This had become something so out of control and out of her comfort zone, Caitlin didn't know if she should just put her clothes on and leave.

Instead, with a quick and uncertain look back at Julian - who sat there, nodding his consent - she turned to Steve, a sudden sheet of desire coursing through her as she looked at his naked, excited state.

The power of having two gorgeous men lusting for her was not lost. Caitlin thought all she'd wanted tonight was to be in the arms of Julian. She hadn't counted for a moment on the sense of arousal she'd feel, having them both want her.

Steve's eyes, hooded with lust, caught hers. Before tonight they'd never known each other - but they'd experienced something in that mosh pit she couldn't quite put her finger on. Looking at him again, naked and wanting, she felt as if they'd known each other longer than a few hours. It seemed strangely natural to be here, flushed and excited in front of him. Knowing her ultimate fantasy man watched her every move.

"What are you waiting for?" His voice low and etched with lust, Steve let go his engorged member. Slick from his own juices, it bobbed and waved against the hard flesh of his stomach, inviting her to touch.

Surprising herself, Caitlin licked her lips in anticipation of taking him in her mouth.

She knelt in front of him and the scent of his maleness assaulted her. Even though she hadn't known Steve long, she felt as if she knew his cock. It had been thrusting into the small of her back almost the entire time Julian had been up on stage.

Now, here she was, within inches of having this fine specimen of man at her mercy. A surge of power overcame her as she took all of him deep into her mouth.

Steve moaned and his cock twitched under her tongue. Caitlin's own need and desire flared in response. Cock in mouth, Julian behind watching, she had an understanding of what it must feel like for Julian on stage. Brazen lust flooded through her.

"He likes that." She almost started and lost her rhythm as she sensed Julian's presence behind her.

Warm hands began to caress her body. They didn't belong to Steve - no way could he fondle between her legs from where he was sitting.

Julian pulled her up onto her knees.

"I like watching you do that to him." Julian purred from behind her.

This wasn't how she'd had it planned, but the vixen inside her had come out to play and was relishing the experience. Was he really going to put himself into her while she had another man's cock in her mouth?

The unmistakable feeling of the tip of a cock nudging at her.

  He was.

"Don't stop sucking him off." Julian ordered.

  Why would she stop?

Steve couldn't believe what he saw.

The bastard rock star had come over and he was going to fuck her - not more than two feet in front of him.

Oh, but dear lord, the feeling of her mouth slipping over his cock - the tickle of her lip ring as it scraped down his sensitive flesh - he could barely contain himself. He wanted to come in her mouth. Maybe the bastard rock star coming so close would take his mind off the exquisite feelings coursing through his body.

All he could see was the light blonde of her hair, lying across the dark hair on his upper thighs. The soft waving motion, almost as if it were being blown by a light breeze.

Steve tried not to look at Julian, he didn't want to look at him - it disturbed him how much the beautiful rock star had aroused him when he worked the crowd at the concert. Steve didn't want to touch the man, but here, now, naked and displaying his own arousal, Steve couldn't help but be turned on by him.

Burying the disquiet within and concentrating on the pleasure of the here and now Steve focused on the sensations Caitlin elicited from his body, trying to ignore the nagging sense that something was out of place.

Julian slapped Caitlin, hard, on the rump. They both jumped and his cock popped out of her mouth.

"You can return the favor later." Julian grinned at Steve and slid his cock home.

Caitlin moaned in response as he entered her, a deep guttural acknowledgment of pleasure.

The cool rush of air, or the sight of a gorgeous woman being fucked by an even more gorgeous man - Steve wasn't sure, but the heady combination meant he could contain himself no longer. He exploded, his own come lying in sticky globules across his stomach.

Steve sighed, surrendering to his own release, and relaxed back into the chair.

Julian took in Steve's limp body and gave a satisfied grunt. He wanted him to watch the show - and with all the tension drained from his body, he would be happy now to do as ordered. Caitlin was about to have the ride of her life.

Caitlin hadn't planned it this way, but the vixen she'd unleashed was having a fantastic night.

When Julian had pulled her up on stage, whispered sweet words in her ear and then promised her an experience she'd never forget, Steve had not been part of her plans.

Now Julian filled her, filled her like she'd never been filled before and yet, despite the longing and desire she'd harbored for him for years, in this moment, the man she felt closest too was Steve.

