Uncovering Peace

“Take control, Faith. Take what you need from me.” In that moment, I fall in love with Seth even more. I know he craves control just as much as I do, but yet he’s willing to hand it over to me.

Straddling him I push down on him hard – his hard length stretching me. I hold on to his shoulders for support while I push up and down. Circling my hips I look him into his eyes. They’re filled with lust, desire, and love. Nobody has ever looked at me the way Seth does. Seth’s hands are digging into my hips. His breathing is becoming labored as he gives into the pace I’ve set for us. I’m slowly working us into a frenzy. I know it won’t last much longer. I’m close to the edge and when he starts circling his hips underneath me I fall over crying out his name. I don’t care who hears me. Seth holds me while he pounds into me relentlessly chasing his own release. He calls out my name when the orgasm takes over his body too. I slump into him, completely spent.

I don’t know if we spend minutes or hours embraced in each other. I couldn’t care less. I’m with the man of my dreams. That’s all that matters.

  Chapter 13

  Caige

“Hey guys, I have a gig at Cowboy’s tonight. Their DJ is sick. You want to join? I already talked to Skye and Braden. Michael is going to watch Abby,” I ask as I walk into my living room where Faith and Seth are.

“Hell yes. We haven’t been out in forever. I think a night out is just what we need,” Faith agrees.

“What time do you have to be there? We can just split a cab.” Seth wants to know.

“I have to be there at seven to set up. Club doesn’t open till eight, but I’m sure you can come in with me.”

“Seven? Shit. That’s in five hours. I better get cracking then.” Faith jumps up from the couch. I laugh at her. It takes her forever to get ready. I can only hope she makes it in time.

“Well, should we have a few beers till she’s ready?” Seth laughs.

“If by few you mean a whole case, I’m down. You know it’s gonna take her hours.”

Seth and I sit around playing video games, drinking beer, and talking.

“Have you decided what you are gonna do about your living situation yet? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind you guys staying with me, but we all know it can’t be a permanent situation.” Faith and Seth have been staying with me for almost two months now. She still refuses to go back to her house after the shit that happened with Jordan. I still don’t know what exactly happened because she won’t tell us. I don’t even think Seth knows the whole story. She has opened up to him about everything with her father, but for some reason she’s hiding something about the night with Jordan. I know he hit her pretty hard, but that can’t be the only reason why she won’t go back to her house.

“I have no idea. Every time I try to talk to her about it, she shuts down. She doesn’t want to go back home, which is fine. We can sell the house. I don’t want to pressure her or anything, but I’m ready to be alone with her. No offense, I really appreciate you letting us crash with you. Staying at the hotel would’ve sucked.”

“No problem, you’re welcome here for as long as you need. You have to talk to her sooner or later though. I wish I knew what exactly happened that night.”

“She hasn’t told you either? I figured she would’ve at least told you. She tells you everything.”

“Nope, nothing. I have a feeling it’s more than just the broken nose though. I have an idea of what happened, but I can’t be sure until she opens up.”

“This is frustrating. She’s thrashing around at night more often than she actually realizes. Sometimes she will wake up, but most nights she doesn’t know it’s happening. I want to help her, but I don’t know how to approach it without her pushing me away again. I can’t lose her again.”

“I hear you. It’s hard. She’ll come around eventually though, she always does. If that fucker did what I think he did I’ll kill him though.”

“Let’s forget about it for tonight. I want her to have a good night tonight.”

We go back to playing video games and finally, after two hours, Faith comes walking out of her bedroom. I love her to death, but I could never be with a girl that takes longer than an hour to get ready. Drives me bat shit crazy.

“Wow, Peach, you look stunning,” Seth compliments her. He’s right, she does look beautiful. She’s wearing a knee length teal summer dress, black cowboy boots, and has her hair in a loose braided side ponytail.

“I’d have to agree with Seth. You look amazing, babygirl. It also took you long enough. What the hell did you do for so long?”

