Wolves At The Door

by Girl, Breukelen

“Then you should have probably made sure it was baby pink, instead of black. That is seriously bad ass, so metal.” Thane replied as his fingers stroked the unicorn in question on the t shirt, feeling Hooper’s rock hard abs underneath it.

Booker’s conversation with the other Manhattan Maen werewolves broke and he looked over at his brother and nodded his head at Thane. “Thane,”

“Booker.” Thane replied in greeting dropping his fingers off Hooper.

Bg looked from Thane to Booker and back again in surprise. “You two know each other?”

“Yeah, we met this morning,” Booker commented holding Thane’s gaze. Gazes went back and forth between the two males. Thane relaxed into the sofa and slung an arm around Hooper’s shoulders, deliberately.

He hadn’t told his sister he was gay yet, but he suspected she already knew. Not that he felt he had to tell anyone. But Booker needed to learn that Thane was a werewolf who didn’t back down from a challenge. And wouldn’t hide from his own sexuality.

“Yeah, well man,” He said reaching for his drink and taking a sip “That’s what you get for barging into another man’s bedroom at the crack of dawn.” Hooper looked at Thane who glanced down at him before back his brother. Come closer, love. Thane told Hooper telepathically and watched as Hooper snuggled into his side without hesitation.

It didn’t escape anyone’s notice that Hooper was pressed against Thane’s side and gazing at the male like he was some sort of demi-god of love. But Phelan who was not phased by his brother’s open display of affection, decided to regain control of the group.

“Dude, you beat me, I only just got introduced to your brother and I live next door to him.” Phelan said breaking the silence and sticking his hand out to Booker Parish to alleviate the tension in the group.

Booker looked at his hand for a moment. It was Bg who kept the situation from remaining strained.

“My other brother, and twin.” Bg said at Booker which caused him to blink and then shake Phelan’s hand.

  “Booker,”

  “Phelan.”

Booker sat down near Bg and Jules, the furthest away from Thane and Hooper.

“Okay, you know what this group needs to loose themselves up, another round,” Jules said signaling the bar staff again. “Cause shit just got real for a moment.” He muttered to Bg whose eyes flicked around to Booker.

“Yeah, werewolf life, has a way of doing that.” She said sharing a look with Booker as he nodded his head slightly back at her.

Hooper Parish could handle anything now, that he was pressed against the hard body of Thane. Nothing else could possibly matter, other than the heat, scent and assurance that radiated from the alpha werewolf to him. Again, he felt like he was in the right place, had a place to belong to, all because it meant Thane Cavello was paying attention to him.

Thane’s body language remained calm but possessive around Hooper, as he chatted amongst the group when called for and occasionally spied on Booker Parish’s interaction with his sister. There was something there he wanted to know about. And because of that, Booker hadn’t taken to Thane all that well.

“Hooper, it’s so nice to finally meet Booker’s brother, I’ve heard him mention you I don’t know how many times, but we never met.” Bg said enthusiastically.

“You mean, you’ve never met.” Jules said correcting Bg’s English.

Paris looked back at the blonde werewolf sternly. “Are you addressing my pack mate?” Paris growled at him. Jules bowed his head quickly and diverted his eyes. Hooper frowned in confusion.

“Sorry my alpha.” Jules replied quickly. Hooper watched on in fascination at the power play before him. He wasn’t sure he understood why it was required. After all, he knew what Bg meant.

“It’a not’s me you should be apologizing to,” Paris said back at him as the whole group watched the very public reprimand from the Manhattan Maen pack leader.

“It’s okay,” Hooper interjected quickly as Jules raised his head to look over at Hooper, Paris’s eyes looked over at him as did Bg’s. “Bg just meant,” Hooper said with a wave of his hand “That uh, we’d never met before now. Even when she was watching over us in the hospital.” Hooper blurted out quickly.

Booker sculled his beer. Thane picked up his drink again and sipped from it watching Hooper closely.

Don’t let it define me, right? Hooper said in his own mind at Thane. That’s what you said to me.

