All I Need (Vol.2)

I couldn’t get Lindsey out of my head, as much as I tried. When I thought about sleeping with her, I got an instant hard-on. I had jerked off to thoughts of her more times than I wanted to admit. But now she didn’t even want to give me the time of day. That wasn’t something I was used to from women, but I couldn’t blame her since she found out I was married. Even I had my limits when it came to the women I fucked. I wasn't a home wrecker.

This whole issue with my so-called wife was another part of my personal life that sucked. I hoped to hell she came back with proof one way or the other so we could settle this. Until we did, there was going to be a black cloud hanging over me. If the press got wind of this, I would be fucked.

It was early evening and I didn’t know what to do with myself. After my binge last night, I wasn’t ready for another drink yet. Our show was tomorrow night and the press had really been hyping it up. There was no way I would be able to go out onto the strip without being mobbed, and I wasn't in the mood to be gracious to screaming women pawing me.

I found myself wandering the hotel and, without even realizing it, I ended up on Lindsey’s floor. Maybe I was a fool, but I wanted to try to talk to her one more time. I wasn’t sure what I was going to say, since I still really knew so little about the situation, but something inside of me couldn’t leave her alone. Guess I was a glutton for punishment.

I turned down the hallway leading to her room and stopped dead in my tracks when I heard a couple laughing. I walked slowly around the corner and saw what looked like a guy leaving her room. I walked a little closer, hoping my eyes were deceiving me. My heart dropped when I realized it was indeed Lindsey.

She looked like she was naked, with a sheet wrapped around her luscious body. The stark white of it was a striking contrast to the red of her hair. She giggled and wrapped her arms around the guy’s neck before giving him a kiss. Her sheet started to fall away, and he held it back up to her while they both laughed.

“What the fuck?” I whispered when I figured out the guy she was hanging all over was Drew. She fucked Drew? What the hell?

It appeared Drew was trying to leave, so I hung back and waited for him to go. I managed to hide in a nearby hallway until he walked by. I waited until I heard the ding of the elevator closing before I went to her hotel room door. I was more than a little bit annoyed that she was mad at me for the way I behaved with women, when it was becoming apparent she wasn’t a whole lot better with men. My antics were more publicized because I was famous.

Now she had moved on to Drew. I thought she had a thing for rockers, but I guess she didn’t discriminate. He always dressed like he came from the golf course, fucking preppy. He was the opposite of me, but maybe that’s what she was going for.

I knocked on her door loudly. “Lindsey, answer the door. I know you’re there.” I wasn’t going to fuck around. I wanted to talk to her and I wasn’t going to play any games, not after what I just saw.

I crossed my arms over my chest and widened my stance. I could hear her moving around in the hotel room. I might have even caught the sound of a few choice swear words coming from her mouth.

“I’m not leaving until you open the door and talk to me,” I said dryly. I wasn’t kidding, either. If I had to camp out here until it was time to go to my show in Vegas, I would.

I heard her footsteps approach the door, and I couldn’t help but be slightly amused. I could imagine her stomping furiously towards the door. There was that feisty girl I was so attracted to.

I heard the door unlock and she flung it open, glaring at me. I was a little disappointed she was now dressed in jeans and a t-shirt. I would have preferred her naked and still wrapped in a sheet. Her red hair was back up in a messy bun.

“What the fuck do you want, Cane?” She put her hand on her hip and looked up at me.

“I want to talk,” I said, and pushed my way past her and into her room. I noticed the bed was messy from her romp with Drew, and I swore I caught a whiff of sex in the air. I had to push the images of her beneath him from my mind, or I was going to punch the wall.

“You can’t barge your way into my room,” she said, shutting the door and following me into the room.

I was so angry she didn't want to talk to me, but my cock was also rock-hard. Her passion and temper were such a turn on. Screw talking; I should take her against the wall and pound the fuck out of her. Then I remembered seeing Drew leave her a little bit ago, and I changed my mind; I didn’t take anyone’s sloppy seconds.

