“I need to leave,” he says abruptly, walking over to me. “I can’t have O’Donnell getting suspicious.”

“Oh,” I murmur, and I can’t hide my disappointed.

Cupping my face, he kisses me softly. Way too tenderly for a man like him. Even in my drug induced state when we first met, I knew Silas was the dangerous type. He has a darkness within him that calls to my own.

“As much as I would love to stay here and fuck you till the sun comes up, I’m not free yet,” he says. “O’Donnell still has a hold on me, and he will send people after me if I don’t check in. I have to at least pretend that I’m still looking for you and your brother.”

I get it. He’s not free. He has a job to do, but it still hurts to see him go.

“Stay here with us,” I beg, hating the weakness in my voice. “O’Donnell won’t be able to find you here.”

“It’s not that simple, love. As much as I want to, I can’t,” he says, pleading with me to understand.

“What does O’Donnell have on you? What makes you stay?”

I hate how pitiful I sound. I’ve never been the type to beg for anything. That action seemed way too vulnerable for the old me, but each day I’m away from O’Donnell’s influence, I notice that I’m slowly changing.

“Something I can’t give up,” he whispers. Trailing his fingers softly down my cheek, he then grabs my chin in a firm grip and kisses me harshly, with as much passion as he can muster before he turns towards the door.

Right before he steps into the hall I ask, “Will you ever tell me your story?”

“One day,” he answers without pausing.

  Cody

“I’ve contacted the Daniel twins, Hunter informs me, taking a seat in front of me. They will be here first thing in the morning.”

“Did they say anything?” I ask, curious.

“No. I’m guessing they didn’t want to disclose anything over the phone and plan to wait until they get here,” Hunter answers, shrugging. “Besides, you should be more worried about what will happen when they get here.”

“What do you mean, mate?” I ask with a quirk of my brow. I already know what the wanker is getting at, I just want to hear him say it outloud.

“Don’t play dumb with me, prince. How do you intend to explain that you’ve been fucking their daughter, and we’re her soul bound mates?”

Funny how now the wolf wants to admit we’re Remy’s mates after keeping it secret for so long. Lying to everyone about it including me. Sometimes I wish that he couldn’t lie either.

“Who says we need to explain anything? We’re her mates. End of story,” I state, not seeing the same problem that he does.

“I don’t think they will see it that way,” Hunter continues.

“I don’t care how they see it, and I’m sure Remy won’t care either,” I tell him, getting up. I’m done with this conversation. The Daniel twins may be Remy’s fathers, and I will respect the role they play in her life, but they can think again if they believe they can keep me away from her. I would rather cut my heart out than leave her.

“Your funeral,” Hunter mutters under his breath as I walk away.

  Remy

“Remy, Remy, Remy, and me,” Maddie sings. “Remy, Remy, what do you see?” .

We both lie naked on my bed. Today I turned seventeen. My brother and I went out earlier and celebrated, but now I just want a quiet evening alone with Maddie.

”I see nothing but death and destruction. I don’t know who I am anymore,” I admit, turning my body towards him and staring into his amber orange eyes. I don’t know what it is about Maddie, but I could always be honest with him and know he would understand.

“There's beauty in death,” Maddie whispers, biting my bottom lip.

“If you weren’t an assassin, what would you have done with your life?” I ask.

“That’s what I love about you, little bird,” Maddie says flicking my nose. “You still dream. You still wonder. It’s fucking beautiful and tragic all at the same time. Tragically beautiful,” he mused to himself before growing serious. “I don’t dream. I don’t wonder. I leave those things to you, little bird. It’s a special gift. Too special for the likes of me,” he says kissing a trail down my neck.

I moan loudly and feel the wetness grow between my thighs. Maddie takes that as encouragement and settles his body over mine, entering me slowly. I moan again as he sinks deeper inside me.

“I think your moans are my new favorite sound,” Maddie groans and starts to fuck me harder. “That's it, little bird, sing for me,” he growls.

His movements grow more determined. His muscles bulge from the strain of holding his body over mine. His sweat drips from his brow onto me, and I feel like I’m in heaven. Moaning louder, I bury my face into his neck and bite down hard, drawing blood. Groaning, Maddie moves his hips faster, pounding into my small body, and I come crying out his name. He follows seconds later with my name on his lips like a prayer.

“I should be jealous watching another man fuck you, but since he’s your mate, I’ll admit I find it rather hot,” Cody comments from the corner of the room.

“You perv. What are you doing in my dream besides getting off while watching me fuck?” I ask crudely.

“You're the one who pulled me here,” he says eyeing the naked body of my dreamself with appreciation. “You tell me.”

“What? How did I do that?”

“Well, you see, princess, when you seal a bond, you also take on some of your mate’s power. It seems you now have my ability to dreamscape,” he explains, confusing me even further.

“Then why are you here in my dream? Shouldn’t we be in yours?” I question.

“Your dreamscaping is undeveloped,” he answers, shrugging his strong, delectable shoulders. He’s shirtless, and I can’t take my eyes off his muscled chest. “On instinct you pulled me in as a guide.”

“Also, I suspect your dreams are trying to tell you something,” he adds, smirking. The cheeky fairy knows exactly how much his body affects me.

