A Starr is Born Page 16

Harrison smiled and rested his head back on the seat again. “Okay, it’s all good. I am kind of tired. But let’s see if Gregory can stay with us tonight. I like him. Do you hear that, Gregory? I like you. You’re a cool guy. Would you stay with us tonight?”

“Thank you Mr. Parker,” Gregory said. “I appreciate that. I like you, too.”

“Good,” Harrison said. “And call me Harrison. Mr. Parker was my dad.”

Morton couldn’t help but laugh at that. The thing he’d always loved most about Harrison was that he was funny even when he wasn’t trying to be funny. “Oh go to sleep. You need to rest.”

After Harrison mentioned Gregory spending the night with them, there was a moment of silence followed by Morton looking down at his phone. Gregory didn’t reply, and Morton wasn’t sure how Gregory felt about spending the night. Gregory probably didn’t want to get involved with them and Morton didn’t want to make him feel uncomfortable, so he decided to check his social media accounts on his phone to see what people were saying.

The interesting thing about social media was that he could never predict how people were going to react. However, he was starting to notice a few patterns that didn’t seem to change. As he scrolled through comments on several of the most popular social media outlets, he discovered that some were praising Harrison as if he’d just invented bottled water, and others were slamming him as if he’d killed a puppy. And that was the typical pattern Morton found the most fascinating. He’d noticed it with politics and other topics that trended, too. The older followers who were part of the baby boom generation typically didn’t appreciate Harrison’s behavior and they were vocal about it. They accused him of being unprofessional, arrogant, spoiled and a bad example of what they all thought a rock star should be. As if there were written rules about how rock stars should behave. It was as if Harrison had gone against everything they’d been told to believe, and they resented him for not playing by the rules. In almost total direct contrast, younger followers, mostly millennials, were ready to lift Harrison up to superhero status. They praised his actions and admired his honesty. They liked the fact that he wasn’t a hypocrite. It was as though they wanted to see more people in Harrison’s position stand up and fight for what they believe in. The worse Harrison behaved, the more they wanted. And of course some people thought Harrison could do no wrong as long as he was with Morton. Most of the photos they were posting and sharing were of Morton wearing the outrageous Grammy Award costume of red high heels and lingerie.

While he was still scrolling through the comments on his phone, Gregory asked, “Is everything okay. I’m assuming you’re reading about what happened tonight.”

Morton sent him smile and said, “It’s not that bad. I was worried, but there seems to be a balance between positive and negative.” Of course he knew none of this would help Harrison’s dying career in the music industry, but he didn’t want to get into that with Gregory so he made it all sound positive.

“Good,” Gregory said. “I’m glad. I’m sure it will all blow over by tomorrow.”

“I am curious about one thing, though,” Morton said. “Maybe you can help me understand something.”

  “I’ll try.”

“I’ve never once had the urge to punch someone in the face,” Morton said. “I despise physical violence of any kind. I can’t even imagine punching someone in the face. But guys like you and Harrison seem to do it all the time. Just how does that work? Do you enjoy punching people in the face?”

Gregory laughed. “It’s hard to explain. Sometimes it’s the only thing left to do. I don’t really think about it.”

“I see,” Morton said. He really didn’t see or understand any of it, but he knew he wasn’t going to get an answer from Gregory.

  “Do you?”

  “Well, not really,” Morton said.

“That’s a good thing,” Gregory said. “Don’t ever change.”

About an hour later, the wind turbines came into view and Gregory pulled off I 10 and headed toward their home in Palm Springs. It was only a few miles and it didn’t take long to reach the gate that would lead them to the front door of the main house. When Gregory stopped in front of the house, he opened his door and said, “I’ll help you walk him inside.”

“Oh, you’ve done so much already,” Morton said. “I hate to be a bother.”

Gregory waved him off and said, “I’m fine. I don’t mind in the least,” and then he climbed out of the car and opened Harrison’s door.

