Regardless of your reading style or how this book came into your hands, I want to extend my thanks to you and offer a bit of social media fun. If you feel so inclined, hit me up on Twitter @CrankyBolt and share with me your thoughts, the music you listened to, and what you are looking forward to in the sequel.
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
My acknowledgments for this book start with the giant flaming ball of life that hangs in the sky while we hurtle around it. The sun. My aversion to this heat source is what started my drive to tell stories and play games with friends from a very young age. It inspired many other people to do the same, and together, over the years, some of us in the Chicagoland area banded together to create a universe in our imaginations.
I want to thank every one of you who played in, brought art and inspiration for, and continue to expand the setting. From the dedicated players all the way to the ones who would poke their heads in to witness our madness. Thank you. If you had never sat through my countless hours of storytelling, I never would have had the dedication to write a book like this.
The one creature who does not get an acknowledgment is the spider. Screw spiders and the alien ship they crashed in before starting an invasive conquest of our planet.

Richard Heinz’s inspiration for The Seventh Age: Dawn traces back to his history as an electrician and especially to his love of crawling through the hidden underbelly of a city to uncover its secret wonders—not to mention countless caffeine-driven hours spent playing Diablo. The Seventh Age: Dawn is Rick’s first book, as well as book one in the sprawling urban fantasy epic the Seventh Age series.
