"Lift up, beautiful," he ordered. A slap to her right cheek and she groaned. "I want to watch your tits bounce while I fuck you." He thrust deep again. Deeper than before. "Those clamps look so damn sexy I don't think I ever want to see them off your pretty nipples."

She was so close. The winding in her belly shot fire through her muscles. He thrust deeper and she pressed back. It went like that until all she heard was her moaning, his groaning and the skin-slapping. He dropped on all fours, caging her in.

“Your ass is so tight,” he whispered by her ear and licked the back of her shoulder. The same spot he’d given her the mate bite. “It hugs my cock like a silken kiss.”

“Oh, God.” Her mind muddled. He moved his hand around her hip and fondled her clit. “Bite me...I dare you.”

She couldn’t believe the words came out of her, but she wanted him to do it again. Now that she was fully aware and could remember everything.

“Come for me, gorgeous.” He grazed his teeth over her shoulder. “I want to feel your ass squeezing me tighter. Jerking my cock.”

He tapped her clit and bit down hard. That’s all it took for her to break. Her ass and pussy contracted with the force of her orgasm. He rumbled a groan, his cock driving deep a final time before a deafening growl sounded from him.

“Hell, yes!” he roared, spilling himself in her asshole.

Her body shook. A dual shockwave went through her. She couldn’t think or breathe. All she could do was hold on. Then his teeth were on her again. He bit the back of her shoulder in a sensual nip that dragged her orgasm to new heights. Once the shudders and panting subsided, she couldn’t move.

Jake pulled out of her and turned her in his arms. He pressed his lips over hers in a kiss. The kiss was soft and went against the rough riding he’d just given her. He stared at her for a moment then grinned.

“You really are the hottest woman I’ve ever met.” He pinched the nipple clamp still attached to her and she moaned. “Fuck, and you’re still ready to go again, aren’t you?”

She licked her lips, not even a little embarrassed that she was still hot and wet for him. “It’s your fault. I’ve never been this much of a nympho in my life.”

His eyes glowed with his animal’s power. “Good. You’ll only be this way for me.” He hopped off the bed and headed for the bathroom. “Let me clean you up and we can see what else you have in that drawer.”

Nic woke to the scent of food. Everything felt brand new. Smells were deeper and clearer. She could sense emotions. Last night she’d been so turned on by knowing how badly Jake wanted her. It was highly erotic.

She stretched in bed, her body all kinds of deliciously sore over the number of times they’d been together through the night.

The food smell got closer, until Jake passed through the bedroom door pushing a room service cart brimming with hot plates. The scent of bacon, sausage, baked pastries and fruit made her mouth water.

“If we weren’t married already, this would so get you some brownie points.”

Jake grinned. He looked frickin’ hot in nothing but a pair of boxers. “What did it? The bacon, the coffee or the chocolate and almond croissants?”

She groaned. “You got chocolate and coffee? I might let you seduce me all over again for some of that.”

He chuckled and brought the tray over to the bed. She sat up, tugging the blanket to cover her breasts and pushed her hair back. She was too hungry to worry about how bad it looked and she was pretty sure it was really bad.

She leaned forward to grab the cup of coffee in his hand but he had other ideas. He pulled the cup back and kissed her, the taste of coffee fresh on his lips.

“Mmm,” she moaned. “You taste good.”

His lips brushed her jaw and continued down to her chest, taking small nibbles down to her nipple. “You taste better.”

She reached for the coffee and finally got it out of his hands. “Enough. Either feed me and caffeinate me or you don’t get no loving.”

Jake pouted. Which was damn adorable and funny as hell. She almost choked on the coffee in her mouth. “You mean to tell me you only want me for my coffee?”

She shook her head. “Oh, no, mutt. I want you for you fine ass too.” She winked. “Your abs are lick-worthy.”

His brows shot up as if her words had surprised him. “They are?”

He glanced down at his six pack like he never saw them there.

“Cut it out. You know you’re hot. All those tattoos can drive a woman wild in all kinds of ways. Let’s not forget the sexy ass.”

