“What the hell is that?” she whimpered, as the thing brought her rampaging towards an orgasm.

“A little bullet,” Josef told her and she frowned.

“A bullet? What kind of bullet?”

“A little vibrator toy, it’s small and powerful, and shaped like a bullet – hence the name. I assume you like?” Josef’s tone was downright playful and she tried to focus on his words.

She couldn’t, just couldn’t, as her body erupted in a great wave of pleasure...it was the fastest she had ever reached an orgasm and she was shocked at how quickly Josef got her there. Her breathing was still labored as a new sensation hit her skin, something soft, a little tickly, being flicked against her already taut nipples.

The feeling was exquisite, and she tried to concentrate on it but failed as Gabe’s lips reached her inner thighs. A soft mewling sound escaped her lips, not a sound she thought she had made before, as his tongue darted out and teased her. She jumped again, her hips coming up off the bed before his strong hand flattened on her stomach and held her in place as he gave a low chuckle.

“Uh-uh, stay still,” he said just before his tongue found her clit once more.

She bit her lip as he touched the already inflamed area, still sensitive from the orgasm that Josef had given her. It felt...too much...as she tried hard not to move. He puffed out a breath, which fluttered over her in a whisper of a caress, making her moan once more, her head thrown back as the pleasure of his ministrations took hold.

Josef’s mouth now encompassed one breast while his hand played freely with the other, and she couldn’t stop herself from arching her back and pushing upwards towards his lips. He suckled her gently as she felt herself rise towards another orgasm.

Gabe lifted her legs over his shoulders as he moved upwards, raising her hips so he could gain access to her warm and wet sheath. As his large cock entered her slowly, she all but purred in appreciation. She tried to move with him, to match his thrusts, but again he held her still.

Josef must have released her bonds, as her hands fell down, and she instinctively reached for him. He untied the silk and took hold of one of her hands, moving it towards his own arousal, kissing her deeply now as she worked her hand on his hardness. She circled it with her fingers, teasing the top before grasping firmly and working her hand back and forth.

The resulting groan into her mouth told her just how much he was enjoying it. Her hand tightly held him now, moving quicker until his breathing labored, for just a second, as she felt his seed spill onto her hand. His kiss deepened as a growl escaped his throat, his mouth greedy on hers.

“You’re doing it again, baby! My heart’s gonna burst!” Gabe snarled as he thrust deep inside her, his hand now working her already swollen clit.

Josef moved her head slightly, his fangs slowly moving over her skin, then they pierced, driving deep inside as he fed from her. His bite took her over, screaming his name as Gabe yelled hers.

She wasn’t sure how long the three of them lay, arms and legs intertwined, before Josef removed the mask, her eyes blinking rapidly before focusing. Gabe was above her now, resting on his arms, as Josef lay at her side.

“Wow,” she said as she looked at the two of them, seeing the cheeky smile on Gabe’s face.

“So, how did you like your first taste of ‘the box’?” he chuckled, bending forward and licking a still hard nipple.

“I liked,” she laughed and Josef joined her, which filled her heart with joy. He laughed far too infrequently for her liking, and it was such a beautiful sound.

“Let’s get cleaned up, and you, little Witch, need to rest.”

Josef placed the items they had used back into the box. “I think we’ll leave this out here for now.” He turned and looked at her as he spoke, as if asking her permission.

She giggled as she got up, nodding her head vigorously before making a run for the shower.

  Chapter 15

“What?” Peri was sitting eating breakfast when Josef told her they were going to see Doctor Allen.

“I just want to double-check everything is okay, especially this business to do with magic. We’ll go later, once the lady from the department store has been here. She’ll be here soon. We can all sit down and go through everything we’ll need for the baby. Once that’s dealt with, we are going to see Doctor Allen, no arguments, Peri.”

She pouted, not wanting to visit the doctor again so soon. If he had told Josef what was going on, then that was fine with her, she was surprisingly calm about it all. She wondered if it was the hormones that were affecting her. Whatever it was, she didn’t care, she was grateful that the sudden loss of her magic hadn’t caused her to freak out. If it was indeed the pregnancy causing it, then she had no choice but to accept it. She didn’t see the point of going to see the doctor again.

She frowned, ready to argue some more when there was a knock at the door. Gabe got up to answer it, opening the door to admit a rather tall, plump woman who appeared to be in her late forties with her light brown hair tied back in a severe bun. She shook Gabe’s hand as she introduced herself.

“Hello, I’m Alison Burke, you can call me Alison, and I’ll be your personal shopper today. I understand that it is a pregnancy we are catering for, so I’ve brought all the relevant brochures.”

She held up a briefcase, the smallest of smiles on her face.

“Yes, that’s correct. Come and sit down at the table. Peri is still having breakfast, but we can go over things here.” Josef pointed to a chair next to Gabe’s, and the woman sat down.

She placed the briefcase on the table and started to pull out a host of different booklets, all to do with babies. Peri’s eyes widened as more and more appeared. How much did Alison think they needed for one baby?

“I have a basic list here of things that you absolutely require, and a list of items that you may wish to have, together with a list of extras that are also available.”

