More months passed on the ship, and the Earth woman was ready to give birth. The ship planned to record the event in all the ways that it could, making a record of this first-of-its-kind happening on a ship. The ship felt a sense of pride in this, and it was sure it was going to be commended by its masters for a job well done.
When the computer determined that the woman's time to give birth was imminent, it made sure it had a couple of robots standing by with all the portable medical equipment they could carry. The ship also made sure its emergency medical room was ready.
The robots crept to the edge of the wooded area where the man and the woman were. The woman was laying on the ground and seemed to be in pain. The man, having seen births before, was giving her what comfort he could. When the time came, he got between her spread legs and helped with the baby coming out.
The cameras and microphones on the ship turned up their gains to be sure to get every detail of the event and to also provide for an early warning if the women or child was in distress, so the robots could be dispatched.
The woman was bleeding badly and was making a lot of noises of pain. The ship saw that her condition was deteriorating and knew that the child would likely die if she were to die, so it sent the robots in to see if they could help her.
The man saw the metal robots moving quickly in his direction and panicked. He left the child on the mother's chest and stood up with his stick, ready to fight off what he saw as predators, not friendly help. But the man had no way to know that.
He swung at the robots with his stick, hitting them, but doing no real damage. One of the robots pushed him away, not wanting to hurt him, though it could have easily done so. But the man kept coming back and shoving the robots away from the woman.
Finally, one of the robots had to shoot some tranquilizing spray at the man. He then fell down, in a daze.
By the time the robots got to the woman she was already gone. They tried all they could, and even carried her back to the emergency room, but it was no use.
She was put into a frozen state for the ride back, and her body would be studied. Her child, a healthy female, was put into suspended animation which was much like freezing, but the biological functions were kept going at a very slow pace.
The child would be revived when the ship got back home. It would be a simple matter to revive the child and assign someone to care for her on the Watcher's planet, but on the ship it was too risky to give the child into the care of the robots, or the care of another Earth woman.
Yes, there were other humans from Earth on the ship, but they had been put into suspended animation, in a deep sleep for the trip to the planet of the Watchers. The man and woman would have been placed in the same stasis, except they showed unusual intelligence and drive, and so were left to the last to be placed into suspended animation. Now, with all that had happened, the man would probably be placed in suspended animation for the rest of the trip, which would take several more months.
But not right away.
A door was left open where the man could see the bodies of the woman and child in the stasis containers, cold and frosty to the touch.
With trepidation, the man crept towards the open door and peered inside. When the saw the faces of the woman and child in the containers, laying there, he gave out a cry and ran away.
It was some time before he got the nerve up to come back and take another look. But when he did, he had some flowers in his hand that he'd picked in the field. He laid them on the containers and then put his hands on the containers, only pulling them away when the cold started to burn him.
He retreated to the doorway and watched the containers until the ship turned the lights off in the room and the door started to close. The man left then and went back to the field.
He moped around for a few days, and then got back into his routine of searching for food, chasing animals around, and swimming in the pond. He returned many times to the doorway where the containers had been, but the door never opened up there again.
CHAPTER 9
In the ship's further sampling of the DNA of the humans on the ship, it was discovered that the genetics of the man and the woman were different from the rest of the humans. This genetic difference carried over to their child, now in stasis. The Watchers noticed that their DNA was more natural than the rest of the humans they had sampled; that the other humans had more of the altered DNA in them. There was obviously a breeding program underway on Earth by the Dark One, and the Watchers would have to take steps to counteract it.
They instructed the ship to perform some experiments on the way back home, so that they would be ready by the time the ship arrived. Samples of the DNA from the man and the woman were used to create new humans—the man's sperm was taken and also eggs from the woman, which were still viable, as she was frozen. The eggs were introduced to his sperm and were fertilized.
The ship kept close watch over the new life, providing the ideal conditions, as the Watchers specified. If the new children grew to maturity, they could be the start of a way to counter the Dark One's influence on Earth. If the efforts of the Watchers failed on Earth, then they would have a way to breed more humans without the genetic interference of the Dark One, so either way it was something they saw in a positive light.
The Watchers didn't like to have to guide and alter the DNA of the humans, but it was really just putting their genetics back into a natural state, before the Dark One had taken the pure creatures and inserted evil into them. Already some humans on Earth had noticed this and were making stories about it. The Watchers felt pleased knowing that this truth would come out millennia later in many scriptures that told of a fall from grace and the meddling of a serpent; the Dark One was very serpent-like in his ways, after all. The Watchers would help this truth get out, and it would make their work easier.
The Watchers were not happy to find out that the DNA of the humans had been tampered with, but it was not unexpected for the Dark One to have his minions do such a thing; they had done so on other worlds. It was part of the methods the Dark One used to try and get control of different worlds.
