Yes, Mr. Mitchell: (Mr. Mitchell Book One)

“Thanks for the fuck. Have a good night, Garren.”
“Garren?” the small brunette gasped while I walked past them, not taking a second to look back.
When I finally found Lexi on the dance floor, I now knew what Garren and I had looked like.
Lexi and her new man were practically dry-humping out on the floor. I decided I would just call a cab and pay the ridiculous amount of money to get back home. I needed to get the hell out of this club.
I finally made my way over to Lex and told her my plan.
“No way. That’s going to be way too expensive. Jax said we could crash at his place. He lives just a few blocks down.”
I looked over at Jax and wasn’t sure I wanted to take that chance. I also didn’t feel like riding in a cab for the next hour, or leaving one of my friends alone with some stranger. “Okay, let’s go.”
“Babe, you just got here. Relax a little and have some fun.” I gave Jax one hell of a stink-eye and almost bitch-slapped him before Lexi intervened.
“Let’s get out of here,” she said with an eyebrow wiggle. I didn’t know about her, but I didn’t feel like staying at a random guy’s place. I grabbed her arm, saying I needed to use the restroom.
“Nicole, what the hell has gotten into you?” Lexi said, but I dragged her off the dance floor and to the dimly lit hallway, the one I had just left while watching Garren walk off with his fucking date. The nerve.
“Lexi, I had sex.”
Lexi stopped mid-step and spun around so fast that I thought she was going to knock us both over. “What the fuck did you just say?”
I rolled my eyes and pulled her farther into a corner. “I said, I had sex. With that guy I was dancing with.”
Lexi turned her head and started to look around. “What? When? Damn, girl, you work fast!”
“Shh, geez! Just listen, okay?” I earned a quick head nod and continued. “It was actually pretty amazing. Messy, but amazing, until his date found us.”
“Oh, shit. No, really?”
I covered my face with my hands and started to laugh at my new situation. “I kept my virginity all these years. Held it so sacred, and bam! I give it up to some stranger in a club. God, I’ve only been in college like a week and I’m a mess.”
“Well, technically you’re not in college yet.”
I pulled my hands down and glared at Lexi. “Okay, what I mean is, it’s fine. My God, so what? It’s over with, and now you won’t be so uptight about sex. You said it was good, right? Usually the first time is awful.”
I sighed and pulled her toward our coats and bags. “Can we please just leave?”
Lexi wrapped her arm around my waist and gave me a sympathetic smile. “Of course. Jax seems like kind of a tool anyway. A tool with a big bulge in his pants, but nonetheless, a tool.”
“Thanks, Lex. I owe you.”
We took a cab back to campus, split the astronomically high bill, and told Mike not to worry about giving us a ride home tomorrow. I still couldn’t believe I wasn’t a virgin anymore, and even more, I couldn’t believe that I lost it to someone who didn’t even tell me their last name.
Chapter Five
Garren
Waking up this morning had me realizing that I was fucking out of my mind. I was about to make a huge life change and something I’d never imagined doing in my entire life. Teaching. I ran my hand through my hair for the hundredth time and figured it was now or never.
I was a very confident man in life, and I always knew exactly what my life plan was. When I received a call from my old professor, who now happened to be the Dean at the University of Columbus, I couldn’t help but be intrigued at his offer of teaching a few Intro to Journalism classes. I loved writing, especially hot topics that made an impact on our world, and it had been a while since I saw that ambition that young students had. Granted, I was only a few months away from my thirtieth birthday, but I had seen a lot in the crazy world of writing. I had a little downtime after my latest novel, and I felt the need to give back to a school that was a huge part of my background.
I took one more deep breath and finally felt ready to meet my first class.
Stepping through the door into the lecture hall was probably close to how professional athletes feel when entering their arena.
This was definitely a new experience for me, but I was also charged with adrenaline, and I couldn’t wait to get started. I was shocked to hear that I had just over one hundred students in my first hour, but I was also pumped to get this going.
I cleared my throat and gained the attention of the entire classroom. “Good morning, class. I’m Mr. Mitchell, your journalism teacher for the next four months. Here you’ll find your syllabus and weekly expectations. You’ll also find my contact information at the top of the first page stapled to your packet. Don’t hesitate to get a hold of me anytime with questions. I want us to have an open communication in here.” I stopped and handed a stack of papers to a brunette who was sitting in the front row. I could tell that she wasn’t expecting to see a young professor standing in front of her, and the dilation of her pupils told me she liked what she saw.
I couldn’t help but remember what the head of our department told me.
“Mitchell, you’re a young, good-looking guy. Don’t get mixed up with these young girls. It will ruin your career.”
I just chuckled. I knew when to keep my dick in my pants. That was a huge rule of mine: never get involved when it came to work. Fuck me, has that been a hard rule to follow.
I walked back over to my podium and ran my finger over the pad on my laptop, illuminating the large screen behind me. If there was one thing about me, I was a planner and always had my shit together. I was about to show these kids what journalism was all about.
“Okay, guys. Let’s jump right in. Who in here can tell me what journalism is?”
