With regards Hunter, over the series I have placed him in situations where he has occasionally decided to bend the rules to either gain the upper hand or bring the culprit to justice, and throughout his escapades he has been able to call on his CID mentor and experienced detective Barry Newstead for help and support. (Barry was an old-style detective whose policing methods came from the 60’s and 70’s and they have rubbed off on Hunter) Followers of the HK series will know that Barry was tragically killed in Shadow of the Beast leaving Hunter without his reliable shoulder to lean on. In this book I wanted to experiment with how Hunter could cope without Barry and I have to say it has been thoroughly enjoyable developing his newly found determination when faced with the character of DCI St.John-Stevens. It takes him into new and interesting territory for the future.

I hope you have enjoyed this book. One of the ways you can let me know is by placing a review on Amazon or Goodreads. And, if you want to contact me, or want me to appear and give a talk about my writing journey at one of the groups you belong to, then please feel free to do so through my website. It has recently been updated and there are some interesting blogs about writing and Hunter Kerr.

  Thank you for reading.