Long streaks of his own come lay in bubbles amongst the sparse hair of his stomach, rolling like summer hay across the miniature hills of muscle under his skin.

Caitlin knew she should have been engaged one hundred percent with the alluring rock star who pounded relentlessly into her, but something had changed. Something about the way Steve's hair lay across the side of his cheek interested her. The length of his eyelashes caught her attention.

The rock star she'd longed to touch and spend time with excited her physically, mentally and emotionally, but now she also began to bond with the man in front of her.

Steve's eyes flickered and as he opened them, a warm and genuine smile lit his face, a smile Caitlin knew to be directed at her.

Despite her own misgivings, the practiced ministrations of their rock god, combined with the genuine affection she saw from Steve, tipped her over the edge. The rumblings of orgasm began to wind through her and she leaned forward, into the supportive arms of Steve. Taking in the scent of his hot, hard body, she clung on and allowed Julian to push her over the edge and into the abyss.

Who knows how long the three of them had been dozing? The sex had been what the sex always was after a show: pleasant, satisfying, but nothing that he hadn't had before.

Julian looked up at the ceiling. The night had by no means gone the way he'd expected it and, he guessed from the way the blonde had thrown her arm over the bloke after she came neither had it gone the way she'd been expecting, either.

Mags. It was the ever-elusive Mags he wanted and here he found himself. Yet again in bed with a couple of strangers.

Why did it always come to this? Thousands of women a night threw themselves at him, and the one woman he wanted, the woman who lay on the other side of the wall, eluded him.

Caitlin stirred and Steve sighed. The two of them readjusted themselves on the football-size bed and drifted off together.

That's all he wanted. Some togetherness. Would it ever happen, he wondered?

Axel Banner studied his disguise in the mirror. It felt odd to be wearing dirty sneaks, scruffy jeans, and a crumpled hoodie. Add a pair of sunglasses to his outfit and he was practically unrecognizable, just like any regular guy on the street. He enjoyed being the bassist for the rock band Ascendance along with fellow band members Jay, Boone, Rocky, and Grey.

However, it was good to be no one sometimes. Anonymity suited him, especially when it came to a private matter like this. He strode out of his apartment. Joker and Red, his bodyguards, gave him a second look. Good. That meant his disguise worked.

Dominant shifters had a hard time hiding what they were, but Axel had years of practice hiding his lion’s aura. When a shifter looked at him, they could only tell he was a mediocre shifter and not give him another glance. Most people, even his kind, became instantly wary of Alphas.

  “I’m heading out. Alone.”

Axel placed emphasis on the last word. His band mates knew why he needed to be alone once a month, why he needed to pretend to be someone else. His bodyguards did too. Joker and Red had worked for him for five years, but they still traded concerned looks. Axel thought he’d have a fight on his hands. While he was able to hold his own against powerful shifters, Axel wasn’t violent by nature. Normally, he didn’t seek out fights like his best friend, Grey. Today though, he’d claw his way out to be alone.

“Very well,” Joker said, much to his surprise. “Jay called. He wants to remind you—”

“To come on time for the concert, I know.”

Axel didn’t mean to sound annoyed. His band mates were already letting him skip practice that afternoon.

Joker and Red let him pass. Knowing the paparazzi waited outside, Axel took the emergency elevator leading to a back alley. Once outside, he made sure to stick to the corners. Enough practice made him experienced enough to dodge the media hounds. No one gave his scruffy appearance another look. Good. Axel swung by a flower shop and bought a bouquet of white roses.

After, he took the bus out of the city and got off a mile away from St. Peter’s cemetery. Everything about Nashville reminded him of the past. This was the first city they’d toured and where he met Nathan.

Not in a rush, Axel enjoyed his walk. He reached Nathan’s grave and placed the flowers there. Like always, memories came rushing back. Axel met Nathan right after Ascendance’s first concert. They were relatively unknown then, save for a few hardcore fans. A professor at the local community college, Nathan bumped into him at a café. The human had even mistaken him for a bum who played for quarters.

Smile on his lips, Axel sat down, his back against the tombstone. Nathan wouldn’t mind, he knew. He shut his eyes. The car accident happened in a flash, right after Axel gave Nathan the mating mark. Nathan didn’t suffer, but died on site. Axel meanwhile, went berserk, nearly killing the driver of the Ford Explorer that ran his mate over.

