by Watts, Mia

“Maybe it’s too many long hours?” she offered. Though she’d lifted her eyes to his, they quickly dropped away again.

“So, I know why I’m on the case. Why is Harper involved?”

  “Nice segue.”

  “It’s a gift.”

Willow cracked her first real smile. Wide and sweet with a small dimple appearing high in her cheek, it shot straight to his gut like a sucker punch. She really ought to have a license for that thing.

“We were hired by an outside source,” she explained.

“Why? Remember Uncle Sam is asking.”

“I know you’re legit, Agent Wilcox. You don’t need to convince me.”

  “Excellent.” He smiled widely.

Willow pushed her hair out of her face and leaned in earnestly. “Harper was hired by an art insurer. They believe there’s a pattern between Dr. Felix and missing artifacts as they travel from the field to the museum.”

Kane nodded. “We’ve noticed the same thing. However he’s doing it, he’s very good.”

Willow licked her lips, as though she were preparing to say something else. Kane’s gaze traveled with the tip of her pink tongue, along the seam of her full lower lip. He had the stomach diving urge to lean across the table and catch that bottom lip between his teeth to see if it was even half as pliant as it looked.

She must have noticed, because eyes sparkled with amusement. “Why did you pull me in for questioning, and not Bruce?” Her words were low and playful.

Shit. She was flirting with him. Goddamn it, he’d let his guard slip.

“You’ve had closer contact with the family than Bruce. Since we’re being honest, Bruce doesn’t seem to do much more than hang out in your car and follow you everywhere.”

  Her smile faltered. “He’s invaluable.”

“Quite possibly, but not to my investigation.”

“I don’t work without him,” she countered folding her arms across her chest.

“Well, that’s not true, is it? I’ve seen you coming out of class without him tagging along.”

  Willow harrumphed.

“You’re close enough to Austyn to wander the family home without her?” he asked.

“Yes. What is it you’re asking me to do?”

“Look for missing artifacts. I have a file of the ones which never arrived at the museums. I want you to go searching for them. When you find them, you’ll take a picture with a small camera we’ll give you.”

  “Oh, is that all?”

“No. You’ll also wear a wire. Try to get yourself invited to dinner. Dr. Felix is a single man. Maybe come on to him a little. Get him to open up and brag to you about the thefts.”

“Seriously? You think he’s just going to spill his guts to a virtual stranger?”

“A pretty face can make a lonely man talk,” Kane said.

“If it were that easy, this case would be over and written up already. Besides, it’s not that simple, and you know it. Finds in the field are documented and photographed, they’re also input into computers, which makes theft a lot harder, but not impossible. How do you know you have a complete file of missing artifacts?”

“We don’t. Catch him on the few, and we’ll have a case. Catch him confessing, and it’s in the bag.”

Willow harrumphed. “I’ve got an idea. Why don’t you go in, seduce Austyn, marry her, and get your new daddy to confess as a wedding gift? Or, better yet. Why don’t you just jump to the point, seduce lonely Dr. Felix, and have pillow talk confessions? He can tell you he’s a dirty, dirty thief, and you can tell him you’re a naughty, naughty, FBI agent.”

  Kane tried not to smile.

“Hey,” she continued. “You said he’s lonely. Maybe he’s not picky about who eases that loneliness.”

Willow stood abruptly. Her chair pushed out roughly behind her.

Kane stood too. “We’re not done with this interview, Ms. Harper.”

“Oh, yes we are, Agent Wilcox. I’m not seducing anyone. Not for Harper and not for Uncle Sam.”

“You didn’t seem opposed to flirting with me. That’s all I’m asking you to do with Dr. Felix.”

Willow’s eyes widened and her sweet little mouth popped open. “Excuse me?” Her bright green irises flashed with irritation.

  “Which part?” He asked calmly.

“I was not flirting with you.”

“Yeah, you were, and if I were ten years younger, it would have been effective.”

  “I wasn’t—wait, it would have?”

Kane cocked an eyebrow, charmed and flattered by her surprise.

