Forever Trilogy 3: Angel Eyes

“I know who you are,” he said.
I smiled and asked, “Who am I?”
“You’re an angel,” he said.
“That is very sweet of you to say,” I replied.
“No, I mean it. I’ve known for a while now. See, I can remember you stopping by to check on my leg when I fell out of that tree when I was five. To this day I know it broken ‘til you asked to have a look. And when my mom was on her deathbed and I was away at school, she told me that there was grey eyed girl who promised her that she would live long enough to see me one last time. When Taylor got the jitters and threatened to call off the wedding, she told me about running into a girl with grey eyes who told her to follow her heart. When I had given up on living, imagine my surprise when a grey eyed girl stops by and fills my life with laughter again. It’s you. It’s always been you.”
A pain caused him to shout and I rushed over and took his hand. He looked up to me with teary eyes and said, “Thank you.” And then he was gone.
I pressed my lips to his forehead. “I love you Darren.”
I sat a bus stop for six hours, trying to figure out what to do next. That loneliness Leia described was creeping back into my heart and it terrified me.
A horn sounded and I looked up just in time to the bus fly through my stop. By chance, I caught a glimpse of the girl in the very last seat. She looked a lot like London, and she had winked at me.
Just as I was ready to dismiss it, I heard a voice that stopped my heart.
“I promised you that I would always find you, didn’t I?”
I turned around and Tristan smiled at me. There was light behind those bright green eyes.
“I know you loved him,” he said, “but I love you. I won’t let you spend forever alone. Take my hand and we’ll have Neverland forever, Ana.”
“Forever?” I asked.
“Forever,” he said.
I reached up, and I took his hand.
