Jordan knows what to do. I just smile and then it hits me. Jordan and I really have matching tattoos, a couple’s tattoo. I let out a giggle and catch Jordan staring at me.

Ace tells us the cost of the tattoo and piercing. I go to get my wallet out of my purse and hear a foot stomp. “Don’t you dare. I’m paying for this and that’s final.” I straighten my back and look at Jordan.

“Why can’t I pay for them? I have the money.” I do, I happen to have a lot of money.

“Call this our six-month dating gift and leave it at that.” I’m literally in shock. Have we been together six months? I do the math in my head and sure enough, Jordan’s right. Mostly I’m shocked that he even knows that.

He pays Ace and we head to the truck. “Just a little note, my mother told me yesterday when she was cutting my hair about how long we’ve been together. Damn her, I’m starting to think she loves you and Amber more than me.” I let out a laugh because I know that’s not true.

“She loves us all. I adore your mom, Jordan.” I tell him with a smile.

“Yeah, I know and she adores you too. She even told me if I fuck this up she plans to kick my ass. However, I told her she’d have to wait in line because I’d kick my own ass.” I let out a giggle and climb into the truck. “Fuck, Cara, I love when you giggle. I really hope you’re happy with today.”

I pause to think about the events of today. I can say that I am happy to a point. “I think I am, but to be certain let’s finish today with pizza and maybe dessert.” Jordan frowns as he looks at me before starting the truck.

“Dessert, are we talking the naughty kind or actual dessert.”

  “Both.”

“Good cause I plan to fuck you sometime tonight.” Good because that’s what I wanted.

After we ate pizza and ice cream for dessert we both cleaned the kitchen. We had already taken the wraps over the tattoo’s off and headed to bed. I was sitting on the bed staring at my tattoo. Jordan had to take a call from Amber. She’s working close with Ryan. So far I have learned their case involves a drug dealer who’s in hiding, but nothing really more than that.

I stare at my tattoo again. We had stopped at the store on the way home and picked up ointment. I’m only to put on a tiny amount. Jordan said we can both use the ointment a few times a day. I just liked to look at my arm right now.

I was wondering if my decision to get the tattoo was a good one. I’ll have this tattoo on my arm for the rest of my life. However, I was still thinking about what Niki had told me. My thoughts on her were not going to go away anytime soon. What if she was right? Is Jordan getting annoyed with my behavior since Travis took me.

I run my fingers lightly over my tattoo and don’t even hear Jordan enter the room.

“Hey pretty girl, a penny for your thoughts.” Jordan asks as he begins to get ready for bed. He’s been able to sleep in his boxers a lot more lately. He believes that because he sleeps better next to me and doesn’t toss and turn all night, he stays clothed. I don’t know because sometimes he wakes up naked.

“Cara Mia?” He says to me from the other side of the room.

“I was just thinking about the tattoo and…Niki.” I sigh because I probably shouldn’t have told him the last part. I drop my eyes down to my tattoo again and touch it. I hear Jordan move next to me.

“Pretty girl, please get whatever it is in your head about Niki out. I can’t stand this.” I slowly bring my eyes up to Jordan and my eyes lock on his tattoo. It’s the first time I’ve actually taken in the full detail of his tattoo and it hits me. I knew our tattoos were similar, but the placement of his tattoo and mine are identical. It looks like my heart was taken out of his.

“Our tattoos, Jordan, they are a perfect match.” I look up at him now and I can’t help the tears that fall.

“Cara Mia, I planned them that way. I knew Ace was good at his job. Please, pretty girl, I can’t handle you crying anymore.” I look into his eyes and smile as I wipe away my tears.

“They’re happy tears, not sad ones.” I stand to my feet and reach up on my tip toes to kiss Jordan. He instantly picks me up as I deepen the kiss. Our tongues dance and I can taste the ice cream from earlier. I happen to like the mix of him and something sweet. “Jordan, love me.”