I raise my brow. “Like what? All I see is two people fucking.” Maddie is currently holding me like I’m the most precious jewel in the world, staring at me with a softness that’s rare to see on his face.

“Look closely, princess,” Cody whispers in my ear. My heart starts to race, and it’s hell keeping my hands to myself. “Besides fucking, what else happened?”

Taking a step back to think, I watch my dreamself lying in bed with Maddie when I notice a red trail of blood pooling on Maddie’s pillow.

“I bit him,” I murmur, walking over to take a closer look at Maddie’s neck.

“That you did, princess,” Cody says with a smile.

“I’m confused. If I bit him, why don’t I have his marking?”

As I ask this, Maddie sits up and gently moves my sleeping body until I’m lying on my stomach. My eyes widen when I see a huge marking of two scythes crossed on my back. The sharp heads lines up with my shoulder blades, and a pair of beautiful black wings practically cover the entirety of my back.

“Well I’ll be,” Cody murmurs. “He’s a reaper.”

Maddie traces the marking on my back and shadows appear from his hand like smoke. As he moves his hand over me, the marking disappears, and he kisses the middle of my back gently.

“I love you, soulmate,” he says before lying back onto the bed, spooning me, and falling asleep.

The scene starts to change, and I recognize the outline of equipment in O’Donnell’s basement of horrors. On pure instinct I jerk Cody and myself out the dream and into real life, not wanting him to see what I know would play out next. What horrors happened after that magical night with Maddie.

“What was that room we were just in, Remy?” Cody practically growls. I know he’s mad. His normally carefree face is contorted in anger, and he called me by name instead of some quirky nickname.

&n
bsp; I look away. “A place I never wish to see again.”

“I’m going to need more than that, princess,” he says, grinding his teeth.

“I can’t,” my voice breaks, and I take a deep breath to try to calm myself. “I can’t talk about it. Please don’t make me,” I plead, staring into his eyes and letting him see my pain. How can I explain to him the horrors of that night?

I see when he makes a decision, and his face lightens as he pulls me in close to him, hugging me like he never wants to let me go.

“I will not make you tell me, my love, but soon all your secrets will be mine. I will not stand for you keeping things from me. Do you understand?” he declares softly.

I nod my head instead of answering, and he squeezes me tighter.

“Soon, princess, you will trust me, and we will never have this conversation again,” he says, combing my hair with his fingers.

“I want to tell you, I do. It’s just so hard. I don’t want to see the disgust on your face when you hear about all the depraved things that were done to me. The awful things I was forced to endure.”

“I think I have an idea from what I saw of that room, but you should know I could never be disgusted by you. I could never hate you no matter what you’ve done. I love you. I’ve told you all this once before. It’s about time you start believing me,” he murmurs as he rubs my back.

“You could change your mind, or just be saying this to make me feel better about the things I’ve done. Who knows. Maybe later on you’ll want a soulmate who isn’t so dark or fucked up. I’m mental, and you’re a summer fae for fuck sakes. What could you possibly want with me?” I tell him, admitting my fears out loud for the first time.

“Listen carefully, sweetheart, because I hate repeating myself,” he says, tipping my chin up with his finger. “I love you. I will always love you. I don’t care what you’ve done, or what was done to you by that sick fuck of a father figure you had. You are it for me. There will never be a another woman, it’s always been you and always will be. I knew that from the first moment I saw you in that interrogation room when you imitated my accent. I knew then you would be mine forever, and it didn’t have shite to do with our bond.”

I open my mouth to argue, but he gives me a stern look and holds his finger to my lips, shushing me.

“I’m not done yet,” he growls. “You are mine. I will never give you up. Not even if you ask me to. If you try to leave me, I will follow you to the depths of hell to get you back, and you should know that fae can’t lie, so know that I’m telling you the truth.”

“Really?” I ask, gobsmacked. I can’t even wrap my head around the strong feelings he claims he has for me. That he really loves me that much.

“Yes, really. I - love - you - Remy - Daniels,” he says slowly enunciating each word.

“I love you too,” I whisper back to him for the first time.

His response is immediate. I watch as the love he has for me shines in his beautiful azure blue eyes, and he takes me tenderly, intent on proving just how much he loves me.

  Twenty-Three

This shit was already preordained and dropped into my lap

The next morning I wake up to a growling Hunter inches from my face.

“Your dads are here,” he says, like there's nothing wrong with this picture.

Cody groans, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. “What the fuck, mate?”

I sit up and watch in satisfaction as Hunter stares blatantly at my naked breasts when the sheet slides down to reveal them.

Clearing his throat, Hunter says, “Your dads want to see us all downstairs.”

His eyes never leave my body, and my nipples pebble from the cold air, or maybe it’s from his heated stare. I don’t fucking know. Hunter licks his lips, and I’m drawn in by the action. I want to lick those lips, bite them, kiss them, and right now he doesn’t look like he would stop me if I tried.

“Do you want me to leave you two alone?” Cody asks, breaking me from my trance.

“No,” I say quickly. Maybe too quickly. “Tell my dads I’ll be down after I shower.”

