“Stop it while you’re ahead, little one.” I know that voice. Sebastian. “We have much to discuss. You!” He says looking at my mother. “Stop it. Touch her one more time and I will rip your head off.”
“Get off me! Now!” I said. He chuckles and lets me go.
“Feisty, as usual. Now, let’s get this going. I have plans to follow through on.” He states.
Shay how long will it take for them to get here! We’re running out of time!
I must buy the guys more time. “What are these plans you speak of? Planning on taking out one of the strongest wolves there is and taking his mate as your own?” It came out as a question, but I already knew the answer.
“Smart and feisty. Looks like I got the better sister. Sorry, Cole.” He says to his brother.
“You don’t get anything. I will never be here and when Levi gets here, you’ll wish you never crossed him or me!” He didn’t like that answer.
“You will do as I say and be as I want you to be. Do you understand me? I will be the one to kill your precious mate and I will be the one to be King and you will rule beside me as it was promised to me when I was only a pup. Now, you shut that pretty little mouth of yours before I make you.” He sneered in my face. This guy is really getting on my last nerve. If he thinks I’m going down without a fight he has another thing coming.
“You really think you’re strong enough to take him on? You are delusional. Nothing will ever happen with us because you, my dear, will be rotting in the ground along with your father and your brother.” He growled at that and I smirked at him. I’m getting under his skin.
They should be getting close Willow. Keep him going.
“And what exactly will happen with your brother when you ‘succeed’ with your plan? Is he going to be your little bitch like normal? I’ll tell you what. If you win against my mate I will rule beside you, but you will NEVER touch me, and we will never have anything other than the Kingdom and I get to make sure you hurt no one who I think shouldn’t be hurt.” He laughed.
“Think what you may sweetheart, but you’ll come around eventually. Now, let’s get to how you and your sister are going to help with this plan. You two will blind-side the Alpha and Beta by telling them that you reject then. Which will in turn weaken them enough to be killed.” At this, I had to laugh.
“You really think that it will be that easy? You’re delusional.” I didn’t get to finish my speech because a bang and bodies were hitting the floor outside. “Looks like your time is up. The rescue team is here, and it will be the end for all of you.” I can’t help but laugh. They all look taken aback, but not for long.
“What the fuck did you do! How did they know they were here! No one knows where this place is, and it should stay that way.” My dad yells at my mom.
“Oh, daddy, scared?” I smirk and he lunges at me. He grabs me by the neck and squeezes, but not enough to make it hard to breathe.
“Listen you little brat. We’re going to change the plan. Cole, grab Shay. We’re going out there. They won’t hurt us if we got the girls. Their precious mates.” He says as he tosses me to Sebastian who wraps his arm around my neck and Cole does the same to Shay and we head to the door.
“Open the door, little one. Don’t try anything stupid or I’ll make sure you end your mate, even if I have to force you.” Sebastian sneers in my ear.
“Is that right? You don’t know me very well do you? I don’t take orders. I give them.” I open the door and immediately jam my elbow in his side hearing the crack of broken bones. He loosens his grip enough for me to rear my head back into his face breaking his nose. “Levi! It’s a blindside!” I yell as I see him coming up to the door along with Ryder and Jason. Before I can get to them Sebastian is back and has me back in a chokehold.
“You’re going to wish you never did that.” He said.
“Let them go! That is an order from your King.” Levi says. “Mr., and Mrs. Thompson. What are you doing here?”
“They were helping them. My dad is the boss that everyone is talking about.” I say. “They wanted us to reject you and kill you and take the throne.” Sebastian squeezes harder on my neck.
“Shut up, bitch. I can snap your neck quicker than you can get away.” He sneers. That’s when all hell broke loose.
CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE: SURPRISE
There is one thing that you never do in front of an Alpha or any mated wolf, and that is threatening the life of their mate. Once Sebastian threatened to snap my neck, Levi lost it. He let out a growl that was louder than I have ever heard before. He was pissed and I could do nothing to calm him. It wasn’t like I wanted to because of the situation that I was in. I wanted to end this, but I also wanted answers and I think that we deserve it. “Levi, we need to keep my parents alive. We need answers.” My words were going through one ear and out the other. He was seeing red and he was having a stare-down with Sebastian while Ryder was trying to get Shay. I blocked everyone else out except for Levi and the ass that was holding me like a human shield. I shouldn’t have said what I did next because it only seemed to make things worse. “So, are you that scared of Levi that you have to use me as a shield?” In my defense, I thought he would let me go, but I was sorely mistaken. He just tightened his hold. There was no way that Levi could get to him without me getting hurt in the process. The others were cleaning the house and taking out my dad's wolves and eventually, it was just my parents, Sebastian, and Cole that were still alive on the opposing side. We had some injured, but thankfully none are dead.
“I’d shut that pretty little mouth if you know what is good for you.” Sebastian said and Levi took a threatening step towards him. “Ah, I wouldn’t do that if I were you. I can easily take her out faster than you can get to me. Are you willing to lose your mate and your pup?”
“You touch a hair on her head, and it will be the last thing you do.” Levi sneered, taking another step closer. He has a plan. I can sense it. I just wonder what it is. I know he’s keeping Sebastian distracted, but why? What does this man have planned?
Baby girl, when I tell you to, I need you to elbow him as hard as you can and duck down. Levi told me through mind-link. So, he does have a plan. I look around and two of the warriors have my parents subdued and are taking them out of the building. “Let her go and I’ll make your death quick and painless.” Levi told him. I don’t know how, but Ryder managed to get Shay out of Cole’s grasp, and then there was a thump as his body hit the ground. Someone killed him. Probably Ryder. I mean he did have a threatening hold on Shay, but how did you manage to do it without alerting Sebastian?
“COLE! WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO TO MY BROTHER!” Sebastian roars.
Now Willow! I do what Levi told me to and elbow Sebastian as hard as I can on the side that I broke some ribs on before. He loosened his hold just enough for me to hunch down while Levi launch at him, ripping his head from his shoulders. I was free and Sebastian didn’t even have time to notice what was happening. I didn’t think Levi was that strong. I mean, I knew he was strong but strong enough to rip someone’s head clean off? The rage must have tied into the strength. The next thing I know, I’m in Levi’s arms and he is leading me out of the building. “Are you okay baby girl? How’s the baby?”
“I’m better now. I’m not sure how the baby is. He hasn’t moved in a while. I was drugged for a week! Oh my, what if they did something to cause the pup harm? How did I not notice that he wasn’t moving? Oh, my Goddess, Levi!” I’m starting to panic. What if something is wrong with the baby? What kind of mother am I not to notice?
“You need to calm down Willow. Breath for me. In. Out. There you go baby. I have the Pack Doctor on standby and as soon as we get back we will get everything checked out. I’m sure he or she is fine. Just keep calm. Please.” Levi is calm, but I can feel his panic as well. What if something happened? I’m going to kill my parents. They not only put me in danger, but they endangered my pup and there’s one thing you don’t due to a mother and that is putting her
children in harm's way.
“I’m going to kill them both. I want answers, but I want them to suffer! They did this. If anything is wrong with our pup I’m going to make sure they die a slow and painful death. Parents or not. They crossed the wrong pregnant she-wolf.” I said as we got into the vehicle. We got back to the Kingdom in a matter of minutes. Levi clearly broke many traffic laws, but he didn’t care, and quite frankly, neither did I. I need to know if my baby is okay.
Once we make it back to our territory Levi pulls up to the pack hospital and we rush inside and as he said, the doctor was ready. We were taken back to a room and I laid on the bed and the doctor got the ultrasound machine. “Alright, let’s check on this little one, and then we’ll check on the mama.” The doctor said. He put the gel on my stomach after I pulled my shirt up and started moving the wand around. “Alright, everything is fine with the first pup…” He starts to say. Wait, the first pup! “The second pup is being a little stubborn, but all seems well with it as well. Now, let’s look at the third.”
