“I want you to stay perfectly still,” Peter said, moving Chad’s head so that he was staring straight ahead, putting a hand on his stomach and pushing it up to flatten his back. When he had Chad where he wanted him, obedient and frozen like a statue, he wandered off into the kitchen to get himself a glass of wine.

Peter took his time, heading to the bedroom to pick up the book he was reading, and when he came back five minutes later Chad was exactly where he left him.

He didn’t react at all when Peter came back into the room, like he was in a trance.

Peter ignored him and sat down on the couch, lifting his feet and putting them down on Chad’s back with a sigh. Putting his glass down on the end table an arm’s reach away from where he was sitting, Peter looked at Chad over the top of his propped-open book.

Other than an increase in his breathing, he was holding perfectly still.

  It was perfect.

  ***

Chad felt like he was floating. Time passed, but he had no idea how much. He almost couldn’t feel his body, except for the point on his back where Peter’s heels dug into his flesh.

“Are you doing okay down there?” Peter asked. He didn’t lift his feet, but Chad could see him looking up over his book out of the corner of his eye.

It took a while before Chad could gather his thoughts to answer.

“It’s intense,” he said, his voice rough. Peter’s feet lifted and he moved off the couch, crouching down next to Chad and stroking his back.

“Good intense or bad intense?” His hand settled on the back of Chad’s neck, and every slight twitch of his fingers felt like they rocked the world.

“Good,” Chad said, closing his eyes and trying his best to stay frozen. Now that Peter was demanding his focus, he became aware of how uncomfortable he actually was. The wool area rug under his hands and knees itched, and his back ached.

“Tell me if you need a break,” Peter said, moving back into position on the couch. This time he crossed his feet at the ankles, and the single point of pressure felt distinctly different.

Chad wished that he wasn’t wearing his clothes. His cock was tucked against his left thigh, and he was leaking enough pre-cum that his jeans were getting sticky and uncomfortable.

“Settle,” Peter warned, and Chad realized he’d been shifting his leg to move his cock. He flushed, the warning pushing him back into that floaty place where nothing but existing and pleasing Peter mattered.

Chad barely registered it a while later when Peter lifted his legs again and pulled him to his feet. He let Peter walk him into the bedroom, leaning against the bigger alpha for support, turning his face into Peter’s body so that he could breathe in his delicious scent.

Peter put him down on the center of the bed, pulled down his jeans, and stood back. Chad could feel the air on his ass like a cool breeze, but his cock was still trapped against his thigh. He humped the mattress, needy and feeling like he was right on the verge on coming.

Peter climbed on top of the bed and straddled Chad’s legs, strong hands grabbing his hips and pulling him up. Chad gasped as Peter fucked into him with a single smooth thrust. It felt like fireworks were going off inside of him. He could feel Peter filling him up, pleasure traveling up his spine and through his extremities like an electric current.

“Good boy,” Peter said, a hand on Chad’s shoulder pinning him down. Chad realized he’d been writhing, the moans filling the air coming from him. “Relax and take it.”

That was all the warning Chad got before Peter started pounding into him, fucking him hard enough to make the massive bed slam against the wall.

Chad cried out, Peter’s hands on him strong and bruising, the cock filling him up feeling like it was branding him from the inside.

“You’re mine,” Peter snarled, his mouth on Chad’s neck. Chad’s cock throbbed in response. “Say it!” Peter demanded, fucking into him so hard the world shook. “Fucking say it!”

“I’m yours,” Chad moaned, overwhelmed and in ecstasy. Peter shot his load, his knot swelling fast and locking him tight inside Chad’s hole. The pressure on his prostate sent Chad over the edge, and he screamed as he emptied his balls into the sheets.

“All mine,” Peter mumbled, dropping down and letting Chad take his full weight. He sounded drunk and extremely pleased.

Chad felt a warm feeling in his belly. He doubted that Peter had ever sounded like that when talking about anyone else.

Blinking, mind clearing now that he’d shot his load, Chad wondered why Peter hadn’t claimed him yet. They were practically living together, and it was clear that Peter wanted to bite him every time they had sex.

If Chad weren’t an alpha, his neck would have been covered in bruises.

“Stop thinking so hard,” Peter muttered, and Chad snorted out a laugh.

He closed his eyes and let his mind wander in less weighty directions, knowing that sleep would claim him soon.

There was no reason to worry.

  Chapter 26

The next morning Chad ordered room service pancakes, scrambled eggs, and a plate full of bacon.

“You’re going to get fat,” Peter said, staring at him over the rim of his coffee cup as he dug in. Chad just grinned at him and poured another helping of maple syrup on his pancakes.

If he kept taking Tank Security fitness and training classes, the chances of getting fat were pretty much zero.

