Kimberly suddenly hems to draw my attention. The moment I turn to look at her, she seems irritated with me. It finally hits me that this awkwardness is my fault, one that I’m not in any hurry to mend.

Therefore, we continue this farce of a drive in silence. Kim, disappointed by my attitude, turns her attention to her phone. She lowers her head and loses herself in the magic that is technology, playing some offline game since there is no signal in these parts. I try to keep my focus on the road since the blizzard is getting worse by the minute, but my eyes seem to have their own idea of where to turn to.

I sneak a glance through the mirror at Spencer. God, he has changed. His carrot-red hair is perfectly stylized, his green eyes have aged and now fit his stubble. Spencer is a sight for sore eyes, so much I feel guilty for staring at him for so long while Kimberly is sitting next to me.

Through one of my frequent ‘deviations’, Spencer directs his eyes at me. His sudden movement scares me into turning my head away, but a second later, I shyly return the glance. A foxy smile has appeared on his face, the same one he used to have during that time in the past.

My face turns red; before not too long, I raise the sleeves of my shirt. Strangely, it feels hot in here.

“Are you okay, honey?” Kimberly suddenly asks me.

I snap away from my delirium full of the fantasies of old; I blink fast while I smile at her. “Of course, my love. Why do you ask?”

“I don’t know. You haven’t said a thing for a while now. Are you tired? Do you want me to take up the wheel?”

“No, no. Really, I’m fine. Don’t worry. Just, I was too focused on the driving, that’s all. The weather is getting worse. We might have to hurry home after dropping Spencer to his house,” I say.

I feel embarrassed when I pick up a slight tremble of my hands and a weird stirring in my stomach. From all the people living in Montana, it had to be Spencer the one that we stumbled upon. Not only that, but he’s more handsome than ever. He didn’t even put up some weight or anything.

Life has been treating him well.

Our drive continues for another quarter of the hour. It’s getting increasingly hard to see, something that is working in my favor. I have shed away all thoughts of Spencer and focused my mind on the road. Calmed down and carefree, I almost forget his presence at the back of my car.

Kim’s hand rests on mine, relaxed and comfortable. I like her warm presence there; it makes me feel like nothing is strange after all.

That’s it until Spencer starts talking. “We’re getting close. In the next turn left, you’ll be able to see my house,” he says. His voice is clear and easy. Does he enjoy this...this meeting? Does he enjoy seeing me in distress?

“I remember,” I reply to him, sounding more hostile than I intended.

Kim picks up on that. “Jacob! What’s wrong with you?” she finally bursts.

“Nothing! What’s gotten into you? What’s given you the idea that there’s something wrong with me?” I reply to her, equally hostile.

“You’re rude to your friend. Aren’t you glad you saved him? If it weren’t for us, he might have had to spend the night up there,” she continues.

“Of course I’m glad. I’m just worried about the blizzard, Kim. I don’t want to get trapped in a cheap hotel in the town. We’re so close to my house that it would be a pity if we spend the first day of our vacation sleeping in a dirty room and eating fast food. That’s all,” I counter her.

“If that’s the case,” Spencer starts, “why don’t you stay the night in my house and leave in the morning? I wouldn’t mind spending some more time with you guys. I’d love to catch up with you, Jacob,” he says and again touches my shoulder.

I twitch like I’m in pain; he gets the clue and backs away.

“No, we’ll be okay if we leave immediately. We’re not too far away. I used to visit your house on my bike, remember? We’ll manage just fine,” I say, resisting the urge to accept his invitation.

Kimberly has another idea, though. “Are you out of your mind, Jacob? You can barely see the road. It’s getting late and it would be better if we stayed at Spencer’s for the night. Are you sure we won’t be a bother to you?” she turns around to look at him.

“Of course. I’m the one that invited you in the first place, guys. I have plenty of provisions to last all of us a week if needed be. And hot water if you want to have a shower. Come on, Jacob, it’ll be fun. For old time’s sake, man,” he says.

I look at him, a dormant rage hiding behind my eyes. Spencer always wanted to have his way with everyone. The worst thing is that they’re both right. We won’t be able to make it in time to my parent’s home. And I’d rather stay at Spencer’s home than endanger Kimberly’s life for a nonsense.

“Fine. But you’ll allow us to compensate you for any food and drinks we have. This is the least we can do.”

“This is out of the discussion, Jacob. You’re my guests, I won’t allow you to pay for your visit like you’re staying in a hotel. Come on, Jacob. Stop being so tense. We’ll have fun. I promise.”

His last sentence sounds more like a sensual call to his bed than a friendly visit overnight. I don’t know what I’ve gotten myself into, but I have to make sure I set up some boundaries. And I know exactly the thing that would make Spencer uncomfortable.

“And this is your bedroom,” Spencer says after completing our tour of his house.

“You’ve done a great job with this place, Spencer,” Kim says to him, excited about all the different colors and decorations he has put up on the walls. “We’re thinking of renovating our apartment in San Francisco, and I’d love to have your opinion on some things.”

