Lessons From the Professor

“Oh, that’s good, honey.”
“How’s everyone doing?”
“We’re good. I actually wanted to check in on you to see how things are going with Carissa.”
“She’s doing okay; Michelle goes to school here, so she’s spending a lot of time with her. To be honest I don’t see her much with my schedule.”
“I know you’re busy. You can send that girl home any time you get tired.”
“It’s okay, Mom. I know you could use a break. You’re retired; you’re supposed to be enjoying yourself.”
“I have my red hats, bingo, and my part time job. I keep myself active, young lady; I’m only in my sixties, you know.”
“I know, Mom. I just worry about you.”
“Well don’t, it’s supposed to be the other way around. I ran into an old friend of yours yesterday.”
“Oh really?”
“Yes, Jackson.”
A chill went through her body at the mention of her ex. Speak of the devil, or in my case, think.
“That’s nice.”
“Apparently his engagement fell through, and he’s back to being single.”
“Mom, stop right there. I’m not interested in getting back together with Jackson.” But I might like to talk to him.
“Honey, he was a good catch. A doctor from a good family who was crazy about you. I’m sure whatever your issues were you could work them out. Maybe they won’t even matter anymore now; you’re both older and wiser. “
“It’s not going to happen.” This would all be so much easier if she could just come out and admit she was seeing someone.
“I just don’t understand why you’re being so stubborn about this, Sutton Anne! He could take care of you.”
“I take care of myself just fine.” She gritted her teeth as she counted to ten mentally. If her mother had a clue of Jackson’s true nature, petitioning her to renew their relationship would be the last thing she’d want to do.
“I know, but you don’t have to do that your entire life, and I am not going to stand by and watch you end up alone either.”
“Mom, I’m only thirty-one.”
“Now, time flies.”
She rolled her eyes, tuning her mother out as she droned on. The usual spiel about marriage and children went in one ear and out the other. In her town, once you hit twenty-five you were practically an old maid.
“So, can I give him your phone number?”
“No, you can’t,” said Sutton. Her mom was asking her permission now, but she had no doubt in her mind she’d already given him her phone number and presented her like a trussed up turkey on Thanksgiving Day. She hoped to God he didn’t call her. Her stomach rolled at the thought of hearing his voice again.
“But I wouldn’t be opposed to taking his.” Guilt raced through her. She had just solidified things with Sidney. It’s just for closure, Sutton. You’re not going to fall back into that old trap. If she called him she’d keep things to herself. There was really no reason to upset Sidney.
The happy lilt audible in her Mother’s voice as she rattled off the number made her sigh. She was probably already planning the wedding in her head.
“Well I guess that’s a step in the right direction. I’ll leave it alone, now. Everything happens for a reason, and the odds of me running into Jackson in the grocery store after all this time shouldn’t be ignored.”
“Well you and the universe are just going to have to forgive me. I didn’t say I was actually going to call him. ”
“You’re always joking, but I’m worried about you. I don’t want you to end up old and alone like me.”
“Mom, the love you and Dad shared was worth more than what most people ever experience. It wouldn’t be a bad thing to end up like you. Besides, you know you’re still fly, Mom. You can get a man to court if you wanted.”
“Hmph, well I don’t. I’m done with all that mess.”
“Then maybe you should tell Mr. Henry that,” Sutton said. She was eager to shift the focus onto the widowed man who’d been after her mom for the past couple of years. Carissa hadn’t told her Mom about her dating suspicions just yet, but it was only a matter of time.
“Mr. Henry is just lonely. We enjoy one another’s company from time to time.”
“Mmmhmm.”
Their conversation moved on to lighter subjects, and she breathed a mental sigh of relief at the bullet dodged.
Sutton sat on the edge of her bed, and played with the cell phone in her hand. This was her chance to get the closure she craved. Never one to waffle, she dialed the number she’d scribbled down on a piece of paper and held her breath as it rang. Once, Twice, Three…. Maybe she should hang up.
“Hello.”
Her throat seemed to tighten when the familiar baritone rumbled in her ear.
“Jackson?”
“Sutton? Is that you?”
“Umm, yeah, how’ve you been?”
“Not too bad, I gave your Mom my number, but I didn’t expect you to call. You were pretty adamant about never speaking to me when you left.”
“Can you blame me?”
“No. I’m man enough to admit what I was doing was wrong.”
Her eyes widened with shock. It looked like he’d done some growing over the years.
“I didn’t call you to rehash the past or place blame. I just wanted to know where we started to go wrong, and how I missed it?”
“You were young and naïve, and I was reaching the height of my career and arrogant.”
Hearing him so humbled softened the bitter anger she’d kept directed at him.
“I won’t say you’re wrong , but there are two people in a relationship.”
“Don’t get me wrong. It’s good to talk to you, and I had hoped you would call. I just can’t help but wonder why you have the sudden need to talk to me about this.”
“I think five years is long enough to carry something around without gaining closure, don’t you?”
“Is that what you really want? Closure?” His voice deepened, and she rolled her eyes.
