“I have to get back to work.”

“Hey, do you know if they need a Technical Security Expert full time? This is a pretty sweet setup.”

“I don’t think so but I do know that Dom is looking for a personal assistant. Maybe you should apply for that.” Amelia tried to hide her smile at the girl’s enthusiasm. It would serve Dom right to have to have a perky assistant.

“I’ll apply right away. See you later.”

Amelia left Dom’s suite and went back to the elevator. All she really wanted was to go to Nigel’s suite and make love to him over and over.

The doors to the elevator opened and she froze when Clark got off. There was no way to avoid him.

“Mr. Davidson.” She tried to move past him but he reached for her arm. She quickly stepped back to keep him from touching her.

“Miss Jones, I would like a moment of your time. Come with me to my suite so we can speak in private.”

No way in hell was she going to be alone with this asshole. “Dom needs me back in the office.”

He moved to stand in front of the elevator so that she couldn’t get on it. “That’s partly what I want to talk to you about. What exactly are Dom and Nigel up to?”

“Dom is covering Nigel’s work until the board members arrive.”

“What type of things is Dom doing?”

She crossed her arms over her chest. “I don’t answer to you, technically I work for Dom.”

“So you have no loyalty to Nigel? What exactly is your relationship with him?”

She narrowed her eyes at him. He was fishing for something to use against Nigel. She wasn’t going to give him anything. “I am very loyal to the GCFA and to Nigel. I have worked with him for a long time and know what kind of man he is. He’s a great and fair boss.”

“Has he ever asked you to look the other way about an issue?”

“If I felt something wasn’t right, I would be the first to challenge him about it.” She could see the wheels turning in his eyes at not getting more useful information from her so he turned his tactic around and smiled at her sweetly.

“I appreciate your loyalty. What if I offered you double what Dom has offered and you come work for me as my personal assistant? What do you think about that?”

She blinked then laughed. “No thank you. I have to believe in the person I work for.” Obviously she shocked him by putting him down. He was caught off guard and she took advantage and moved around him to enter the elevator as the doors opened. It was perfect timing. She hit the button and was grateful the doors closed before he could say anything else to her. She definitely didn’t make a friend out of Clark. She was going to have to watch her back and Nigel’s.

  Chapter 15

  Later that evening

Amelia had just put on her lipstick when she heard a knock on her suite’s door. She checked herself in the mirror. She had dressed in a red floral dress that was a little shorter than she normally went for and the sleeveless deep V-neck showed off her breasts. Nigel liked her breasts. If there was a time a dress like this was needed it was now. The knock came again reminding her that he was waiting for in the hallway. She grabbed her purse and rushed to her door.

She swung it open and was breathless. “Hi.”

Nigel reached for her pulling her up into his arms and kissing her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and returned his desire. She loved his lips, she loved everything about him. When he finally let her up for air she laughed.

“I guess you missed me, huh?”

“We could stay here and order food to be delivered. Eat in bed.” He nuzzled her neck.

She moaned. “That is tempting, but you promised to take me out on a real date.”

He sighed setting her back on her feet. “You’re right. You deserved to be wined and dined properly. Are you ready?”

“Yes, and I am extremely hungry. It’s been a long day today. How are your injuries?” She closed the door behind her and took his hand that he offered.

“I’m fully healed and ready to go.” He wiggled his eyebrows up and down making her laugh.

They walked to the elevator passing some of the visiting passengers. The women openly admired Nigel, one was even ballsy enough to wink at him despite the fact that he was with her. She appreciated it when he wrapped his arm around her shoulders pulling her close. The pinched look on the woman’s face was so worth it.

They took the elevator down to the lower level where one of the restaurants was located. He opened the door for her and the hostess greeted them.

“Mr. Nigel, did you want your usual table?”

“Yes Pamela, thank you so much.” Nigel placed his hand on the middle of her back and guided her through the restaurant. He pulled out the chair for her and helped her scoot it back under the table. Nigel was a class act. Her father usually only showed that much manners when he took her mother out for their anniversary. Nigel always opened the doors for women and pulled out chairs. He learned manners by watching old movies. The successful businessmen always wore suits and ties. They paid for the meals and they opened doors for women.

Their waitress showed up in seconds and took their order. Nigel had them bring a very expensive bottle of wine to the table. The waitress poured two glasses of red wine and left. Amelia took a sip and smiled.

  “This is delicious.”

“I usually prefer white wine but I know that you like red. This is one of the best they have here.”

“You didn’t have to get the whole bottle Nigel, it’s pretty expensive.”

Nigel winked at her. “Nothing is too good for my girl. Besides, I plan to get you tipsy enough that I can have my wicked way with you.”

She laughed. “Uh-huh, your ulterior motive finally comes to the surface. I always knew you were a bad boy wrapped up in a suit and tie.”

He leaned forward looking at her intently with a gleam in his eyes. “Oh I plan to be good, very, very good. I’ll even let you have your wicked way with my body later.”

