DEATH OF THE UNIVERSE: BOOK TWO OF THE REALM OF ZERROS SAGA

Then John, in a moment of epiphany, had an instinct of what would happen next and as he saw Max running out onto the deck he grabbed him and pulled him back, and as Max realized what happened, he stood up and pointed his built–in gun at John’s face, and then John uttered the words, “I’m sorry Max, I don’t want you to see this.”
Then, in that moment a thin blue spear appeared in the hand of the beast and in the blink of an eye it thrusted the spear towards Ava, and in the last millisecond as Ava saw the spear coming towards her she started back peddling as fast as she could and she looked at the beast in fright and horror.
It was at this point that she knew that it was too late, and before she could use her ultra–abilities to defend herself, the thin blue spear penetrated the middle of her chest; and as she fell backward to the floor of the flight deck there was no doubt as to what the outcome of this most unfortunate event would be. And at that moment, the powerful beast then began to disintegrate in mid–air and with its sole purpose and mission now complete, piece by piece it began falling into the raging waters of the ocean never to be seen again.
Then as the vast majority of the people on board the carrier rushed back inside due to the panic of the unthinkable event, Sarah did the opposite and ran towards Ava without a second thought about her safety, and just as she was about to grab the blue spear and pull it out from Ava’s chest, the spear magically turned into a blue liquid and seeped into Ava’s body and as it did so, Stryker and Max ran out towards her to help in any way that they could. As they looked at Ava they could see that she was barely holding onto her life by a thread and she was still trying to breathe although it was very weak and faint.
“John, get an emergency kit!” Stryker shouted, but John just looked at him and kept slowly walking towards Ava with one purpose in mind – finish the mission.
Upon hearing Stryker’s request, a few superhumans went back into the carrier to find an emergency kit while others tended to Ava and others ran towards the silver knights as they waited for the golden, black and white knights to attack.
“What’s wrong with you John?” Max shouted, but John just kept looking at Ava in her helpless state without even making any attempt to help the stressful situation, then, to everyone’s surprise, John sat as close as he could to Ava while the others tried their best to revive her.
Then suddenly, one by one, the silver knights began falling from the sky above into the ocean below and as everyone, including the silver knights themselves who were still alive, but not for long, looked on in confusion, everyone was at a loss and every single human and superhuman ran back inside the carrier to protect themselves from what they knew was an inevitable death.
As everyone ran back into the carrier only Sarah, Stryker, John and Max stayed back with Ava as the world around them was falling apart.
As the silver knights, who Ava had miraculously resurrected back to life in the base of Lake Baikal continued falling, Ava’s breathing slowly came to a stop and as tears filled the eyes of her beloved friends, every single silver knight came crashing down to the ocean below. Then Max, in a state of panic, rushed towards her and in his confused state he began shaking her in a futile attempt to somewhat revive her but it was not to be.
As Stryker, Sarah, Max, and John looked around at the chaos that surrounded them; they knew fully well that this was the end as their beloved savior and protector lay helpless on the flight deck of the carrier. Then, as Ava continued breathing ever so slowly and took in one last gasp of air, she breathed her last breath and then died in Max’s arms destined never to return to earth again.
CHAPTER FORTY–ONE
As the black, golden and white knights saw the beast disintegrate right before their eyes and looked on as the army of silver knights fell into the raging ocean below; they, without as much as a second thought, started advancing towards the almost helpless carrier.
As they quickly approached, everyone on board the carrier prepared for their unavoidable death and Stryker, Sarah, Max, and John stood beside Ava’s lifeless body trying their best to protect it even in her death.
“They’re coming Stryker, what do we do?” Sarah asked.
“Have hope Sarah, have hope my love,” Stryker replied.
As Sarah heard those words she knew that Stryker was the man who she always knew he would be and she held his hand and said, “Death will never be the end of us, I will love you for eternity,” and Stryker looked back at her as his love for her filled his heart even in this most unfortunate of times.
Then suddenly, Max tried pulling Ava’s body to the inside of the carrier but John looked at him and said, “No Max it’s over, they’re coming for us,” and as Max looked in the not too far distance, thousands upon thousands of black, golden and white knights were heading towards the defenseless carrier with one mission in mind – kill everyone on board.
Then, out of nowhere, there was a loud noise that came from within the Invisible Dome, and then waves of electricity sparked around the dome and the protective shield that kept the betasapiens safe and out of harms reach was no more as the shield collapsed, and the water of the powerful and unpredictable ocean began to pour into Australia.
As Frank Brady saw what was occurring he was in shock as his world was falling apart and there was nothing that he could do to stop the tides of destiny.
He then shouted, “What happened, what happened to the dome?” and as the white knights in the main control room tried to contact the white knights that controlled the power supply of the Invisible Dome there was a voice on the other line, and it was none other than Milo.
“Hello,” Milo answered.
“The dome is down, restore power right away,” one of the white knights shouted.
“The time of the betasapiens has come to an end, and the evil of Frank Brady ends now,” Milo replied as he disconnected the phone line.