“Wait! What! Three! When were you planning on telling us? Levi! Three! How?” I exclaimed. We just figured it was one. We haven’t really looked. When we found out and went to the doctor they just did bloodwork to confirm the pregnancy. I look at Levi and he looks pale. He’s as shocked as I am.
“Yes, you are having triplets, Luna. Alpha. Would you two like to know the sexes? The babies look just fine. The drugs didn’t do any damage to them. However, I want you to take it easy and rest a lot. I want to make sure that you don’t have any side effects of the drug that you were injected with. You have about four months left. If it were just one pup, you would roughly have five months left, but twins and triplets tend to develop and decide to come into the world faster. It’s weird, I know, but it’s just how it works. Now, about the sexes of the pups.” The doctor says. It’s too much information. I’m having triplets. I was worried about handling one baby, but now three!
“Yes, what are they?” Levi speaks up, finally.
“Alright, let’s see what we have here. The first pup looks to be a boy. The second is a girl and the third is also a boy. Congratulations to you both. I will let you two process this information and Luna before you leave, I want you to get some bloodwork done to make sure everything with you is okay. You have three healthy pups and they need their mama to be strong and healthy as well.”
“Thank you, doctor.” Levi said. He turned to me after the doctor left. “We’re having triplets. Baby, we’re having three babies!” I can sense the excitement inside him, but I’m also terrified. We have so much to do and only a short time to complete it now. We need to get rid of the major threats, get answers from my parents, plan out the nursery.
“Levi, I’m scared shitless. We have so much to do. How are we going to take care of three babies? Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited, but I’m scared as hell. We have a lot to discuss and a little time to do so.” I say. Levi just smiles at me and helps me clean the gel off and stand up.
“We’ll figure it out baby girl, I promise. Let’s go get your bloodwork done and head to see your parents and then you are going to rest. I would say that you need to go rest while I deal with your parents, but I know you would beat the shit out of me, and quite frankly I don’t feel like getting beat.” He said with a chuckle. He’s right though, I would fight him on it and probably end up getting mad and hitting him upside the head a few times. It takes about five minutes to get my bloodwork finished and then we are headed to the dungeon where the cells are kept.
CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR: ANSWERS
“Are you sure you want to do this Wills? I don’t want you stressing out more than what you already are. We have three pups to worry about now. I was worried when it was just one, but now there are higher risks that come with having more than one. I want you to be completely sure. I don’t want you to stress yourself out or do anything too strenuous. You know the doctor said you need to take it easy. I don’t want us to go through anything that we can prevent happening.” He knows I’m not backing down from this and I understand where he’s coming from, but I need him to understand I need to do this. For me, for my sister, for my family. I can’t let this go.
“Levs…please, just let me do this. I need to do this. I need to know why they did this to us. I need to know why they wanted to not only put me in danger but Shay and our babies as well. I can’t let this slide. I need to get these answers. If it gets to be too much, I promise I will back down. I won’t let anything happen to our pups and you should know this. Honestly, it pisses me off that you would even think that I would do anything to put them in danger.” It’s true. He may not have meant to insinuate that point, but he did.
“That’s not what I meant, and you know it. Look, I’m just worried. Can’t I be worried? You are my mate and you are carrying precious cargo. I’m sorry if I insinuated anything other than worry. I’ll make it up to you later.” He says and leans down to kiss me. “Let’s get this over with so I can get you to bed.” With that, we go down into the dungeon.
When we get down there I see that Ryder and Jason are already down there along with a few other warriors. My parents are sitting in chairs strapped down tight. The anger and hatred that I instantly feel are shown through my face. However, I can’t help but feel the love for them as my parents. What they have done is completely unforgivable, but I will always love them, even though I want them dead. “Glad you could finally join us.” My mom says breaking me out of my thoughts. I let off a growl and glare at her in a challenging way.