“Sure. Helping others decorate their houses is my favorite hobby. We’ll talk about it later,” he says, heading outside.

“Great. Give us a moment to set up our things and we’ll come down to meet you,” Kim replies to him while closing the door on his way out. She waits a moment to make sure Spencer has drawn away from behind the door before she turns to face me. “He’s very nice.”

“Who?” I ask her. I’m dizzy from all the driving and passive-aggressive flirting with Spencer.

Kim tilts her head to the side. “Okay, speak up now. We’re all alone. Is there something I should know about Spencer? Any tear-jerking secret or a fight over a girl that made you grow apart from each other?”

Of course, there’s something, Kim, but I can’t tell you anything about it because that would mean you have to learn about a part of me that I’m not really comfortable about.

The thought of telling her passes my mind, but instead, I decide to put my plan in motion.

“With whom? Spencer? No, that’s not it. I had a certain kind of appetite for some time now, and Spencer was kind of in the middle,” I say while I get closer to her. Indeed, I craved her delicious body ever since we arrived in Montana.

“Really now? That’s why you’ve been acting strange all this time?”

“What do you think?” I reply to her.

She intends to say something but I stop her with a deep kiss. I push her against the door while our tongues play with each other. Her muffled moans turn me on and I proceed to unbuckle my belt when she stops me.

“Don’t you worry that Spencer might hear us?” she asks me.

“He’s a grown man, Kim. What if he does? I’m sure he’s in his bedroom calling his...girlfriend as we speak. Come on, don’t make me wait any longer. I want you really bad.”

That last sentence breaks away her defenses. Before I know it, I’m sitting on the bed in my tight, black, boxers and Kim is on her knees between my legs, caressing my body with her hands. Her black hair licks her shoulders as she’s kissing the outside of my underwear around my parts as the bulge is starting to stretch.

I lean back while she continues turning me on with her kisses. My dick is almost in pain, fully erect and waiting for Kim’s hot mouth. When she finally pulls down my boxers, it doesn’t ta
ke me long to start moaning at the feeling of moist surrounding the top of my cock.

  “Oh...yes. Yeah....hmm....”

Unintelligible sounds come out of my mouth, trying to make sure Spencer hears us. In the thought of his name, my member stiffens even more and I can’t wait any longer. The desire to fuck my gorgeous wife prevails.

“It’s my turn,” I say to Kim.

She gladly accepts. I help her up the bed and get on my knees. She spreads her legs open to reveal a recently waxed vagina shining from the wetness of her lust. I get closer to her and feel her body react to my hot breath. In mere seconds, my tongue is fooling around with her clitoris before moving ahead to the main dish.

Kim has always been a responsive partner, but the potential of someone eavesdropping our intimate moment must have driven her crazy. She moans loudly, making my ears feel hot and my cock drips the pre-cum.

“Fuck, I want you,” I suddenly say to her.

She doesn’t even reply. With her back tossed behind, Kim nods. It takes us a moment to get to the right position, but soon Kimberly is lying on her back, my body covering hers. I draw back an inch and stare down to aim my dick. I use my hand to straighten the course before I start pushing.

After the first inches are deep inside her, we have both lost contact with the rest of the world. I’m thrusting in and out fast, feeling her tight, hot vagina pulsate around my dick. It's the best sex we’ve had in a while.

  “I’m close,” she suddenly says.

  “Me too,” I mumble.

The rub of the continued thrust makes me unable to control myself. My grunts turn to loud moans, with Kimberly setting up the pace. With one last, deep push, the hot cum rises from my dick and explodes inside her vagina. A second later, Kim stops moving as well, panting from the exertion of our lovemaking.

She doesn’t say a thing; I don’t either. I’m getting ready to lie down next to her when the slight creak of the door in front of me draws my attention. I raise my head to see the fleeting figure of a man rushing away, like the shadow of a murderer running away from the crime scene.

A grin appears on my face. My plan was a success. Spencer now knows for sure that my man-loving days are over.

  Chapter 3

  KIMBERLY

I open my eyes to see Jacob sitting. He’s in his boxers, staring through the single window of the room. The wind is whipping the double glazed panes, spotting them with frozen flakes. Covered with a blanket, the cold doesn’t get through to me, but Jacob does seem to be freezing.

What’s wrong with him? Why doesn’t he lie back in the bed? Or at least get dressed?

I stretch my body and rise to an upright position. My back is leaning against the bed top and I’m having trouble shaking off morning’s dizziness. My movements seem to attract Jacob’s attention. His head tilts to the side before he turns to face me.

“Good morning, honey. How did you sleep?” he says, his voice rough from not having talked for too long.

I suppress another yawn before replying to him. “Morning, darling. I slept like a log. Last night certainly helped,” I say, trying to fit a sensual innuendo in our regular conversation.