She felt heat all over her entire body. Nigel could light her up quicker than anyone else ever had. “Keep talking like that we might not make it through the meal. I may throw myself at you from across the table.”

“Honey, you are only sealing your fate with those words.” He tapped the table with his fingers and both of them were imagining being naked across the table. She wanted him so much she’d let him do anything he wanted.

She felt her body respond to him. He was just too tempting. She was partly relieved and partly frustrated when the waitress returned so quickly with their food. She needed to change the subject or they would end up putting on a show for the entire restaurant.

“So, what did you do today, besides get into a cage match with Phoenix?”

He gave her a look letting her know that he knew what she was doing. He played along with her. “I checked on my financial investments and found out that my bank account has a freeze on it while I am being investigated.”

“Oh no, I’m so sorry Nigel. If you need anything I’m happy to…” she motioned at the dinner.

He growled out, “I’m not destitute—not by a long shot.”

“I wasn’t trying to piss you. I just wanted to help you.”

“I’m sorry for being a little bit touchy. I can’t stand this, sitting and waiting while someone else determines my future.”

She reached over and took his hand in hers squeezing it comfortingly. “You are still in control of your future, just not of the investigation. Dom, all your friends here at the GCFA and I are doing everything in our power to prove your innocence.”

“I’m lucky to have so many people that believe in me.” He lifted her hand and kissed her knuckles. “I’m lucky to have you.”

She felt her heart constrict and expand. He made her feel so many things, so much love. She was sure he could see it in her eyes. “We’re all lucky to have someone as wonderful as you in our lives too.”

She was about to tell him to cancel dinner and
take her home when his soft expression turned into a cold, guarded one. He let go of her hand and looked at something over her shoulder. She turned to see what had soured his mood and felt her stomach drop.

Clark Davidson was heading their way and on his arm was none other than Sophia Laguard, Nigel’s ex-girlfriend, a galactic super-model, and the only woman who had ever broken up with Nigel. It took him almost a year after their break up before he started dating again and he never let another relationship get serious, he ended it before that could happen. She turned to look at Nigel as a few fleeting emotions came over him before he concealed it. He picked up his glass of wine and took a sip.

Clark stopped at their table. “Good evening Nigel, Miss Jones. Are you enjoying your dinner?”

Nigel answered with no emotion at all. “We were.”

Clark ignored his sarcasm and pulled out a chair for Sophia next to Nigel and walked around to the other side to sit between her and Nigel. “Hope you don’t mind, there was an hour waiting time but when I saw you two over here, I thought what a perfect opportunity to have a little chit chat.”

Sophia pouted with her perfect bow lips. “Clarky, you’re not going to bore us with talk of business the whole night are you?”

Clark chuckled. “Of course not, dearest. Miss Jones, you remember Sophia Laguard don’t you?”

Amelia glared at Nigel who refused to look at her, his eyes were on the perfect and beautiful Sophia. “Vaguely.” That response had Sophia glaring at her.

Sophia smirked, “Nigel, I see that your taste in women since I left you has gone downhill. Had I known you were so desperate that you would fuck your chubby secretary, I could have sent a few of my model friends to fuck you.”

Nigel growled at her but all he said was, “Cut it out Sophia.”

Oh Amelia hated her with a passion, but right at the moment she was furious with Nigel for just sitting there. And all he has to say was ‘Cut it out’. He didn’t even try to defend her.

Clark interjected before Amelia could defend herself. “Now Sophia, our Amelia Jones is a lovely woman if somewhat curvy. You should be a little more understanding. After all, he lost you the love of his life, so you can’t expect anyone else to compare to you. However, I can see why Nigel has taken up with her. She is loyal to a fault, turning down my job offer. Also, she has many—assets,” he pointedly stared at Amelia’s breasts. “That are impressive.”

Nigel finally spoke but it was to Sophia. “Why are you here Sophia?”

Sophia pouted again, “Nigel, you don’t look like you’re happy to see me. Clarky called me and asked if I would like to visit and be his guest. I hoped we could talk and get some things resolved. Clark will take Amy back to her place so we can reacquaint ourselves.” She leaned over toward him letting her top gape open displaying a good portion of her cleavage.

Amelia watched him take a deep breath, but he didn’t pull away from Sophia’s touch. She gripped the arms of her chair. How could he just sit there and do nothing? She had two options, one she could get up and leave the restaurant and leave Nigel. No way would she take him back if he let her leave. Or, she could stand up to them, like she did with the bullies at school who picked on her because of her weight.

She picked up her glass and smiled. “Sophia, are you still begging him to take you back? Pathetic. You know that Nigel never goes back to a woman once he’s done with her. Why do you think he never returned your calls?”

Sophia’s face turned red and those pouted lips now looked like she was sucking on sour prunes. “Do you think he’s really interested in you? He’ll fuck you and then leave you. Like you said, he never returns once he leaves.”

Nigel finally spoke. “That’s not true anymore is it, Amelia?” He looked into her eyes and their connection was instantaneous and strong.

She smiled back at him. “Guess not.” She didn’t elaborate and it was clear that Sophia was not happy being left in the dark.