As the water of the ocean continued to pour into the dome; the black, golden and white knights that were on the cusp of reaching the carrier turned around and began to head back to the crippled dome in hopes of helping their creators – the betasapiens.
As they did so, in the distance a dark cloud of metal approached, and as they looked closer, they couldn’t believe their eyes as they saw a battalion of rogue knights of the underwater cities heading their way.
Be it guilt, or be it a last ditch effort to help the side of good, the rogue knights of Zanos and the underwater cities, who at first decided against helping the humans and superhumans now had a change of heart. And as they flew towards the betasapien homeland of Australia, they had one mission in mind, find Frank Brady and kill him along with those who sided with him.
As everyone within the now collapsed Invisible Dome ran for cover and tried to protect themselves. The rogue knights of the underwater cities landed in Australia only to be met by the black, golden and white knights, and as they battled on the soil of Australia, everyone knew that this was the end, and that in this epic and final war for the earth, there would be no winner amid the chaos and hysteria that littered the earth.
Then, in what would be the final minutes in the existence of earth and the universe itself, the entire sky started to turn blood red, and in the distance, everyone could hear a thundering noise unlike anything they had ever heard before.
As the fight between the rogue knights of the underwater cities and the black, golden and white knights continued, some of them stopped and looked up to the sky wondering what was happening. Then suddenly, in the skies high above the Invisible Dome, the fabric of reality began to tear apart, and through it came the vessel from Zerros, and in the vessel were the three covert sentinels, who were sent by Jinnack to bring the Phoenix back to her home.
As Usain and Roma saw the striking and astonishing vessel they were in disbelief, but as they looked at each other they somehow knew that they had to help those on the carrier from the strange and imposing, yet seemingly sublime vessel from Zerros that was hovering in the sky above while the u
tter chaos and destruction of the end of earth played out down below. They then began to fly towards the carrier, and on the flight deck they saw John and began to make their way towards him.
Then, in the chaos and panic of what was surely the final Armageddon on earth, many of the knights stopped fighting, and many betasapiens looked up at the reddish and crimson colored sky. Then suddenly many of the knights began to fly out of the dome and into the vast sky above to escape the inescapable while some of them stayed back to protect their betasapien masters.
Among those who were ready to take to the skies was Achilles, and as he looked at Frank, he felt somewhat of an obligation to help his master and the leader of the betasapiens. Achilles then walked up to Frank, put him on his back and as he looked up to the sky he said, “Where shall we go master?”
“Anywhere but here Achilles, anywhere but here,” Frank sadly replied.
Then just as Achilles took off to the sky above he was no more than twenty feet in the air when Milo came crashing into him and both of them as well as Frank came hurtling to the ground below. As they hit the ground, Achilles and Frank were in shock of what happened and just as Frank stood up, Milo grabbed him by his throat and lifted him in the air, and he then pulled out his knife ready to kill the evil Frank Brady.
“Milo, please let me go,” Frank pleaded, but Milo would have none of it, and as Milo readied his knife to thrust it into the black heart of Frank, Achilles came flying in and violently collided with Milo as Frank fell to the floor.
As Milo and Achilles fought and Frank looked on, their armors of metal clanged, and Milo said, “My fight is not with you Achilles, my fight is with Frank and I will kill him.”
“He has done much wrong but he is my master and it is my duty to protect him, I am not like you Milo, I am not rogue and I am not a traitor,” Achilles said.
“Please Achilles I do not want to kill you,” Milo pleaded.
Upon hearing those words Achilles pulled out his gun and began shooting at Milo and as Milo ran for cover Achilles quickly flew back to Frank and as he tried a second time to fly away with his master, Milo flew towards Achilles and grabbed him by his foot and threw him to the ground. As Achilles fell, Milo jumped on him and quickly reached under his neck and powered him down before Achilles could fight back.
Upon seeing that, Frank began to run and Milo quickly caught him and held him by his neck as Frank pleaded with Milo to not kill him, “Please Milo, please do not kill me.”
“Why should I not kill you, you’ve killed millions of humans and you even killed your own wife. This Frank, this is not from me. This is from Roma for what you did to Bridget; her one true love,” and upon saying those words Milo took out his knife and plunged it into Frank’s chest instantly killing him.
As Frank died, Milo threw him to the ground feeling relieved that he had killed the leader of the betasapien empire. Then as he looked around and saw the carnage, he then looked up to the sky above and he knew that this was the end.
In the distance not too far away the salty water of the ocean began making its way to the core of the Invisible Dome and as it became flooded, the betasapien homeland was almost buried underwater. Milo then sat and said the Lord’s Prayer and waited for what he wanted his entire life – to return to his Creator.
Meanwhile, as Usain and Roma made their way towards John they saw him dragging the motionless bodies of Max, Stryker, and Sarah to lay beside Ava, and then John himself sat beside the bodies and looked up to the sky at the vessel from Zerros and waited for them as though he knew who they were and what they wanted.
As he sat he pondered upon his dream where Luanne said to him, “The light is now within you John, now you must go, they are coming, and they want to destroy us all,” and as he sat looking at the vessel he finally fully understood what Luanne had said to him and wondered how she knew about the strange beings from the unknown realm who wanted to destroy everything.