Morton walked around to the other side to help Gregory wake Harrison up. Morton was still wearing Gregory’s jacket and he made a mental note to make sure he remembered to give it back to him. Sam had texted him in the car that he’d picked up Morton’s jacket and satchel backstage where he’d left them at the awards ceremony. He said he’d drop them off at the house tomorrow sometime.

They didn’t have to work too hard to wake Harrison up and get him inside. That short nap in the car had made him more lucid and steadfast. Gregory didn’t really have to help him at all. He simply stood by his side and made sure nothing happened on the way upstairs to the master bedroom.

Nico greeted them at the door, followed them upstairs, and watched every move Harrison made. Nico wasn’t the kind of dog that jumped around and barked whenever they returned to the house. He greeted them as if he’d expected them back, and he never lost an ounce of decorum. He showed them how happy he was to see them by wagging his tail, rubbing his face against their legs and licking their hands. He seemed to like Gregory, which Morton took as a very good sign. He’d always believed dogs could sense things about people and they knew when someone was good or bad. To his credit, Gregory was wonderful with Nico and he’d obviously been around dogs all his life. When Nico licked his hand, he actually bent over to kiss the top of Nico’s head.

As they approached the king size bed, Morton said, “You’re very good with dogs.”

Gregory laughed. “I like dogs more than I like people sometimes.”

Before Morton could reply, Harrison kicked off his boots, yanked down his jeans, and said, “Stay here tonight, Gregory. Get naked and sleep with us.” He looked at Morton and wiggled his eyebrows in a playful way.

Morton shook his head. “Don’t put the poor guy on the spot that way. I’m sure he would rather go home than deal with a couple of outrageous performers who can’t even get through the Grammy Awards without causing drama.” He wasn’t mad. He was used to living this way.

Gregory shrugged. “Actually, I could stay over. I don’t mind. This huge king size bed looks very comfortable.”

“Good then,” Harrison said. “It’s settled. Gregory’s sleeping with us tonight.” Then he stripped down to nothing at all and climbed into bed naked.

Gregory shifted a glance to Morton and asked, “Is it okay if I stay? No one asked you yet.”

Morton wanted nothing more. He walked up to him, rested his palm on his chest, and kissed him on the cheek. He knew where this was leading. “I’d be disappointed if you didn’t stay.”

While Harrison sat up in bed and watched, Morton and Gregory undressed in front of him and they started kissing before they even climbed into bed. Nico went over to his little doggie bed and went to sleep. He was such a good dog that way. Never a bother and never caused them a moment of stress. Morton knew this was because Nico instinctively trusted Gregory and he knew there was nothing to worry about. If Nico hadn’t trusted Gregory he would have been showing his teeth and growling. No one could rest a hand on Morton unless Nico trusted them.

Gregory had the kind of look Morton had always found attractive in a man. His hair was short and blond, his body muscular and beefy, and he didn’t primp and manscape the way some men do. He wasn’t overly hairy by any means. He just had enough hair on his legs and chest to make Morton’s heart race a little faster. In many ways, he reminded Morton of a younger version of Harrison. The only difference was that Harrison’s hair was a little darker and his features a little
more angular. And even though Morton had always been more gender neutral, he didn’t mind at all when Gregory grabbed him by the waist, yanked him down on the bed, and climbed on top of him. He wasn’t rough or violent about it. He had a gentle but forceful approach and he didn’t seem to care about hiding his truest desires. He obviously wanted to dominate Morton, and he seemed to know that Morton didn’t mind being dominated. This was something unspoken that happened on its own and Morton had come to understand it as being unrelated to gender. He knew there were women who could be more dominant than men in straight relationships, and gender had very little to do with what people needed and craved with sex.