You don’t have to explain jack shit to these wolves, love, they’re used to certain formalities that go with power. Thane found himself talking back to Hooper telepathically. It’s a cultural thing.

I’m not going to be defined by this. Hooper replied back at Thane picking up the rest of his beer and sipping it.

“It was the Breukelen who found Booker and I and helped us after our attack.” Hooper said out loud watching as his brother became rather tense. “We were there in uh, hospital for awhile and I don’t know, I saw a few faces, but I never saw Bg’s. Apparently you were rather instrumental in getting us any kind of assistance from you’re pack.”

  Bg smiled back at him.

“So yes, it’s rather nice to finally meet you, after all these years.” Hooper replied. “After all, I owe you somewhat of a thanks for helping us out back then and an apology for whatever you might have heard me yell down the phone the other night when you were trying to talk to your brother.” Hooper grinned, looking up at Thane.

Damn if Thane didn’t want reach down and kiss Hooper’s expectant face. I’ll make it up to you later love. Thane told him while holding his gaze.

Bg laughed back at him. “Oh what was it you said again?” Bg asked him.

Hooper’s gaze fell off Thane instantly and he looked over at Bg. All eyes fell back on Hooper. Booker’s eyes drilled into his brothers. Hooper looked at the large alpha male beside Bg, he looked serious as all hell.

Oh shit, is this a werewolf protocol thing. Like with the blonde? Hooper asked Thane internally as he panicked. Thane ran his hand up the back of Hooper’s neck, under his hair line, until the lycan began to relax again.

“Bg’s teasing you.” Thane said out loud. He glanced over at Bg. “Right?”

“Of course I’m teasing.” Bg said back at him, allowing Hooper some anxiety reprieve. “After all, I heard perfectly well what you were going to do to my brother that night. I have werewolf hearing, there’s no need to yell it.” She teased picking up her drink of wine. “My hearings exceptional.” She grinned around her wine glass as him.

Hooper had the decency to blush. The alpha male beside her chuckled too and glanced over at Hooper. “We all have good hearing, especially when we’re in close proximity to one another.” He winked at Hooper.

“Oh my god, not you too, you didn’t?” Paris nodded his head. “Kill me now.” Hooper muttered putting a hand over his face as the others laughed at the situation.

“I didn’t hear it and judging by this group’s reaction, I think I’m glad.” Booker said watching as Hooper buried his face into Thane’s shoulder. Thane patted Hooper’s hair and kissed the top of his head.

“By all accounts, Hooper, you’re hard to kill. So don’t wish for that.” Paris replied as Bg ran her hand up Paris’s shirt covered chest, playing with his tie. Paris’s eyes once again landed on his pack mate.

“Guess.” Hooper mumbled back at him.

“But you could wish the fuckers who bit you did, that would alright.” Phelan said picking up his second drink. “Nothing wrong with that I say.”

“Might prove a little difficult,” Paris commented absently as he ran a finger around Bg’s mouth. “Re-animation would be needed and zombie werewolves would just be a pain in the ass. For everyone.”

Hooper stiffened in Thane’s embrace and lifted his head, turning back around to face the group. Booker Parish looked frozen on the spot, his glass held high in his hand. “What does that mean?” His eyes locked on to Paris D’arenberg who was playing wi
th his pack mate.

“You know, Booker and I already dealt with,”

“Uh, what Paris is saying,” Booker cut in over the top of Paris quickly putting his glass down and looking at Hooper as Paris stilled and frowned across at Booker. “Can’t kill what’s already dead and uh,”

Hooper’s mouth dropped open. Bg began to frown and looked from Booker to Hooper. Paris stared at Booker hard.

“Booker,” Paris cut in over the top of him. Booker’s eyes were wide as he stared at Hooper in fear. “Booker!” Paris snapped at him. Booker turned to look at Paris. Paris pushed Bg up off him.

“We need the room.” Paris said in a deep voice as he stared at Booker Parish. “Jules, clear the room.”

Bg looked back at her pack mate in anxious surprise. “Paris, what are you,” Jules put a hand on Bg’s shoulder as all the male werewolves stood up suddenly, moving her out of the seating area. “Christa, get rid of the detail.” Jules called out to other female Breukelen werewolf.

