  “Then punish your pet, Master.”

She heard Dom let out a breath, and could feel him moving toward them.

“Don’t tempt me, Aubrey. I can still spread you across my lap and give you a spanking.”

“When have you ever given me spanking?”

Aubrey knew she was playing with fire, but she’d decided to continue playing with it until the two men finally admitted their desire. She wasn’t blind or stupid. If Aubrey knew Dom and Max really felt nothing for her, then she’d back off in a second. Even if it hurt, she’d let them go, but it wasn’t the case.

“Perhaps it’s about time I did,” Max said. His voice held a seductive but dangerous edge.

“Max, careful,” Dom warned, but Max ignored him.

“Go ahead. I think I’m going to enjoy it. I’m getting wet just thinking about it.”

Max’s irises began to expand and grow heavy with need at her words. Aubrey could hear her rising pulse and wondered if it was too late to back off now. Perhaps baiting and pushing Max wasn’t one of the wisest things in the world to do.

  “Oh fuck,” Dom muttered.

Just like that, Dom’s hand was on her bare shoulder in warning, right across the sunburst tattooed there. The sunburst was House Scavos’s sigil, and whoever had it on their skin told outsiders who they were loyal to, but Aubrey wasn’t loyal to the house. She was loyal to Dom and Max, and only to them. House Scavos could burn for all she cared. She was a selfish individual and she wasn’t about to change.

“You don’t know what you’re doing, Aubrey.” Dom’s words were quiet but firm. His body was warm against her back. “I think you owe Max an apology.”

She took a deep breath and another. Was Dom right that she didn’t know what she was doing? That she wasn’t admitting she wanted them enough?

She craned her neck to look at Dom’s worried expression. “I don’t expect you or Max to take me as a mate, or even a lover, but you can use me if you like.”

Aubrey felt Max abruptly release her wrist. She didn’t expect Dom coming up to her and shaking her shoulders. Shocked, Aubrey stared up at him.

“I don’t ever want to hear those words from you again, you understand, Aubrey?”

Aubrey had a lot of curses to fling back at him, but it only took her a second to realize she’d done him irreparable damage by wounding his pride. Dom may have been the beta of Max’s pack, and he did his share of dirty work, but she was one of the few people in the world who knew his sweet side.

Shame flooded her, making her lower her gaze. “I’m sorry.”

It was all she could do and say. Suddenly, it felt unbearable to be in the same room with them, with the men who’d saved her and given her a second life. This was how she’d repaid her saviors? Aubrey reached out for her crow.

“Aubrey, wait,” Dom said, but she was already flying to the ledge.

She gave them one last lingering look before spreading her wings to the rainy night. Aubrey decided that night they deserved better. While she didn’t have the courage to leave them, the least she could do was never bringing up her desire again.

  Chapter One

Past the menacing-looking large iron gates, Max caught a glimpse of the Scavos Mansion’s old Victorian roof peeking from a cluster of oaks and maples. The gate and walls were there to keep unwanted intruders out, and Max made sure the family invested in the latest and modern security systems as a precaution.

Security was the number one priority these days, especially since his younger brother, Connor, had single-handedly started a war with the Vivaldi over his mate. Max might’ve never really gotten along with Connor, but he was happy for him all the same for finally claiming a mate. Besides, he’d seen for himself how Jace can easily calm down his often-temperamental brother.

He pursed his lips at the sight of werewolves in various states of undress, or completely naked in human form, coupling in twos, threes, fours, and fives here and there.

“Care to join us, alpha?” one beefy werewolf called. He was sharing a willing female with another man.

“Perhaps another time,” Max replied. He never lacked invitations from male and female wolves, but everyone knew he only preferred the attentions of his mate.

Max vaguely recognized the werewolf as one belonging to Connor’s pack. London, Connor, and he ran House Scavos, so they each ran their own packs. Tonight though, those divisions were erased. Giving themselves fully to the sway of the full moon, the werewolves gave into their bestial natures.

Some led hunts through the woods surrounding the mansion. Others fought each other to establish their positions in the pack, but the majority pawed, played, and mated.