“Yes, Jackson. This wasn’t some sad attempt to reconnect with you. I just wanted to hear your side of things.”
“I was stupid, and didn’t realize what I had, Sutton. You were an excellent girlfriend, a little too focused on school and your career, but if I had mentioned it to you we could’ve reached a compromise.”
“Why are you being so … accommodating?”
“You aren’t the only one who needed closure over this. After you left I compared every girl I ever dated to you, and most of them came up lacking. I spent a year pretending the random woman lying beside me were you.”
She cleared her throat, uncomfortable with the direction their conversation was being steered to.
“Thank you for being so candid with me,” she said.
“We were happy there for a long time though, weren’t we?”
“We were, Jackson. The problem was it was all based on a lie.”
“It really wasn’t.”
“Are you going to tell me you weren’t cheating on me the entire time?”
The silence that fell said everything she needed to hear.
“Thanks for being honest with me, Jackson. I’m going to go now.”
She disconnected and breathed a sigh of relief. He was her first love; it was natural to think of him from time to time. But the spark that had existed between them was gone now. His decision to cheat was his alone, and nothing she could’ve done would’ve changed that. Sutton had repeated that sentence a million times in her head. This time she truly believed it.
Chapter Seven
Sutton’s cell phone rang for the second time in a row, and they both sighed as she tensed in his lap.
“I should get that. It might be the hospital.”
“I know you love your job, pet, but sometimes I find myself wanting to smash that cellular of yours to smithereens.”
“Me, too, on many occasions.”
She slid
from his lap, and he admired her outfit. The discipline corset was made of black vinyl, accentuated her hour glass figure, and stopped just under her breasts to allow her round globes freedom. Her dark Hershey’s kiss nipples were one of his favorite erogenous spots. There was something naughty about watching her do everyday activities in her corset and four inch black spiked heels with sheer black stockings that had a seam down the middle. He massaged the bulge in his pants as he watched her bend over to retrieve the phone from her purse. They’d been moving ahead one step at a time, and now he was ready to move things forward and test her limits.
He frowned when her face fell, and she began to speak in hushed whispers. Sidney didn’t like to see his pet upset. She was strong willed and independent. Which led to people taking advantage of her strength, in his opinion. He rose from the couch and made his way behind. Sutton’s round ass beckoned, and he gave in to her siren’s call. He gripped her hips tight as he ground into her ass. She gasped, and he smirked when she struggled to continue her conversation.
“I-I don’t think we have anything else to say to each other.” Her back arched, and her hips bucked against him when he reached around to tweak her nipples. She let out a mewl, and he bent to whisper into her ear.
“Get off the phone.”
“This conversation is over.” She hit the end button on her cell phone, and he nipped at her neck.
“Who was that?” he asked.
“No one important.”
He frowned. Evasiveness didn’t sit well with him. “Are you keeping secrets from me now, pet?”
“N-no, Professor.”
“I think you are, and that sort of disobedience deserves a punishment.” Sutton turned to peer at him over her shoulder. Her eyes were wide with what he believed was a mixture of fear and excitement.
“Go stand by the couch.”
They had slowly worked their way to this more traditional version of Dom and submissive behavior. Their routine for play was simple. She placed on her sub training collar, addressed him by Sir or Professor, and carried out his requests. He started out small, having her sit on his lap, as he allowed her to get used to his touch and his requests. There had been some resistance, but for a newbie she did exceptionally well.
“Lift your skirt up and show me that pretty little pussy of yours,” he said as he sank in to the couch. She was beautiful with her body full of tension and her eyes glossy with a need only he could fulfill. Sutton was always wound so tight her climaxes were explosive.
“You’re dripping wet. You like how I talk to you, don’t you?”
“Yes, Professor.”
“I asked you a question earlier about the caller you were speaking to, and you choose not to answer, didn’t you?”
“Yes, Professor. I’m sorry.”
“Oh it’s too late for that, pet. I’m going to have to punish you now.”
“W-what are you going to do?”
“Silence. Because you’re new to this I’ve given you plenty of leeway, but this I can’t overlook. ”
She clamped her mouth shut, and he smiled, pleased by her actions. “Good girl, now come here and lie across my lap.” She positioned herself over his knees gingerly, and he caressed her plump ass.
“You know what happens to little girls who disobey?” He trailed his fingers over her mocha flesh as she quivered.
“N-no.”
“They get spanked.”
Sidney brought his hand down on her left cheek with a firm slap, and she cried out and arched her back in an attempt to escape. He held her down with one arm, delivering a number of alternating blows to each cheek. He paused to caress her flushed rear and purred in the back of her throat when his fingers dipped south and discovered she was soaking wet. Could this woman get any more perfect? She hadn’t mentioned yellow or red, so he knew she was enjoying it.
“I can tell you enjoyed that, pet, because your pussy is drenched. Can you take a few more?”
“Yes, Professor,” she whispered.
Her thighs rubbed together in an attempt for friction, and she squealed when he began her spanking once more. He delivered ten more blows before he stopped to rub her reddened ass, placing a gentle kiss on her right cheek as he showered her with praise.