“I always love you, Cara.” I look up at his eyes.

“That’s not what I mean. I know you love me. I was meaning make love to me.” I watch the smile spread across his face.

“That’s something I will gladly do.” Jordan then reaches his arms around me and grabs the bottom of my shirt and lifts it over my head. I turn to look over my shoulder and Jordan places a few kisses on my neck before sliding my yoga pants down.

He had already taken off his shirt when I turn my now naked body to face him. I reach to pop the button on his pants. Once I’ve done that I slowly move down the zipper to his pants. Jordan takes my hands and stops me from continuing.

“What’s wrong?” I ask looked at him puzzled.

“I want you to get that little ass of yours in the middle of the bed.” I do as he asks and climb up on the bed. I hear Jordan discard his pants. I turn around and position myself in the middle of the bed facing him.

“Are you just going to stare at me or are we fucking?” I know I will pay for cursing, but I’m so horny that I don’t want to wait.

“Just staring at what’s mine. I hope you’re ready for me pretty girl because you’re in for it now.” He climbs up on the bed never taking his eyes off mine. His hands slowly slide up my legs until he reaches my knees. He forces me softly to bend my knees and brings them up towards my chest.

“Jordan?” I attempt to question what his intentions are as he drops his head down and licks up my slit. Before I have a chance to adjust to his method of foreplay he begins his assault on my clit. You would think from the way he goes from licking me to sucking on my clit that he was a starving man.

“Oh,” I moan as Jordan lets out a deep growl from this throat. The vibration tickles a little. As he sucks on my clit I’m becoming more turned on. I think for a second that he’s not done when his hand lands on my thigh, but instantly he stops. I prop myself up as to see what he does and watch as he runs his finger up my slit.

“You seem to be wet enough for me.” Jordan says as he slides right inside me. This time we take things slow. The way he moves inside me just about drives me crazy.

I enjoy the weight of his body on me as he moves slowly. I can feel every inch of him. Jordan lightly kisses my lips and trails kisses down my neck before he reaches behind me. I’m slightly surprised when he sits up, pulling me on his lap. This position is one of my favorites.

I rock my hips, riding him. This goes one for a while until we are both spent. I’m exhausted and don’t even remember passing out. I just know I am extremely happy with my life right now.

  CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

  JORDAN

I wake before Cara. I just lay here watching her sleep. I think this is the first night that she has slept the entire night without a nightmare. Thank God for that she needs to get some real rest. I carefully shift so I don’t wake her and slide out of the bed. I need to get ready for the day.

I’m happy with how things turned out yesterday. I mean I have new ink on my arm. I think the tattoo is pretty wicked if you really look at it. However, I know the guys will rip me a new one when they see it. That won’t fucking bother me at all. I expect nothing less.

I jump in a quick shower and when I’m dressed I notice that Cara is still asleep. I know I need to wake her up, but I think I can do that after I make breakfast. It's only 7am and I can let her sleep in just a little.

I head into the kitchen to make a ham and cheese omelet. I’m smart this time and make coffee. I have to do it just the way she has on this silly note card next to the coffee or she won’t drink it. For some odd reason the coffee cannot be too strong or it upsets Cara’s stomach. I swear the woman drinks sugar as coffee, well not exactly.

  I decide to m
ake one omelet big enough for the both of us. I’m hoping she will eat it with me. I made a couple pieces of toast and by some miracle, I think I mastered her cup of coffee. It only took me making it in the silly Disney Stitch coffee cup to get it right. Coffee should either be black or have a little sugar and cream. I fucking swear it’s a science with her, but I love her and if I can’t get her coffee right then I fail. I’ll turn in my man card for making her sugary coffee.

I walk into the bedroom. I’m quiet when I walk in thinking that she is still asleep, but I’m shocked not to see her in bed. I walk over to the bathroom and see her standing at the counter. She looks ready to workout. I’m a little disappointed.