I jump up naked from the bed and practically run towards the ensuite bathroom.

“Poor wolf. Downgraded into an errand boy,” I hear Cody teasing Hunter right before I shut the bathroom door.

By the time I make it downstairs my dads are gathered in one of the living areas glaring daggers at the guys. When Rowen sees me in the doorway, he quickly walks over to me. “You might want to stop our dads from killing your mates. They were not too happy to smell your scent all over them, especially the fae since it’s stronger on him.”

“I’m a grown ass woman,” I state. “Who I’m with is none of their business.”

“The fuck it isn’t,” Caleb growls, clearly eavesdropping on me and Row’s conversation. Stupid wolf hearing.

“No - it - isn’t,” I pronounce each word, walking further into the room. Just to prove my point I walk over to where Hunter is sitting on the sectional and plant myself right onto his lap. The look he gives me is priceless. I’m sure if my dads weren’t in the room right now he would toss me onto the floor.

I admit I want to start a little trouble. That is why I chose Hunter to sit on. To his credit, he doesn’t throw me off. Instead he wraps his arms around my waist and gives me a challenging smile. One that says two can play this game.

I give my dads the most innocent look I can muster while sitting in another man’s lap and casually tell them, “Hunter and Cody are both my soulmates.”

“Oi. Are you sure about this, sweetheart?” Conners asks, clearly shocked.

“Yes,” I answer, leaning back into Hunter’s embrace. I can smell his spicy pine scent, and it is making me a little crazy.

“Soul bound mates are rare,” Caleb growls, not looking impressed at all. “How is it you have two of them, duckie?” Caleb growls not at all looking impressed.

“Five of them,” I quip, squirming purposely on Hunter’s lap. I can feel him getting hard, and he groans in my hair.

  “Excuse me?” Caleb says.

“I have five mates. I’ve already found four of them.,” I tell him nonchalantly.

“Bloody hell,” Caleb groans, looking wide eyed at his brother. Conner relaxes his stance and shrugs in acceptance, taking a seat on one of the recliners. I mean, what can they do? This shit was already preordained and dropped into my lap.

“I hope they all know how lucky they are,” Conner says.. “Who are the other two?” Conner asks.

I see the curiosity dancing across his face as he takes in this new development, while Caleb still continues to glare at me and Hunter from his end of the room.

“Silas, a mage, and Hatter, a reaper,” I answer.

“Shite, a reaper, really?” The stoic Caleb repeats, gobsmacked.

“Yes, I found out last night that I have his marking, but it was hidden until now,” I explain, looking towards Cody. He smiles and encourages me to continue.

Slightly turning on Hunter’s lap so that my back faces my dads, I pull my shirt up and show them the markings covering my back. Whatever Maddie did to make them disappear was broken once I had that dream. After my shower this morning I saw the markings on full display in the vanity mirror.

  “Shite,” Caleb mutters.

Pulling my shirt down, I turn back around and address my dads.

“Whatever power you get from him should help you now that you know they exist,” Conners says, breaking the silence.

I feel Hunter’s hands as he moves my shirt up to take a look himself, and I hear his sharp intake of breath once they're uncovered.

“I don’t even know what I can do,” I say. “I’ve only accidentally dreamscaped, and it was in my own dream,” I admit.

“Why are you being so down on yourself, sweetheat? Dreamwalking is a very powerful and rare gift,” Conner assures me in an effort to make me feel better.

“But I don’t know how I did it. I don’t even know how to call on my own wol
f,” I say, looking around the room. I'm treading through new territory. I don't want to admit that I feel like an utter failure.

“That’s why we’re here,” Caleb says. “We can help you. It’s not easy to call on your wolf after it’s been suppressed for so long. But soon, with practice, it will become like second nature to you,” he continues as he takes a seat next to his brother.

“I feel useless. I’m good with fighting, tech, and guns, but all this supernatural shite is all so new to me and well above my head,” I confess.

Sympathy flashes in Row’s eyes, and out of everyone here, I know he’s the closest one who would know how I’m feeling.

Catching onto my thoughts my twin says “I think each of us should help train Remy separately. In a smaller setting it might be easier for her to learn and develop her powers.”

“That sounds like a solid idea, son,” Caleb agrees, rubbing his scruff on his chin and looking proud.

I guess it’s better than him wanting to kill Cody and Hunter. As stoic and unemotional as he seems, at times you can tell he is happy to see Row alive and well. He has been conversing with him over the last two years while they all kept me in the dark. I’m sure the two of them have already started to develop a relationship with each other.

“Right, but first tell us about this brilliant plan of yours,” Conner demands, giving Row his full attention.

As Row explains his plan to our dads, Hunter, who hasn’t removed his hand from under my shirt, decides to use their distraction to his advantage. He starts to trail his fingers lightly up my back along my spine, making me squirm on his lap. When his thumb skims the side of my breast I have to hold back a groan, and I almost lose it all together when his big hand palms my breast. The tips of his fingers brush my nipple, and in response, they harden like diamonds.

“Are you ok over there, sweetheart?” Conners asks. “Your face is flushed.” His questions give me a slight reprieve from Hunter’s attention.
