Never. Not when she was the source of all he desired, all he craved. As he zeroed in on that softness, pushing himself between her splayed thighs, he was vigilant against his own strength.
Then he tasted her sweetness, felt the tender, trembling flesh against his lips and tongue. Ulof uttered a sobbing sound before drowning himself in her.
Piper cried out as the Imdiko’s tongue swept over her pussy, blasting her senses. His hands, big and calloused from old burn scars, gripped and squeezed her ass as he fed, bringing searing pain to mix with the ardor, concocting an intoxicating blend in her senses.
Ulof had no finesse as he shoved his tongue inside her, as his teeth dragged against her folds. He was raw, unschooled, awkward in lust. His eagerness turned him forceful, and her pussy ached as if he bruised her.
He was perfect. With his lack of skill and poise, operating on sheer want, Ulof chastised and adored her all at once. She adored his animal drive, pushing him past the uncertainty that left her aching for him.
Piper buried her fingers in his tousled mane, undulating against him so that excitement burst from her clit. She yelled and twisted her fistfuls of hair in reaction.
“Did I hurt you?” She’d startled Ulof out of his frenzied feeding. He stared at her, his lips and chin gleaming with her juices.
“No, don’t stop. I rubbed my clit and got carried away.”
“Your clit?” He licked his lips and gazed down at her pussy. “That’s where it feels best for you, isn’t it? Where is it?”
His naivety and urge to please melted her heart. While Piper wished him to be coarse, to use her with the harsh punishment she deserved, she realized Ulof needed to believe he did right by her. It might mean settling for a kinder version of sex.
She’d hoped for it to be more along the lines of what Nako had given her. But she couldn’t bring Ulof to the point she had and not make him happy. She was his first, and he was too unsure of himself already.
She untangled her hand from his hair and slid her fingers over her clit, moaning at the tumble of bliss that happened at her touch. “Here it is. This is where it’s good.”
She guided his hand to her, and he copied the way she’d touched herself. “Like this?”
“That’s amazing.”
“I can lick you at the same time I touch you here, can’t I?”
“If you want to.”
It turned out, he did. Piper settled in for pleasure without pain, an enticing encounter if not wholly satisfying. At least Ulof was thorough, claiming every drop of delight she offered. He stroked her clit and its shaft, sending delicious thrills to consume her.
He was doing well for a first time. Perhaps he wasn’t comfortable with being more forceful, especially since having sex with a woman was so new to him. She could accept this for what it was. After all, Ulof is not my judge, jury, and—
Her thoughts broke off as the Imdiko sucked her clit. Holding it hostage, he stroked over the top of it with his raspy tongue. Hard. Over and over. The sensation was so intense, it was impossible to know if he delivered rapture or agony.
Piper seized, her jaw straining wide with a silent shriek. Her body fought automatically, trying to buck Ulof off, struggling to escape. Fighting to break free before he destroyed her.
He held her down, his mouth latched on as if it had been sealed to her. He kept sucking, battering her with his tongue, delivering that wonderful, awful torture. Making her take it. Forcing her to endure the most incredible, horrific stimulation of her life.
Unspeakable pain and unbelievable ecstasy, all at once. She was helpless to stop it.
Orgasm blasted through her, hellish in its power, twisting her, contorting her. It unleashed her voice, and she shrieked with all her strength. And continued to shriek, as Ulof untiringly laved her clit, bringing endless waves of electric suffering.
At last, Piper remembered how to form the sole word her frenzied brain could dredge up. “Stop!”
Ulof immediately desisted. He sat up between her legs, anxious as she gasped and groaned in the aftermath. “What did I do wrong?” Defeat drove the light from his eyes.
“Just give me a second. I need to catch my breath.” And find somewhere to hide from Ulof and his devil tongue. Her clit, which she protectively cupped, fucking hurt.
As the worst of the anguished surges waned, however, Piper was aware of another sensation. A luminosity deep within, growing brighter with each passing second. As if something inside her, foul and covered with decay, had been washed so that it shone.
Purified. Immaculate. Cleansed.