“Why ten years younger? Do you have a girlfriend?”

He found himself chuckling. Kane ran a hand through his hair, “No, Ms. Harper. No girlfriend. Just too old for games.”

She gave him a funny look, her head tilting to one side. Suddenly she shook her head as though to clear the confusion. “Okay, I’m going to let that drop for now. I’m going to help you, because you’re government and the Harpers aren’t interested in standing in the way of justice. But I’m also not going to jeopardize my case. You’ll have to talk to Sage or Dill if you want information on our client.”

“I understand your reluctance, and I appreciate your honesty. I’ll call Harper Security and arrange the equipment you’ll need to use. I will be expecting notes on your progress as you gain information.”

“Are you going to be sharing information with us?” she asked pointedly.

Kane tucked his chin. “That’s not how it works.”

“No, of course not. Mutual cooperation and information sharing is mutually one-sided.”

Kane smiled. “You’re getting the picture.”

Willow sighed with disgust, yanked her purse off the table, and headed for the door. She paused with her hand on the knob, but didn’t turn around. “Are we finished now, Agent Wilcox?”

  “For the moment.”

She hauled the door open harder than necessary and walked out. Bruce jumped to his feet and followed her to the elevator banks where Kane lost sight of her.

“Goddamn, that’s one great looking lady,” he murmured to himself.

  Chapter Two

Willow vibrated with annoyance as she stormed into the Harper Security offices.

“God, you’re sexy when you’re pissed,” Bruce announced.

  “I’m not pissed.”

“You’re totally pissed.” Bruce grabbed her hips and pulled her ass against his rigid arousal.

“Pig,” she snapped, but she didn’t pull away. Bruce made her skin sizzle with awareness. Rather like Agent Wilcox made her want to shuck her panties and ride him like a shameless hussy. And that’s what really pissed her off. The rest was business. She could handle business. What she couldn’t handle, or make sense of, was the way Wilcox heated her blood with a single long look.

He had to know what he was doing. Flirting? She had not been flirting. He had been flirting. Pot meet kettle, jackass. How dare he accuse her when he’d been the one making that slow one-sided smile, looking at her with those sexy brown eyes, richer than any milk chocolate created by man, and looming there in his loomingness, all man-like and manly.

  Asshole!

“Goddess,” he soothed, nuzzling her neck.

Then there was Bruce. He not only kept her faery curse in check with his faery presence, but his black-eyed gaze and tussled brown hair and liquid movements made her brain go to mush. It just wasn’t possible that there could be two men on the planet that she wanted in her bed, in her body.

Further confusing her was the fact that one man was all man, and one man wasn’t a man at all, but full faery. Maybe it was another part of her curse. Being born half faery and half human, she’d naturally be pulled by men from either realm, right? Fuck that! Fuck it!

Bruce’s hot breath puffed in her ear, making her shiver.

Willow shrugged out of his hold. “Not at the office.”

“You humans have so many hang ups. If we were in the faery realm,
everyone would understand us getting naked and busy. Hell, we don’t even wear clothes half the time.”

“We aren’t in faery. We’re here. Here, we keep our clothes on in public—most of the time,” she amended. “We don’t fornicate where everyone can see us.” She blushed as she remembered one instance where she hadn’t cared if anyone had seen Bruce fucking her brains out.

He seemed to know what she was thinking, and winked at her.

“You wanted him,” Bruce said matter-of-factly.

She gave him a jaundiced look. Or she hoped it was jaundiced looking, and not queasy.

Bruce shrugged. “It’s okay. He’s hot.”

  “Then you do him.”

“Sure, but only if you’re there. I like your pussy too much to give it up completely.” Bruce followed her around the desk. He pushed her into her chair and kneeled before her. “Perhaps a demonstration?”

Willow’s heart tripped on itself. Her office door was closed, but that didn’t mean anything at Harper Security. Walking in was standard practice. Especially when you had a sibling who could read minds, another one who froze time, a third who appeared out of nowhere, and a fourth who wandered around invisibly.