“So what was up with you yesterday?” Chad asked, taking another huge bite of his pancakes and chewing it with a strip of bacon so that his cheeks bulged.

“One of our clients tried to set me up in a sting operation for the FBI and ended up challenging me. It wasn’t pretty.”

Chad stopped chewing and stared at Peter with his mouth full. Peter had been in a challenge? He couldn’t believe it. Chad had faced off against other alphas plenty of times, but it had never gone that far.

And the FBI? Why was the FBI setting up sting operations to catch Peter?

Chad swallowed the rest of the food in his mouth without chewing. “What?”

“He was in trouble, and he tried to make a deal by stabbing me in the back. It didn’t work.”

Chad nodded. Obviously it hadn’t worked. Peter wasn’t a criminal.

“What are you going to do now?” Chad asked.

“About the FBI?” Peter shrugged. “Nothing. The only proof they had that I’d done something wrong was Sprain’s word, and he’s dead, so… they’ve got nothing.”

Chad froze for a second time. “What do you mean he’s dead?”

Peter just stared at him like he was being particularly dim-witted.

“He challenged me, Chad. Do you honestly think I’d let that go?”

Chad remembered suddenly how Merchant had trained them with the assumption that every real fight would end in death. Was that how alphas like him and Peter operated?

“So what? If I accidentally challenged you, you’d kill me?”

Peter scoffed. “You wouldn’t challenge me, Chad. I don’t think that’s something you have to worry about.”

Not the reassuring and resounding NO Chad had been after. When he just continued staring at Peter incredulously, Peter sighed.

“It’s not like it’s an instinct I can control,” he said, putting his coffee cup down. “I’m challenged, I fight. I fight, it’s to the death. That’s just how I’m built. This can’t be news to you.”

Chad shook his head. It wasn’t, really. He knew that uber-alphas were intense about things like this—violent and unpredictable. It’s why they were so scary. But it hadn’t seemed to apply to Peter.

“I just… you killed him. Doesn’t that make you feel bad?”

Peter stared at him like he was speaking another language. His expression was blank and a little confused, like he couldn’t quite figure out what Chad was asking.

Chad tried to wrap his head around the idea that Peter had gone straight from killing someone to playing kinky sex games
with him like it was nothing. A bad day, that’s how he’d described it. Like he’d spilled coffee on his shirt or missed a meeting.

“Not really. He tried to set me up and he attacked me. As far as I’m concerned he got what was coming to him.”

Chad nodded. He understood what Peter meant, but he still couldn’t grasp how Peter was being so calm.

Was he just used to it? The thought was terrifying.

“Hey,” Peter said, walking up so that he was standing next to Chad’s chair. He stroked his hand down the side of Chad’s face and rubbed his earlobe between his thumb and forefinger. “I don’t go looking for fights, and I give plenty of warning when an alpha starts crossing the line. I haven’t initiated a challenge since I was in my twenties. I don’t take it lightly, if that’s what you’re asking.”

Chad nodded, his earlobe slipping out of Peter’s grasp. That did actually make him feel better.

Stepping away, Peter let out a small chuckle and sat down on the other side of the table.

“What?” Chad asked. He didn’t see what was so funny.

“It’s nothing. I was just going to ask you something this morning, but now it really doesn’t seem appropriate.”

Chad’s heart beat faster. He bit his bottom lip, wondering if the question was what he thought it was.

“You can still ask,” he said, his voice coming out breathless. Peter’s mouth split into a slow grin.

  “Yeah?”

Chad nodded. Peter rose from his seat and came back around the table, but this time he pushed Chad’s chair back so that he could crouch down in front of him. It wasn’t the bended knee that betas used when proposing, but that’s what it reminded Chad of.

“Will you let me claim you?” Peter asked, somehow managing to make it seem like he was looming even though he was crouching down. “Bite you? Make you wear my mark on your neck so the whole world knows who you belong to?”

Chad licked his lips and nodded. His heart was racing.

“You need to say the word,” Peter said, leaning in closer as his grin stretched wider. Chad could feel the heat of his body against his skin and his smell was intoxicating. He felt like he was about to be devoured.

  “Yes.”

The word was barely out of his mouth before Peter sprang into action. He grabbed Chad by the hair and yanked his head back, biting down over his collarbone and sealing Chad’s fate forever.

Chad could feel Peter’s teeth sinking into his flesh, hot and sharp and painful, but that was nothing compared to the feeling of being owned. Peter’s claim was like a physical thing inside of him, taking up space and making his skin feel tight and raw.

Peter withdrew his teeth and licked over the wound he’d made, snarling and huffing and acting every inch the caveman. Chad just held on, Peter practically sitting in his lap at this point.