“Piper, I’m sorry. I thought you liked what I was doing. I didn’t mean—fuck!” Ulof screamed and jumped off the bed. He punched his thigh, his chest, the side of his head.
“Ulof, no. Stop that.” Piper floundered to get off the mat, staggering on legs too wobbly to hold her up once she did manage to stand. She wrapped her arms around the Imdiko, to keep herself upright and block him from abusing himself. “I’m fine. I’m great. You were terrific.”
He blinked at her, disbelief and hope openly warring for control over his emotions. “I was?”
“Perfect. That was—that was everything I craved.”
It was true. He’d unknowingly punished her, seizing the pleasure she hadn’t deserved and making it the penance it should be. Forcing her to pay a portion of the debt she owed to all those she’d failed. Ushering her further down the path of forgiveness that Nako had led her to.
“Ulof. My wonderful Ulof.” Piper stood on her toes to pepper his confused face with kisses. “My perfect Ulof.”
His mouth slowly spread in a smile. It was sunshine breaking through storm clouds, revealing a stunning vista that had been lost in shadows. Ulof was exquisite when he smiled.
“But why did you tell me to stop then?” he asked when he could speak between his relieved chuckles and her many kisses.
“It was so good that it became overwhelming. I couldn’t handle it anymore.” True, in its way. Piper doubted Ulof was ready for the full weight of her issues and what she required to resolve them.
“Thank the Mother of All. I was sure I’d fucked up.” He laughed, his features boyish in the absence of his usual torment.
“Not at all.” She was giddy too, giggling like a young girl. “A success, right out of the gate.”
She hadn’t felt this unburdened, this free, in ages.
“What should I do now?” Ulof was eager to capitalize on his newfound ability.
She backed to the bed and stretched out on it. “Now it’s your turn to enjoy. Undress and fuck me.”
Her clit ached, but Piper welcomed that. Perhaps atonement via sex could continue, especially considering the thick, long cocks Ulof came to her with. She opened herself to him, and when he was close, she took him in her hands and guided him to the proper places.
No preparation. The throb of accepting him without it made arousal rise anew. She urged him to fill her, crying out with exhilarating pain when he did so quickly. The moment his expression edged in the direction of worry again, she reassured him.
“You’re how I want you. Don’t be gentle. Don’t be kind. Do it, Ulof. Fuck me hard, until you come.”
Bless the man, he tried to thwart her orders. His strokes were unsure, careful despite the naked need on his face. “I couldn’t live with myself if I injured you.”
“You saw the marks Nako gave me. I can take it. I want to take it. Go ahead. I promise I won’t break.”
Maybe Nako had warned him that she had a craving for penance that bordered on abuse. Ulof strove to be cautious. Piper was forced to pour on the seduction, to kiss him with fierce claiming, to drive her hips upward to greet him with violence, to nip and claw to incite primitive reaction.
At last, he bowed to their shared bestial instincts, driven beyond sense by her goading. Mauling her breasts so that he left his fingerprints, his fangs sunk deep into her neck, his cocks rammed her pussy and ass. Piper hung onto his neck for dear life, gloryin
g in the rapturous battering, surrendering to his assault with gratitude. When he came, shouting her name, she climaxed too.
Even in the midst of absolute fulfillment, Piper worried that her newfound link to Clan Nako would end all too soon. Surely her sins could not have been forgiven. Somehow, the three men who met her most desperate needs would be driven from her before she could realize the complete absolution they offered. She’d been driven from happiness too many times to trust in its presence.
Even so, she happily contemplated Ulof’s contented features afterward as they rested, tangled together on his bed. She could revel in the temporary joy, taking all she could get as long as possible and accepting the consequences later.
Chapter 16
After receiving an urgent summons from Piras, Nako and Terig flew a shuttle from their raider to his. Nako followed his Nobek out into the shuttle bay to find the admiral and Captain Kila waiting for them.