But Bruce already had his hands sliding up her outer thighs, pushing her skirt higher until he hooked his fingers in her nothing-lace panties.

  “Bad timing,” she rushed unconvincingly.

“I don’t think so. I think that agent got you hot and bothered. I’m thinking you’re wet and aching for relief.” He wiggled his brows. “I’m here and offering.”

“God, Bruce,” she squirmed backward in her chair, yet only succeeded in helping him loosen her panties. “You like that he turned me on? Doesn’t that bother you?”

“Nope. It’s hot that you’re so in touch with your sexuality. Just imagining him taking your juicy cunt with his mouth while you suck me off—fuck, I’m hard.”

Willow’s mouth went dry. She’d always wanted to have two men at once. Now Bruce was telling her he’d like it, too. Her pussy clenched as her body got on board with that idea.

Bruce grabbed her hips and tugged her to the edge of the chair. He threw her slip of lace panties over his shoulder where they snagged on the pen holder. She stared at it, giving herself something to focus on while Bruce brutally yanked her knees apart, and cold office air touched her parted cunt.

“There it is. Wet, slick, and begging. I love it when you ask nicely,” he said addressing her apex.

Bruce dove under her skirt. His hot breath teased her bare flesh as he huffed on her. Willow gurgled, trying to hold back. She gripped the armrests, knowing she should probably stop him, but unable to make herself form the words.

Feather light strokes rimmed her labia, ticklish, agonizing, the barest touch of nail on pouting flesh. He was nowhere near her breasts, but tightened nipples poked insolently at her cotton blouse. The material seemed binding, suffocating. She desperately wanted to be naked and touched, but Bruce was doing his level best to torment her.

Already her thighs quaked, held far apart by her own need as she eagerly opened her body to him. “Bruce. Please.”

  He chuckled.

Wet and quick, his tongue flickered through her folds. She cried out, needing more or less or both. She fought the urge to grab his head and pull him in. He always seemed to love it when she couldn’t control her need for him.

“Think of him, Will. Think of Agent Wilcox walking in on us.”

His tongue drew a circle around her clit. Her nerve endings went wild.

“Think of him bending you over the desk, taking you from behind with your sweet pale ass on display, while I,” he swiped her again. “Eat you out.”

The image had just settled in her mind, her ass in the air, Bruce’s black eyes boring into her exposed cunt as he buried his mouth against her flesh, and Agent Wilcox taking her from behind, when Bruce pushed the end of his finger into her ass. Willow squealed. Bruce clamped down on her clit and flicked wildly.

His thumb entered her channel. He rubbed the thin membrane between her anus and her pussy, driving her higher. She lifted her hips, thrusting against Bruce’s face. Darkness crowded the edges of her vision, exploding bright red and white behind her lids when she closed them. She sank into the eager murmur of his approval and her own body’s demand for release.

Bruce’s teeth grazed her swollen nub. Willow convulsed. She bit back a scream, but the noise still carried, loud enough to fill the room.

“That’s more like it,” Bruce soothed.

Willow looked down at him. “I want you inside me, right now.”

Bruce winked. “But honey, we’re in the office.” He stood, casually took a tissue from the box on her desk, and wiped his lips. “Boy, am I thirsty.”

  Willow blushed to her scalp.

“Do you want a coffee?” he offered.

She nodded, not really sure how to bridge the awkwardness of her blatant announcement and his teasing.

“I’ll get you one. Then I’m calling Agent Wilcox and inviting him over to your place for dinner tonight.”

  Willow gasped. “You are not.”

He swung the door open. “No, I won’t, but you’re so ready right now. I think you’d keep both of us busy all night long.”

“Bruce. For fuck’s sake, that’s my sister. Get a room,” Sage bellowed from down the hall.

  * * * *

The next day, Willow waited for Austyn outside Art History. Students filed passed her and Willow hugged her books to her chest like many of them. She knew she looked like she fit in, even though she’d graduated a couple of years ago. That would be thanks to those ever youthful faery genes she possessed.