It was full moon, or rather mating season for most shifters, so Max shouldn’t really have been surprised. Couldn’t the wolves have some sense to be alert though, given they were in the middle of a damn war?

Max passed by Connor, his mate, and some of Connor’s men on his way to the house. Connor was in a rare good mood. Nude, clearly smelling of a recent mating, he even slapped Max on the shoulder good-naturedly.

“Care to join us for a run, brother?” Conner asked.

“I appreciate the offer, but no. I’m looking for Dom. Have you seen him?”

“I think I saw him head up the house,” Connor said. “Don’t lock yourselves up in your stuffy office all night long. Come out in the open. Air feels nice tonight.”

Max took leave of him and went in search of Dom. Perhaps Connor was right. It wouldn’t be bad to unwind and relax once in a while. Didn’t the family always leave the harder and complicated shit for him to deal with?

Besides, with the Vivaldi scheming for their ruin, Max could foresee he wouldn’t have much time for a break in the future.

His nose led him to the familiar scent of his mate, and the scent of something else. No. Someone else. Max knew the scent. He just couldn’t put a name to who it belonged to. Max ignored the pinprick of annoyance beginning to stir inside him.

Dom and he had occasionally taken an additional lover or two during the full moon, but he wasn’t in the mood for additional company. Something about the scent bothered him immensely too. Max inhaled again.

  Sharp. Exotic. Female arousal.

Instantly, he conjured up erotic images of his hands roaming down the length of her tempting golden skin, seeking the moist jewel between her legs. Of his lips biting down the inked curve of a slender neck. Would her long black eyelashes flutter with languid confusion as his canines slid free from their sheaths and finally pierced her neck? Was tonight the night they finally made her theirs?

“Fuck, no.” He slammed the door open, but the occupants in the room didn’t seem to notice his arrival. Dom was bending down over Aubrey, who sat on one of the comfy guest chairs facing his desk. Dom had her hands clasped above her head, his expression one of savage hunger as he claimed her lips.

She wasn’t resisting him one bit. The seductive line of her body and her pert and erect nipples told Max just how willing she was. He could smell the flood of her arousal, and wondered what her cream would taste like. Max’s own cock was rising from his trousers at the mere sight of Dom kissing Aubrey.

Dom stopped kissing Aubrey to look at him. “Max, come join us. Let’s claim her together.”

The figure under him shuddered at the sound of Dom’s voice. Max wasn’t aware of his body leading him closer to the pair. He had to be the logical one here, the voice of reason. If he didn’t, they were going to wind up regretting this night and things would be forever awkward between the three of them.

Fuck it all. Didn’t Dom have more reason than this?

Although it took all of him, Max grabbed Dom’s shoulders and ripped him away from Aubrey. Dom snarled, his eyes shifting from desire to slight anger at being parted from his prize.

“Are you stopping me, Max, or are you in the mood for some play?” Dom asked.

“I’m stopping this,” Max said, trying to sound firm and levelheaded, but his voice o
nly came out rough.

His gaze landed to Aubrey, who looked away from his severe stare. No. She couldn’t have started this. Things between them had been tense for a while now, but she surprised the hell out of Max by being professional and doing what she was good at. It had been three years since she tried anything.

She was twenty-one now, Max remembered with a pang. Aubrey had done enough to repay whatever she owed them. She was free to leave if she wanted, and free to find her own mate. Max wasn’t entirely sure he was ready to let her go, but that was a problem for another day.

“Don’t look at her like that, Max. Let’s stop playing games. I know you want her, too. She belongs to us, and she’s always belonged to us. It’s about time we take her before someone else does.”

Dom tried shoving his way past Max, but Max firmly planted himself between him and Aubrey. “No. We’ve talked about this in the past, Dom.”

“Times change.” Dom hissed. “Now move before I hurt you, because if you’re not man enough to take her, I’ll do it for us.”

“Can you listen to yourself? Your emotions are running high because of the full moon. Keep it together,” Max snapped.

His wolf growled inside him when Dom attempted to shove him.