Nigel waved the waitress over. “Send our meals to my room along with a fresh bottle of this wine.”

  “Yes Mr. Nigel.”

He looked over at Amelia. “Are you ready to go home?”

“Never been more ready.” She took his hand and let him walk her out of the restaurant. She could feel Sophia and Clark’s eyes on them the whole way. She tugged on Nigel’s arm turning him back to her. She lifted up and gave him a whopper of a kiss. Suck on that Sophia!

  Chapter 16

They held hands as they went back to Nigel’s suite but neither spoke a word. Nigel was feeling so many things, he needed time to sort them all out so that he didn’t sound like an idiot when he finally explained things to Amelia.

Amelia had been totally amazing through the whole awkward situation. She held herself together with class and style. He was proud of her and proud to be with her. She managed to do what Nigel should have done, but she gave him the opening he needed. She proved to be the perfect partner for him, even though he didn’t need proof of that.

Once they were in his suite he let her go so that he could close the door. “You were brilliant Amelia, the way you stood up for yourself.”

She turned angry eyes on him. “I had to be otherwise you would have sat there holding Sophia’s damn hand!”

He looked at her in surprise. “I wasn’t holding her hand.”

“You didn’t move away when she touched you!”

“Honey, I was trying to keep my emotions under control. What I really wanted to do was toss both their asses across the room.”

  “I’m not like her.”

He nodded his head. “I know that.”

“She wants you back. She’s been trying to get you to come back to her for a while now.”

“She could want me all she can, but that doesn’t mean she’ll get to have me. What’s going on?”

“I’m not a great beauty or a supermodel. I just don’t see why you’re with me when you could be with her or someone like her?”

He had no idea that she was so unsure of her appeal to him. She always appeared confident and strong. He didn’t realize his silence had done so much damage. He never wanted to hurt her. Nigel went to her and took her face between his large hands.

“I don’t want Sophia, or anyone like her. I’m with you honey. You are the smartest, sweetest, female I have ever met and you are beautiful inside and out.” He stroked her cheek softly.

“You asked her to marry you.”

He looked surprised. No one knew about his intentions. “How do you know that?”

“I found the ring in your coat pocket. The coat fell on the floor in your office and I picked it up. You had gone out for a quick lunch. I wasn’t spying or anything.”

He let her go and walked away before stopping by the dining table. “I bought the ring with the intention of asking her. I thought that she was everything I wanted in a wife. We went out to eat dinner and I was going to propose that night. We saw a family coming into the restaurant, a baby was crying. Sophia complained to the hostess to make sure that the family with the baby wasn’t anywhere near us. I couldn’t believe she was acting so selfish and spoiled. I asked her how she felt about having a family and she laughed. She would never ruin her figure or career by becoming the little wife. I saw something in her that night that opened my eyes to what I had ignored our entire time together. She was mean, selfish, spoiled; the only thing that Sophia loved was Sophia. I ended things.”

“She says she broke it off with you.”

He snorted. “I told her that I wanted to see other people. She didn’t want to be the one being dumped so she told me she was walking away and not to bother with calling her again. I didn’t call her or try to see her. I let her go. It was the best decision I could have made.”

“You didn’t date for almost a year after breaking up with her.”

“I concentrated on work because I was disappointed in myself for not seeing Sophia for what she truly was.”

“Everyone assumed she had broken your hear
t.”

He moved so fast she hadn’t noticed until he had her in his arms. “She never had my heart, that had belonged to only one female and I have that female in my arms.” Her shocked expression made him chuckle.

“What are you saying?” she whispered.

“The only woman I have ever been in love with is you, Amelia.”

She threw her arms around his neck and kissed him soundly. He pulled back and looked at her smiling. “Does that mean you feel the same?”

“Nigel, I love you so much it hurts.”

They kissed again and he lifted her legs to wrap around his waist. Her dress rode up until her panties were exposed. He carried her over to the couch and set her on her feet. “I need you right now.”

“Me too, I need you Nigel.”

He turned her around and laid her bent over the arm of the couch. He ripped her panties from her tossing them somewhere behind him, and growling at the sight of her nicely rounded ass. He stroked her soft pale skin with one hand while he worked on unfastening his pants. They fell down to his ankles. He still had his shoes on but he didn’t want to bother with it at that moment.

“Have you ever been taken in the ass?” He used both hands to spread her cheeks and gently rubbed her puckered hole with his thumb.

“No.” She wiggled her bottom half toward him seeking his touch.

He leaned over her back and asked in her ear. “Are you willing to try for me?”

“Yes,” her breathy response was immediate and desperate.

She was shivering with need from his touch and it made him feel both powerful and humble at the same time. He loved that he could cause her to react with such a need and at the same time he knew that she completely and utterly trusted him with her body and her heart. He would prove to her that she wasn’t wrong in trusting him.

He lowered his hand to stroke her juicy pussy. He wanted to eat her desperately but he had a darker desire that needed to be quenched. He teased her, pumping in her a little then removed his hand making sure that his fingers were coated.