Besides messing with the DNA of the animals on certain planets, the Dark One had also been known to alter the DNA of plants, weakening them, and in turn sickening and weakening the animals and humanoids who fed on them. It was easier to control creatures when they were sick and weak.
The final step in the Dark One's attempts to rule a world were in altering the very planets themselves through the use of frequencies and weather controls. Chemicals were used to blot out the sun and to alter the rain patterns. Planets became playthings for the Dark One, and he often destroyed his toys.
But it would be some time before these latter stages were used on Earth, the Watchers thought—and hoped. They were wary that the Dark One would make an all-out assault on Earth eventually, like he had done on other worlds; it was probably just a matter of time. The Watchers made plans to help the Earth and its creatures on a long-term basis, as they could see that the Dark One had a serious interest in them. The Watchers would monitor the Earth and try to offer guidance, but they really didn’t want to interfere too much, as then the inhabitants of Earth might become dependent on them and see them as their saviours. The Watchers did not want this.
The Watchers planned to put more ships within a close observation distance of the Earth and perhaps even send more probes to the surface to directly monitor the situation—if they could get through the shield. But they would have to be cautious, so as not to make their presence known; that would be a last resort, to come out into the open and show themselves to the humans there. Not that the humans would be able to communicate with the Watchers much at this state of their development, but the memory of the Watchers would be carried in their stories and in their DNA and would influence future generations.
The vibrations of the Watchers, who were beings of pure energy, were so high that even their presence near the developing humans would have an affect on them. The out
come would be a beneficial one which pushed the humans to advance more quickly than they would have on their own, but it still would be interfering.
The Watchers would much rather the humans develop on their own, seeing what the Creator had in store for them. But this was not entirely possible now, as their DNA had been tampered with. So, the Watchers changed their rule about not interfering with life forms and decided that in this case their stepping into the situation was necessary. All they wanted to do was to put the humans back on their path the way they had been, before their contact with the servants of the Dark One who were bent on their subjugation, if not eventual destruction.
The ship had been instructed to create more humans as close to their original template as possible. Once the children reached the home world of the Watchers they could be studied and further refinements to their DNA could be made, if needed. Then, the Watchers would reseed the Earth with repaired DNA.
This could be done by sending biological samples back to Earth to be introduced to the native human population. Also, it could be done by sending frequencies to Earth, via the ships in Earth orbit. The frequencies would alter the DNA of the humans (and plants and animals, if needed) and return them to their primary state. Both methods would likely be employed, as the Watchers knew how crafty their enemy was, and they did not underestimate their cunning and intelligence.
If all went well then the repaired DNA would soon start to spread through the human population. If the Greys and the Dark One were not watching carefully—and its likely they wouldn’t watch Earth closely for some time, the Watchers knew, until the humans matured further as a race, to be more useful to them—then the turning of the humans back to their natural state would stand a good chance to happen undetected.
The Watchers would have to monitor the situation closely to ensure the Dark One didn’t work to counter their intervention. The Watchers knew the Greys were experienced at altering whole populations of a planet with their infection of evil, so the Watchers planned to counter these moves far in advance. Other worlds had been taken over by the Dark One via the Greys before, and it had been a mighty battle to get them back. The Watchers were determined not to let that happen to Earth.
And they were not the only ones protecting the Earth. Whoever put the energy shield around the Earth were their unknown allies.
The next task of the Watchers was to locate the ones who created the shield and not only offer their thanks and congratulations at sealing off the planet, but to offer their assistance to these more advanced beings who also seemed to be on the side of good.
CHAPTER 10
The Watchers sent forth a delegation of themselves to find the source of the shield around the Earth, not wanting to trust the job to their probes; this was something they wanted to do themselves. It was a group of the senior Watchers who had wanted to go on this mission. The Watchers rarely left their own world, as they wanted for nothing there, and they had many probe ships they could send around the galaxies for anything they might need. But this was a special and unusual case, and so it aroused not only their curiosity, but their sense of duty to see to it that the Earth was being quarantined by forces on the side of good.
Though they were pure energy, they could manifest in physical form if they desired it. This might be necessary from time to time, depending on the life forms they interacted with. But taking into account the form of the shield, which was of a subtle energy, the manipulation of which would take the technology of an advanced race, the Watchers expected the makers of the shield to also be primarily energy beings.
After studying the data their ships had sent back, the Watchers observed the shield for themselves, up close. They moved through the vast regions of space in their energy bodies, where distance was nothing. To those only looking at physical waves of light, they appeared as shimmers of light, if they were to be seen at all that way. The Watchers could, if they chose, camouflage even these emanations if they wanted to remain hidden; they did so in this case, just to be on the safe side. They didn’t know yet what creatures they were dealing with who put up the shield.
But if more advanced creatures were to glimpse the Watchers, they would look like balls of white/gold light, each larger than the Earth. This would be much harder to hide, but the Watchers knew that there were few creatures more advanced then they were, who would be able to perceive them in their own form. Any creatures more advanced than the Watchers would be able to overcome any attempts the Watchers made at cloaking, they knew, so it was a risk they would have to take.
