Chapter Eight
It was during the next meeting Doug had with Sam when he became more vocal about his opinions regarding the real and present threat to America from the radical terrorists organizations. He began by saying, “During the sixty seven years I’ve been alive, I seen the United States defeat or contain groups like the Klug Klux Klan, The Black Panthers, the Aryan Nation, the Symonese Liberation Army, the Hells Angels, and a lot of others. I’ve seen people march in our streets in America, carrying their signs and protesting the different wars, but so far we haven’t seen the kind of destruction that these radical Islamic extremist pose to the people of America. If we don’t stop them now then they’ll be killing more innocent people in our malls and in our streets, just like they did in Boston. They’ll wear their suicide vests into a restaurant filled with men, women and children and blow themselves up, killing hundreds of people in the process. I’ve already proven, beyond a shadow of doubt, that terror cells are here in America. They're just poised and waiting for the right time to go on attack.”
Sam spoke up and said, “Yes, we know Doug. We’re at war with these terrorists. We have been for years since before the first 1993 attack on the World Trade Center. We’ve been able to foil a lot of attacks of the radical terrorists since 9/11, but unfortunately we haven’t been able to stop them all. The government has arrested or killed a lot of the ones on the top ten most wanted list, including the number one guy, Osama Bin Laden. We also know the threat from the different radical terrorist groups and organizations is getting worse all over the world. Your self-styled attacks, as criminal as they may have been, helped us uncover and stop some very large plots against our people, just like the one in Florida you uncovered. We realize we’re at the tip of the iceberg with this thing.”
Doug was getting a little louder when he said, “We need to stop them from coming across our border from Mexico and Canada. We have almost 2,000 miles of our border that connects to Mexico and 4,000 miles that connect to Canada and they just keep coming through without much resistance. We have long stretches of both borders that are not very populated and not regularly patrolled, accept for aircraft from above. There should be no doubt in anyone's mind that several terrorist groups have already crossed our southern border. Drug cartels like Sinola and MS 13 are coming into the United States in great numbers and they’re bringing terrorist sleeper cells with them. The cartels themselves, are also involved in Middle Eastern terrorist groups. The Sanchez Peredes cartel supply arms to the Hamas and are tied to the al-Qaeda and Hezbollah organization. Most of the illegal immigrants that cross over into the United States live quiet lives in ethnic communities where no one knows exactly how they got into our country or what their motives are. The terrorists could be living right next door to you and you’d never know it. There are currently over 20,800 Americans and non-Americans permanently living in the United States who are believed to be known or suspected terrorists." * Doug continued his outrage as he said, "We should find out who they are and eliminate as many of them as we can before they get a chance to attack us. At the very least, we should deport them.”
