  “Hello?”

“Ma, it’s me, can I come home?” I sobbed.

“Kema is that you?” my momma asked in a panic

“Yes ma’am.” I answered sounding like a little girl

“Oh baby come home!” my momma shouted.

She didn’t even ask me why.

“I’m on my way.” I said and disconnected the call.

I pulled out the driveway and headed to get on the expressway. I was finally heading to the place I shouldn’t have never left in the first place. Katrina may have think she won the ultimate prize, but before I let those two muthafuckas live happily ever after, they were gonna feel my wrath!

It was the first game of the preseason for the Falcons and the stadium was packed. Since we were so close to going to the super bowl last season, our fans were just anticipating to see what we looked like before the regular season started. I always attended all the home preseason games supporting Eddie no matter what. We seemed to be moving forward from what had happened between us in the weeks earlier, and I hadn’t received any more phone calls so, all was well.

The kids were at the game as well and excited to see their dad play. Veterans never really played during the preseason, only the first quarter. We just came from the concession stand and went back to our seats which were right behind the player’s bench. The game finally started and we were all well into it. Eddie looked sharp the first quarter and the rookies were now on the field. I was so into the game that I didn’t hear EJ when he asked me a question.

“What did you say honey, I’m sorry I wasn’t paying attention.” I said to him

“I asked who that woman and two kids with dad’s jersey number on? Look what the back says ma!” EJ said pointing to the left side of us at the bottom.

I looked to where EJ was pointing and my heart sank into the pit of my stomach. I looked over to see a woman that he was talking about. What really caught my eye were the two little girls next to her. They were wearing jerserys as well, but theirs read, my daddy is unstoppable, and right underneath was Eddie’s number twenty-four.

  What the hell?

  TO BE CONTIUNED...