As Usain and Roma landed on the flight deck, John saw their faces and he knew what he had to do.
“Help me,” John said, and as Roma leaned forward to look at Stryker’s body, John reached under her neck and powered her down and she fell on top of Ava’s dead body.
As Usain saw that he drew his weapon, “What are you doing? We’re trying to help you,” he shouted at John.
“Follow me, just as they followed you into mud lake Usain,” John said.
“How do you know about mud lake?” Usain asked, curious to know how John knew about their hiding spot within the dome.
“She told me,” John said pointing at Ava’s dead body as Usain looked at him in an utterly confused state.
“They’ve come for us,” John then said to Usain as he pointed to the sky in the direction of the unfathomable vessel from Zerros.
“Who are they? What do they want?” Usain shouted.
“They’re searching for her, and they’ve almost found her, it’s time to go, come with us,” John continued saying.
“What about my fellow knights, I have to go back and help them,” Usain replied.
“Everything will be destroyed Usain, and nothing will survive, come with us. The life of the universe is over,” John said as the earth and everything in existence within the universe, including the universe itself was now mere minutes away from destruction and extinction.
As Usain looked up to the sky the noise was getting louder and louder, and the entire sky itself was now blood red, and as the Zerrosian vessel came closer a light within it shone towards Ava and her group of friends.
As Usain saw the light he somehow knew there was only one choice to make and he screamed at John, “I will come with you, this is my fate,” and as he said those words he walked towards John and powered himself down.
Then, as he did so, John, with what little strength he had left dragged Usain’s body close to Ava’s body, and then in his final act on earth; John, the young man who started this journey back in Denver in hopes of helping Dean find Jonah and Ava, pulled out his laser, and he then sat beside Ava and put the laser to his neck and pulled the trigger.
Then, as the magical light locked onto the group which included Usain, Roma, Sarah, Stryker, Max, John, and a lifeless Ava, they were instantly transported onto the Zerrosian vessel and then within milliseconds of them being transported onto it, the vessel entered the open fabric of the sky from where it came from and exited it and began its treacherous voyage back to Zerros with the Phoenix and her friends on board.
Back on earth, as the fight within what was left of the Invisible Dome continued and the ocean continued its torrid drowning of a once powerful betasapien empire, everyone looked to the skies of red above, and as the sun became engulfed, it itself began to turn blood red and then in a magnificent display of majestic proportions the sun exploded.
And then within seconds, the earth and everything around it was destroyed and the rest of the universe continued its great spiral of death, destroying everything within it which included galaxies, planets, suns as well as all forms of life, which in essence was what made up the universe itself.
As the earth melted from the explosion of the sun and disintegrated into nothing, every form of life which included humans, superhumans, knights and betasapiens amongst the many, many other forms of life in existence were now extinct and the universe known as the Xerrolux was now dead and diminished to complete nonexistence and absolute nothingness after billions upon billions of years in existence.
Meanwhile, on a plane of existence far removed from anything that the human mind could comprehend or contemplate. An unknown life form had finally reached the end of its immaculate and wise existence, and as its life came to a slow and amazing end, so as well did the lives of trillions upon trillions of life forms that existed in places beyond our wildest and most inconceivable dreams in a reality that dwarfed the now deceased Xerrolux and everything within it.
CHAPTER FORTY–TWO
As Ava’s lifeless body lay in the Zerrosian vessel, the liquid of
the blue spear flowed throughout her. Her consciousness was now in the realm between life and death, and Ava awoke to find herself back in her room at the family apartment in Denver.
As she awoke she looked at herself in the nearby mirror and touched her face, and she then ran her hand through her hair and began walking over to the window and looked outside at the empty streets below.
As she looked up to the sky, she saw the sun shining bright, and she somehow knew that this was the final time that she would see the mammoth star known as the sun. She was then suddenly startled as there was a knock on her bedroom door.
“Ava, it’s time for breakfast, come on hurry up, we have to go. They’re waiting for us,” Jonah shouted.
As Ava heard his voice, a wave of emotion came over her, and she ran to the door hoping that the voice she heard was indeed Jonah. As she opened the door, the small hallway was empty, and for a brief moment, she thought that Jonah’s voice was just a figment of her imagination.
Then, to her surprise and delight, Jonah popped out from around the corner and said, “Come on Ava, mom made soft–boiled eggs for us, hurry before they get cold,” and with that, Ava swiftly walked towards the kitchen and to her surprise she saw her father Dean and her mother Luanne in the kitchen preparing a wonderful breakfast.
“Good morning my precious little girl,” Luanne said to Ava as she walked over to her and gave her a hug and a kiss.
Dean then also gave Ava a morning hug and kiss as he brought the food to the table, and then all four of them sat at the table ready to eat the delightful breakfast that Dean and Luanne prepared for them.
As they sat and enjoyed the meal, Ava looked at her family knowing that something was amiss but she couldn’t comprehend what was occurring other than the fact that she was having breakfast with her family who she knew were all already dead.
“What’s on your mind Ava? You seem confused,” Luanne asked.
