ARCHANGELS FURY

Page 4

All of a sudden all the love and peace that was surrounding Jim was gone and he was falling back towards his body. As he looked at his body he noticed the surgery was over and he was in a recovery bed with an oxygen mask on. It felt as if he had jumped off the roof and landed onto his chest and now the pain was back. He was back in his body.

As he lay there he opened his eyes and saw a male nurse with bright blue eyes standing over him. The nurse placed his hand on Jim’s chest and the room started to shudder slightly as a bright white light flowed from his hands into Jim’s body.

Jim’s wife Melinda, Bondy, Captain Taylor and a couple of uniformed cops were waiting anxiously in the waiting room. Melinda was crying and they were comforting her when a doctor came out. “Melinda, take a seat,” he said.

“OK, doc, don’t bullshit me. I just want to know, is he alive?”

  “Yes, he’s alive.”

Melinda took a deep breath and sighed. She started crying tears of relief.

“I’m really sorry but he’s not out of the woods yet.”

“What do you mean?” Bondy asked.

“He lost an incredible amount of blood. He suffered severe trauma all over his body. He was stabbed 26 times. One stab pierced his lung, another hit his intestines, liver, spinal cord. His heart stopped several times on the operating table. Right now he is in a coma and it’s very touch and go. He could wake up in a few hours, a few weeks, or …”

  “Or what?” Melinda asked.

“Or he may never wake up. One thing you need to be aware of is that, if he does wake up, he may have severe difficulty doing the simplest tasks because one of the wounds, although it didn’t completely sever the spinal cord, it did nick it. So he will need extensive rehabilitation.” He paused. “I’m very sorry.”

As Melinda started to sob, Captain Taylor said, “All right doc, thanks heaps for all your effort, we will take care of her.” Beside her, Bondy tried to comfort her, without success.

As Melinda sat down she noticed a male nurse walking out of Jim’s room. She was too upset to care about the extremely bright blue eyes he had.

  It was the archangel Uriel.

“Can I see him now please?” Melinda asked the doctor.

“I don’t know if you would want to see him like this,” he replied. “At the moment he is in a pretty bad way.”

“He’s right, Mel,” Bondy said. “We should probably get you home and try and get some rest and come back later.”

“No!” she burst out. “I want to see him now!”

Bondy paused. “OK, let’s go in and see him.”

The three walked into the room and then got the shock of their lives when they saw Jim standing there in his hospital gown fully conscious and mobile. Melinda screamed with delight and ran over and hugged him and cried uncontrollably with joy as he stood there silently. The doctor then came running in and ushered Jim back to his bed. “Jesus, Jim you need to get back in bed!”

Bondy looked at Captain Taylor who had his mouth wide open in disbelief and said, “Captain, this has been without a doubt the strangest, most fucked-up day of my life!”

Jim said, “I’m all right, baby!”

Melinda was professing her love for Jim and kissing him constantly. Bondy sat on the other side of the bed and placed his hand on his shoulder and said, “I’m glad you got out alive, bro, but you know the others didn’t make it, don’t you?”

“Yeah, I know,” Jim said. “Trust me, though, they’re in a better place!”

“What do you mean?” asked Bondy. “What the fuck happened in there? What were those things? How the hell are you fully recovered?”

“I don’t know but we got three of the pricks and –”

Captain Taylor spoke. “And what, Jim?”

“Something else got the other two.”

  “Something?” Bondy asked.

“Yeah,” Jim said. “It was like the others but its wings were a different colour, they were like a white bone colour. I, um, I think it was an angel.”

“Jim,” said Captain Taylor, “The men you killed were the size of any other man but they weighed over 300 kilograms. It took six cops to lift each of the bodies!”

“Yeah,” Bondy said. “And then their bodies decomposed in less than an hour. Even their bones disappeared.”

“Did you see the nurse that was in here before?” Jim asked.

Melinda answered him. “The one with the blue eyes?”

“Yeah, I think he was one of them, he healed me!”

Captain Taylor spoke. “If I had have heard a story like this 12 hours ago especially from someone like you Jim I would have recommended you for a psychiatric assessment! But after what I’ve seen this afternoon, I think I need a bourbon.”

“Mind if I join you, Captain?” Bondy asked.

“Not at all. Go home get changed and meet me at the pub!”

“Will do,” Bondy said. “I am gonna drink my liver into the frikken gutter.”

As Jim went to get up the doctor stopped fiddling with his charts and said, “I’m sorry Mr Nolan but you’re not going anywhere! I don’t know what is going on here and I don’t think I want to. Somehow you have miraculously gotten over this. I need to make sure, so I would like to keep you here under observation and run a couple tests.”

  “I’m fine, doc, trust me.”

“He’s right, Jim!” Captain Taylor said. “Stay here at least overnight. That’s an order!”

“What about the families of the others?” Jim asked.

“They’ve been told; they’ve got officers over with them now. This is going to be all over the news tomorrow. That’s not your concern, though, son. You just stay here and relax. I’m really sorry, I know you SERT boys were a close bunch.”