“I only want five minutes of your time, Lindsey. That’s it.” I was sounding a little bit desperate and I hated it. I hated that she made me feel this way. It wasn’t something I was used to.

“Fine,” she said, and crossed her arms over her chest. “Five minutes and then I want you out of here, and I want you to leave me alone for the rest of the tour.”

I ran my hand through my hair and rubbed the back of my neck. I wasn’t sure that was a promise I wanted to make. It seemed impossible to leave her alone.

“Okay,” I lied. I started to pace the room, trying to calm my nerves. I wasn’t used to being nervous about anything. My emotions made it hard to collect my thoughts. I was angry she slept with Drew—even a little hurt. I was also jealous. I should have done a shot or two before coming here.

  “Well?” she urged. “Clock’s ticking.”

God, she could be a fucking bitch. I stopped pacing. “That chick isn’t my wife. At least I don’t think so. She claims we got married here in Vegas the last time I was in town, but I have no recollection of it and no one else can confirm or deny her story.”

“So?” She didn’t look impressed, and I wasn’t sure what else to say.

“I sent her home to get the marriage license she claims she has. I told her I wanted proof.” I walked over to her and put my hands on her arms. “You can come back to my room. There’s no reason to leave.”

She rolled her eyes and walked away. “Seriously, Cane. You can’t even remember if you’re married.” She turned around, her eyes bright with tears. “And you want me to come warm your bed while you wait to find out. What about those girls I saw you and Diesel with? I’m sure they would keep you company while you wait for your wife to come back.”

“What do you want from me?” I threw my hands up into the air. I was beyond frustrated at this point and not sure what else to say. "I'm trying here."

“Even if she’s not your wife, Cane, there will be another woman behind her claiming to be the mother of your baby or the next Mrs. Stephens. When will it stop?”

“What about you?” I was mad now and was going to play dirty. I walked towards her.

“What about me?” She asked, backing away from me until she was against the wall.

“I saw him leave.” My eyes bore into hers.

She bit her lip but didn’t say anything.

“I’ve heard stories about you and your obsession with rock stars.” I put a hand on the wall above her head, essentially trapping her. “How are you any better than me?”

“Get the fuck out of here, Cane,” she whispered, a tear sliding down her cheek. She wiped it away quickly with her hand.

“Now you’re moving onto the manager, huh? Or using him so you can get access to all of the musicians? Going to work your way through every guy on the tour, Lindsey?” I was on a roll now.

She reached up and slapped my face, and I instantly regretted what I had said.

“If you don’t leave now, I will call the police and say you attacked me. Then I will write a story for Rolling Stone about your ‘wife,’ It will be all over the news so fast it will make your head spin,” she said through clenched teeth.

I put my hand on my cheek and backed away from her; she could play as dirty as I could. Threatening me with the press was probably the lowest thing she could do.

“Fine, go back to fucking Drew. I hope he makes you scream like I do.”

I walked out the door, not waiting for her response. I was done with her. Th
e bitch was like every other female I met; she wanted something from me and, once she got it, she turned into a totally different person.

I stormed down the hallway to the elevator, ready to forget all about Lindsey. It was time to get fucked up on an epic scale. In the elevator, I called one of the guys on the crew who was good at hooking me up with whatever drugs I wanted. He was at a party, and he gave me the address to join him there.

I caught a cab in front of the hotel lobby, anxious to get there and get high. I didn’t have a show for two more days, and I was going to spend them so messed up that, by the time I sobered up, Lindsey would be a distant memory.

  Chapter Five

  Lindsey

I fought back a scream of frustration after Cane left my room. I sat on the bed and took a deep breath. What an arrogant fuck. Where did he get off saying those things about whom I slept with? He probably slept with more women in a month than I had men in a year.

Hot tears of anger burned my eyes. My head was pounding from all the booze Drew and I had consumed, and I was tired from no sleep.