“Booker what the hell is going on?” Hooper said suddenly all too aware of the tense state between male wolves and the angst in the air. Booker looked at Hooper sadly and away again, lowering his head. “You tell me what the hell is going on here, what did you mean by that comment about zombie werewolves?”

“Booker, if you won’t tell him, I will.” Paris said looking over at Booker Parish. “You’d told me you had.”

“Booker?” Hooper asked as Thane tensed ready at his back.

“Why’d you have to do it man, after all this time?” Booker said lifting his head to stare back at Paris D’arenberg. “Haven’t we gone through enough just being lycans, being something we never wanted to be?”

Paris shoved Booker in the chest suddenly. “You told me, he knew. That it was what you both wanted!” Booker growled back at Paris and shoved him in the chest suddenly.

“You should’ve been the one to tell your brother!” Paris yelled at him. “Not now, but back then, like you said you had!” Paris said poking Booker in the chest hard.

“Tell me what?” Hooper asked feeling his heart racing to a speed that didn’t seem capable of keeping in his body. Booker shook his head back and forth and stared at Paris.

“The werewolves that attacked us, what did you do?” Hooper asked softly.

He started to look towards Hooper but couldn’t. Instead lowering his head in shame.

“You arrogant son of a bitch!” Booker yelled as his anger rose up swinging a right hook and hitting Paris in the side of his jaw, solidly.

Paris stumbled half down to the couch before regaining his balance and leaping forward, charging Booker in his mid-section “This is your fault!”

Hooper watched as the two males knocked each other to the ground and began trading blows. He began to shake as tears filled his eyes.

“Stop it!” Bg shouted at the two fighting males. “Stop it!” Thane reached for Hooper, Phelan and Bg moved forward at the same time. “Stop it!”

Jules put up his hands at Christa to control the other Breukelen wolves in the room. Indicating she shouldn’t get involved. Christa narrowed her gaze on Julian and angled her head down, a warning sign for a fight. Growling back at him as Bg, being closest to Booker tried to grapple with him as Phelan tried to pull Paris back. To break the two males apart.

  “Stop fighting.”

Booker twisted around threw his elbow out sharply connecting with something. His focus was only on Paris, ignoring Bg as she fell backwards, landing heavily on her ass with blood gushing from her nose.

The scent of blood hitting the air made everyone stop and Paris twisted around to see Bg, on the ground, touching the blood that streaked down her face and chin. “Oh my god.” Booker muttered dropping to his knees instantly and looking at her. “Baby Girl I’m am so sorry. So, so sorry.” He repeated. Bg looked over at him, wide eyed and horrified and shocked in silence. “I’m so sorry, so sorry.” He said as tears ran down his face instantly. “I would never”

Phelan let out a growl and pushed past Paris, to march over to Booker and drawing back his foot, kick him in the face, causing Booker to fall backwards with a thud. Nose instantly broken. Booker gasped as blood filled his mouth. Paris jumped on top of Booker and started hitting him instantly while he was down. Pounding his face with his fists repeatedly.

Tears ran down Hooper’s face as Thane released him from his hold and marched over to where Booker lie and Paris continued to punch him, repeatedly with body blows. Dropping to his knees he too threw two punches into Booker’s face before standing up and panting, looking down at the beaten wolf. It would’ve been disrespectful to Bg not to do something in her honor.

Paris stood up bloody and panting over the unmoving body of Booker Parish. Booker gasped for breath as his head lolled to the side. “You will never get to touch her, ever again, lycan. Ever again.”

Paris bent down to assess his pack mate and scooped her up in his arms. Bg slid her arms around Paris’s neck. “Jules,” Paris panted. “Get the car, we’re going back to Bg’s place.”

“No,” Bg croaked between tears. “Home, Manhattan.” She said back at him. Paris nodded his head and Jules moved quickly. “Phelan, you’re welcome to come with us, as is Thane.”

“I just need to,” Thane looked around them. Hooper was nowhere to be seen. “Shit.” He hadn’t even noticed him slip away. In all the commotion at his sister being hit down, and the tempers flaring as a result of it.

