“If you’re interested, we could go back to my office right now and start drawing up the papers,” he said, his pale blue eyes twinkling with humor at her reaction.

Jessa agreed, and half an hour later she was sitting in his office, unable to believe how quickly everything was happening. I really should call Greg. I hope he doesn’t get angry about me leaving my job. It’s not like I’d be leaving him; it’s just a job. Besides, we’ve been seeing so much of each other, seeing as we work together every day. Maybe that’s why he’s been acting so strangely.

Oliver sat down across from her and then smiled, before suddenly standing up again and excusing himself.

“I’m sorry. I completely forgot; I promised a colleague that I’d give him a quick call back about something after dinner tonight. Do you mind? I’ll only be a few minutes.”

  “That’s fine,” Jessa replied.

Just as he left the room, her cell phone began to ring.

“Hello?” she said as she answered the call.

“Jessa? It’s Nicki. Where are you?”

“I’m with Oliver Stone, at his office. He really wants to hire me.”

She was about to launch into how well the meeting had gone, along with the starting salary offer, when Nicki cut her off.

“Jessa, listen to me. Remember how I said that someone recommended you to Oliver?”

  “Yes.”

“Well, I know who it was. It was Jane.”

“Jane? Why would she do that? Is she just trying to get rid of me from the office or something?” she asked, confused.

“More than that. She set you up. She listened in on your call this morning, and then followed you to the restaurant that you were meeting Oliver at. She took a bunch of photos of you eating dinner with him and then showed them to Greg. She’s trying to convince him that you’re cheating on him with his arch-rival!”

Jessa’s heart sank. Oh no. And I was just asking Greg about Oliver Stone this morning, too. As if this whole thing wasn’t already suspicious enough. Nicki continued to speak, her tone urgent.

“Anyway, after he saw the pictures, he went storming off without a word. I’m sorry, Jessa, I shouldn’t have told you to keep anything from him. I guess it would have been better if you told him about the job offer.”

“It’s not your fault, Nicki,” Jessa replied.

She felt sick again as she ended the call, unable to believe just how low Jane could sink in order to get her away from Greg. Oh god… he must hate me right now. I need to explain everything to him as soon as I can.

A movement behind her startled her, and she turned and saw Oliver returning from his phone call.

“Everything alright?” he asked, seeing her pale face.

“Oh. Yes, it will be fine. I just had a disturbing phone call, that’s all.”

He studied her face with amusement for a moment, and then turned and closed the door. As he crossed the room and stood close to where she was sitting, Jessa suddenly felt uncomfortable. He was a little too close to her.

“So, Jessa… remember when I said that I wouldn’t bite?” he asked softly.

“Yes,” she replied, wondering what on earth he was going on about.

He bared his teeth to her, and two long white fangs popped out of his gums.

  “I lied,” he hissed.

He’s a vampire? Jessa was terrified. She had no idea that they even existed, but if werewolves did, then she supposed that it wasn’t too much of a stretch that vampires could too.

She leapt to her feet and tried to run, but Oliver stopped her, wrapping his strong arms around her and then dragging her back over to his desk as she kicked and screamed.

“Shh,” he murmured, sliding his palm over her mouth. “Everyone’s gone home, so no one will hear you screaming when I drink from you anyway.”

She moaned with horror and closed her eyes as he leaned over her neck, his fangs only inches from her soft skin. All of a sudden, there was a loud crashing sound, and he looked up at the door in shock, releasing her for a second. It was Greg.

A heavy pine scent filled the room, and right before their eyes, he began to transform. His green eyes glowed brightly, and his ears turned to points. His hands and feet became paws, and seconds later he was a powerful-looking wolf, snarling at the vampire. He lunged and pounced, tearing at Oliver with his claws and teeth, and just when Jessa was afraid that he may have killed him, he transformed back into his usual human self and scooped her up, hoisting her over his shoulder.

“That’s your one and only warning,” he growled as Oliver lay moaning on the floor. “Next time, I’ll kill you.”

Greg was silent as he carried Jessa out of the building, and she sobbed and clutched at his shirt. When they were on the street and next to his car, he set her down on her feet and glared down at her until his driver, Tom appeared.

“Where to now, Mr. Taylor?” he asked, taking in Jessa’s disheveled appearance as he opened the car door for her.

“Take us home,” Greg growled, before slamming the door shut and heading around to the other side.

He was still silent as Tom drove them back to his house, and hot tears rolled down Jessa’s cheek. She couldn’t believe what had just happened to her, and furthermore, she couldn’t believe that Greg had rescued her despite thinking that she was cheating on him with his arch-enemy.

Once they had reached his house, Greg carried her inside and placed her on the black leather sofa that sat in his front lounge room. Staring down at her for a minute, he pulled his shirt off and used it to gently wipe the tears from her face. When he was done, Jessa sniffed and tried to speak.

“Greg, please don’t be angry. Let me explain. Jane was lying… I would never have…”

He held up a hand and shushed her.

“I’m not angry. I could never be angry at you. I was scared. More scared than I have ever been in my life. And us werewolves don’t get scared very often,” he said, his voice as deep and masculine as ever.

