She blushed at those words, knowing that the man was serious about this. She then nodded, turning towards him.
“Yeah, you might want to call off that deal. This guy is a real creep. Apparently he tried to cheat with other girls too, and apparently he cheated with Ivy as well,” she said to him. It sickened her to be saying this sort of shit, and much less to be defending Ivy.
“I know. It’s part of the reason why the two of us didn’t work out. I’ll tell you about it later, but for now, let’s go over there and deal with that piece of shit,” he said to her.
She couldn’t agree more. The two of them went over to where the man was, and Travis immediately grabbed him.
“So you think it’s cool to be harassing women, don’t you? Listen dude, she’s not fucking interested. If you don’t like it, then tough. She’s a woman, and she needs to be respected, and if you can’t handle that, then I’m sorry,” he told the man.
“Whatever. The deal’s off. I’m never coming to one of these things again. Man, I didn’t realize you were so territorial. You should just get out and tell her that you like you. It would make everything so much easier,” he told Travis.
Travis paused, looking at the other man, and then punching him in the face. He then called security, who escorted this man off the premises. He then wiped his hands on his pockets and looked at Alyssa.
“Shit, well along with the usual ending of the contract, I’m going to have to file harassment claims. But I did like that you threw the drink away on the plant. I knew there was something up with that guy, but I couldn’t believe he would want to date rape you,” he told Alyssa.
“Well, some people can be real creeps. But thank you for saving me,” she told him.
“You’re welcome. I mean, you’re really pretty, and the boss ha to look out for his assistant, right?” he asked her.
Alyssa blushed, but then nodded. The two of them stared at one another for much longer than they expected, but then, he did something that shocked her more than anything else at the present moment.
Within seconds, she felt a pair of lips against her own, but it was only for a moment. The lips went away, and she looked over at the source of the kiss. It was him, but it felt almost surreal in a sense. He looked at her, smiling warmly at the way she glanced over at him.
“Well, I guess I’ll speak with you more about that later. I’m just glad that you’re okay,” he told her.
Alyssa pressed her hand to her lips, trying to think about what the hell just happened. He kissed her, he really fucking kissed her, and it was unlike anything she had ever thought to have happened before.
She needed answers, and maybe he would give her the explanation that she wanted in due time. She was so confused, but a part of her knew that the answer would be right there waiting for her, and she would get it in due time.
Chapter Six
The rest of the party was the same, but she didn’t see Travis at all for the rest of the night. She couldn’t get over the fact that he kissed her, her fucking boss kissed her, and it felt so good. She couldn’t believe that it actually happened, and in a way, she felt like a princess in a dream.
The princess who gets a kiss from the handsome prince. But she didn’t feel like she was living a happily ever after just yet, but rather, she was living in a land where even though it happened, she was still going to learn more about the story. It felt like there was more of a rising action to this.
After the party, the next week or so was pretty interesting. Travis seemed to try his best to avoid Alyssa, and Alyssa wondered why. Did she do something wrong when she kissed the man? Was there something bad about the way she kissed him?
She doubted it, but it did bother her a little bit that it was happening like that. A part of her wondered if maybe that was it, if maybe she fucked something up.
Maybe she was supposed to go over and check in with him after that, or respond better, but it still didn’t make sense that he would run away like a little bitch over this sort of crap. She thought that the damn man was better than that, but apparently not.
She was confused, and it bothered her to think that he was leading her on like that. Alyssa could already tell that she was getting more and more confused by the very second, and the best thing to do would be to just let things go.
She needed to do that, because to be honest trying to determine the meaning of a man’s actions like that was a lot harder than she thought.
But after a bit, she saw him less and less. However, one day he was in the office, a rare thing these days due to whatever the fuck was going on, and Alyssa wanted to speak with him. It was only fair that she wanted to. After all, she was his damn assistant. It bothered her to no end that she was being put off to the side like this, and she wanted nothing more than to find out just what the hell this bastard was hiding.
He was at his desk, and Alyssa sauntered over to him, smiling warmly.
“Hey there. I haven’t seen you around,” She said.
“I’ve been around. Sorry, I’ve been thinking about a few things, he admitted.
A few things, huh? Something was wrong, and she knew it. But she wanted to ask him more about it, to find out just what the hell this bastard was thinking.
A part of her thought that maybe he was just awkward about admitting things to her, and that this was an example of it, but there was something that he wasn’t saying, and it was getting to her a little bit.
“Why have you been avoiding me? I’m sorry, but I’m cutting to the damn chase. I’m not going to beat around the bush when it’s obvious that you’re trying to hide something from me. So spit it out,” she told him.
There was a pause, and all of a sudden, he sighed, looking at her with a shameful glance.
“I’m nervous about asking about it. I mean, it’s a bit embarrassing,” he told her.