“You’re mine now,” Peter said after a while, his legs spread on either side of the chair, sitting on Chad’s lap. Chad felt overwhelmed, and the sheer happiness in Peter’s voice made him grin so hard his cheeks hurt.

“All mine,” Peter repeated. This time he sounded smug and self-satisfied.

“All yours,” Chad confirmed. Peter’s chest rumbled happily, almost like he was purring, and Chad could feel the vibrations like a pleasant tingle all through his body.

Chad let out an incredulous laugh, hardly able to believe what had just happened.

It almost felt like a dream.

  ***

Chad was a little disappointed when Peter said he had to go into work, but he didn’t complain. He took a shower, the water making the bite on his neck sting, and then called his parents.

To say they were shocked was an understatement. For an alpha, a claiming bite was about as serious as you could get.

“It just happened this morning?” his mother asked, sounding concerned.

“I know I should have introduced you first, but it feels right,” Chad said. He was smiling, the tender pain of Peter’s bite making his cock half hard.

In the end there was nothing his parents could do but offer their support. While it was technically possible for Chad and Peter to break it off, it was exceedingly rare for an alpha to let go of someone they’d claimed.

He belonged to Peter now. He’d accepted Peter’s offer and all that it implied, and in return for protection, care, and comfort, he would be expected to submit.

Hanging up the phone and lying back on the couch, Chad was struck by what a huge decision he’d just made. He had an alpha, someone responsible for him who could be held legally accountable for his actions.

Someone with the right to punish him.

Chad shuddered. He wondered what being punished by Peter would be like. He could imagine Peter, stern and formidable, pushing him down over his lap with a firm grip on his neck and lifting his hand up high… Chad could almost feel the alpha’s palm on his ass.

Grinning, licking his lips, and working his cock through his sweats, Chad couldn’t believe how much the idea of playing kinky sex games with Peter was turning him on.

Then again, it shouldn’t surprise him. Peter had used him as a human footstool, and Chad had loved every second of it. Chad obviously had hidden depths of kinky depravity, and Peter brought it out of him in ways that thrilled and surprised him.

Restless, feeling like he needed to move, Chad headed to Peter’s gym and started working out, despite the fact that he’d just showered. As he lay down on the weightlifting bench and started lifting, cock still pressing against the front of his sweats, he wondered if he’d ever reach a point where something Peter wanted would turn him off.

Putting the weights back on their support and moving on to the dumbbells, Chad decided he didn’t need to worry.

If he ever found himself not liking what Peter was doing, Peter would stop.

  It was that simple.

  Chapter 27

Peter took the morning off work to drive Chad to the airport, and it was just as awful as he’d thought it would be. It took all his willpower to not order Chad to stay.

“That everything?” Peter asked, looking around Chad’s dingy apartment. Chad had his duffle bag over his shoulder, all packed and ready to go.

“Yep,” Chad said. He looked around the room like he was looking for a reason to linger.

“I’ll have someone pack your stuff and move you into my place before you get back,” Peter walked up to Chad and pulled him in for a kiss. “Is the furniture yours?”

  Chad shook his head.

“Good. We should get going in case there’s traffic on the highway.” He took Chad’s hand and led him out of the apartment and down the stairs. A head popped out of the door leading to the second-story hallway.

  “Chad, are you leaving?”

It was Chad’s friend, Topher. He looked at Peter warily, stepping into the hall. Peter just lifted his eyebrow, having no intention of preventing Chad from saying goodbye to his friend.

“Yeah, we’re heading to the airport now.”

Topher walked forward and shook Chad’s hand, and then pulled him in for a one-armed hug. Peter suppressed a growl, knowing that there was nothing even remotely sexual in the show of affection.

“Well, I’ll miss you. Have a nice flight and… holy fuck, is that a claiming bite?” Topher turned to Peter with a shocked expression, looking at him like he’d just found out he’d stolen Chad’s manhood.

Chad just smiled. “Yeah, he asked me yesterday morning. Hurts like a bitch.” He sounded thrilled.

“Wow,” Topher said, his shocked expression falling away. “I guess congratulations are in order.”

“Thank you.” Peter moved next to Chad and put a proprietary hand on his lower back.

“Well, give me a call when you get back so that we can hang out.” Topher shot a nervous look in Peter’s direction, like he was asking if that was okay, and Peter forced a friendly smile. He didn’t want to alienate Chad from his friends, no matter how jealous he was.
/>
  Topher relaxed.

  “I will,” Chad promised.

They said goodbye, and Topher slipped out of the stairway and back into the hall. When the door closed behind him, Chad chuckled.

Peter gave him a quizzical look as they headed down the remaining stairs. “What’s so funny?”

Chad shook his head. “He’s so scared of you. He thinks you’re terrifying.”