I scanned the room and noticed hands popping up all around, but I found my guy in the front row, directly in line with me. He looked perfect.
“You, blue shirt.”
I motioned for him to head over my way, and I handed up a small microphone so the students in the back were able to hear.
“Um, yeah. It’s the communication or relaying of events?”
I shook my head and knew the first dipshit I called on would have an answer just like that one. In fact, I was banking on it.
I clicked the first slide over, and it had a very similar quote in a huge bubble with a bright red X slashed through the middle.
“No, that’s absolutely wrong.” I heard a few mumbles and watched blue shirt sit back down in his seat.
“Anyone else?”
The room was dead quiet, and I was losing them. “I’ll give five extra credit points to the next person who gives me the answer I’m looking for. You all want to be journalists? Well, you better know what in the hell you’re doing here.”
I could hear some commotion and a few people raised their hand, but then quickly brought them back down.
Finally, a blonde in the front raised her hand high, and I almost thought my heart was going to leap out of my fucking chest.
It was her.
Simone, my virgin from the other night.
Her. In my class. My student. Shit.
I quickly composed myself and motioned for her to come down and get the mike from the ding dong in the front.
I also watched her closely. Did she recognize me? Maybe she didn’t have a clue who I was. What the hell was I going to do? Simone was in my class. I tried to think back on my class list, and I knew I would have noticed the name Simone. Fuck me.
Looking at Simone’s body brought back all the vivid memories of our romp in the nightclub. Her virgin blood staining my dick. I felt the bulge in my pants and knew I needed to think about something else.
Simone reached over and grabbed the mike while clearing her throat. “Journalism is not just relaying information. It’s about putting ideas and comments into a form that is different from the context in w
hich it was originally presented. It’s about what you select and how you present it. Above all, perhaps, it’s about the validity or truthfulness of your actions as a reporter.”
The lecture hall was dead silent, waiting for my reaction, I presumed.
I had a sudden hunch that my Simone from the other night really wasn’t a Simone. I needed to know her name.
“What’s your name?”
I noticed her eyebrows lift, and I also knew that I’d given myself away. She knew that I knew who she was.
“Nicole, um, Nikki.”
“Thank you, Nicole.” As much as I loved how her name rolled off my lips, I didn’t need to send off red sirens on the first day of class. “That was the exact response I was hoping for. You may have a seat.”
Watching Nicole return to her seat had me thinking that I really must have pissed off the sex gods. I knew she was placed in my class just to fuck with me. Someone up there has an amazingly poor sense of humor.
However, Simone—Nicole—, from my memory was a different girl than the one sitting in my classroom. That didn’t mean my dick didn’t remember her. He made sure not to let me forgot a damn thing about her. I’d tried to jack off almost every night, but for some reason it wasn’t doing it for me. Nicole’s tight, virgin pussy had been the only thing on both of our minds. Now she was sitting just a few feet away from me, and I couldn’t do a damn thing about it.
I had five rules when it came to women:
1. I never date. Ever.
2. Never learn past information; don’t get attached.
3. DO NOT share any personal information.
4. No gifts.
5. If any girl makes me feel like breaking rules 1–4, rid them from my life.
Now, some of my close friends had given me shit, especially because the majority are married, and their spouses are hell-bent on setting me up with their ‘amazing’ friends. Fuck that. I’ve tried. I dated women before my rules, and I realized they were the worst years of my life. Sex, that’s what I liked, and that’s what I was good at.
Thinking about our night together in the nightclub had me hard again. I should have known better, but what virgin gives it up to a random stranger in a supply room? Then I remembered how we parted. My fucking ‘date.’ If you could call her that. I let her go the minute she found Nicole and me outside the door to the supply room. I really wanted to go back and find Nicole, but that thought started to break rule number five.
I decided right then and there that Nicole, or my Simone, was in my past. Nicole was a different girl, and also my student. As much as I wanted to look at her perfect pink cunt again, to just give it the little taste that I missed out on earlier, I couldn’t, and I had to live with that.
I don’t know how, but I managed to finish the rest of the hour without even looking in Nicole’s direction. I didn’t, however, have enough control to let her leave. We had unfinished business, after all.
Chapter Six
Nicole
My decision to lay low was blown when my studious instincts took over. I’m a smart girl, but sometimes I can be downright stupid. I don’t know what I thought I was going to accomplish by standing in front of the entire class, putting myself on display for Garren. Maybe a small part of me wanted to make sure he noticed it was me sitting in his classroom, and I knew I made an impression by his reaction when I answered his question correctly. I also could tell the moment he laid his eyes on me that he knew I was his Simone from the other night. He knew who I was. I truly believed that I would never see Garren again, and lo and behold he’s my freaking college professor? I felt like I was in some cliché romance novel. Only, I couldn’t let him know that our night together affected me. It was in the past, and that’s where it was going to stay.
“Nicole, I need to speak to you. Can you stay for a minute after class?”
I glanced over at Chad, apparently my new friend, and shrugged my shoulders. I didn’t want to give myself away and reveal that sparks were fluttering around my insides. Chad shrugged back at me and lifted his eyebrows.
