She smiled, and the two of them immediately felt their bodies start to tense up, the pleasure of the situation filling them up. It was perfect, simply perfect and after a couple of moments, she felt her body start to fall asleep. They didn’t have work for the rest of the day because he managed to get them both some time off and away from people, so they wouldn’t have to answer to anyone’s bullshit. But she was thinking about the way everything had changed, the way everything went in a different direction than she had ever planned.

It was perfect, simply perfect, and she knew that she loved this. Jackie was definitely excited to see where this would all go next, but she really didn’t know what would happen. The only thing that could happen was something good, and she was happy to have Brandon by her side to achieve these things.

That day was probably one of the hardest days of their lives, but also one of the best. They found out they loved one another, and sealed away the past. After that, the rest of the time was smooth sailing, and both Brandon and Jackie were able to work together to bring the company to a whole new level.

Ruby was tried and convicted of everything that she had been convicted of, and she was sentenced to prison for life. Not that she would’ve gotten out anyways, because the restraining order was still in place, but now they had nothing to worry about, and that made them happy.

It was the start of a new life, one that they both would enjoy, and they knew that it was the best thing for them. The power of love would never stop them, and it was time for them to finally figure out what was going to happen next.

They would plan for their future, and it would be a good plan, and Jackie finally realized just what love was, and the benefits of being in love were reaped by her now, and forevermore.

  BILLIONAIRE BOSS

  DESIRE

  JULIA DOHERTY

  Chapter One

Alyssa looked at the candidates for the job that she was going for. It was for working as a high executive with attractive and billionaire boss Travis Dodson. Alyssa knew what she was going for, and she was confident about this.

She had never been so sure of herself in her life, and when she started to move over to where the area where interviews were being conducted, she felt excited about it. She knew that this job was hers, and nothing was going to stop her.

Or would that really be the case? Alyssa was damn sure that she would be able to get this job. After all, she had an MBA and has run her own business as well. It was a floral business, and it became successful.

She had the grades to prove it too, and she knew how to make a company skyrocket. But what was going through her head as well was another prospect, the prospect of possibly working with that man.

Everyone knew that Travis was not only a hot guy, but he was also one of the richest men out there. Alyssa normally didn’t care about money in a sense, but the prospect of being able to work under one of the best men out there, it was definitely something that made her excited.

She would love to have that for the purpose of a resume buildup, but if it was the perfect job, then so be it. She would love that more than anything, but she didn’t know if that was even possible.

After all, this would be one of the most coveted jobs out there, and the fact that she would be able to have a strong resume for the future made sense. Plus, this seemed like the perfect job for her because of the fact that she would be working with a bigger company.

She was known as the type who was always excelling at what she did. Alyssa worked hard at things that she did in life, and one of them was school. She never felt like there was never any reason to hold herself back from what she could achieve, and Alyssa was definitely sure of that. She was sure that she would be able to have the best job ever through this.

It was going to be amazing, but what Alyssa didn’t know was that things were about to change, and she would get a taste of something that she never felt like she would ever taste before.

  Disaster.

  Defeat.

But she didn’t know that yet. For now, Alyssa was sure that she would be getting the coveted job that she had been waiting for. But as she sat down on one of the chairs, another girl walked on by, looking at her.

“You look out of place. Too ready for this interview,” the lady said.

“Is it bad that I’m ready for this? I don’t think that it’s a crime to be ready for whatever was about to come my way. I mean it’s kind of normal,” Alyssa replied.

“Well yeah, but normally most women that come in here don’t prepare that much. You seem so proper, so perfect for the job. You might get a bad rap because of it,” the other said.

Alyssa thought that the girl was taunting her, but then again it definitely something else. Alyssa thought about everything that had happened just now. Obviously this bitch was toying with her.

“Well unlike some people, I like to be prepared. I’ve always been prepared in the past, so I’m getting ready for it now,” she replied.

“Whatever. You definitely are not what I was expecting, that’s for sure,” the other lady said.

Alyssa wanted to tell that bitch off, but the thing is, she was probably near the interview space, and the last thing that she needed was for Travis to hear her.

“Well I hope you have a great day bothering other people that are minding their own business,” Alyssa said.

The lady huffed, and walked off. But Alyssa wanted to tell her off even more, however, the door opened.

  “Alyssa Davis?” the person said.

“That’s me,” she replied. She got out of the chair and followed the man over to the interview room, sitting down and perching herself in the chair. She looked at him, smiling.

“How are you?” the man said.

“Fine, but where is Travis?” she asked.

“Oh he won’t be at the interview today. I had Ivy out there making sure everything was fine. It was surprising to hear that you were such a spitfire of a woman,” the man replied.

Shit. So that bitch was part of the interview. Alyssa started to feel a bit sick to her stomach, but she didn’t know what else to do. However, she kept her cool, knowing that it would be best to just let things go the way that they were going.

