, or he told her? He hoped she would be happy, happy to bring a child into their unique threesome. It was easy to see Gabe with a babe in his arms...not quite so easy to picture himself in that scene. A long sigh escaped his lips as he thought he maybe...just maybe...might like to hold that child.

He shook his head and his thoughts moved to his guards. He knew Donovan and his men were scattered around the ranch, with one out watching the car on the main road, who he suspected would be Donovan himself. As soon as anyone joined them, he would call and report, giving them a heads up. It took quite some time to drive from the main road up to the ranch, and if they decided to come in on foot, that gave them even more time to be ready for them.

However, he had no intention of relaxing, even for a moment. He wouldn’t relax his guard now until this was all over and his mate was safe. He would do whatever it took to keep her safe. Whatever it took.

  Chapter 20

Peri was getting gently shaken, and she awoke with a start, her heart speeding up, as she realized that she had actually fallen asleep. Jeez, with everything that was going on, she had fallen asleep!

“Peri, you need to get up, baby.” Gabe’s voice was right at her ear, and she realized he was still holding her in the now pitch black bedroom.

“What? Is something wrong?” she asked, as her eyes popped open, and she rubbed at them to rid them of the sleepiness that was still there.

  “They’ve been spotted, don’t panic...”

She cut her Wolf off. “What? Shit! Okay, I need to get dressed...”

She sat up in the bed, trying to jump out of it, but Gabe held her tightly, close to his chest.

“It’s okay, we’ve got plenty of time, they’re coming in on foot, won’t be here for at least an hour. Come on, we’ll have a shower and get ready.” Gabe moved from the bed and took her with him.

She noticed Josef standing at the bedroom door, she was certain her Vampire had not slept, not for an instant, and she felt guilty that she had. She should’ve been awake with him.

“I can go a long time without sleep. You needed rest, you need to be alert for what is coming, my mate.” Josef spoke quietly, she smiled at him, as he left her view, Gabe pulling her into the bathroom.

He turned the shower on and took her into the hot water, lathering her body and cleaning her gently. “It’s gonna be alright, you’re strong, Peri, much stronger than you think you are. Anyways, we’ll all be there, too, you are not alone, Peri, never again will you be alone.” His tone was quiet and soothing, she almost believed him.

Josef was still in the bedroom, when they returned, both of them wrapped in towels, he stood at the large window, looking intently outside.

“You should dress in dark clothing, it will make you less of a target,” her Vampire instructed, and she moved to the enormous walk in wardrobe.

  Pulling dark jeans, t-sh
irt, and a dark sweatshirt, she usually used for her workouts, her army issue combat boots joined her ensemble and she dressed quickly. Her heart rate was picking up, as adrenaline started to enter her system.

“Calm down, there is still plenty of time. Donovan is following them in. He will let us know when they are near.” Josef was frowning, as he stared out the window.

He knew she had to do this, but fuck if it didn’t feel wrong. He wanted to take these sick fucks out himself, not wanting his little Witch to be anywhere near the firing line. He let out a large sigh, as he felt her hand on his back, rubbing gently in small circles.

“I have to do this, Josef,” she said quietly, and he could only nod.

  *****

They pulled up behind the car of the two guys he had sent a few days ago. Dave wasn’t traveling anywhere, unless they knew for sure she was where they had been told. Too many times in the beginning had he trawled all over in his search for her, only to get somewhere and find she was gone. Nowadays, he sent some of his men to check things out before he would put himself through any kind of uncomfortable journey in the back of his SUV. After the debacle in San Francisco, where he had lost two of his most powerful Mages, he wasn’t taking any chances.

That debacle had given him a warning, though. Vampires, she was in the company of those despicable bloodsuckers. He was glad that he had been alerted, and had spent the time searching and searching for something that would help him.

He got out of the back and moved towards his men, now standing outside their car. “Are you absolutely certain she is there?” He asked coldly.

“Yes, sir, absolutely, we saw her, more than once,” one of his men replied, far too quickly, trying to please him.

He could smell their fear of him, and he tried not to smile, the feeling rather intoxicating. “Okay, you and you stay here and the rest of us will go on in on foot.”

“Please let me come,” his passenger, his newly-appointed acolyte, said again with a plea in his voice.

“No, you stay and protect our rear, just in case. However, I will grant you sight of what happens. Come here,” he said, and the young man moved to stand in front of him.

Dave harnessed a spell and spoke the words quietly as his hands touched either side of his acolyte’s head. It was a simple spell for him and was soon done, the young man pulling back with his eyes wide.

“I’m looking at me? What’s goin’ on?” he asked, with more than a little awe in his voice.

“Simple, I’ve placed a spell on you, so that you can see what I see, you will be there with me, as I destroy that bitch,” he told him. The young man nodded his head with a smile on his face.

“Okay, let’s go,” Dave said to the rest, and they fell in behind him, they had no choice, if they didn’t, he would torture and kill them.

The more he walked, the harder his cock became, just the thought of seeing her again spiking his arousal so high, he wished they had brought a female with them. If they had, he would be taking her here and now on the ground to rid himself of his depraved need.

He laughed, as he walked, and he could feel the nervousness of the men at his back. They didn’t need to know what he was laughing about. Depraved...yeah, that was definitely what he was, and he was more than a little proud of that fact. His mind always thinking of acts that were worse than the ones he had already committed. God, he loved his power, a power that let him do whatever the hell he wanted to.