After they established the fact that they were all on PrEP and didn’t have any sexually transmitted diseases, they knew it was safe to fuck. Morton was still flat on his back and Gregory and Harrison were kneeling over him by then. Harrison knelt beside his right shoulder and Gregory beside his left. He reached up and grabbed their balls at the same time and pulled Gregory toward his face first. He took Gregory’s dick in his mouth and started sucking it slowly while Harrison watched closely. A few minutes after that, he pulled Harrison to his face and he started sucking Harrison’s dick.

They both got a little more aggressive and tried to shove both their dicks in his mouth at the same time. And he tried to take them both at the same time.

The foreplay lasted longer than usual and Morton always wound up in between the two men. They all fell back and kissed at the same time, covering Morton with their heavy legs and taking turns shoving their tongues into his mouth. They passed him back and forth, they grabbed and pulled his entire body, and at one point they even lifted him up and turned him around. That’s when he knew they’d have enough foreplay and they were ready to fuck. So he braced himself on his hands and knees in the middle of the bed, spreads his legs, and arched his back to show them he was more than ready to take what they had to give.

There was no outright dirty talk that night, but Harrison did watch closely when Gregory lubed his dick and slowly entered Morton from behind. As he watched Gregory slide into Morton’s body, he said things under his breath that sounded like, “Fuck yeah. Fucking hot, dude.” It wasn’t obvious or obnoxious, but it seemed to encourage Gregory to continue.

Then Harrison moved up to slide his cock into Morton’s mouth. While Gregory fucked him from behind, he took Harrison all the way and pressed his nose against Harrison’s pubic hair. He’d always been good at this; never gagged once. However, there wouldn’t be much oral sex with this encounter. After a while, they started taking turns fucking him. Gregory would pull out of Morton’s ass, and he would trade places with Harrison. Morton did what they expected him to do, and he found pleasure and following their directions and taking their cocks. Sex had always been so many different things to Morton that he’d never been able to process it all completely. For him it was about men, dick, fucking and being treated the right way. Even though they were aggressive in their approach, he knew they were taking good care of him and he trusted them. They weren’t just trying to please themselves. They wanted to please him as well, and they took their time showing him by the way they touched him, the way they held him, and the way they responded to his gestures.

At one point, when they were all close to climax, Harrison said, “Let’s double fuck him.” Then he reached over and slapped his ass.

Although Gregory had stopped fucking him, he was still inside and he wanted to know how Morton felt about that. “Is that okay?”

He’d never been double fucked. He’d seen porn where two gay tops double fucked a bottom, but he’d never done it himself. “I’m not sure,” he said. “I guess we can try it and I’ll know then.”

They must have been eager, because they didn’t wait for him to elaborate. He could hear them breathing heavily and they were both sweating. The next thing he knew Harrison was on his back in the middle of the bed with his head resting on the pillows. He was on top of Harrison, straddling his pelvis, kneeling with his legs spread in an upright position. Gregory was behind Morton and he was holding his dick and Harrison’s dick in his right hand.

Then Morton pressed his palms against Harrison’s chest and he leaned forward to make things easier for Gregory. While he arched his back and Harrison grabbed his chest with both hands, Gregory forced both dicks into Morton’s hole slowly. It hurt a little at first, and he wasn’t sure he could do this. But then Harrison started to moan and Gregory grabbed his waist and he knew there was no turning back now. The pain left him and he sat all the way back on their dicks and sighed aloud. What he experienced that night was more than just physical pleasure. The emotional thought of taking both men inside his body at the same time brought him so close to climax he had to steady himself so he wouldn’t come before they did. They must have been experiencing something similar, because the moment he started riding both dicks at the same time, they grew more aggressive. Harrison squeezed his chest harder, and Gregory slapped his ass so hard he felt the sting in his jaw. And the only thing he could think about at that point was both of them coming inside him at the same time.

One of the most pleasurable experiences for Morton as a gay man had always been when a man came inside him. It always brought him the most pleasure during any sexual act, emotionally and physically. Before PrEP, he’d used condoms and they weren’t that bad. But for Morton nothing could ever compare to having a man’s come inside his body. And his men didn’t disappoint him that night. They both came inside him within seconds, almost at the same time, and he came a few seconds after that. It was the kind of orgasm that lasted longer than others, and he felt it in every part of his body. And when they were finished and he fell back on the bed, they both climbed on top of him at the same time and took turns kissing him.