“Do you really want to know about my shaving routine, Caige?” She mocks me.

“Nope, never mind. That’s more information than I needed already.”

Faith and Seth start laughing. She’s like my sister - I really don’t need any details on that shit. It’s enough that I have to listen to them go at it some nights. There’s mental pictures a plenty in my head already.

We head out for dinner before I have to be at the club for my DJ gig. I work full time as a firefighter, and on the weekends I am off I try to get as many gigs in as possible. I love my job as a firefighter but music has always been my passion. I had the chance to turn it into a full time job. I was scared that I would start hating it though if I had to do it to pay bills. So I opted to do it part time whenever I feel like it or when a gig comes up. I don’t usually DJ at Cowboy’s since they have their own, but he’s sick tonight and they asked me to fill in. It’s a well-paid gig. The fact that my friends will be there is an added bonus.

After we finish dinner at The Grill we head over to Cowboy’s. The bouncer waves us through. There’s no one here yet besides the bartenders. I go to set up for the night ahead while Seth and Faith settle in the lounge area that is right next to my booth. The lounge is for DJ guests only and the club provides the drinks as part of the gig. This should definitely make finding a girl to hook up with tonight easier. I mean, who doesn’t like free drinks?

About two hours later, the first guests start to trickle in and I see Skye and Braden walking up to the booth.

“It’s good to see you zombies out. Is Abby still keeping you up every night?” I greet them.

“Dude, not cool. I can’t remember the last time I’ve gotten more than three hours sleep at a time.” Braden yawns.

“He’s lying. I’m the one who gets up with her at night.” Skye is glaring at Braden.

“Well, you’re the one who has the boobs with the milk.” I try to joke. I can’t even imagine how hard parenthood is. As much as I love Abby, I’m glad it’s their child not mine. I’m no way close to being ready to become a father. Wrap it before you tap it. That has always been my motto.

They settle in the lounge area with Seth and Faith while I get the people in the club going.

I’m playing “This Is How We Roll” by Florida Georgia Line when I spot Stacey across the club. We’ve hooked up a couple of times. I don’t usually sleep with the same girl more than once, but Stacey is like me and doesn’t look for more than a hookup. We have the perfect arrangement. She calls me when she needs to be fucked and vice versa. Having a regular hook up saves me all the trouble of girls getting mad when I don’t call them after we had sex. I’m a one night stand kind of guy. I don’t do commitments. Not since... No I can’t go there.

Stacey sees me and walks over to the booth.

“Hey, handsome. I didn’t know you would be here tonight.”

“I didn’t know either until they called me around lunch. Their DJ is sick, so I’m filling in.”

“Well, that’s great. Do you have any plans after this?” She winks at me.

“I do now,” I answer smiling back at her. Well that was easier than I thought. She goes back about her own business. I put together a playlist so I can take a break and hang out with my friends for a bit. The club is hopping by now.

“Hey, Caige, meet my new coworker Amanda Stone. I hope it’s okay I invited her up here. She’s new to town and I
wanted to show her around,” Skye explains.

I look to her right and my breath is taken away. Amanda is hands down the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen. Her baby blue eyes bore into me while I stare at her. She has short brown hair and shit, her body – she isn’t skinny like most girls around here – she has curves in all the right places. My mind instantly goes to the things I want to do that luscious body of hers. To other people she might be considered “big” but to me she’s perfect. I want to drag her to my bedroom and keep her locked away with me all night, but something tells me that she’s different. There’s some sort of innocence about her. Oh what I would give to take that innocence from her over and over. Fuck. Get a grip. I don’t sleep with girls over and over. I sleep with them once then send them on their way. Amanda wasn’t gonna be any different. So why is my stomach tied up in knots just from looking at her?

“Nice to meet you, Caige. Skye has told me so much about you.” Holy hell. Why does she have to have a voice like an angel? I can feel my jeans growing tighter. I excuse myself to the bathroom. I need to get myself under control.