“You did such a good job, pet. This was exactly what you needed, wasn’t it?”
Sidney pulled her into his lap, and wrapped her in a cocoon made from the soft brown blanket he kept on the couch. He rocked her gently as she rested in his lap, limp and compliant. Small sobs escaped, and tears slid down her face. After a time he spoke.
“Now are you ready to talk about what happened earlier on the phone?” he asked.
“My ex-fiancé Jackson called.” He tensed as a chill ran down his spine.
“Why would he be calling you?”
“He ran into my mother a few weeks ago, and I ended up calling him.”
“Why?” he asked, careful to disguise the anger that built up inside of him.
“Because we left a lot of things unsaid when we broke up.”
“And you want me to believe that was all that went on?” Her body stiffened as she moved to pull away from his embrace. He tightened his grip in response and shook his head.
“I didn’t tell you to get up.”
She remained in his lap, tense as she turned to look at him.
“What do you want me to say? I’ve told you the truth.”
“If it was a simple as what you’ve said, why would you waste your time lying?”
“So we could avoid this moment we’re having right now.”
“I don’t like being lied to, Sutton.”
“I’m sorry.”
“So am I. Trust goes both ways, and this is a huge breach in my eyes.”
She sighed and glanced down as his heart pounded in his chest. Damn it! I should’ve known this would happen. He was ready to push her off his lap and explode when she began to speak.
“I like being with you, Sidney…. I enjoy what we do.”
“Then why talk to him in the first place?”
“Because I needed to clear the air and reconcile some things with myself before I could move forward with you. I’ve never told anyone exactly why I broke things off with Jackson. I was still in nursing school when we met, and he was a doctor ten years my senior. For a while things seemed perfect. He was polite, thoughtful, sensitive, and respectful of my goals. He even praised me for my virginity. I should’ve known then he was too good to be true.”
“What happened, love?” he asked, his tone gentle now that she’d opened up. He wasn’t a heartless bastard; he just didn’t fancy being played again.
“I walked in on him and one of the nurses having sex in one of the empty patient rooms. It turns out he was sleeping with half the hospital staff. He told me they were just place holders until we got married, that a man had needs. You’d think I’d have slapped him and told him to stick it where the sun don’t shine. But he was so damn smooth, he made it almost seem logical. Plus, I didn’t want to let my family down. They loved Jackson, and for the first time in a long time my mother actually seemed proud of me.”
“What made you change your mind?”
“One of his mistresses had a pregnancy scare, and I realized how much I was compromising my beliefs and myself. I broke it off, accepted this job in Austin, and never looked back.”
“You did the right thing, pet. No man should ever disrespect the woman they claim to love that way.”
“I know that now, yet at the time it was hard to digest.”
“Next time he calls, let me speak with him.”
“I—”
“I promised to take care of you. That means ridding you of pests from your past, if need be. I won’t stand for anyone making you feel uncomfortable or harassed.”
She ducked her head, and he grabbed her chin.
“You are mine to care for, do you understand me?”
“Yes, Professor.”
“Good. I want you to come to me
with any issues you have, Sutton.”
She nodded as she squirmed on his lap.
“You’re uncomfortable.”
“It’s disconcerting baring my soul to you. I feel exposed and vulnerable.”
“That way lies the path to true freedom. You’re beginning to give yourself over to me. Do you trust me to make the proper decisions?”
“Yes, but it’s not… easy to make the transition.”
“I know, but you’re doing quite well.”
“You’re pleased with me.”
“Yes, I’m very proud to be your Dom. Are you ready to take the next step in your training?”
“I think so.”
“Next time we play then. For now I want to hold you.”
He nuzzled her neck as she relaxed against him once more. Next time he would show her how to please him.
“Sutton?”
“Mhmm?”
“If you want this to work, you can’t lie to me like that again.”
“I understand.”
Chapter Eight
Sutton was sitting at her breakfast nook when shame and confusion hit her like a ton of bricks. Sidney had brought her to tears a few nights ago with his spanking. She loved it. What kind of person enjoyed something like that? For the first time since they’d entered their agreement she found herself questioning her new arrangement. If anyone in her family found out what she was doing they’d have her committed. Good girls did not lie over their boyfriend’s lap while he paddled them until they cried and they came close to orgasm. For a moment there she had hit the plateau of sub space Leigh had mentioned. Nothing had mattered but the pleasurable pain that had taken her away from all the stress and drama of reality.
Even now her panties were moist from the thought of being paddled again. She rubbed her thighs together and nibbled on her bottom lip as her core began to throb with need. Sidney had told her not to orgasm until she saw him again. She thought about disobeying him, but knew he’d be able to tell. The man was like a human lie detector. Besides, Sidney was headed over to her place after work tonight. Sutton had danced around the topic of spending time in her condo, until he told her in a frank manner he wouldn’t be anyone’s secret. Carissa had overnight plans with Michelle, so the timing was perfect.