He smiled, as he thought on his power. He had no idea how he got it, or where it came from, only that it had first surfaced at puberty. He had already been a ‘troubled’ child, what with the bully of a father that took great pleasure in hurting him. When he first realized he had a power, he hid it from everyone, getting stronger, learning how to harness it, and as soon as he could, he made his father pay, in the most horrendous manner he could come up with.

That had been a good day.

Since then, his power had grown even further, and he reveled in it, using it to manipulate, torture, and carry out heinous acts on just about anyone he wished. The ones he particularly liked taking advantage of and hurting, as only he could, were, of course, the girls in their ‘family.’ The young passenger was up and coming in their sect, having only recently being appointed as his acolyte, and he had started to include him, only sometimes in his acts with the girls.

He had worried the young man would be horrified, but was pleasantly surprised to find that his tastes were akin to Dave’s. He even just watched sometimes, as the young man did his worst with whomever had been chosen for that night. He had even come to completion of an orgasm, just watching what the young man put the girl through. The screams that filled his bedroom were like an aria being performed, just for him.

His hardness was pressing against his trousers as he walked on, thinking of what he was going to put the little bitch through, when he finally got his hands on her. The damage done to her back would be like a feather tickle compared to what he was going to do to her tonight.

Dave’s smile widened, as he trudged on.

  *****

Peri was sitting in one of the comfy chairs in the lounge, her men in the room together with Liam and Finbar. Margaret was already in the root cellar, even though she protested very vocally, as Finbar had physically carried her to it.

They sat in darkness, and she realized her eyesight had improved greatly since the mating. Weird, she thought.

“Really?” Josef asked, having heard her thoughts.

“Yeah, it’s quite strange, but I can see really well, even without any lights on,” she answered.

“Hmm, that changes something then, if you feel comfortable with your vision in the dark, we will keep the outside lights off. Is that okay with you?” her Vampire asked.

“Yes, that’s fine,” she answered, and started to go over spells in her head, trying to figure out what she would do.

Donovan had called about five minutes ago and told them they were only about ten minutes from the ranch. Peri’s heart had started beating wildly until Gabe gave her an enveloping embrace.

“I have to go now, my mate, I’m going to join Donovan at their rear. Remember...you are strong...much stronger than he is. Don’t doubt yourself, or the power inside you.” He finished talking, gave her a passionate kiss, and then left.

Her heart ached at her Wolf’s departure, and she hoped he stayed safe.

“We will go outside now, you can decide where you want to stand, Peri. You get into a position that you are comfortable with, and I will be right at your side,” Josef said, as he moved from his place at the window and held his hand out to her.

“Ah’ll be right behind you,” Finbar said and Liam agreed, “Me, too,” as they made their way outside. Josef didn’t answer either of them, even though Finbar was supposed to be at the stables. He let the Vampire be, letting him make up his own mind, as to where he wished to go.

Peri looked all around, the area right in front of the house was quite a distance from the stables, she didn’t want any of the horses to get hurt. She moved onwards until she got to the edge of the house, then moved about thirty feet out from the building. She didn’t want the house to be in the line of fire either, Margaret was in the root cellar, and she didn’t want the woman hurt.

“Here,” she said, and Josef nodded his head, noting she was far away from the horses and the house. Good decision.

“Okay, now just concentrate on your power, build it up inside of you and think on what you want to do,” Josef instructed, and she nodded her head once.

She took several deep breaths in and let them out slowly before pulling the power inside of her slim body. She felt it growing inside of her, and she felt a little less scared. She could do this. She had to do this!

If she didn’t, she would be looking over her shoulder for the rest of her life, scared that ‘he’ would find her. Scared that in his quest to kill her, ‘he’ would hur
t people she cared about, people she loved.

She could not, absolutely not, allow that to happen.

  *****

Gabe’s Wolf ran swiftly over the uneven ground, his enhanced sense of smell finding and zeroing in on Donovan’s scent. Very soon he found the large Vampire, who was trailing the men making their way to the ranch.

He changed and started to walk beside the Vampire. “Any info I should know about?” he asked, and Donovan’s cold stare found his face, as if he didn’t see that Gabe was stark naked walking beside him.

“There are two left at the vehicles, I’m not bothering with them, at the moment. The ones in front are the danger to Peri, one in particular. He’s the one in front, and I can sense his power. He is, as Peri has told us, very strong in magic, I can scent it in the air all around him. The others following vary in their power, but mostly they are weak, both magically and physically. My men and I can take care of them easily.” Donovan stopped talking, as he took a deep breath in.

“What?” Gabe asked, sensing the Vampire wanted to say more.

“I feel...I don’t know...as if it’s wrong that we let her deal with this, Wolf. We should do it for her,” the Vampire said and looked to Gabe with a questioning stare.

“I know, I feel the same, as does Josef, but she needs to do this. You don’t know the full story, Donovan, and it’s not my place to tell that story, but all I can say is that she needs to do this, for her own sanity, as well as her own safety. Then there’s Daiki, he was her only friend, and we both saw what that fucker did to the old man, even if it wasn’t him personally, he ordered it done. She needs to revenge that death. Don’t worry, we’ll all be there, in case she needs us.” Gabe patted the Vampire on the back and saw a nod of the large man’s head.