“Well I guess the cat is out of the bag. I’m Alyssa, and I have an MBA from Harvard,” she stated.

“That’s nice. Have you ever administered a business?” he asked.

“Yes a floral one. I actually made it quite successful,” she admitted.

“That’s great,” the man said in a deadpanned voice. Why wasn’t he going crazy over that sort of thing?

She thought that every future employer would be happy that she actually knew how to run a business instead of just being one of those dumb shit candidates that just walked out with their diploma. She wanted him to at least partially notice her, but the truth was, he didn’t seem to care.

  “Yeah, whatever,” he said.

  She felt frustrated.

“So what other skills do you have? Did you directly work with people?” he asked.

“No I just worked in the back, but I was a manager, so I know a lot,” she said.

“Right, that’s great. So I guess you wouldn’t be able to effectively work in this position then. Oh well,” he said.

“What do you mean?” she asked.

“We need someone with some people skills. Judging from your resume and the way that you’re talking to me, I can see that you don’t really care about anything else besides the fact that you’re a hotshot woman with some skills but not what we need.

Listen, I’m the head of interviews honey, and I don’t think you’re the right type for this sort of thing,” he stated.

Alyssa was in shock. How the fuck could this happen? She thought that she would be the perfect person for the ob. But then again, apparently she wasn’t.

“Whatever. I’ll leave now,” she replied.

“We’ll keep you on file though,” the man said.

She walked out, and the g
irl that was bothering her earlier was there.

“Good luck,” she said with a snarky comment.

“Whatever bitch,” Alyssa snapped back. The woman was about to say something, but when she turned around, she saw that the woman was looking at a guy. And when Alyssa saw the guy, she hoped to god that he didn’t hear what she just said.

She knew immediately who this was. It was the one person that Alyssa did not want to see. She turned around, and soon she came face-to-face with the boss of the company, with Travis himself.

He was not what she was expecting. He was pretty in pictures that other magazines take of him, and he was pretty in interviews, but Alyssa could tell that he had the body that was like Adonis, and he also had a beautiful face.

His dark black hair was tied loosely in a ponytail that was at the base of his neck, and he had a wary glance that was directly in her direction. He looked pissed, and Alyssa probably knew why. He probably saw her, one of the candidates, telling off one of his employees, and that wasn’t good.

“Hello there,” he said. His blue eyes hadn’t left her face, and he was almost staring as if he was trying to peek into her soul or something. It creeped Alyssa out, but she didn’t want to say anything. He was attractive, but intimidating.

  “Hello there sir,” she replied.

“You seem to love to make trouble,” he said with a cool glance. She didn’t know if he meant that as an insult, or as a compliment.

“Well sometimes trouble comes to me, or sometimes I find it. It all depends,” she replied. She was smiling at this point, and she wondered how the man would react.

To her surprise, he smiled back at her. “Well I take it you know your way out then? Or do you want me to show you?” he said.

“I can do it myself. I’m a big girl thank you very much,” Alyssa said. She was not going to be snubbed by any of these men, or that other bitch here. She was going to walk out with stride, but she noticed something in his eyes that she kind of enjoyed.

It was the fact that he was looking at her with a lustful gaze, a gaze that was unlike anything she had ever experienced before. She had to admit, it was quite the turn-on to be looked at in that way by that man, that’s for sure.

“Well, I should leave. I’ll see you around,” she said.

Before Travis could respond, Alyssa sauntered out, shaking her hips a little bit more for emphasis. She went over to the side, but hid behind one of the plants to listen to the conversation at hand.

“What an uncouth swine,” he woman said.

However, instead of an agreement from Travis something else was uttered from his mouth that was not what Alyssa was expecting to hear.

  “What’s her name?” he asked.

“Alyssa. Alyssa Davis. But there are so many better candidates than her,” the lady replied.

“Well I would like her file,” he said.

The woman let out a scoff, but then there was a set of footsteps. Alyssa heard this, and she smiled. Maybe she wasn’t out of the game yet, but she could tell that there was another portion of the game that was being played at the moment.

It was the game of interest, or something more, and Alyssa was definitely excited about this. She couldn’t wait to see where it would lead her, because she knew deep down that this was the start of something. What it was, she didn’t know, but she couldn’t wait for it.

“Yes, I can feel it now. I don’t think I’m out of the woods yet, so I’ll see where this takes me,” she told herself. She then went to the car, heading back other place.

She would check up on the flower shop, and she would try to figure out what to do next. However, Alyssa was definitely feeling good about this, and she couldn’t wait to see just what might happen next.

  Chapter Two

When she got home, she got a call from her best friend Gina. When she picked it up, she could practically hear the screaming fan girl on the other one.

“Oh my god how did it go?” she asked Alyssa, not even greeting her.

“Settle down will you? I think it went okay,” she told her friend.