Standing in the bathroom I wonder what the hell just happened. I’m never affected by girls that way. I’d be damned if I would let it happen now. I need to find Stacey and let off some steam.

When I find her I drag her into a deserted hallway. I push her down to her knees. She pulls my pants down to my ankles and releases my hard cock from my boxers. She starts sucking my dick, but somehow I can’t shake the image of a brunette angel. Dammit. When Stacey finishes me off, I pull up my jeans and head back to the DJ booth. Grabbing a beer from the table I go back to providing music to the guests.

“Everything alright, man? You look like you’ve seen a ghost?” Braden walks up behind me.

“Why would you say that? Everything’s peachy.”

“Is that why you ran off after you were introduced to Amanda?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I had to go to the bathroom, that’s all.”

“Uh huh... anyways... I was wondering if you can make sure Amanda gets home alright. Skye and I are heading out. We need some sleep. Abby is staying with my dad so we finally have a chance to sleep in.”

He wants me to get Amanda home? Is he out of his damn mind? Why can’t Faith and Seth do it? Fuck.

“Yeah, I’ll make sure she gets a ride home,” I agree. What other choice do I have?

“Thanks, I owe you.” He goes back to the others and soon I see him and Skye leaving the club, giggling like high school kids. Sleep my ass. They’re probably going to make another baby tonight.

“Okay, ladies and gentlemen, last call. We are about to finish up for tonight. Feel free to follow me on Facebook under DJ Paradox to find out about any of my upcoming gigs. I hope you enjoyed your night.” I set a playlist that would finish out the night.

When I walk over to the lounge Faith and Seth are making out like there was no one around them while Amanda is awkwardly playing on her phone.

“What is a beautiful girl like you doing up here playing third wheel?” I pull her attention to me.

“No need to flatter me, Caige. I know who you are and what you do. I’m not falling for your games. I’m sure you already have some girl lined up to go home with you.”

  “Games? I don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t play games.”

“So you don’t fuck them and leave them?” Well hell, she wasn’t as innocent as I thought after all.

“I do. But they all know what the stakes are. I never lie to them. It’s not my fault they expect relationships and flowers after they sleep with me.”

“Yeah, and I’m not one of those girls.”

I scoot closer invading her personal space. Leaning in I whisper in her ear, “I’m sure I could change your mind. I can make you experience things you have never felt before.” I hear her intake of breath and know she’s not as unaffected by me as she claims to be. It doesn’t matter. She wants more than just a quick lay and I can’t give that to her. I get up to walk over to where Stacey is. Pulling her to me, I kiss her like my life depends on it. She lets out little moans, which causes my dick to twitch. When I turn around I see Amanda watching. Good. She needs to know how I am.

When the club is empty Faith, Seth, Amanda, and I head out to where the cabs are. Stacey is clinging to my arm and for the first time I wish she would just go away.

“Hey, Amanda, I promised Braden to make sure you got home alright. Why don’t you just split a cab with us?” I offer her. I do want to make sure she is safe. Something about her makes me want to protect her.

“I’m a big girl - I can take care of myself. I don’t need some manwhore looking after me.”

“Ouch. What did you do to piss this one off?” Seth asks laughing.

“Apparently she can’t handle the truth. Did my manwhoring ways offend you? Stacey here doesn’t seem to mind. Right, babe?”

“Not at all, handsome. Matter of fact I can’t wait to get you above me. Can we go already? She already said she can take care of herself. I don’t know why we are standing around waiting for her to make up her mind.”

I see the rage in Amanda’s eyes as she walks away and gets in a cab on her own. I know I will catch hell from Braden and Skye for this one, but I don’t care. The farther Amanda gets away from me the better. I would never be able to give my heart to one girl again. It’s been broken one too many times. I’m not about to let that happen again. Not now. Not ever.

I spend all night fucking Stacey’s brains out, but once she leaves I fall asleep thinking of Amanda. Fuck. I’m so screwed.

