“Let’s go to my place,” I said. “You’ll probably have to drive because my car might not start. I’ll make you something to eat.”
“No, I’ll make it while you rest your arm. You can tell me what to do. But it’d better be good organic whatever, not the yucky stuff, ’cause I’m starved.”
I knew that, because I was starving, too. And food could solve a world of problems.
Refusing my offer of help, Tawnia hefted Destiny, still sleeping in her car seat, and together we went to find the parking lot.
Maybe on the way home I would stop and buy a new pair of gloves to replace those I’d lost. You never knew when they might come in handy.

Rachel Ann Nunes (pronounced noon-esh) learned to read when she was four, beginning a lifelong fascination with the written word. She began writing in the seventh grade and is now the author of more than thirty published books, including the popular Ariana series and the award-winning picture book Daughter of a King.
Rachel and her husband, TJ, have seven children. She loves camping with her family, traveling, meeting new people, and, of course, writing. She writes Monday through Friday in her home office, taking frequent breaks to take care of kids or go swimming with them.