  “Stop. Don’t fight. Please.”

Max stopped, startled. He seldom heard his proud little crow say “please” to anyone. His wolf settled back as he turned to her. Aubrey had sufficiently recovered and was standing by the chair, ready to leave.

“Max is right. This was mistake, I’m sorry. I don’t want you two to fight because of something like this.”

“Something like this?” Dom demanded. “Last I remember, little crow, you were eagerly pressing and rubbing your delightful body against mine.”

Aubrey didn’t blush and didn’t bother looking embarrassed. “Like Max said, it’s the sway of the full moon.”

“Crows don’t react like wolves to the full moon.”

Aubrey looked frustrated by Dom’s words. “What do you want me to say? Look, tonight never happened. Just enjoy each other.”

Without another word, her figure blurred and a crow took the place of the woman. Dom cursed, reaching out for Aubrey, but she had already spread her wings and flown out the window.

“Look what you’ve done,” Dom said, his yellow gaze clearly unhappy.

“What I’ve done? All I’ve done is stopped you, stopped us, from making the biggest mistake of our lives.” Max watched his mate restlessly pace around the office. “Perhaps a run would calm you down.”

“A mistake? The biggest mistake we’ve ever made is keeping her at a distance.” Dom stopped talking, probably sensing what he said wouldn’t get through to Max. It was just as well, because Max’s stance wouldn’t change.

Dom finally said, “Well, you can forget about why you came looking for me, Max, because you’re not getting any from me tonight.”

Max’s wolf surged up again, making his skin feel hot. No one got the better of Max Scavos, including his mate. He’d already had Aubrey run out of him, and he wouldn’t take Dom leaving him to an empty and lonely night.

“Don’t you dare walk away from me, Dom. We’re not done talking.”

“Why bother talking when you’re not going to listen to a damn word I’ll say?”

That was it. Max took a few purposeful steps and grabbed Dom’s arm as he was about to stalk out of the door. He slammed his mate hard against the wall, pulling both his arms above his head. Max was suddenly quite aware Dom had no clothes on, and he wanted nothing better to dispense of his own clothes so their skin could rub and clash against each other.

“Go ahead, Dom. Tell me to let you go. I’ll let you walk,” Max said in a low voice, leaning his face close. He knew he was purposely baiting his mate. Under the full moon, any shifter’s emotion ran high, including Dom’s.

Dom’s tongue slithered out of his tongue to lick at Max’s bottom lip, making him groan. Max could see Dom’s playful and horny wolf lurking behind his eyes. The beast wasn’t fickle like the man. It had already forgotten why he was angry with Max in the first place.

All that mattered to the wolf was sating its lust during the full moon. There would be hell to pay, Max knew, when morning came, but he’d think about morning later.

“No,” Dom whispered hoarsely, vainly trying to rub his bare flesh against the fabric of Max’s suit.

Keeping Dom’s wrists restrained with one hand, Max’s other hand drifted to Dom’s shaft. He began pumping Dom’s cock until it hardened and thickened in his hand.

“Tell me what you want, Dom. I want to hear you say the words.”

“Even after so many years?” Dom murmured, straining himself forward and still nibbling on Max’s lip.

  “Say them.”

“Fuck me, Max. I fucking need you.”

Max took back his control. He deepened the kiss, pushing his tongue between Dom’s half-opened lips to tongue-fuck him. Dom’s heat and taste exploded in his mouth, and Dom’s muffled moans only inflamed his passion. Max continued his hand movements, gathering Dom’s pre-cum to spread it thoroughly from tip to base.

Dom tore his mouth away from his. “Max, I’m going to come all over your suit.”

Max easily turned Dom. He molded his body against Dom’s back and held him close with one hand. The other worked at Dom’s prick with growing intensity as Max vaulted Dom’s pleasure to the edge. Dom panted against him, begging him for release.

Max dragged the edge of his teeth up the length of Dom’s neck, delighted by the sound of Dom’s shiver. He bit hard on the edge of Dom’s ear and said, “Come for me, Dom.”