Harrison said, “Damn, cutie. That was awesome. I love you.”

“I love you, too,” Morton said.

Then Gregory kissed him and said, “That really was amazing and I really like you.”

Morton squeezed his huge bicep and said, “I’m glad you stayed. I like you, too.”

A few minutes later, Morton climbed out of bed so he could use the bathroom and clean up the mess they’d made. When he returned, he found them both in bed waiting for him to climb in between them. He hadn’t been sure if Gregory would still be there or not. In most cases, when they did a three-way with another guy, the guy left right after the sex was over. Gregory seemed content to spend the night with them and Morton climbed between them and said nothing. He didn’t mind and he was hoping he’d get to know Gregory better. He’d done three-ways by then with Harrison and each time he couldn’t wait for the other guy to leave. When the sex was over, everything was over. It was different with Gregory and Morton wanted him to stay the night this time.

  Chapter Twenty

“Then we’ll do it again and again until we get it right,” Morton said. “Now pay attention to me and learn something, or I’ll get someone else to do it.”

They were rehearsing a new number for a concert and Morton was talking to a new guy on the keyboard. He was trying to explain how he wanted the song to slide gently into another key when they hit the bridge and he felt as if he were talking to a slab of granite. This was a love song that was filled with emotion and grace and Morton wanted it to be perfect. There were easier arrangements that could have been done, however, Morton preferred this complicated arrangement.

They guy on the keyboard sent him a blank stare and said, “I thought it was smooth.”

Morton glared at him, but he didn’t raise his voice. “Well you thought wrong. Let’s do it again. Pay attention and you’ll learn something.” They’d been rehearsing the same song for four hours and this guy still didn’t grasp what Morton wanted. Morton meant what he said. They would rehearse this for 10 hours until they got it right, because rehearsal for Morton was what made him feel comfortable on stage.

Before the guy could reply, Sam walked up to the stage and smiled at the guy. “I know he’
s not easy to work with, but if I were you, I’d listen to him. He’s a pain in the ass, but he’s usually right about everything. You won’t regret it.”

Morton turned to his left and saw Sam standing there. He hadn’t seen him since the Grammy Awards and he wanted to talk to him. Sam had been in New York working with a new band he was trying to promote. He threw his arms in the air and said, “Let’s take a short break everyone. I have to talk to Sam.” He knew Sam was coming to Palm Springs that week, but he didn’t know it would be that afternoon.

Sam walked over to him and said, “You were awfully hard on that keyboard player. He’s just a kid.”

Morton flung him a look. “It’s not his ass that’s on the line here if everything’s not perfect. It’s mine. I’m the one who takes the heat. And I’m going to make sure this new song is better than anything I’ve ever done before.” He didn’t want to admit this aloud, but he’d been working on his own for the last few months and he didn’t like it. He was the kind of performer who needed direction to feel secure, and he’d always had that direction from Harrison. But Harrison had decided to stay home in Palm Springs and work on his own music, and now Morton had to deal with everything alone. The only way he knew how to do that was to work for absolute perfection. Although Harrison punched photographers and cursed at the media in public, and he’d been known to show up late for everything, all his flaws disappeared when he worked. He treated the musicians and the crew with finesse and respect and he knew how to get them to do things without them even realizing they were being manipulated. He was an artist on stage, but he was a genius when it came to production, and Morton felt totally lost without him. But even more important, Harrison always knew what was right for Morton and Morton had come to depend on his opinions and his honesty. Without Harrison around to direct him, Morton wasn’t sure if he was doing something right or wrong.

“Maybe you’re working too hard,” Sam said. “You’re supposed to be having fun doing what you love. Maybe you need a little break.”
