“Well,” Brock replied, “like you, I want to rest before we begin to actively carry out Delno’s plan to expand human settlement. For a now, though, I was reminded by my kinsman that I haven’t been to Iondar in a long time. I think I will first travel to Orlean and see if my son would like to accompany me to my homeland.”

“I believe,” Delno responded, “that is a good idea. It will be good for both of you. Also, though I agree that Dragon Riders should be neutral, I believe that having a sense of home gives us a connection to the people of the world. That is a connection that we need to strive to maintain.”

“I can’t argue with that sentiment,” Brock said. “However, it’s getting late, and I must also be off to bed.” He bowed to them both and turned toward the door, motioning for Delno to stay seated, “No need to see me to the door; I’ll make sure it is closed behind me.”

Later, as Delno lay in bed, he reached out to Geneva. “Are you awake, Love?”

“I am awake. What is troubling you, Love?”

“Nothing is troubling me. I just wanted to be with you for a while.”

“I am always with you, Dear One,” she replied. “However, you have had a hard day. You should sleep. I will not leave you. I will never leave you.”

He smiled as he lay in the darkness and thought about that. “Thank you, Geneva. I love you. Good night.”

“I love you too, Delno. Good night.”