Captain Taylor then patted Jim’s arm and left with Bondy.

“You should go too, babe,” Jim said to Melinda. “Get some rest and look after the kids and I’ll see you tomorrow.”

As Melinda kissed Jim goodbye and went to walk out Jim grabbed her arm and said, “Hey babe, you know all these years you’ve been dragging me to church every Sunday, you were right! There is a God and I’ve seen him.”

“I can’t wait to hear about it,” she said. “Tell me when I come back ’cos right now I have to get back to the kids and make some phone calls to let everyone know you’re OK.” She kissed him again and walked out.

  THE PUB

An hour later Bondy and the captain were sitting in the pub in their civilian clothing, drinking their beer. They sat in a comfortable silence, not wishing to talk about the events of the day. Bondy was deeply upset and furious over the loss of his friends but he was containing himself pretty well. Neither he nor the captain knew what to say about what had happened.

The pub was pretty quiet. There were only them, the bar tender, three other men sitting at a table about eight metres away and two bikers playing pool. Finally Bondy broke the silence and said, “Captain, I am fucking pretty freaked out about today, I mean I saw that thing fly and, and then I just, well I don’t know.”

“Don’t worry about it mate, you’re not the only one,” the captain replied. “I’ve been on the police force for 30 years now and this definitely takes the cake!”

The two bikers overheard them. One walked over in an intimidating way and said, “Did I just hear you say you were a pig?”

Bondy, saddened, confused and in no mood for any nonsense, replied on the captain’s behalf. “No! He actually said your fat slut mother is a pig. You tattooed penis. We lost some good mates today, so fuck off or I’ll put your stupid head through the wall!”

The biker then became more aggressive and said, “Oh really tough guy, well how about me and you sort it out like men, you put your badge on the table and I’ll put my colours and patches on the table. Faggot!”

Bondy replied, “I can’t be a faggot ’cos I spent all night with the boys tag teaming your old lady, now fuck off!” The biker then walked in closer ready to throw a punch whe
n a yell came from the other three men sitting at the table. “I wouldn’t do that Jason!”

The biker stopped mid-stride and said to the three men, “Who the fuck are you pricks? And how do you know me? Why have you got sunglasses on? It’s night time! What? The lights too bright for you are they? Or are you blind? I can see you have your two little guide dogs there with you!” The archangel Amitiel then removed his sunglasses, revealing his blue eyes, and walked over to Jason. The other biker stood there with his pool cue ready to back him up.

Amitiel said, “I have known you since the day you were born Jason! I have watched you grow and spiral out of control. I watched you take your first puff of marijuana when you were 10, I saw your father beat you and your mother mercilessly until eventually you hit him in the head with a shovel, knocking him unconscious, and then you ran away at age 14. I saw you fighting constantly, rebelling against any form of authority, I heard you praying for God to help you when your father beat you almost on a daily basis and I saw you get raped when you were in prison. I then saw you join the bikie gang and turn to an even more serious life of crime as a way of getting fear and respect from people so you couldn’t get hurt by anyone any more.”

Jason paused and replied, “How the fuck do you know so much about me?”

Amitiel then placed his hand on Jason’s shoulder and instantly Jason gasped and almost turned to jelly. He began shuddering as if he were being electrocuted. The other biker was about to swing his pool cue but realised his mate was not being hurt. He then just watched on, not knowing what to do.

Tears started to fall from Jason’s eyes as he was being communicated with on a telepathic level, far beyond anything humans are capable of. Amitiel then said out loud, “God wants you to know He was not responsible for what has happened to you but He loves you more than you can imagine and we’re all waiting for you to turn back towards Him. Forgive the people that have hurt you. They have been influenced into hurting people the same way you have.”

Amitiel then turned to the other biker, smiled and said, “Shall I read you too?” The second biker by this stage was holding the pool cue by the tip with the base resting on the ground. He shook his head and said, “Nah, I’ll be all right.”

The bikers then walked out, amazed.

Bondy looked at the captain and said, “OK, just when I thought this day couldn’t get any stranger.” The archangels Luke, Metatron and Amitiel then pulled up a chair with the captain and Bondy and said, “We need to talk.”

Amitiel spoke. “What you have witnessed today you were not supposed to see. I’m afraid you are in terrible danger.”

“Yeah, no shit,” Bondy burst out. “From those winged freaks I saw today?”

“They are the fallen,” Metatron answered. “They are demons bent on inflicting as much damage as they can in the short time they have.”

“Hang on a minute,” Captain Taylor said. “We appreciate you helping us out with that bearded idiot just before but really! Do you expect us to believe this?”

“What’s the matter?” Luke asked. “Did the 350-kilogram winged bodies that disappeared within an hour not convince you? Or the leather-wearing meat axe just then, that went from being a cop-hating nutbag to a blabbering girl, wasn’t that enough?”

“Not to mention the miraculous recovery of your friend Jim,” Amitiel said.

“OK, so I suppose we have you to thank for that?” Bondy said.

“No, that was Uriel,” Luke said.

  “Who’s Uriel?”

“He’s another arch just like us.”

