Ruby's Choice (Ditch Lane Diaries Book 1) Page 19

by D. F. Jones

Ruby had intervened for her Aunt Sammie. The day her aunt should have died, Ruby convinced her aunt to go hiking the backwoods of Campbell Ridge with her. Ruby saved her life. Ruby had decided not to intervene in Cathy’s life, her friend from high school. Ruby’s dream gave her the details of Cathy’s cheating husband, but she knew Becky, her daughter, would be the best part of Cathy’s life. Ruby had remained silent.

Seneca revealed in her dreams about Anna and Sandy’s gifts and how all three of them were to use their gifts for the greater good of mankind. The girls would be facing major challenges over the years and evil would be coming for them. Ruby would tell Anna and Sandy about her dreams, at the assigned time designated by Seneca, when they moved into the Bell Street house. The girls would create the Ditch Lane Diaries that would give them direction to their path. As they matured, so would their abilities.

When Ruby intervened on behalf of someone, there were consequences that created ripples in time, changing people’s lives forever. She would pray for guidance when making those choices.

Ruby’s dreams revealed parts of her future, but trying to navigate her choices about her own future had been tricky. In her dreams, she had seen Reed and Brent and what would have happened had she not intervened tonight. Reed was her destiny. She had made the right choice.

Six months later, on December tenth, Ruby and Reed were married at Everglade Farms.

  About the Author

Here’s a little information about me. I grew up in Middle Tennessee. Unlike Ruby’s idyllic childhood, mine was a little rocky. I nearly lost my mother in the sixth grade to a terrible car accident. She was in and out of the hospital for several years. Writing became a part of my life. I used writing as a form of therapy. I wrote poems and plays. I started my own school newspaper. My beautiful mom did eventually recover, and she continues to be an inspiration to me today.

I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree and landed a job with the ABC affiliate in Nashville. I started writing creatively for my clients, and eventually opened my own media company.

After years of writing creative for other people, I decided to write something for myself. It turned into my debut novel, Ruby’s Choice. If you love to read and get immersed into the characters of a book, then you will catch a small drift of how incredible it is to write your own characters and breathe them into life. I love every second of writing, well, maybe not the snip, snip of some scenes. But, even cutting scenes, you begin to see the novel take shape. It’s a wonderful feeling, and I applaud every author who has had the tenacity to see their project through to the end. I love Ruby’s Choice and I trust you will enjoy reading her story.

  All the best!