She giggled at his shocked gasp.

“You think my ass is sexy?” He stood and shook his behind in front of the mirror. She couldn’t stop the chortles watching him shake his ass. He spun to face her. “Are you being serious?”

She nodded and choked on her laughter at his facial expression.

He yanked the cup out of her hand and sniffed. “I don’t know what the hell is in this coffee, but I need to buy it by the gallon.”

“Quit it! You act like I’m acting weird.” She sniffled.

“You...are.” He grinned. “I love it, I normally don’t see you this relaxed.”

She shrugged, bunching the blanket further up under her arms. “I don’t usually wake up with anyone at home so this is different. Besides, growing up with my kind of my mother and step-father was traumatizing enough, but I am feeling very relaxed after last night.”

He handed her a croissant. “What’s wrong with your parents?”

“They’re obsessed with living a life they can’t afford.” She thought back to the episode with Grady Harris. “When I was eighteen, I modeled for a while.”

His gaze roamed her face and neck. “I can see you modeling. You have a perfect ass for it.”

She shook her head at him. “I didn’t model my ass you perv, though it was part of the package. I was a plus-size model. At the time there weren’t that many and I made a lot of money. My dad left me a trust and I decided I wanted to save my modeling money for the future.” She broke a piece off the croissant and stared down at her coffee. “They wanted my money to add to their living expenses. I broke ties, but they knew how to get me to come back.”

  “Letty.”

She nodded, her heart aching with the memories of how badly she’d felt leaving Letty behind. “I didn’t want her to think I abandoned her. She’s my sister. But I couldn’t stay there anymore. I used my money to fund my schooling and eventually kept myself on the east coast. Away from them. She was still a few years younger and loved her friends. Once she went off to college I didn’t worry so much about her because I knew she was being a lot more independent.”

Jake covered her hand with his and brought it up to his mouth. He placed a kiss on the edge of her palm. “Why were they so hard?”

Butterflies fluttered in her stomach. She didn’t know if she liked the feeling of vulnerability he was opening in her heart. “They’re very cold. Unemotional. They don’t do love. They do society. They don’t do hugs or kisses, they do dinners and charitable events.”

She thought back to their previous night together. She’d opened herself sexually one hundred percent for Jake. Nothing was off-limits. But sitting there thinking of that simple kiss he’d given her on her palm and how her stomach had flipped made her worried. Sex was easy. She loved sex with Jake. He was a damn God in bed, but the intimacy was scary.

What was it about him that scared her so much? He was funny and sexy and he was a lot more thoughtful than she’d given him credit for. Still, the panic she felt whenever she thought of falling in love with him didn’t want to go away. It just lay there. A constant reminder that she might never be able to open herself up for that with not just Jake, but any man.

Shit was getting way too emotional and she didn’t need that. “Have you heard from Caleb?”

She bit down on the croissant, the buttery flakiness creating a taste sensation she’d never experienced before. “Oh, my...this is divine.

She met Jake’s gaze, watching his lip curl in a sexy grin. “When you have enhanced senses” —his eyes flashed— “everything is better.”

Well, hot damn! No wonder he smelled better. Like the woods and man and sex. She inhaled deep, filling her lungs with his scent. Her pussy went slick. “You’re right. You smelled good before, but now I could eat you up.”

The golden light of the wolf shone bright in his eyes. “We can play again if you’re in the mood.”

She pushed back the animal wanting another taste of him and focused on their conversation. “What’s going on with Caleb?”

Jake sat back, his gaze intent on her face. “Nate thinks he’s strategizing a way to hit Rocco hard, but because he’s not talking, Aric is ready to call in reinforcements and take over.”

  “That doesn’t sound good.”

“It’s not. So what we’re doing is sending help. Jaxon Gold, the Alpha for Golden Falls is lending us a few of his enforcers. Some type of special ops guys that will go in and help Nate balance things with the rogues.”

Nic swallowed another piece of croissant and frowned. “Will that make Caleb look less of the Alpha?”