The woman handed out three lists to each of them as she spoke. Peri took hers and started to look at the ‘absolutely’ list. Most of it looked okay to her, though she noticed there were no prices for anything. Josef scanned the first list and handed it over the table and back to the woman.

“Those are acceptable, please order, any color preferences will be advised when we find out the sex of the child.”

“What? Who said I want to know? I’ve not decided on that yet, Josef.” Peri stared at him, then the woman, and back again.

Josef’s head was cocked to the side, as if trying to work out what the problem was. “It makes sense to know in advance, in order that the correct color schemes are bought. I didn’t think you would object to that.”

“I’m not saying I don’t want to know, I’m saying I haven’t decided yet. However, if you want to know so that the order can be amended, then that’s fine. Just don’t tell me if I decide I don’t want to know.”

“That may be difficult, baby, ‘cause I sure as hell want to know, and if I know, then you may see it in here.” Gabe was tapping the side of his head as he spoke. She frowned, knowing he was probably right.

Since their mating, she could catch glimpses into what he was thinking and feeling, and something as big as knowing the sex of their child... She was sure he would be thinking about it, a lot.

“This is something we can discuss later, guys, let’s just get this part over with, so can we agree that the ‘absolutely’ list is okay? Yes?”

“Agreed,” said Josef as Gabe nodded his head.

“Right, onto the next list. I’m looking here and there’s lots that are just frivolous, so let’s go down it and mark what we each think is warranted. Do you have some pens?” Peri asked Alison, who quickly pulled out several, handing one to each of them.

Peri only marked a few items on this list as she really thought most of it was just plain extravagance. She finished hers quickly, looking at her men. Josef seemed to be
marking a whole lot and Gabe had a huge smile on his face as he went down the list ticking just about everything, as far as she could see.

  “Stop!”

They did, raising their heads to look at her. “Guys, come on, it’s a baby, it doesn’t need all this extra stuff...really, it doesn’t. So I think this is where we compromise, okay? I see you are both ticking just about everything – so not happening! I’ve ticked what I think we need, Ms Burke, how many items are on this second list?”

“One hundred and twenty items, miss.”

Peri was sure she saw a spark of admiration in the woman’s eyes as she spoke. She gave a tiny smile before turning back to her men. “Okay, one hundred and twenty, most of which we don’t need, I’ve ticked about ten items, so that leaves one hundred and ten. You each get twenty and if you duplicate – tough!”

Josef opened his mouth, about to argue, saw the steely look she gave him, her chin stuck out as she tapped her pen on the table in a parody of standing and tapping a foot.

“Agreed,” he said instead, going back to his list.

“Jo, we need to work together here or we’ll end up picking the same stuff!” Gabe was stretching over the table, looking to see what his friend was ticking. “Okay, I see what you’re ticking, that’s good, we can do this, Jo. Jeez, Peri, where did the tough girl act come from?”

Gabe glanced between Peri's stern face, her list and Josef’s list, trying to make sure he didn’t pick something that Josef already had. It was pretty comical to watch, as she sat back, relaxed, and waited.

Only a few minutes passed before Josef placed his pen down. “Done,” he said and looked at Gabe who was frowning and biting the top of the pen.

“Gabe?” she asked and he turned to look at her, shaking his head then turning back to pore over the list.

“This is hard,” he mumbled before marking some more things and nodding his head.

“Okay, let me see what you picked.” She held her hands out, waiting on them to pass their lists to her.

“No, you said we could make our selections and that’s what we’ve done. It will be a surprise,” Josef smirked as he handed his list directly to Alison.

“Hah, too right, missy,” Gabe laughed as he handed his list straight to Alison, too.

Sighing loudly, Peri also handed hers over to a now smiling Alison.

Peri looked down at the last list. This was truly extravagant in the extreme, she just shook her head, laying her pen down. She could see nothing on that list that was required for a newborn baby.

“Come on guys, we don’t need anything from this.” She tried to sound serious, even if she was now smiling. Gabe’s enthusiasm was catching, he looked like an overexcited puppy.

“I reserve the right to spend some of Josef’s hard-earned cash for having the privilege of my company.” Gabe said this straight-faced and in a serious tone, which had her laughing out loud.

Josef’s lip twitched as he tried to stare down Gabe. “Oh hell, go on – do your worst, Wolf!”

“Oh dear lord, did you have to say that?! Gabe, don’t you dare buy any of that stupid stuff. Only stuff that we can actually use for the baby, please.”

She was trying not to laugh again, watching her Wolf’s eyes grow brighter as he turned to the last list. His hand flew over the page as he chuckled, a deep happy sound that filled the room.

Alison Burke sat with a wide smile on her face. Peri guessed she worked on commission and knew she was going to get a huge payout for a couple of hours work.

“All done.” Gabe handed the last list over, together with the half-chewed pen.

“That’s okay, you can keep that.” Alison refused to take the pen, but quickly took the list.

“Here’s my business card, as soon as you want to advise on color schemes just call. When you’ve got a delivery date, let me know, and we’ll have everything delivered and set up in plenty of time. I have to say, it’s been my pleasure today.”