“You need to put your dog on a fucking leash before we put him down.” Paris growled at Christa. “I’ll be doing more than talking to Bodil on this one. Don’t think the Breukelen alpha won’t hear from me on this.” He began carrying Bg out of the room. “Phelan.”

Phelan ran over to Paris, but looked back at Thane. “Are you coming?”

  27

Leaving the nightclub the same time as Paris and Phelan, Thane walked with them to the town car, and opened the door for Paris. Stopping him before he moved to put Bg in the car.

“I’ll check on you in the morning little one.” He said kissing Bg’s forehead. He looked at Paris. “Take care of her.”

“Won’t leave her side.” Paris replied automatically and bent down to help Bg into the car.

Phelan stood beside the open car door. “You’re not coming with us are you? How can you not, his brother just attacked our sister!” Phelan said angrily. “Look at her!”

“Hooper’s not responsible for his brother’s actions. I’m sure the Breukelen pack will deal with Booker and Paris with them. Just as you and Paris will look after her tonight and always.” Thane said calmer than he felt.

“I need to look after Hooper. After what he just witnessed, saw, learnt. He’s going to be hurting. And this world does not need another enraged, hurting lycan on the loose.”

“So now, you’re the general public’s crusader?” Phelan fired back at him. He shook his head and slid into the car quickly.

“I’ll speak to you in the morning when we’ve all got cooler heads.” Thane replied closing the door on is brother and tapping the roof of the car. He stayed long enough to watch the car drive off before lifting his nose to the wind and turning around in an effort to pick up Hooper’s scent. But too much time had passed for his scent to linger so easily for Thane to find.

Hooper. Thane tried telepathically. Elie, love, talk to me. Thane began walking to the nearest taxi cab.

“The Bronx.” He said to the driver hoping into the back of the cab. “Take me to Bronx Park, as fast as you can.” Thane instructed the driver.

Hooper would be emotionally agitated, otherwise he wouldn’t have run out on what went down in the night club. Of course it was understandable why he had. He’d been a lycan for seventeen years of his life, and only just found out his brother had killed those responsible for making him one in the first place.

There was no point in talking to Booker at present and having it out with him about how he could possibly hold such a secret from his brother. Something
that Thane knew from his brief time with Hooper, was incredibly important to the lycan wolf. Besides, was it really his place to take on Booker on half of Hooper?

Third night of lunar week and given how physical Thane had to be with Hooper for the start of the lunar cycle, he knew that the emotional stress he’d just gone through would only bring on Hooper’s need to shape shift, sooner rather than later.

Thoughts of being physical with Hooper, his hands, the feel of his body fitting Thane so perfectly, the smell of his come, his ability to come on command, it all made Thane squirm in his seat. He had planned to drop in on Hooper after the nightclub and kiss him good night. And maybe a bit more than that.

And even Hooper had admitted to Thane that when he was depressed and in need, during a lunar week he ran at The Bronx Park just so he could get screwed senseless as a wolf. The thought of another wolf mounting Hooper made Thane grind his teeth together till his jaw hurt. There was no way he would let anyone else mount that lycan’s ass.

Hooper was his, he just didn’t know it yet.

  28

Thane walked into The Bronx Park the same way he’d come in with Hooper previously. Wolves, like humans, developed routines that ruled them. That helped them, especially during lunar week when everything inside of them tested their abilities to remain rational and present as normal in standard situations.

Which was probably partially the reason why Paris and Booker had been triggered so easily into a fight. But not the only reason. Hooper. Thane tried again. Elisandro Parish. Still he was met with nothing in return. Which didn’t necessarily mean all that much. Given that they’d only realized tonight that Hooper could respond back to him telepathically.

It was possible he could only do it in his human form, or perhaps only during lunar week when abilities tended to be heightened several degrees more. The lycan wolf in his tribal state probably wouldn’t understand how to communicate like that with him. Or worse still, might not want to. It was possible, he thought as he parted bushes and found the spot he had masturbated Hooper at, just didn’t want to talk back to him.