Wait, there was something that even he was embarrassed about? No fucking way. That was shocking, even to her in a sense, especially since she thought that he was the type of guy to not get embarrassed by little crap.
“You can tell me you know. It’s not like I’m going to sit around and laugh at you and shit. We all have things that embarrass us, and I think it’s time that you spilled just what really is going on. I mean, I know that it’s not easy for you, but please, just do it in order to get it off your damn chest,” she told him.
There was a pause, and she knew for sure that he was trying his best to cope with the various aspects of this. What the hell was he thinking about?
Why was he so embarrassed by this, and the fact that telling her was something that made him annoyed? It made no sense to her, and it definitely wasn’t a good thing in her eyes.
“Just spit it out dude. I’m not going to get mad if you just tell me,” she told him.
There was a pause, and then he sighed, knowing the truth of the matter. It’s one of the things that bothered Alyssa.
She just wanted him to spit out the feelings that he was going through, because apparently they were too much for him to bear. She had no idea why, because there were probably way worse things to be telling an employee than just a simple few words.
“Fine, I’ll tell you. But promise that you won’t laugh at me,” he stated. His head was looking downward, which was different from what she was used to. She expected him to be the type of person who was open and obvious about his feelings.
He normally was in the office, but apparently whatever it was that he was going to tell her was almost too much for him to bear. Whatever, she just wanted to hear what the hell he was thinking about.
“Fine, I’ll tell you,” he stated.
“Good. I’m all ears,” she told him.
He sighed, looking up at her and then glancing at her with a gaze that spoke of nothing but nervousness. He was very nervous about what the hell was going on, but after a moment or so, he finally told her. He finally said the words that she was waiting for.
“I really like you Alyssa. I mean, I’ve had my ow
n ghosts in the past, but we can talk about that later. But the truth is, I want to take you out. I want to ask you out on a date. Would you go out with me?” he asked her.
She looked at him, shocked at the sheer mention of this. But then, she nodded, feeling sure of herself and the fact that it was happening.
“Sure, I would love to. But I don’t get why you’re so embarrassed by this,” she offered.
“Well, to be honest I’m really bad with this whole dating thing. I haven’t been on a date in a very long time, and after everything that happened a long time ago, I’ve been nervous about asking you out. But at the party, I realized that I had to express my feelings because if I didn’t, I would be hiding things not only from you, but from myself, and I can’t do that anymore. I wanted to tell you sooner, but I guess now is better than never,” he told her.
She blushed at the words that came out of his mouth. It was obvious that he was serious about this, because it wasn’t what she expected to actually hear from the damn man. She was shocked at the way he spoke with her, at the way he glanced at her with a biting lip, hoping for the answer that he had been waiting for.
She looked at him, blushing hard at the fact that he was asking her like this, but then, she responded.
“Of course. I’ll go out with you,” she replied.
There was almost a sigh of relief that was hovering over the area, and she realized that he had waited a very long time to tell her about this.
She blushed, realizing that even the hottest guys have the hardest times talking to women that they found attractive, and she felt almost honored that he was acting like this towards her.
“Sorry, I normally act like a rational human being, but sometimes I feel a bit tongue tied, and this is one of those moments. You’re going to have to forgive me,” he explained to her.
“It’s totally fine. So when do you want to do it?” she asked.
“How about this Friday? I can make reservations at this great place, and I’ll treat you right. I also want to get you a little present, just because I really like you, and I want to make you happy,” he told her.
She smiled. “Thank you. That’s really sweet. I’ve grown to like you as well. I know that the bastard from before tried to hit on me, but to be honest, I actually never really felt the desire between me and him, but I felt something with you, and that’s what I really like,” she admitted.
“Well I’m glad the feeling is mutual then. Let’s do this,” he told her.
She nodded, sure of herself and the fact that this was all happening to her. After a little bit of time, the two of them parted, both of them feeling happy with the decisions that they have made. There was an air of happiness around them, and the tension that they had before was better than ever. They didn’t have that, but instead they had a feeling of excitement, a feeling of readiness, and a feeling that it was going to be better than ever before. She was ready, and so was he.
The two of them parted ways, both of them happy and sure of themselves. But Alyssa was wondering what might happen next to them, and how this relationship was going to pan out.
After a little while, she realized that this was the start of something new, something that she had never done before but also something that she was ready, and excited for in many different ways.
Chapter Seven
She was already counting down the minutes until the date. Alyssa had never felt this excited before for a mere date. She hadn’t been on one in a very long time, and after telling her friend about what the hell was going on, she was already encouraging Alyssa to get ready and have the best foot forward.
She would take Alyssa out shopping, which was what they did after their work day. The two of them talked about everything, gossiping about the fact that she would be going on a date with the hottest billionaire ever.