She placed everything back in her briefcase, leaned over and shook everyone’s hand, then started for the door. Gabe beat her to it, opening the door and saying “Thanks,” as she left.

Gabe stood at the door, a look of shock on his face, as if he only believed it at that moment. “This is real, I mean really real!”

“It is, Wolf, you’re going to be a father.” Josef now held one of Peri’s hands as they both watched Gabe.

“No, we’re going to be fathers, this child is as much yours as mine, even if it was my seed that took root.” Gabe stared at his friend, his face as serious as either of them had seen it.

“Yes, you’re going to be our child’s father just as much as Gabe, you can share the load.” Peri’s eyes felt watery, but she refused to cry. This was a beautiful moment in their lives, and she wasn’t going to break down and cry like a baby...even if she wanted to.

“A father? Not something I ever expected. We were truly blessed when you fell into my arms that night, Peri. None of us could have imagined what was in our future. A family with an actual child. I see a lot of changes in our lives, a lot of changes.”

“Let’s get going, we’ve got the doc's to go to.” Gabe’s tone was a little worried, and Peri wondered why. After all, Josef had already spoken to Doctor Allen, and what was happening seemed the norm for a Witch and Wolf pregnancy, that is.

She was still surprised that she didn’t feel upset about not being able to practice her magic, but she truly didn’t. If going to the doctor’s again would put her men’s minds at ease, then that’s what they would do.

“I would love to let Tania know about the baby. Can you maybe get her up here for a visit when we get back?” asked Peri.

  Josef nodded, “Of course.”

He got up, following her and Gabe out the door, using his phone as he did so, letting the manager in the boutique downstairs know that Tania would be required later. As usual, he didn’t ask, just stating his request as if there would be no argument...and there wasn’t. Another perk of holding a very large stake in this hotel.

Donovan accompanied them on this trip, staying outside in the SUV as they visited the doctor. Josef was his inimitable self as they arrived, letting the receptionist know that they would not be kept waiting. Luckily, she advised the doctor was free and could see them straight away.

Peri was the most relaxed out of the three of them, with Gabe and even Josef seemingly uptight. Doctor Allen was very patient, advising again that this was sometimes a ‘side effect’ of a Witch and Wolf pregnancy. He also explained the tiredness was part of it, but would soon pass, which she was grateful to hear.

Just as they were about to leave, something popped into her head. “Oh wait, sorry, but how long is the pregnancy? Gabe says Wolves are usually seven months and I have no idea if a Witch is any different to a human, so I would kinda like to have an idea of when the baby is due.”

“Of course, well, Gabe is right, and a Witch usually is the same as any other human pregnancy. With it being mixed we can basically just keep an eye on it. We will do regular scans to give us information on how the baby is progressing, as the pregnancy advances we’ll be able to figure out a due date, or thereabouts.”

“Oh, well, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see, guys.” She looked between her men, both of whom were listening avidly to Doctor Allen.

“Afraid that’s the only information I can give. I’ve had some mixed pregnancies that deliver at seven months and others that have gone the full nine months. The scans we’ll carry out will let us know as you get further on. You have your next appointment, so I’ll see you then.”

“Obviously, if I have any further queries, I’ll call.” Josef’s tone told the doctor that he expected his calls to be answered, promptly.

“Absolutely, I’ll have my emergency phone with me at all times.”

“Good,” Josef said as they left the room.

  “You really are quite intimi
dating, you know that don’t you?” She snuck a peek at her Vampire’s face.

“Yes,” was all he said as they made their way outside.

  Chapter 16

Josef and his men kept the alert up, expecting the acolyte to attack at any time. So far he hadn’t, and there had been no sign of him at all. Ronan also checked in a couple of times, but only to advise they had no further information. He also let Josef know he was going to attend to the Dragon business personally. This pleased his Sire immensely, knowing that if Ronan was on the case it would be dealt with efficiently, quickly, and, if needs be, in a deadly manner.

It was now the night before Peri’s birthday, and Josef was wondering if she would like his ‘gifts.’ He and Gabe had spoken of what to do for the upcoming celebration. With her magic at almost nil it meant that Peri found it harder to read them. Gabe was astonished at what Josef had come up with and he knew, without a doubt, that Peri would love what was organized.

Peri was still tiring easily, but had spent the afternoon locked away in their bedroom with Tania. They both could clearly hear the giggles from both of them, plus the exclamations from Tania when she found out Peri was pregnant.

Gabe was sitting reading in the lounge. He loved thrillers and tried to figure out the plots and who was going to get killed, or who the ‘bad guy’ was. He also loved his Kindle, a great little gadget that meant he didn’t have to lug paperbacks around. In fact, he decided to buy one for Peri as an extra birthday present.

Josef was in his office, participating in several conference calls, but both could hear what was going on. Josef heard Gabe chuckling when Tania said she thought Donovan was hot.

Peri giggled and asked if she wanted her to ask him to go on a date with Tania, who squealed loudly and said she ‘would just die!’ if she did. Peri laughed some more and both her men were happy at the sound, hearing their mate laugh was one of the best things either of them had ever heard.