What made me even more upset was the fact that, while I wanted to slap the shit out of Cane for being such an asshole, I was also so attracted to him. I had to fight jumping into his arms and begging him to fuck me.

I grabbed a pillow off of the bed and threw it across the room with a scream. It was going to be a long tour trying to avoid Cane, but hopefully I would never have to talk to him again. I flopped back on the bed and threw an arm over my face. Maybe a shower and some food would help.

I called housekeeping to come change my sheets. They were still a mess from my night with Drew and made my room smell like a frat house from the booze and sex. They said they would come in about an hour, so I took a long hot shower.

While I was in the shower, I thought about the two men I had slept with in the past few days. They couldn’t be any more different. Cane was full of passion, and sex with him was a little rough and animalistic. After a night with him, I was sore in places I didn’t know could be sore.

Drew was a slower lover, more concerned with my pleasure than his own. I suspect part of that had to do with how he felt about me, but I wasn’t sure. I might have opened a can of worms by sleeping with him, but he might also be a nice distraction during the rest of this trip.

I closed my eyes and leaned forward, resting my head on the cool tile of the shower while the hot water ran over me. Both men were great lovers, but it was Cane who consumed my thoughts despite being furious with him. Maybe the only way to get him out of my head was to go home.

I opened my eyes and finished my shower. I needed to call Rebecca. She would set me straight and give me a verbal ass kicking if I mentioned quitting and going home. Maybe I would convince her to take some time off of work and travel with me. I needed some girl time and a break from all of the testosterone I had to deal with.

When I was done with my shower, I dressed in some shorts and a tank top. I was finally going to venture out of the hotel and find a place to eat after I talked to Rebecca. I was tired of feeling sorry for myself.

I was putting the finishing touches on my makeup when there was a knock on the door. I went to open it, thinking it was housekeeping. When I opened it, I was surprised to see Drew standing there.

“Hey, Lindsey,” he said, grinning down at me. Before I could even respond, he cupped my face with his hands and gave me a soft kiss. “I’ve missed you.”

Oh shit, what had I gotten myself into?

I smiled back at him, scrambling for something to say. I wasn’t going to lie and say I missed him too. For me, what had happened between us earlier was only sex, nothing more. It seemed as though Drew read more into it.

His phone rang, and I almost breathed a sigh of relief. “You better get that,” I said, and found the remote on the nightstand to turn off the TV.

“Nothing’s more important than you,” he said before pulling his phone out of his pocket and answering it. As he spoke, I pointed to the bathroom and mouthed that I would be back. He nodded and I turned my back to him, fighting the urge to roll my eyes.

I went into the bathroom and shut the door behind me. If I were going to use Drew as a distraction from Cane, more alcohol was going to be a necessity. I wasn’t really sure it was fair to use him like that, either. Damn, my life had become a fucking mess since coming on this tour.

I was messing around with my hair, trying to get it into the perfect messy bun, when Drew knocked on the bathroom door. “I’m off the phone.”

“Okay, I’ll be right out,” I replied. I sprayed my hair with some hairspray and put my hand on the doorknob. I took a deep breath and opened it. Drew was sitting on the bed, and he smiled when he saw me.

“Still haven’t made the bed, huh?” He grinned at me.

“No, I called housekeeping but they haven’t arrived yet. I was going to get something to eat. Do you want to join me?” I regretted the words almost as soon as I said them. Asking him to dinner wasn’t going to deter him; it was only going to lead him on more. Oh well, he wasn’t a bad guy and we could have some fun.

“Sure! There’s a great Italian place nearby. We can walk.” He got up off the bed and waited for me to grab my purse.

“I hate to ask this, but you haven’t seen Cane lately, have you?” He asked on our way to the elevator.

I bit my lip, not sure if I should tell him I had talked to Cane right after he left. “No,” I decided to lie. “I’m done with him.”