Finally, Austyn slipped out. Willow grinned and linked arms with her. “So are you ready for the Egyptian artifacts exam?”

“So ready,” Austyn said, drawing out the so.

“You suck. I’m not at all ready. I can’t seem to keep all the little scarab representations separate. And the variations on Anubis? I might as well pack it in,” Willow moaned.

  “I told you I’d help.”

“I know, but we haven’t exactly had a lot of time to hang out this week,” Willow complained.

  “Come over.”

  “Today?”

“Yeah. My dad’s working late, and we can have the chef make whatever we want for dinner. You can spend the night and we’ll cram all night long,” Austyn enthused. “Hell, stay all weekend for a full on study-fest. You’ll be ready for Monday’s final. And if you aren’t, I bought some Ritalin…”

Willow shook her head. “No, no drugs. That stuff messes you up, bad. Just promise me you’ll keep that Chihuahua of yours away.”

“Aw, Peanut only wants to love on you.”

Willow snorted. “Peanut wants to whiz on my leg, that’s what Peanut wants.”

“I’ll keep him away,” Austyn promised, holding her hand up as though making a solemn oath.

Weekends at the Felix mansion always made her nervous. Bruce’s faery presence quelled her faery nature. Without him, she’d risk morphing into wooden things all weekend long. That would be tough to explain. Still, she’d managed it before.

“We could make it a weekend group study,” Willow suggested. Not only could she possibly bring Bruce along, but the others would keep Austyn busy while Willow went on an archeological hunt through the Felix manor.

Austyn’s nose wrinkled. “Dad wouldn’t be cool with that.”

Willow shrugged like it didn’t matter one way or the other to her. “Okay. Just you and me all weekend. Sounds like fun.”

“Studying fun? You have a weird sense of what fun means. I think we’ll have to raid Daddy’s liquor, and then we’ll have some fun. Or you could invite your sexy boyfriend over, and we could really have some fun.”

It took Willow exactly one second to think about that idea. It would be convenient to have Bruce along, but sharing him with Austyn? Willow wasn’t nearly as giving with her lover as Bruce seemed to be.

“Nah. I don’t share.” Willow smiled to soften the rejection.

“I don’t blame you. He’s so hot he could make a girl combust just by looking at her.”

Willow laughed with her in agreement, as they made their way outside. Bruce waited there, leaning against the building. Austyn nudged her and they both laughed again before Austyn let her go.

“Come by tonight at five. I should be done with my lab by then,” Austyn called, waving.

  Willow waved back.

“You got another invitation?” Bruce asked when Austyn had moved out of earshot. “Go, you.”

“Yeah. She wanted you there too, but I declined.”

Bruce pulled her hard against him. “Good. I might like the idea of sharing you with another man, but you’re the only woman I want.”

“Even though I’m not a faery?” she asked.

  “You’re faery.”

  “Half.”

“A technicality.” He kissed the tip of her nose.

“Why is it okay to share me?” she asked, suddenly dying to know.

“Another man wanting you the way I do? Making you come? Fucking your tight little cunt while I watch you scream? God, what’s not to like?”

She wrapped her arms around his neck. “I couldn’t share you.”

“But you’re okay inviting another guy in, right?”

She thought about it and finally nodded. “If it worked out that way. The idea of being screwed by two amazing men at once is pretty awesome.”

“I could fuck you right now.”

“I know.” She bumped her hips to his. “I can feel the welcome.”

“Let’s go somewhere. Now. I want to get inside you, haul your leg up, and take you against a wall.”

Her breath caught. She loved the way he talked to her. She loved how much he wanted her. The idea of having him watch her make love with another sexy man, and knowing he enjoyed every minute of it, didn’t do anything to cool her desire.

She definitely wanted to take him up on the offer, but more importantly, she had to get back to the office for her investigation tools. And talk to Sage about Agent Wilcox. If he was going to make her wear a wire, she’d have something to say about it. Assuming Agent Wilcox had already contacted Harper Security to force her hand into working with him. Had he?