“No. He didn’t ask for help. It’s showing up. Aric doesn’t want the fight to continue pushing into our land. If it does, it won’t matter what Caleb wants, we’ll have to take over altogether.”

“Now I have a question for you.” The tone of his voice alerted her she should be wary. So did the flash in his eyes. There was a soft rumble that sounded in his chest. His beast was pissed.

“Why did you come back beaten and bloodied?”

He might appear to be under control, but she saw the signs that he was ready to fight. His voice went from sexy smooth to a low growl. He clenched his jaw and fisted his hands in his lap.

“I was apparently sold off to be the Vegas Alpha’s new play thing by my mother Dina and Letty’s father.”

  “What?” The roar was deafening.

She would have jumped out of her skin with fear if it had come from anyone else. As it was, she was having a hard time sitting in front of him and not fidgeting.

“I didn’t know. They invited us to visit with the sole purpose of handing me off to some guy who had paid their bills. Like this is the middle ages or something.” She shook her head, angry that she hadn’t been able to defend herself better.

  “What’s his name,” he barked.

  “I really don’t think—”

“Tell me,” he growled softly, “or I’ll go down and ask Aric.”

  Fucking hell. “Grady Harris. But—”

Jake gave her a look that shut her up instantly. “There are no buts. He touched my mate. He hurt you. He’ll pay.”

What could she say to that? His kind lived to defend their women and offspring. What type of woman tried to take that away? One who worried about him getting hurt. She opened her mouth but he curled a hand around her neck and brought her face millimeters from his. He wasn’t aggressive or painful in his hold, just looking for her attention.

  “Don’t interfere. I’ll handle him.”

She licked her lips, not liking where this was going. “I don’t want you getting hurt.”

His eyes turned bright again. “I appreciate your concern, but you should have some faith in me. No one hurts you and gets away with it.”

Nic paced the hotel suite, waiting for Barbara to arrive. Ellie and Jordan had gone out to the strip with Shaari and Kel. Nic had called her sister, hoping Letty might have some information on the Vegas Alpha.

“What’s going on?” Barbara asked the moment she entered the room.

“Jake. He’s gone off to find the guy who my parents did business with.” She paced the living room back and forth, a new anxiety chilling her to the bone. How could she just stand by and not do anything. What if he got hurt?

Barbara shook her head. “Stop making those faces. Jake knows what he’s doing.”

A growl built in Nic’s throat. “Stop? He could be hurt, or worse,” she screeched. “He could be killed and I’m supposed to sit by and let it happen?”

Her cell phone rang before Barbara replied.

“Hi, Letty,” she said in a rush. “Do you have any information for me?”

“Nicole, you need to come home.” Her mother’s voice sounded…off. “There’s something wrong with Leticia.”

A sick sensation spread in her stomach. What in the world? “What is it? What’s wrong?”

“You have to hurry. She’s hurt badly and asking for you,” her mother said urgently. “I don’t know what to do.”

The line went dead. There was no chance of asking further questions. She glanced at Barbara.

  “I have to go.”

“I’ll come with you.” She lifted a hand to stop Nic from arguing. “I had a car delivered to the front earlier. I’ll drive. You don’t look like you’re in a position to do any driving.”

There were no cars parked in the driveway, which should have told her something was up. Her body was still adjusting to her senses, so the dread at the pit of her stomach was new. She thought it was the combination of worry and anxiety over Jake and Letty.

“Nic, wait,” Barbara called out as she jumped out of the car to run inside the house.

“I need to know what’s wrong with Letty.” She threw the words over her shoulder and darted through the open door.

“Wait!” Barbara screamed right behind her.

Steely arms grabbed hold of Nic the moment she passed the entryway. She immediately fought against the restraints, but they were a lot stronger than her. She glanced back, only to catch four men hauling Barbara into the house. Barbara’s facial lines had lost the human softness in place for the animalistic side.

  “Let her go!” Nic yelled.

“Now, now, Nicole.” Grady entered the foyer with his hands in his expensive cut suit pant pockets. “You really need to learn to follow direction.”