Piras returned their bows and paused for Terig to stop coughing before getting to the point of their meeting. “Captain Nako, I’m sorry to have had you come over for what amounts to a quick message. However, with us staying unphased to show Maf goodwill, I needed to be sure he didn’t intercept any coms.”
“Makes sense.”
“We’re leaving within the hour to alert Kalquor about the death ship situation and set up a distraction to confuse the Bi’isils once the Imperial Fleet arrives. I’m putting you in charge of the rest of my ships until I return.”
Nako stiffened. “You can’t do that. I abandoned the fleet.”
“Did you? It seems to me that for a deserter, you’ve been doing a lot for the empire. If you’re trying to outrun your duty, you’re doing a shitty job of it.”
“You’ve got a first officer that can hold the reins.”
“He’s excellent, but he’s inexperienced with raider tactics. I need you to command. Unless you decide to turn tail and abandon us to the fate our enemies have set?”
“I’m not going to stand by and watch Bi’is destroy Kalquor.”
“Good. Then, Captain, I leave you in command of my raiders and the battlecruiser.”
“Did you ever consider I might not want to be in charge?” Fleet Command turned their back on me. Why should I be a part of any of that world again?
“You’ll need my ships to keep Maf from doing anything stupid until I get back.”
“I would have done that in any case.” Nako cast about for an argument that would keep him separate from official duty but couldn’t find one, not with all that was at stake. He ached to punch Piras in that too-large jaw of his. He could only seethe. “You essentially had me come here just to repeat what I already know.”
Piras shrugged. “I thought you might need a face-to-face reminder that despite all your attempts otherwise, you still have honor. And a duty. Good luck with that, Captain Nako. For honor and Empire. Dismissed.”
Nako’s fists clenched. He came close to telling Piras what he could do with his duty and honor. Instead, he watched Piras sweep out of the bay, his intense expression telling Nako he’d already put their encounter behind him and was concentrating on his next obligation.
Kila chuckled, reminding Nako that the Nobek was still there. “Cheer up, Captain. At least you don’t have to live with him. Don’t worry; my men will follow your orders to the letter. For honor and Empire.” Still smirking, he left.
Nako stood in place for several seconds, trying to absorb this latest turn of events.
Terig didn’t help. “I guess we’re recruited once more.”
“Shut up.” He refused to talk about it.
As soon as they returned to their own ship, Nako and Terig went in search of Ulof and Piper. The hour was late, and the pair had agreed it might be fun to spend some of their sleeping hours in more active pursuits.
Nako felt badly that his Imdiko was missing out on the pleasures enjoyed by his clanmates with the Earthling beauty. Ulof was too unsure of himself to attempt to seduce Piper on his own.
My Imdiko deserves a woman like her. The thought startled Nako as he moved down the corridors. Was he thinking of sex, or was that stray notion indicative of more?
“She’s amazing,” he ventured to Terig.
“No shit. Ulof won’t know what hit him.” Terig laughed as they reached their quarters and checked the interior. “He’s not here. Let’s see if she’s already asleep or helping him in the kitchen.”
Piper’s quarters were closer, so they went there next. She wasn’t in her room.
“On to the kitchen,” Nako said. “I wonder what we should do with her once this matter with Maf and the death ship is dealt with?”
“I assumed you’d hand her over to Admiral Piras before you take us back out to refuse the empire our glorious presence once more. Or were you thinking of bringing her with us?”
“What if I was?” Nako stopped in the middle of the corridor.
Terig halted as well, his eyes rounding in shock. “Fuck, Nako. I was joking.”
The Dramok tried not to show his disappointment. “Yeah, it’s a dumb idea. Never mind.”
“No, wait. Don’t drop a bomb like that on me and then walk off. Are you thinking of clanship?”
“Hell, Terig. She’s only just showed up. Of course I’m not talking about that.” Nako ignored how his pulse had quickened at his clanmate’s words. “But if she stuck around…if things went well for say, a few months…well, who could say what might happen?”
“Hmm. I can’t deny the idea has appeal. Beyond sex, I’m attracted to her for several reasons.” He considered and shook his head. “This is no life for a woman. Especially not someone who’s gone through what she has. Piper deserves a real home. She deserves happiness, and she’s not going to get that stuck on this raider, avoiding the authorities.”