Jacob grins but it’s a mirthless smile, one born of necessity and routine. I have never seen Jacob fake a smile before.

“Yeah, it was nice last night,” he says and sighs; something seems to be troubling him.

“Are you okay, honey? You seem a bit...haggard.”

My comment seems like it does the job; he snaps away from his thoughts with a shake of his head. “You’re right, honey. I feel a bit down. I was hoping the blizzard would have cleared up today, but there has been no change in the weather. On the contrary, it seems like it’s worse than last night. We might have to stay here another night,” he says.

“So? That’s a good thing, right? You get more time with your friend and I get more time away from your mother’s infamous chicken nuggets. I mean, the woman has to go down on the deep fried food at some time,” I continue.

Suddenly, Jacob gets upset. “Why do you say that? I wasn’t planning to spend my holidays with Spencer from fucking high school. He’s like a stranger to me, Kim. It has been years since we last talked to each other. I don’t know what to say to him.”

“Spencer! Keep it down. He might hear us,” I mutter as I try to calm him down.

“I don’t care! It's not like he can do something about it. We’re in the middle of a fucking blizzard, damn it. We’re trapped here until God shows mercy to us,” he continues his inexplicable rant.

I sigh and get closer to him. I cross my hands around his shoulders and kiss the back of his neck. When my body aligns with his, I jump back from the shock. “God, Jacob! Put some clothes on. You’re freaking cold.”

Instead of listening to me, he turns his head toward the windows again. I have no idea why he’s in such a bad mood, but I won’t waste my time trying to figure it out.

We spend some time in an awkward silence before I decide to make one last try to get him talking about his relationship with Spencer. “Jacob, I know you probably don’t want to discuss this right now, but something seems to have gotten into your head. Would you like to discuss it with me?”

Instead of pushing me away, my words seem to put a crack in his silver armor of denial. This time, he bends his leg and half-turns his body to face me. Maybe he’s ready to open up to me.

“I...er...I’m sorry, sweetheart. I don’t know what’s gotten into me, but I don’t feel all too well about us staying here with Spencer. Our friendship ended in a bizarre way and I guess I don’t feel comfortable feeling obliged to him for helping us. That’s all,” he says.

Hearing him come to a realization kind of calms me down. I don’t know if I would have endured another night of weird stares and awkward silences. I never thought there was a person in the world that Jacob doesn’t like, but Spencer seems to fill the bill.

“I didn’t know, but still, he has been kind enough to let us stay as long as we have to. Maybe you don’t like him, but if it wasn’t for him, we would have risked our lives to make it to your house. Also, it’s only one more day. Let me handle the pleasantries and you can spend some time relaxing by watching TV or something. Okay?”

He nods at me before giving me a broad grin. “You give me a hard on every time you rationalize the shit out of a situation,” he says and pushes his naked, cold body on mine.

Our lips touch and we share a deep kiss. His hands caress my back, trailing my spine all the way down to my ass. His skin, a mixture of a cold and familiar feeling, grips the flesh of my buttock. I like the coolness of his hand, his searching fingers. I moan the moment he bites my lower lip, getting ready for last night’s repeat when somebody knocks on our door.

Jacob’s hand jolts away from my butt. He groans before answering the knock. “Yes? What is it?”

I pinch his arm and whisper: “You sound too hostile. Tone it down a bit.”

Spencer’s voice comes from behind the closed door. “Breakfast is ready,” he says vigorously. “Also, your mother has called, Jacob. She said to call her back as soon as you’re awake,” he says and leaves.

Jacob’s muscles tense and he breathes out; he doesn’t like being interrupted in the middle of something so important. On the other side, though, his hard on is still raging. Maybe if I...

“Stop it, Kim. I’m not in the mood right now,” he says.

I pull my hand away from his crotch and return to my side of the bed. “Look, I don’t know what’s going on between you two, but you have to deal with it, Jacob. Spencer sounds like a great guy, so the real problem of this relationship seems to be you. Now, I’m going to get dressed and have my breakfast. You can stay here, in your underwear, and glare at the windows for the rest of the day. I’ve had enough,” I say. His behavior really makes me annoyed by now.

I put on a sweater and a pair of sweatpants before heading downstairs. As I close the door behind me, I hear the heavy sound of steps inside the room.
It seems that Jacob finally got on his feet; he’ll soon join us in the living room.

“As I’ve said before, Spencer, your house is amazing. I mean, when did you find the time to do all these by yourself?” I say, giggling with him over a cup of hot chocolate.

“Well, when you’re passionate about something, time isn’t so important. I had to stay up late some nights and wake up early some mornings, but it didn’t take me as much time as most people think. A couple weeks later, when everything was over, I was finally able to rest and enjoy the beauty of my work to its fullest,” he says, crossing his legs on the sofa.

“Amazing,” I say, gawping at his house. “It’s like one of those home decor magazines’ covers. I can’t believe you’ve done everything by yourself,” I say for the hundredth time.