“I swear to god, I’m going to kill you,” she growled, the voice no longer her own but that of the angry wolf pushing at her skin.

Grady’s eyes flashed bright with his animal. “You are going to learn to behave.”

Her mother appeared out of the side entrance, shaking her head in disgust. “You can’t just do what you’re told, can you? Mr. Harris has kindly helped us out in our time of need and you refuse to even listen.”

Nic growled. Her vision turned a hazy red. Then, all hell broke loose.

The animal inside her burst through from the skin. The shift took her by surprise. She didn’t realize she’d given the wolf the power until her limbs burned and within seconds the rage had increased tenfold.

Loud growls sounded from Nic’s throat. She eyed her prey, who was surrounded by multiple men this time. All of which were his own kind.

“I’m going to love taming down that little wolf.”

The front door broke down. Nic got a quick peek at four very large wolves. She knew the Wolfe family well enough to recognize Jake, Aric and Mason. The fourth, large black wolf must be someone new.

To her right, Barbara had shifted as well. The pretty white shift she’d had on lay in tatters around the white wolf.

“Nic,” Jake spoke in her head through their animal link. “Let me handle this.”

She ignored his command, her wolf feeling more than able to take care of the asshole who hit her.

Grady and his men tore through their clothes, letting their wolves loose in a bevy of growls and snarls. Furniture broke with the number of wolves taking up the massive foyer. Grady’s men pounced.

In a flash, Jake, Mason, Aric and the other wolf was engaged in biting, pushing and shoving against the brown wolves that made up some of the Vegas pack.

Nic pushed forward, eyes locked on the big brown attempting to use the group of men as his cover. Someone bit her hind leg. She jerked around, but Barbara’s white wolf was there, her canines cutting deep into the wolf who had attacked Nic.

  Jake shoved at the
spotted brown and black wolf in front of him. Then he head butted the other guy and bit around his front leg. The sound of breaking bones along with the scent of blood filled the air.

Nic ran, her speed a lot faster in the animal form. Grady was busy growling at his own men when she caught him off guard. She slammed into his side, the pressure hard enough to send them crashing against a wooden table.

Dina screamed, “They’re destroying my furniture!” She turned to her husband in horror. “Do something!”

Nic’s step-father’s pale and ashen face turned a sickly green, his eyes wide and his mouth agape. He ran out of the room, leaving a trail of fear behind. Her mother darted after him.

Grady shoved Nic off him. She broke something but didn’t stop to see what. Glass shattered around her, digging deep into her side. He jumped forward, snarling with his canines displayed. Nic’s wolf swooped to her feet. She lifted on hind legs and swiped her claws across Grady’s muzzle.

He whimpered. Then Jake was there. The chaos around them seemed to slow down as Nic’s focus turned to watching Jake and Grady fight. The beast within pushed her to move, to take control once again.

Grady shoved Jake off him, kicking him hard with his hind legs. Jake slid down and hit an antique grandfather clock. Nic growled and leapt for Grady again. She dug her claws deep into his fur and bit down, holding on tight. Grady smashed into a wall, banging Nic into the side. She ignored the pain shooting up her leg and ribs and locked her jaw, squeezing the bones in her mouth to get Grady to submit.

A pair of claws dug deep into her side. Her lock on Grady loosened. He was about to slip out of her grasp. Nic’s wolf reacted with innate speed. She shoved her right claw into the meaty side of Grady’s wolf. The animal howled. Grady hit a wall and Nic felt one of her rib bones break. Spots danced before her eyes from the agonizing pain. He slammed again and another cracking sounded. Vicious pain attacked her side. It got harder and harder to hold on.

Someone else tried to bite one of her legs. Fiery throbbing took hold of her hind muscle. For a second she was tempted to let go of Grady to tear a new one in whoever was doing it, but then the attacker was suddenly gone. More growls and snarls sounded all around. Nic didn’t care. She refused to let go of her hold on Grady’s neck. He continued to slam her hard against the wall. The pain grew in intensity, but the wolf inside her didn’t budge. She wanted payback.
