“Are you disappointed?” she asks, her voice softer and now her face is full of worry. “Jacob!” she gasps as I pick her up and carry her down the hall.
“Quiet, Care Bear. Don’t wake Hawk. Speaking of that, where’s Jazz?”
“Bull and Skye’s…” she answers.
“Now that, I like the sound of,” I grin and then I throw her on the bed. I stand there as she bounces. She squeals and then caps her hand over her mouth when she catches herself. She turns over on her side to face me.
“You’re okay then? You’re not upset?” she asks, clearly worried.
“Care Bear, I love when you’re pregnant. I love everything about it,” I tell her honestly.
“Oh…” she whispers and it’s clear she’s upset.
“But—” I tell her before she can let that hurt settle. “I love when you’re not pregnant.”
“You wanted another child, Jacob,” she whispers.
“I want you happy. We have two beautiful children. That’s more than I thought I would ever have in life,” I tell her, getting on the bed with her and pulling her into my arms.
“You’re serious?”
I slide my hand against the side of her neck, tunneling through her curtain of hair. I stroke the side of her face with my thumb and hold her still so she can look at me—really look at me—and see the truth.
“Carrie, I would love more kids with you—”
“I know. It’s just—”
“But if we don’t have any more kids, that’s fine too. It means it will be more of the two of us, and Care Bear that will never be a bad thing. I love—fucking love—every moment I get alone with you.”
She caps her hand over mine, her gaze full of love as she looks at me.
“How did I ever get so lucky to have you?”
“I put you through fucking hell. I’m the one that’s lucky that you didn’t scrape me off the bottom of your shoe,” I tell her, giving her the God’s honest truth.
“I fell in love with you when I was five years old, Jacob. I was yours then and I’m yours now. Being without you was never an option.”
“Thank fuck. You going to quit worrying now?”
“Are you going to shut up and make love to me before Hawk wakes up?” she asks with a saucy little smile.
“Definitely,” I respond.
“Then, yes Jacob, I’m going to quit worrying.
“Love you, Care Bear,” I whisper against her lips.
“I love you,” she says and I swallow the words in my mouth, drinking from her lips and losing myself in the feel, taste and touch of Carrie. She saved me years ago, and every taste of her that I get brings me peace that I can’t even describe.
She’s my world.
She always will be.

I hope you enjoyed the boxed set and a glimpse back at the Savage MC gang.
These were my first books and Dragon and Nicole and the others will always be the ones dearest to my heart. Someday, eventually—after I finish the Tennessee Chapter and maybe Keys from the Blaze lol—I’ll work on the kids. They’re not talking loudly and I’ve never been one to push a story.