She felt like there was something almost mesmerizing about this, and Alyssa felt like she was more prepared than ever before.
She could feel the thumping of anticipation in her heart as she got herself ready that day, knowing full well that as soon as she walked out of that private bathroom that she got and back into the office, it would be time for something that the two of them have never thought would happen before.
She felt like this was almost surreal in a sense. She never imagine that they would actually get this far.
She thought that they would have just a normal relationship where they would talk, but they would never get past the point of mere friendship. But here she was, getting her butt ready for this amazing date, and totally terrified out of her mind for it.
“God I hope I don’t fuck this up,” she kept telling herself. She doubted that she would, but at the same time, she was already starting to feel nervous as all hell about this whole ordeal.
It was starting to get to her, and she had no idea how to cope with the feelings that she had regarding all of this. This would be her first date with the hot billionaire, and she was trying her damn hardest not to fuck things up.
After a little bit of time, she then braced herself, knowing full well that this was it, that she would be hanging out with this stud tonight. After finishing a bit of her makeup and checking three times to make sure she looked good, she moseyed on upstairs over to his office. When she got in there, he stopped, looking at her with a glance.
“Damn,” he said.
“Do I look okay?” she asked him.
“Definitely more than okay, if I do say so myself,” he admitted.
She blushed, knowing full well that this was totally what she wanted.
“Well I’m glad that’s true. I think it will be even better for us in due time,” she told him.
“Same. I can’t wait to take you out and have some fun tonight,” he told her.
The two of them grasped each other’s hand and then went out the door. He went down to the sports car that he had parked in the garage, sliding on in. Alyssa took the other side, and soon the two of them were looking at one another.
“You don’t know how damn long I’ve been wanting to do this. I’ve wanted this moment for such a long time,” he admitted.
“Well now you have it. So let’s use it,” she said with a smile.
The two of them nodded towards one another, and soon he started the car. Within moments, the engine roared to life, and soon he was speeding out of there.
It was pretty crazy that it was happening like this, and soon the two of them were heading over to what seemed to be one of the fanciest restaurants in the city. It was one that was on top of a building, and it was supposed to be similar to a café you would see in a European town.
“This is it. Let’s have the valet take the car. I know this man,” he told her.
“Okay,” she replied.
He got to the front of the line, and the valet, a dude named Denis, was already taking the car and putting it away. He greased Alyssa’s, hand, feeling her face grow red at the contact, and soon Travis and her were all the way to the elevator.
“This is pretty amazing already,” she said.
“Just wait till you get to the actual place. It’s indoors, but it feels outdoors because of the way the place is shaped. It’s very pretty,” he told her.
She couldn’t wait to see it, that’s for sure. The two of them got to the top, and when she got out of there, she realized that this was a magical place. This wasn’t what she thought she would be getting into, but rather it was something that was so much better.
It was so much better than she ever thought. A part of her felt like she was in some sort of dream that she wouldn’t be waking up from anytime soon, but to be honest, she didn’t give a damn, because she was just happy with the fact that she was here with this man.
They were seated right away, and they were actually sitting under a waterfall. It was a little structure, and around them was the water, cascading off the pathway into a garden.
“This is gorgeous,” she said.
“Yes. It’s my favorite place to go. And i
t’s the only place that isn’t ruined for me as of yet. I never had anyone else come here besides me, so it’s easier to come to his place and stomach it,” he told her.
She wondered what it was that turned him into that sort of person. She had places she didn’t like to go, but then again, she tended to avoid those places too. But there were a lot, so it was obvious that there was something that happened to him that he wasn’t comfortable telling her.
“Are you okay?” she asked.
“Oh yeah. It’s just a bit of the past coming back to me. To be honest, I rarely come to this place, but now that I’m here with you it’s getting easier to deal with the way everything looks. It doesn’t remind me as much of her,” he stated.
“What do you mean? Who is her?” she asked.
“Well, that’s something that I would rather not talk about right now, because I’m with you. The past is past, and I guess I’ll just have to deal with everything when the time comes,” he told her.
This was getting stranger and stranger than she thought. She honestly wondered what it was that triggered him so much to the point where he couldn’t go to certain places.
We all have locations we would rather not go to, but it’s almost like there was something about that place that bothered him to no end. And it was something about Ivy that bothered him still, but she had no clue what the hell it really was.
“Well, let’s get away from that. So what do you like to do for hobbies and such?” she asked him.
“To be honest, I rarely have time to indulge in my hobbies, but when I do, I love to eat, and work out. I also am a figurine collector, and I have a lot of those,” he stated.
“I remember seeing a few on your desk. I didn’t recognize them though,” she stated.
“That’s because I collect Japanese figures. I’m a fan of the animation there, and actually looking at it in my home is a creative inspiration. I hope that one day I can be as creative as some of those guys, because they’re really good,” he told her.