“That’s what I thought,” he said, putting his hand on the small of my back as we entered the elevator. He was always such a gentleman. Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad after all. Most of the guys I dated had no manners.

“Why do you ask?” I tried to ask nonchalantly, as we rode down to the lobby.

“I guess no one can find him,” he shrugged. “I said he was probably balls deep in a pussy somewhere. It’s not like he hasn’t disappeared before—sometimes even for days at a time. This time it has been only a few hours. They are waiting for him at rehearsal.”

Bile rose in my throat at the thought of him fucking someone else, but Drew was probably right. “Yeah, he’s probably too busy getting laid. This is Vegas, after all.”

“Right,” Drew nodded. He put his arm around my shoulder and pulled me near. “I’m glad you realized what a jerk he is before he could hurt you.”

  “Me too.”

We made small talk on our walk to the restaurant, and I was surprised when he took my hand. I was annoyed at first, but then appreciated the small gesture. This guy really liked me, and I was going to make an effort with him. I was over falling for guys who treated me like dirt.

We were seated right away at the restaurant, and the server brought the wine Drew had ordered for us.

He lifted his glass and smiled at me. “I want to propose a toast to us, Lindsey.”

I picked up my glass and clinked it against his. “To us.” I plastered a smile on my face before taking a drink, downing the whole glass. I was feeling a little overwhelmed by the whole situation, and maybe the wine would calm my nerves.

Drew’s phone rang again, and he set his glass down with a scowl. “After this call, I’m turning this damn thing off for the rest of the night.”

“Drew,” he answered the phone curtly.

I looked over the menu, but couldn’t help notice the look of concern that spread across his face as the person on the other end talked. He was talking loud enough that I could hear him, but I couldn’t make out what he was saying.

“Are you sure it’s him?” Drew asked, glancing over at me. He was silent while the other person talked. I was filled with dread. I had no idea what had happened but, by his reaction, I knew it wasn’t good. “I’ll be right there.”

He hung up the phone and tried to wave our waiter over.

“What’s wrong? What happened?” I asked, my heart pounding. Did this have something to do with Cane? Had someone found him?

He threw some cash on th
e table and stood up. “There’s been an accident and I have to get to the hospital. I’ll call you later.”

I stood up as he started to leave and grabbed his arm. “Drew, what happened?”

“I’m not sure, but I have to go.” He ran his hands through his short hair anxiously.

“Is it Cane?” I said, barely loud enough for him to hear me.

He opened his mouth to speak and then closed it. He walked back to me and took my hand. “Yes, he’s been in a motorcycle accident.”

“Oh my God,” I said, lifting a hand to cover my mouth. “Is he okay?”

“I don’t know, that’s why I have to go.” He let go of my hand and began to walk out of the restaurant.

“I’m coming with you,” I said, following behind him. He was walking so fast I almost had to run to keep up with him. Thankfully, there was an empty cab outside of the restaurant.

We slid inside, and Drew told the driver the name of the hospital where Cane was. I chewed on the side of my mouth nervously. My mind filled with a million questions, but I was too scared to find out the answers. It seemed like we were hitting every red light and got behind the slowest drivers. I clenched my hands in my lap. I wasn’t religious anymore, but my parents had taken us to church every Sunday when I was growing up; so I said a quick prayer to the man upstairs for Cane to be okay.

“You didn’t need to come along,” Drew said tersely, looking out the window. “I could have called you later and told you how he is. I’m sure it’s nothing, anyway.”

“I know,” I replied softly, facing out my window as well.

We pulled up to the hospital’s ER, and Drew paid the driver before we got out and walked quickly inside. The sight didn’t make me feel any better. The rest of the guys from Hookers and Hand Grenades were there in the waiting room. Their grim faces told me this was more serious than I had hoped. Drew went over to get the scoop while I hung back, hugging my arms and feeling helpless.

I was about to join Drew to find out what was going on when Cane’s best friend, Diesel, walked over to me.