“So you did get it?” the other asked.

Alyssa sighed. She loved Gina to death and all, but the thing is, the woman was definitely jumping to conclusions that weren’t fitting for this.

“I don’t think so. I mean, I apparently want qualified enough for the job, but I don’t know. I think Travis assumes otherwise, but we only had a brief exchange. They made it seem like the one doing the interview was him, but it was actually some other guy. He was kind of an ass,” she told Alyssa.

“That blows. I mean, did you at least make an impression before you left?” she asked Alyssa.

Alyssa laughed. Oh she did all right. She knew deep down that the man was probably trying to gauge how to deal with this sort of thing. Alyssa was sire that she at least got a bit of attention, but what might happen, she didn’t really know.

“I don’t know. I think he liked me, but I don’t know if I’m right for the job. I don’t know, I guess I’ll just wait and see what happens next,” she told her friend.

“I wouldn’t let it get you down. I mean, you’re still running the floral business, right? I don’t think he’s just going to let you get away. I mean, you’re definitely a strong candidate for this sort of job, so I don’t see why he was acting like that,” she told her friend.

“Probably because he had to. I mean, I gave him my information, and he said that he would contact me, but you know how that sort of thing is,” Alyssa said. She didn’t think that she would get it, but little did she know that she was going to be going in a completely different direction than what she was expecting.

“Well I can only hope for the best. Good luck Alyssa, and I hope you get it,” the other replied.

She thanked her friend and hung up, trying to cope with the thoughts that she had. She wanted that job more than anything else and she felt like she was perfectly fucking qualified for the job, but those assholes that were running things apparently thought otherwise.

Maybe they would get themselves fired, because Alyssa thought that she was good enough.

At least, that’s what she assumed. Her business was run remotely, and she didn’t deal with customers now, but in the past she used to be the sole provider of everything and anything for the business, and it made her learn a lot.

She was going to say that to the man, but apparently he didn’t care if she ran her business remotely or not. She felt bad that she got completely snubbed by assholes like that.

“Do I really want to work with bastards like that though?” she asked herself. If she were the boss, she would’ve fired their backside a long time ago, that’s for sure. Oh what she wouldn’t give to be able to do that right now, especially to those two.

She felt like maybe that was what was holding the company back. They definitely were not what she was expecting when she would meet the head of the company’s other workers. They were all too mean, too uncouth, and apparently thought that she was unqualified.

Oh well, she wasn’t going to let it bother her. At least she got her name out. She still had her other business, but the fact that she would have to give up this opportunity because of the way that they looked and regarded her pissed her off to no end. Ugh, it just wasn’t fair.

But then, she started to see some changes. The next couple of days were very weird, because she would see the same guy with almost the same fucking outfit show up to her shop every single day. He said that he was getting flowers for his boyfriend, which didn’t bother Alyssa at all. Business was business, regardless of gender ad sexual orientation.

The guy was very happy with the way that she treated him, and the two of them did talk a lot. He did ask a lot about the business, and she told him various points of it.

He actually seemed interested, which was a first for her, because she was so used to people just coming in, getting their flowers, and then leaving. It was a nice break from the normal.

  But what seemed abnor
mal was the fact that she was able to see that guy every single day she was in there, which was pretty much every single day.

She was happy to have him around, but then again, she wondered what might come about next. She was definitely getting curious as to why this guy kept coming here, but then, the answer showed up, and boy did it show up.

Her assistant Nell was getting some of the flowers arranged.

“I wonder if that guy will be here today,’ she asked Alyssa.

“I doubt it. I mean, it’s been five days straight. Unless his boyfriend really likes my flowers, I don’t think I’ll be seeing him that much,” she told her assistant.

“You never know Alyssa. He might just end up coming in here for the rest of his life,” Nell replied.

“Yes, he does like the flowers. I saw him give them to his boyfriend yesterday, and the result was adorable. Thank you for that Alyssa,” a deep voice said.

No way. That can’t be him. But she recognized that voice as the one she heard the week before, when she went for her interview. But there was no way in hell that a billionaire like him would come to her shop.

Then again, it was an entrepreneurial endeavor, so maybe he heard about her. But then again, Alyssa didn’t know for sure if it was he or not.

When she turned around, she gasped. In the flesh, in front of her, was him. It was Travis, and he was smiling at her.

  “Travis,’ she breathed.

“Hello their Alyssa. My assistant was very happy with the flowers from your place. Also, he wants to hook up your assistant with a friend of his. He thinks you two would be great together,” the man said.

She looked at Ivy, who was flushing.

“Thank you,” Nell breathed. She was probably at a loss for words. Most women were when they saw this man here.

“You’re very welcome my dear. But that’s not why I’m here. I actually came to talk to your boss. Alyssa, would you be okay with coming with me? I have a personal matter to discuss with you,” he said.