“I’d watch how you talk to me if I were you. You are the reason I was put in this position in the first place. We wouldn’t be here at this point if it weren’t for you and your husband's selfishness. Do you know what you could have done to me? To Shay? Or even to my pups? You put everyone I care about in danger and I want to know why. How dare you sit there and talk to me like that! Who do you think you are!” I sneer. I need to calm down. I’m letting my anger get the best of me, not that anyone would blame me, but still, it’s not good for the babies. I feel Levi’s hands lay on my hips, instantly calming me a little.
“Calm down baby girl or I’ll have to have you leave.” I scowl at him. “Don’t give me that look, Willow. You are carrying precious cargo and if you can’t keep calm enough to make sure nothing happens to them or you I will make you leave and go home. I love you, but I’m looking out for you.” He’s right, but I still don’t like that he thinks he can tell me to leave. Like that would happen. I’d have to be dragged out before I get what I came here for. “I’ll pick you up and throw you over my shoulder if I have to. I know exactly what you were thinking. Now, can you calm down enough to keep these pups from coming way too early?” I just nod and turn my attention back to my parents.
“Let’s begin.” Levi starts. “Care to explain why you kidnapped not only your daughters but you Queen and Beta Female?”
“We don’t answer to you, your highness.” My dad sneered. Levi let out a warning growl.
“Let’s try that again, shall we? What was your big plan?” Levi asks using his Alpha tone and this one my dad can’t resist. He hangs his head and shows his neck as a sign of submission as my mother does the same.
“We had a deal with King Hudson and his sons, so we were following through with it. Just because you beat him in that challenge doesn’t mean people are happy about it. You only won because he was ill and with that people are disgusted with you and, I for one wasn’t about to follow a child that thinks he can cheat the system. You are a pathetic excuse for a King, and you will never amount to half the wolf that King Hudson was! As for my darling daughter, she was promised to the eldest boy and the little bitch decided to go and find her mate and turn her back on her family when we needed it the most. Same goes with that little whore of a sister of hers.” My father spat out and I lost my composure. No one talks about my mate, sister, or myself like that. He didn’t see it coming. The shock evident in his face as my fist collides with his nose, b
reaking it in more than one place. The blood is gushing out and my mother is screaming at me to stop, but I can’t stop punching his smug face. I get a few more hits in before Levi pulls me off him.
“You bastard! How dare you. You have no right to talk about us like that! We didn’t make that deal. YOU DID! It’s not our choice when we find out mates and you know that! It’s NOT my fault you were a coward that couldn’t take care of your family, so you had to sell your daughters like we were some prostitute and you were a pimp! You disgust me!” I’m trying to fight Levi off me so I can go back for more, but he’s too strong.
“Willow! Calm down. NOW!” He’s pissed, but is he mad at me or at what my father said?
LEVI’S POV
She launched at him out of nowhere. She was just pounding into him like he was a punching bag. I’m not going to lie, it was a major turn on, but now wasn’t the time to think with my cock. I snapped out of my lust-filled haze when I heard her mother scream for her to stop. I rushed to her and pulled her off. She can’t get worked up like this. Did she not think about the consequences it could have on her life or the pups! I don’t blame her for how she reacted, but she needed to use her head and not her emotions. There is too much at risk. She’s fighting me to get back to her father. She’s strong, but I’m stronger. “Willow! Calm down. NOW!” I roared at her. She stopped fighting and started to shake. I need to get her out of here and finish this myself. She’s not going to be happy, but it needs to be done. “You need to go home and get some rest. I’ll finish this here. Don’t fight me on this. I told you what would happen if you lost it. I understand where you came from, but it’s not just you anymore. You cannot react like that. I will handle it.” If looks could kill, I’d be six feet under right now. I know I’m going to pay for this when I get home.
“No. I’m going to stay here. I need to know this. I’m sorry. I lost it. The things he said. Please, Levi.” She’s pissed, I can feel it. I can also tell that she needs this. I’d give this woman the world if she asked for it.