“An arch?” asked Captain Taylor. “What, like a boat?”

“Not quite,” Amitiel answered. “We are archangels. We are warriors of God and Uriel is now watching over your friend’s family.”

  “Why? Are they in danger?”

“Very much so,” Amitiel responded. “If Sammael hasn’t already sent someone there to avenge Lilith’s death, he soon will.”

  “Who’s Lilith?” Bondy asked.

“He was the arch demon in the warehouse today,” Metatron replied. “Your friend killed his physical body and it will be another 666 years before he can adopt physical form again.”

“Let me guess,” said Captain Taylor, “666 being the devil’s number?”

“Yes,” Amitiel answered, “but this is not exact. You have to give or take a few decades depending on who is winning the non-physical spiritual war at the time. Even though Satan has been enslaved in hell forever, he has not been stripped of his angelic powers. Every 666-year cycle, his powers are at their strongest.”

“That’s right,” Luke said. “Apart from his ability to cause natural disasters, Satan can send 666 of his demons in physical form every 600 to 700 years depending how much evil is reigning on earth at the time. Your friend killed one of his best agents and revenge is one evil emotion the fallen take very seriously.”

“Well, why don’t they go after Jim?” Bondy asked.

“They will eventually,” Metatron said, “but the fallen are pure evil. They thrive on misery. They will want to hurt him as much as possible and the best way to do this is by torturing his family in the most hideous way.”

“What about me?” Bondy asked. “I blew one of their fucken heads off!”

Metatron answered him. “The demon you killed was a warrior demon. There are 659 more of them but Lilith was an arch demon. He was one of seven chosen by Satan himself to be responsible for some of his most sinister deeds. The thought of an arch demon getting killed by a human will infuriate the fallen and they will put whatever plans they have this cycle on hold to take revenge on your friend. You also have no immediate family. The closest people to you are in the police force. If they come for you, we will be waiting for them.”

Captain Taylor spoke. “I will send a unit around to his house and an extra unit to his hospital.”

“Fuck that,” Bondy said. “I’m going to go and get him. We can fight better together, Captain, we’ve trained together for years.”

“We will come with you,” Amitiel said. “Don’t worry about sending a unit to their house. If Sammael sends anyone there, he’ll wish he hadn’t.”

“Who is this Sammael cat?” Bondy asked.

“He is the leader of the fallen,” Amitiel answered. “Satan himself can not take physical form. It doesn’t matter; he can do more damage in non-physical form anyway by tempting, deceiving and poisoning humans’ minds against our Lord, just as he has always done. He also has caused every natural disaster that has ever happened, while in non-physical form.”

As the five got up and walked out the captain got on his mobile phone to one of his subordinates and organised a cop to stay at his own family’s house for the night. They then got into Captain Taylor’s family van and drove to the hospital. When they got to the hospital all five walked into Jim’s hospital room and got him up and ready to go.

As Bondy and the captain were gathering Jim’s clothes, the three archangels kept watch outside. They all then hurriedly ushered Jim out of the hospital and Jim said, “What’s going on?”

“We will explain on the way,” Amitiel replied.

About 10 minutes later all five were still en route, firstly to the police station to get weapons and then secondly to Jim’s house. While in transit, the angels explained their predicament.

After the archangels finished explaining things en route, Jim broke his silence.

“So basically you’re saying these pricks can come here and run amok every six or seven hundred years and that’s why you’re here?”

“That’s right,” Amitiel confirmed. “They’ve done it twice before and they’ll do it again now and again in 666 years from now and we have to kill them every time.”

As they came screeching into the police compound, all five went running into the kit-up room to get their weapons and equipment. As the quartermaster tried to get them to sign for their weapons the captain said, “Just put it under my name!”

  Bondy and Jim t
hen jumped into the SERT vehicle with the archangels. Captain Taylor said, “Go! I have to get home to my family. They’ll probably come for me too. Good luck!”

“You too,” Bondy and Jim responded and sped out of the compound. As they headed for Jim’s house the radio was on and the nightly news was playing. It started with news about the serial killings and then went on to explain about the incident that Jim and Bondy had been involved in, as Jim just shook his head. He turned to Luke.

“How long will these pricks be in physical form for?”

“Until we kill them or they kill every human on earth, which is more than likely what they want to do.”

The radio news program was now talking about other headlines and it was more doom and gloom. There was a story about the kidnapping and murder of a young girl, then a suicide bombing and then a bank robbery. Jim shook his head again. “OK, so basically every 666 years, or thereabouts, 666 of these pricks can come and cause as much pain as they want to the human race and you are our only help.”

“Not quite,” said Amitiel. “If things get too out of hand our most powerful warriors Michael and Gabriel will adopt physical form too, but they are staying in non-physical form to keep doing God’s work by influencing people to do good things.”

Metatron spoke. “That’s why the fallen are so late now!”

“What do you mean, late?” Jim asked.

Luke answered. “If there is a lot of evil in the world they can adopt physical form before the 666-year cycle. If there is more good than evil, they are late, simple. Energy attracts energy. Negative attracts negative. Positive attracts positive.”