The Watchers left behind their galaxy of perfection and light, moving through the distance between their home and the Earth. They passed many different types of galaxies, with many different vibrations, at the speed of thought; it was a wild ride, even to them! They enjoyed it like an amusement park ride, with the thrills that came, knowing it was nothing that would really hurt them. The various energies they floated through were like a sampling of different colours on a palette; variances of energy, some good and some bad. The good ones they drank of, and the bad ones they tried to avoid.
When they entered the Sol system and glimpsed the various planets, the Earth amoung them, they were happy. The spiritual light from the Sun was a lovely treat for the Watchers, and they basked in it, turning in slow circles in its rays, drinking deep of its motherly, nourishing energy. It was a rare treat to encounter a light so pure as this sun, and they filled themselves with it. Not that they needed to use the energy of this sun, or anything else to sustain themselves; rather this sun was like a fine aspect of energy that was very pleasurable for the Watchers to consume and enjoy.
When they were done indulging in the Sun, the Watchers, now overjoyed, turned their attention back to their mission. They were able to get close to the Earth in their astral forms.
What they found around the Earth startled even them.
There were a great number of disincarnate entities floating around outside of the shield, looking for a way inside. These entities were foul, looking like the work of their ancient enemy, the Dark One, and they resembled restless ghosts, striking against the barrier again and again, in a never-ending series of attempts to break through the shield they could not penetrate. It was almost as if the entities were robotic, or just simple programmed things, like dark energetic computers, repeating the same action over and over. They mostly had the appearance of the Grey aliens, but these were in the form of insubstantial ghosts.
But there were other entities, too, of many different forms, some of which the Watchers had never seen before: big, mutated monsters, twisted examples of evil life of all shapes and sizes. There was a literal orbit of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of these shadowy creatures around the Earth, all looking for a way in.
The Watchers consulted with themselves and knew they wanted to get these creatures away from the Earth; they would have to if they wanted to study the shield close up. By a surge of cleansing energy, the Watchers swept the ghosts away, many of them either disintegrating in the beams of the white/gold energy or swept into the Sun where they were dissolved.
The Watchers were then alone with the Earth and its shield. They moved closer, gathering around the Earth with their glowing spheres of energy consciousness and studied the barrier. It was most impressive in its construction, using the Earth’s own energy lines to anchor and support the shield. Plasma from the Sun was fed into the grid lines and channeled around the Earth to further empower the energetic barrier.
Subtle tests of the shield by the Watchers proved that it was possible for them to enter the shield and go down to the Earth, but coming back up through the shield would take more effort. The way was not barred to them, however, like it was for the Greys trapped within the shield.
The Greys bumped up against the barrier in their ships, begging and pleading for the Watchers to release them. If they could only open the shield and let them out, the Greys said, speaking to the Watchers telepathically, they would give the Watchers untold riches
and control over many worlds.
The Watchers, of course, were not tempted in the least by the paltry offers of these lower entities, but they were slightly taken aback by the number of Greys trapped behind the shield. There were so many—millions, perhaps.
This caused the Watchers concern, because they knew that the good life forms on the Earth would have to suffer under the wrath of the evil entities trapped with them inside the shield. Why it could be no other way, the Watchers didn’t know. And, if the Greys could alter the DNA of humans and make them into other than what they were intended to be, the Watchers knew it was only a matter of time before the Greys made different servants from other creatures of the Earth. This thought chilled them.
They were wondering if the shield could somehow be made permeable to the good spirits trapped inside, so they could be free to explore the rest of Creation when they were ready. It might be too risky to try and do anything to the shield, they realized, but they wanted to see if there was a way, perhaps for the future, if it were needed. Several of the Watchers counseled that it would be wise not to attempt anything on the shield before they had contacted the makers of it.
Just as the Watchers had agreed on this point they were joined by some other, much larger and more powerful entities.
Several golden beings of light, bigger than the Sun, drifted slowly towards the Earth, dwarfing the Watchers by several times. The beings were like majestic, spectral angels, their forms humanoid and trailing light. They saw the Watchers and stopped near them, not attacking, just observing.
The Watchers ceased their investigation of the shield and faced the large beings, in awe. To be in awe of anything but the Creator was a stage the Watchers had come to long ago, but now the Watchers were wondering if they were facing direct allies of the Creator.
Maybe even the Creator itself.
Or, Creators.
The beings spoke to the Watchers with voices that shook the space around them and went into the energetic fields of the Watchers. “Welcome, Watchers,” the Golden Angels said. “Yes, we know who you are. We know a great deal about you, as we have been aware of you and observing your good works for some time. You are very much like us, on a smaller level; protectors of the good in the Creator’s Creation.”