Dom shuddered against his arms until he’d emptied all of his cum.

“Fuck you, Max,” Dom muttered, leaning against him. “You always do this when we have a fight.”

“Well, it works, and don’t think I’m done with you. I’m just getting started.”

Dom twisted in his arms, expression hard. “We’re going to talk about this in detail tomorrow.”

“Yeah, tomorrow,” Max agreed. He could feel Dom’s hands beginning to work the buttons of his suit. “Impatient, aren’t we?”

“Just shut up and help me get this suit off you.”

Max chuckled and helped Dom peel off all his cloths until both of them were finally naked.

“I think I want to fuck you on my desk, Dom.”

“Yeah, okay. I like seeing your face when you fuck me.”

Dom let Max push him on the desk, and the violent movement scattered various paperwork and stationary aside. Dom licked his lips below him, and his eager look and willing submission made Max only hot as hell.

Max made sure the office door was locked so it was just only Dom and him. No interruptions. He fumbled for the spare lube he kept in one of the drawers of his desk before returning to Dom. After making sure his fingers were thoroughly lubed, he spread Dom’s legs and applied more lube to Dom’s waiting slit.

Dom groaned when he slid just one finger in and then another.

“I’ve been looking forward all day for this. I’m going to ride you harder and rougher than before, Dom.”

“Just shut up and fuck me, Max. Please,” Dom added, moaning when Max began to widen and prepare him for his access.

Gripping his thighs, Max nudged a few inches in. Dom moaned in assent. He wrapped his legs firmly around Max’s waist, urging him forward. Max was only happy to comply. He was large and thick, and before Dom, he’d had a few complaints about his length from old lovers.

Meeting no resistance, he slammed himself all the way in, until he was hilt-deep in Dom. Dom breathed in hard, eyes trained on where their bodies were connected. Max could feel Dom’s wolf reaching out for his, dancing, caressing, and melding against each other like rightful mates.

  “Max, please.”

At Dom’s plea, Max began to move. Holding onto Dom’s abs, he began to ride his mate as hard as he knew Dom liked. Max pushed in deep, his strokes quick and furious. When
he heard Dom’s sudden cry of pleasure, he knew he’d finally hit his sweet spot. Angling himself in the same direction, Max rammed himself over the spot again and again. Dom’s cries were music to his ears.

His hand found Dom’s semi-erect cock again, and began to pump him. Max knew every inch of Dom’s body by now, so he timed his thrusts with his the movement of his hand. Dom squirmed, writhed, and moaned beneath him, and Max again wondered what it would be like to have Aubrey’s slender golden body beneath the two of them.

No. Forget about her, Max. Just focus on you and Dom. The two of you are enough and will always be enough.

“I’m close to coming, Max,” Dom gasped.

Max drove both of them to edge, plunging into Dom deep as he gently squeezed Dom’s tightly drawn balls. Dom came first, shuddering beneath him, his warm cum spraying across Max’s chest and belly. Seeing Dom come and knowing he was the only one capable of making him scream out in pleasure, Max’s own orgasm flooded him. He grasped Dom’s thighs tightly to anchor himself as pleasure rode his body.

“You promised, Max. We’ll talk,” Dom reminded him much later, after Max had cleaned both of them up and they had retreated to their bedroom.

Max groaned, but at Dom’s silence, he said, “Remind me come morning.”

It didn’t look like Dom had any intentions of dropping this. Fine with Max. The outcome was the same either way.

  Chapter Two

If crows could yawn, Aubrey would have done so long ago. She ruffled her feathers out of boredom, not moving her gaze from the two Vivaldi goons having a heated discussion beneath her. The rotten wooden rafter she was perched on wasn’t the most comfortable place to watch either.

“This place blows. Why couldn’t the boss pick a better place?”

“Shut your trap, Wilson. The others will be here soon with our special visitor.”

She had to admit the goons chose a good meeting place though. The mortal authorities usually left abandoned warehouses in the slums alone. After Connor Scavos started a war with the Vivaldi, her working hours had more than tripled.
