Tina says: Your mother is now irritated at me for telling you that.

Aggie says: I think Luke is done in the bathroom. My turn.

Aggie says: Just so everyone knows, I’m very happy. God is good to us.

  Aggie says: Nighters

Tina says: *Poofs* from all the Stuart-Milliken-Warden-Markensons!

Luke read the conversation while Aggie brushed her teeth, calling to her with a hint of amazement in his voice, “We have a good life already, don’t we?”

  “Yep.”

  “Ready for the future?”

Aggie leaned around the doorframe, toothbrush scrubbing away, and gave him a silly expression. “Are you trying to weasel out of it already?”

“Nope. I told you; I’m in for keeps.”

  “Then ready or not…”

  Luke grinned. “Here we come!”

  Aggie’s Accidental Snickerdoodles

  Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter at room temperature

  3/4 cup sugar (for a sweeter cookie—William—use 1 cup)

  1 egg

  1/2 cup sour cream

  1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  ½ tsp almond extract

  1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  1 teaspoon cream of tartar

  1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon

  1/4 teaspoon salt

2 cups flour (do not accidentally use self-rising!)

  Cinnamon & Sugar Mixture:

  1 tsp cinnamon

  1/8 cup sugar

  Directions:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Line baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cream the butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy. If you have a stand mixer, you can just put them in, turn it on low and leave it alone while you mix the dry ingredients. Add egg, sour cream, almond, and vanilla. Continue mixing.

In another bowl, stir together the baking soda, baking powder, cream of tartar, cinnamon, salt, and flour. Slowly combine bowls mixing well. The mixture will be sticky. Don’t panic.

In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon, stirring thoroughly. Form balls (1-2”). You’ll need a bit of flour on your hands OR pop the dough in the fridge for 20 minutes or so. Coat each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place on cookie sheet an inch or so apart.

Bake for 10 minutes or until are golden on the bottom.