I didn’t want to make eye contact as I walked back toward Garren, my journalism professor, who’d recently seen my vagina. My virgin vagina. Shit, I had to go down to the admissions office and drop this class after we were done talking. That was the only sensible thing to do, but I needed this class. This was exactly what I was pursuing as a career. Shit.
“What’s going on in that pretty head of yours?”
Chad, crap. I didn’t know what else to say, so I lied. “I’m just thinking about our class. It seems like Mr. Mitchell might be a real hard ass. I’m nervous it’s going to be an extremely tough class this semester. I was banking that it was going to be easy.”
Chad bumped my shoulder with his and gave me a million-dollar smile. He really was very good looking in a college boy sort of way. If only I’d met him a few weeks ago, I might not be in my current predicament. “Well, like I said, you made one hell of an impression. I doubt he forgets you.”
That was exactly what I didn’t want. I wondered how he felt when he noticed I was his virgin from the other night. Was I just some inexperienced little girl to him, or did he fantasize about our time together? I’d hoped he’d forgotten about it and we both could move on. That’s what I wanted, what I needed.
“Thanks, I hope so. I really want to be a journalist, and I need this class.”
Chad pulled out his schedule and glanced back over in my direction. “Okay, so this is really going to seem creepy, but I swear I’m not doing this on purpose.”
I laughed and pulled out my own schedule. “Don’t tell me you have Personal Finance with Newman!”
“Guilty.” He held up his paper to me again, and I couldn’t help it when a huge laugh escaped my mouth. It felt so good to let loose and be around this guy. Screw Mr. Mitchell, I was a college student and I was going to be a damn good one. I got what I wanted out of him, but it was time to move on.
“Meet you outside and we’ll walk to class together?” I nodded and grabbed my things to talk to my new journalism professor.
Chapter Seven
Garren
“Nicole, huh?” I asked in a very quiet, hushed voice.
Nicole peered over her shoulder, watching the last student slip through the door at the very top of the auditorium.
When she turned back around to face me, I noticed those big ice blue eyes that have been taking over my dreams. “Yeah, about that.”
The blush that rose in her cheeks made me want to take her over my knee right then and there for lying to me. For not telling me she had a virgin cunt and for lying to me about her age.
“You mean Simone?”
Nicole shifted from foot to foot and switched her book bag from her left arm to her right. “Look, I’m really sorry I wasn’t upfront about everything. I was just looking for a good time the other night, and you gave me that. I swear I had no idea you were my professor. How was I supposed to know this would happen?”
I could hear the plea in her voice, but I also could feel my cock twitch at the memory of sinking him into her untouched pussy. There was something wrong with me. I knew I needed to be the adult in this situation, but there was something about that girl that had my attention. One more night with her would do it. One more night to do it right, to take what was mine the right way.
“We need to figure this out, but not here. Not now. Write your phone number down on this paper and I’ll text you my address. We need to talk in private.”
Nicole looked down at the pen I was holding and then over to the crisp white paper that was lying on top of my student list.
“Okay.”
I could tell she didn’t think this was the best idea, but I also knew she agreed with me. This wasn’t over, and we were going to get everything squared away. One way or another.
* * *
“Shit, fuck, shit!” I couldn’t help it and threw my notebook across my office, already seeing an end to my new career. Even though it was
technically a short career to begin with, I really wanted to help my old professor, Dean Carl Benton, out. I wanted him to be able to count on me and not fuck up the first fucking day of school. Fuck, what was I thinking?
Sitting down at my desk didn’t help anything. I flipped the torn corner that had Nicole’s number scribbled on it in beautiful writing. I didn’t know if I’d really be able to text her, but one thing was for certain, I didn’t need her telling her friends that she’d fucked the new, young journalism professor. Would she do that? I had no fucking idea. Hell, I didn’t know one thing about her, only that she was a virgin a few days ago.
Nicole was the only thing on my mind, which made it hard to concentrate. Shit, she was so young. Eighteen at least, but young. A freshman, and I was almost ten years her senior. Fuck me.
I peered over at my clock and knew my TA would be entering my office at any minute. I didn’t mention to the class that I’d already let Dean Benton do the choosing for me since I was a new professor. Being late wasn’t a great way to start your first day, and as the minutes ticked by, I became more and more agitated. Just as I was about to lift my phone to call down and see if there had been a mistake, it rang just as my fingertips grazed the sleek black base.
“This is Professor Mitchell.”
“Yeah, Garren. It’s Carl. I just wanted to let you know that Jennifer, your TA, isn’t going to make it today, or ever. I just got word that she had a family emergency and dropped her classes this semester. It’s a shame because she was one hell of a smart young lady.”
I ran my hand down my face and leaned back in my chair. I didn’t necessarily need a TA at that very moment, but I was going to need one here in the next week or so. “Okay, what do you want me to do?”
“I’ll leave it up to you. You’re a good judge of character. Just pick a student that you think will excel and call it a day.”
“Really? I’m teaching mostly freshman classes. Isn’t that unusual to have a freshman as TA?” A harsh cough let me know that I was not making this easy on him. “I’ll find one.”