  Chapter 14

  Seth

I wake to someone ringing the doorbell like a mad person. Who in the world would be here so early on a Sunday morning? I look to my left and see that it’s already after one. Damn. I didn’t drink that much last night. Faith is still dead asleep.

I pull on some sweats and go to open the door. A very angry Skye comes storming in.

“Where the hell is he?” she all but yells.

“Where is who?” I’m scratching my head. I have no idea what is going on here.

“Caige. Where the fuck is he? I’m gonna kick his ass.”

“Umm... I’m not sure he’s here.” She doesn’t wait for my answer before she storms to Caige’s bedroom.

“What the fuck is wrong with you, Caige Aaron O’Donnell? Why in the world would you be so hurtful to Amanda? She has done nothing to you.”

“Okay, let’s all calm down.” I try to diffuse the situation. I understand Skye’s anger, it was a dick move the way he treated Amanda last night.

“Shut up, Seth. Don’t get in the middle of this. I have had it with his disrespectful behavior towards women. I won’t let him treat Amanda the way he did last night.” She glares at me.

“Oh, but her calling me a manwhore is okay? Listen, I don’t owe you an explanation of why I do things the way I do. I love you Skye, but back the fuck off. All I did was be honest with her. This is who I am. If you have a problem with it, you know where the door is.”

“Why do you do this, Caige? Why do you treat women like this? Just once I want to see you open up your heart to someone. You too deserve a chance at happiness. I saw the way you looked at Amanda last night. You felt something when you saw her. That scares you. Well guess what? Love is scary.”

“I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. I felt nothing. I don’t feel anything for women. I fuck ’em and leave ’em. It’s what I do, it’s who I am. I will never have my heart broken again.”

“You’re such an idiot. Amanda is a good girl. You should at least give it a chance. Get to know her.”

“Let me spell it out for you. I’m. Not. Interested. End of story. Now if you’d excuse me, I have a hangover to tend to.”

“What is up with all the yelling? Oh hey, Skye.” Faith drags herself in the room. Even sleepy and with messy hair she’s beautiful.

“That’s a question you need to ask
Skye. She’s the one barging in here chewing me a new one when all I did was be honest.” Caige is clearly agitated.

“Is this about Amanda?” Faith asks.

“Yes. It’s about how our best friend is the biggest dick ever to walk this earth. It’s okay. One day he’ll wake up and realize that shoving his dick in the next best pussy isn’t all that great. But if you ever dare to be hurtful to Amanda again, I will personally castrate you. Best friend or not.”

“Come on, Skye. Let me make us some coffee.” Faith pulls Skye out of the room.

“Dude, what was that all about?” I ask.

“Fuck. I don’t even know. Amanda pretty much told me that she isn’t one of those girls that just goes home with a guy. Well, I told her I could change her mind. Then I kissed Stacey. You know about the little scene by the cab stand. That’s all. I don’t see what the big fucking deal is. I’ve always been like this.”

“Even I have to say that was kind of shitty of you last night. You shouldn’t have embarrassed her like that in front of all of us.”

“I fucked up, didn’t I?” He buries his face in his hands.

“Yeah, dude, I think you owe Amanda an apology.”

“If she will even hear me out. I’m gonna go shower. My head is pounding. Fucking tequila. It should be called ‘te-kill- ya’.”

I walk out in the kitchen and find that Skye has calmed down.

“Has he realized what a douche-canoe dick-face he is?” she asks looking up at me.

“Yeah. He’s sorry. I’m sure he didn’t mean it like that.”

“I just don’t get it. Why is he fighting so hard never to fall in love? What happened to him that made him act like this?” Skye looks defeated.

“Skye, there was a girl once. He was head over heels for her. They dated for a few years until she completely broke him. I can’t tell you more. I promised him. It’s his story, not mine. He’d be pissed if he knew I even told you this much,” Faith explains.

“Why has he never told me? I’m his friend. Agh. If I wouldn’t love him so much I’d throat punch him.”