“Hey, pretty girl. Are you going out for a run?” She turns to look at me with a small smile on her face.

“Yes, but not right now. I want to go back to the gym today. I know you’re going back to the office later so that will give me something to do.”

“Okay, I’m going to take that as a sign you enjoyed your trip the last few days.” I watch her smile get bigger and then she turns her face almost as if she’s shy about it. “Hey talk to me.”

“I did enjoy my trip there and I want to talk more with Sierra today. She told me I was welcome back whenever I wanted to go to the gym. Is that okay?” I don’t know why she is asking me this.

“Cara Mia, as long as you are happy about it then go. You need to do something to keep you busy. Hey, I made breakfast and coffee if you’re hungry.” She walks over to me and gives me a kiss.

“I am, thank you. Let’s go eat.” I follow behind Cara to the breakfast bar. I don’t even know why I have a table in the dining room. We never use it.

  CARA

I’m glad Jordan made breakfast, I’m starving. I sit down and grab the coffee. The color looks right, but that doesn’t matter if it doesn’t taste right. I carefully take a sip I don’t need my stomach to hurt today. I mean the belly piercing hurts. I should have expected that. I take my sip and am surprised he got it perfect.

“Thank you for the coffee,” I smile at Jordan and look around for the second plate. There’s only one between us. I’m confused. “Why is there only one plate?”

“I wasn’t sure if you would eat it.” I let out a laugh and grab a fork. I take a big bite and smile while chewing.

“See I am.” I cover my mouth to speak. I end up eating almost half. I stopped when I felt full. I didn’t want to overeat and make myself sick.

“What are you planning to do at the office today?” I’m not really sure what he’s been doing the last few days.

“I need to check in with your father about the issue with the hospital and make sure nothing is needed from us. I want to read more from Travis’ notebook. I also need to call outside help to deal with the Niki issue.” I can’t look at him when he mentions her name.

“Are you really going to look into the story she told you?” I hate that she claims to need help.

“I have to look into it, but I don’t have to be the person that does it.” I’m grateful for that.

“Okay, well I need to stop at the store before I go over to the gym. I’ll clean up so you can go into the office. Oh, I do have to go to the doctor’s office to just have my blood drawn.” Jordan gives me a kiss, tells me he understands and then leaves. I’m happy once the kitchen is clean and I have finished my coffee.

At the doctor, I just walked in and waited for a little. A nurse called me back and took my blood. I was then all good to go. After I leave I spend a little time at the store and then head over to the gym. I was glad I programmed the address for it into my phone.

When I walked in I noticed Bridgette at the front desk talking with Tyler. I wasn’t sure what was going on there. She took notice of me when Tyler gave me a nod.

“I’ve got things to handle Gidget. Please just think about it this time. Placet mihi crede semel Bridgette, diligeretis utique et me (please believe me, once Bridgette indeed love me).” I instantly look from Bridgette to Tyler. What was that? Tyler leaves us quickly and seems to be mad. I turn my attention to my sister in shock and watch her shake her head.

“What did he just say to you?” I’m not even sure I know that much about Tyler. I have never heard him speak another language before.

“Latin.” She says like it’s nothing new.

“Do you know what he said?” I catch just a glimpse of something before she speaks again.

“No, I don’t. Come on Cara, I have some things I need to show you.” Why do I think she’s lying to me?

“I’ve already seen the entire place before Bridgette.” There is nothing else she needs to show me.

“Not really. You haven’t seen my office.”

  “Your office?”

“Yes, I’m only a paralegal at the law firm when a case needs my attention otherwise I run the gym. I actually own half of it and so does the MC.” Okay, that was information not told to me yesterday.

She walks me to a door that I remember passing yesterday. She unlocks the door and then begins to remove a ring of keys from her chain. Then she turns to me.

“This key opens this door, this one opens the front door and this one here gives you access to the third floor. These are yours to keep.” Wait, why am I getting keys.