The press had a field day with that incident. Axel blew out a breath, recalling how much trouble he’d caused Jay, Boone, Rocky, and Grey. Until the moment of the accident, he’d kept his relationship with Nathan a secret. The press speculated who Nathan was to him, but they never found the real answers and Axel didn’t feel like sharing.

“Feels like yesterday, baby.” Axel knew he ought to stop talking to Nathan’s grave as if Nathan’s ghost was there. His therapist said it wasn’t healthy, but what did Dr. Sanders know about grief?

Losing a mate wasn’t like losing a wife. It felt like literally half his soul had been torn out. Axel felt numb and all emptied out ever since. He fingered the marble headstone, tracing the dirt accumulated at the tip. What use was fame and fortune, if Axel’s passion for music died the day Nathan did?

Axel continued playing music because of Jay, Boone, Rocky, and Grey. He knew they needed him as much as he needed them. Without his band mates’ constant support, he would have taken his own life by now. Most shifters who lost their mates resorted to suicide.

Seeing Jay, Boone, Rocky, and Grey find their respective mates unexpectedly hurt too. Oh, he was happy for them. Axel didn’t think his other band mates would settle down, given their propensity to date groupies and dump them the very same night. Sighing, Axel started telling Nathan about how everyone else found their missing halves, leaving him to the cold.

Now, there was only him left. Lately, Axel had been thinking of quitting the band. He’d voiced it a couple of times now, but his band mates didn’t want to hear it. Axel was hard to replace, they said, because all three of them gave amazing performances. Excuses, all of it—Axel knew Ascendance wouldn’t have trouble finding a replacement bassist.

  What would he do next?

Axel had it all mapped out. Over the years, he’d been looking at remote properties, areas where no one would recognize him. Places where there were plenty of woods to run in for his lion. He would build his own cabin and take up lumberjacking or something. If nothing worked to help elevate the pain in his heart and soul, Axel would have at least found a good place to die.

He’d never voice that thought to his band mates though. The guys would definitely go berserk.

“After this tour, I’m telling them I’ll quit. I’ve made you wait so long,” Axel murmured to the gravestone.

The cell phone in his back pocket beeped. Fishing it out, he noticed a number of missed calls and messages from Jay, Boone, Rocky, Grey, and his bodyguards. A quick check on his watch told him he’d been here longer than he liked. Rising to his feet, Axel hadn’t realized the sun was setting. He needed to avoid traffic and head to the concert hall in time for the performance.

Once, he’d taken such immense pleasure rocking it out on stage, playing in sync with his band mates.

Once, he’d helped write the songs and even created his own.

The songs he wrote had all been inspired by his love for Nathan. Now, he couldn’t lion to play those songs and the band thankfully never used them on stage again. Occasionally though, Axel still heard the radio playing them.

It didn’t matter, he had thought. Jay and Grey could handle the song writing part. Boone and Rocky could help. The fans never noticed the change in him. They all said he was better, that he recovered just fine. Axel loved his fans and appreciated all their support. He couldn’t lion telling them he was good at pretending to be what he was not, to try and hold things together. Too bad Axel had nothing left to give.

Dr. Sanders said time would heal all wounds.

Axel never believed it to be true. Time only fucking made all his old wounds ached. The longer he spent time with the other band members and their mates, the more hurt and envious he became. The guys deserved more, certainly not the poison Axel brought to the table. He’d make his friends understand, that this was the best solution. There might be a long fight ahead, but he didn’t mind.

He’d run all the possible scenarios in his head and prepared counter arguments to any issue his friends might bring up.

Jay would remind him of all the group had been through and use emotion to persuade him to stay. Grey and Boone would yell, tell him to strap on a pair of balls…or keep punching him until Axel reconsidered. Rocky would keep quiet, but Axel would be able to read the judgment in his eyes.

A smile tugged at the corner of his lips. Despite being in an unfixable state, he owed his brothers everything. Sensing someone else behind him, Axel turned. The most amazing scent reached him. His nostrils flared. The alpha lion inside him woke, eager
to see where that wonderful smell originated from.

Down boy, Axel chided his lion.

A man walked towards him, dressed in a plain jeans and navy-blue ill-fitting blazer—like the guy wasn’t the sort who usually wore blazers. He was in his mid-twenties, about five-foot-eight and had a slender runner’s building. Human, his lion indicated. He had hazel eyes and short brown hair, a cute boy-next-door look, someone Axel would have flirted with in a coffee shop…if things weren’t so fucked-up.