Terig’s good sense deflated Nako’s pleasant fantasy. “You’re right. She rates far better than what we can offer.”
“Unless we go back to Kalquor. Helping Piras, stopping the death ship—that will go a long way toward lessening charges of desertion.”
“After the fleet turned on us? After they tossed us aside like garbage?” Nako waved a dismissive hand.
“The fleet didn’t turn on us or throw us away. They decommissioned our ship, along with all the other raiders. You’re taking that far too personally, my Dramok.”
How could he not? In ending the era of the raiders, Fleet Command had told Nako that he and others like him were not worth its time. That he was meaningless despite all he’d invested in his duty.
Without another word, he set off for the kitchen again. Terig followed, wisely going silent.
The brig was on the route to the kitchens, and the sounds of fighting within could be heard from several yards’ distance. Nako and Terig sprinted into the cell block, joining the yelling Nobeks that crowded it.
Ob stood in the middle of half a dozen security personnel, all of whom hung on his massive arms and shoulders. With a bellow, the Tragoom flung his arms wide, tossing three of his assailants into the air to land hard on the floor. Groans, jeers, and raucous laughter filled the room as he picked off and pitched the other three after them.
“What the fuck?”
At Nako’s shout, every Kalquorian stood up straight and bowed. Ob snuffled and adjusted his loincloth, concealing a partially revealed cock the size and girth of Nako’s thigh.
Nobek Lopdod was on sentry duty again, and he approached Nako with the wince of a man who expected to have his face punched. “We thought you wouldn’t mind, Captain. The Tragoom has agreed to treat some of the security force to a workout. It’s a boon to have Ob around to test ourselves against, so we took advantage of the opportunity.”
Nako glanced to Terig, who as weapons commander, would determine any disciplinary action. His Nobek took in his disheveled, bruised and bleeding staff and snorted. “It looks as if he’s been handing you your asses.”
“Damned bastard is impervious. He might be small for his kind, but h
e’s tough as they come.”
Ob puffed out his chest. “Pain is nothing. I live through much pain serving the Bi’isils. You are the bites of insects.”
The room shook with the men’s laughter. One even smacked Ob on the shoulder, as he might a drinking buddy.
Nako relaxed and shot a glance at Sesin’s cell. That waste of skin sat in the corner of his enclosure, watching the goings-on with obvious hatred. He remained silent, however.
Dismissing the ousted commander, Nako evaluated Ob with a kindlier eye. “Hell of a show, Ob. I bet your fellow Tragooms wouldn’t tangle with you now. You’ll be able to put them in their place if they try.”
“Won’t go back to Trag. Hate them.” His tusked maw curled in a snarl.
“You know, I don’t think we’ve considered what will happen once we settle this death ship issue,” Terig said. “But you’ve done nothing that would warrant keeping you a prisoner. If you don’t plan to return to Trag, where will you go?”
It was obvious that Ob had given the idea much consideration, because he answered without hesitation. “Dantovon. Find work. Make good bodyguard for business owners or brothel.”
Nako grinned. “That you would. When we resolve this nonsense with Bi’is, I’ll transport you to Dantovon myself.”
Ob blinked at him, as if surprised. Then the breathing boulder attempted to bow to Nako, as a Kalquorian might, while the men cheered their approval. “I am grateful to you, Captain Nako. I show thanks by making your men strong.”
With that, he grabbed the Nobek who’d slapped him on the shoulder. Others piled on, and the match to overcome Ob was on once again. Nako and Terig shouted their support as the Tragoom wrestled with his new friends.
That damned Ob looked like he was having the time of his life. Maybe he was. Nako laughed and ducked as Lopdod sailed over his head.
Ob hefted another Nobek and readied to toss. Nako thought the struggling man would be headed his way as well—was Ob targeting him? Their gazes locked, and Nako waved in a come on gesture.
“Let’s see what you’ve got, Tragoom!” he encouraged.