“Why do I need these?” I ask in complete shock.

“Because you are my sister and I want you to feel like you’re a part of my life and what I do.” We walk into the office and there are a couple of lockers along the wall. Both are painted pink. Bridgette walks over to the lockers.

“This one here with the blue lock is mine. I take off the lock when I need to use a locker in the women’s room. The other with the purple lock belongs to you. All the items from the other locker are now in here and anything else you might need.”

“Thank you, Bridgette.” I’m not sure what to think about all this, but I don’t let it get to me. “I would like to just workout a little today. I need to be careful.” She gives me a puzzled look and I show her my belly.

“You pierced your belly button, nice and did I see a tattoo.” Oops. I’m not sure how to explain that to anyone yet.

“Yes, I got it yesterday with Jordan.” She lets out a deep laugh.

“It’s cute Cara. As long as it makes you happy then I’m happy for you.” We talk a little bit more and then she tells me there’s some paperwork for her to take care of. I decide to head up to the third floor and run a little.

I have my headphones on and am not paying attention to anything as I run. I like the peaceful distraction. I have no idea how long I was running for when I stop to take a break and a big drink of water. I take a moment to stretch my legs and do some yoga. As I’m dragging a mat to use I catch a glimpse of something out of the corner of my eye. I turn to see what it is and let out a small scream as I jump.

“What are you doing in here?” I say to Justin as he moves closer to me. I’m not sure what I should think of him and I don’t like that he scared me.

“I heard you were up here and wanted to check on you.” Check on me that sounds creepy.

“Well as you can see I’m doing good. I just stopped running and was about to do some yoga.” He steps closer to me and I step back. I’m not liking being alone with him at the moment.

“Not bad. I saw you running. We’ve all been told about what’s going on with you. That you can’t remember all the events of your kidnapping and that we need to be careful around you.” I’m confused, why is everyone talking about me?

“Okay, but as you can see right now I’m fine.” He steps to the side and moves closer to me. I again move away.

“No, you’re not and fine is a bad word. I think in reality that you’re a mess and you’ve built up this imaginary wall and you’re avoiding things.”

  “I’m not avoiding anything.”

“Yes, you are. I’ve been trying to figure that part out. I’m not sure if it’s because you couldn’t save Jordan from being hurt or if you’re avoiding the fact what you
feel you failed yourself.” I stop moving away from him.

“I don’t know where you get the right to just analyze me, but I don’t like it.” He steps right in front of me.

“I have more rights than you think. It’s what I do. You need to break this wall you’ve built up.” I straighten my back. I have not built up a wall. How dare him? Before I can do anything he lightly pushes me.

“What the hell was that for?” I need to get away from him.

“You’re scared of something and you need to break it, that wall you have. Fight me, Cara, show me that your stronger than this problem. Everyone is worried about you and they’re careful around you. Prove to them they don’t have to be.” He then pushes me again.

“Stop pushing me. I don’t like it.” He looks at me and tilts his head to the side and pushes me again, but this time a little harder. I almost fall back and he catches me. I shove him back, but it does nothing. Now I’m mad.

“What are you afraid of Cara?” Excuse me!

“I’m not afraid of anything.” I decide to stand my ground. I just want him to leave.

“Yes, you are. Tell me. Do you think it’s your fault all that happened with Jordan?”

“No,” I say very quietly. Justin moves closer to me and shoves my right shoulder. Now I’m mad. I ball up my fist. I want to hurt him and I hate that feeling. Justin pushes me again and when he steps back I swing at him. He catches my fist in his hand.

“First of Ms. Cara, if your intention is to break my face you would have lost. Good try, but next time,” He holds my fist and uncurls my fingers from around my thumb. He then curls my fingers placing my thumb on the outside. “If you want to hit someone your thumb needs to be outside your fingers or you will break it. Let’s try this again.”
