“Uh huh?”
“Have you ever sung it to Daisy?”
There was a short pause. “Nah.”
“Have you ever sung it to anyone else?”
He seemed to be scanning his memory. “Nah.”
I put a hand on his chest. “Will you do me a favour Quinn, will you keep that as our song, and not sing it to anyone else – ever?”
He covered my hand with his. “Do you want me to sing it to you now?”
I shook my head. “Not right this minute.”
In the dark I could hear a smile in his voice. “So if I ever sing it Ginty, wherever I am and wherever you are, you can be certain I’ll be singing it for you.”
I relaxed and he held me close. “Is that a bargain, Ginty?” He asked.
“Yes, that’s a bargain,” I said contentedly.