Jessa stared up at him with wide eyes.

“Why were you scared?” she asked.

He sat down next to her and slid one hand over her knee, squeezing it gently.

“I was scared that I may have lost you. I know what Oliver Stone is, and I knew what he’d do to you if he ever got his hands on you. When you asked about him this morning… I had no idea that you were going to see him about a job. I should have known. I should have told you more, and stopped you.”

“You know that I wasn’t cheating on you, right?” she said tearfully.

“Of course. I know what Jane is like. In the car on my way to get you from Oliver’s building I called her and fired her. I would have done it the minute she showed me the photos, but I needed to leave immediately and come for you. If I’d gotten there only a few seconds later….”

  “What would he have done?”

“He would have drained you, just to get back at me for being better than him. He’s always hated me for being more successful, and I’m sure Jane would have told him all about you and me when she spoke to him.”

He sighed deeply, before looking straight into her eyes.

“Why didn’t you tell me that you were going out for an interview with him, Jessa?”

“I’m sorry,” she replied, casting her eyes to her lap in shame. “It sounded like such a good opportunity, and I thought you might be angry at me for leaving my job with you. So I thought that I should just see how the interview went, and if it went well, I’d tell you afterwards.”

“Why would I be angry with you?” Greg asked, gently grabbing her chin with one hand and pulling her face around to look at him. “Jessa, I support everything that you do, one hundred percent, and that includes your career. If you decided you wanted to take a job elsewhere, I wouldn’t have been angry. I would have been happy for you. I mean, you know that I’d love to take care of you, but you’re an independent girl, and I do respect that.”

“But you’ve been so strange lately,” she sa
id.

  “How so?”

“You’ve been really grumpy and distracted. I thought you were starting to get sick of me, or something like that. I really didn’t want to risk making you mad.”

His green eyes suddenly began to twinkle, and a smile crept across his face.

“Oh, Jessa. I’m sorry. You’re right; I have been distracted lately. But not because of anything you did. Well, actually, that’s not entirely true. It is because of something you did,” he said.

  “What did I do?”

He stood up and began to nervously pace the room.

“You came into my life and stole my heart, that’s what you did,” he said, reaching into his pocket. “I’ve been distracted for the last few weeks because I’ve been trying to figure out how to give you this.”

With that, he crouched down on one knee and presented her with a ring.

“I want to marry you. I suppose now is as good a time as any to ask you. I love you, Jessa.”

Jessa’s hand flew to her mouth.

“That’s why you’ve been so weird?”

“Yes. So…do you have an answer for me? You’re kind of leaving me hanging here,” he said.

  Jessa jumped up excitedly.

“Yes!” she cried. “I love you too!”

“Good,” he growled, before sliding the ring onto her finger and scooping her up in a tight hug. “I was getting worried that you didn’t.”

“Of course I do,” she said, her eyes shining with happiness.

Greg smiled and set her back down on the leather sofa, and then kneeled between her legs, lifting his face up to meet hers in a kiss. The kiss seemed to never end, and Jessa could feel her heart beating crazily. She reached out to pull him closer, and felt his heartbeat against her hand. His pulse was just as rapid as hers, and she was amazed at how well their bodies connected. It was as if they matched up perfectly in every way, and she felt electricity coursing through her veins as his tongue glided into her mouth, sensually entwining with hers and sending powerful shivers shooting down her spine.

As they kissed, he slid both of his hands up her thighs, moving ever-so-slowly up her skirt until they were hooked in either side of the waistband of her light pink underwear. Pulling back and staring straight into her eyes, he pulled them down over her thighs and threw them over the other side of the room, and then pushed her skirt up past her hips.

Jessa smiled and leaned back, allowing him to bury his head between her legs, and he nipped playfully at her inner thighs, making her gasp with a strange mixture of pain and pleasure. He looked up at her with a wicked expression on his face, and then settled his head back down, moving his warm mouth ever-closer to where she wanted him the most.

Spreading her legs even wider with a gentle nudge, he continued to lick and nibble her inner thighs, and every time his warm mouth descended on a different part of her, shivers shot up and down Jessa’s spine. His tongue began to trail along the sensitive line where her thighs met the area between her legs, and she threw her head back and sighed with anticipation.

He moved one hand between her thighs as he slid his tongue up and down her soft skin, and probed between her already-wet folds with delicate precision, lightly brushing up against her throbbing clitoris and making her squirm.

“Calm down,” he growled from between her legs, and the vibrations sent a tingling sensation spiraling through her entire body.

A loud moan escaped her mouth as he finally settled his mouth over her clitoris, and she struggled to hold herself down as he gently sucked and licked it before sliding his tongue up and down her warm folds in long, fluid movements. She couldn’t bear his teasing any longer, and ran her hands through his hair, pulling his head closer.

“Please!” she begged. “Do it faster!”

She felt him grin against her as he increased the speed that he was licking her with, and then gasped as he slid two fingers inside her warm tightness. She almost cried with relief as he drew little circles over her clitoris with his tongue, and then closed her eyes, savoring each and every second of his treatment.

Her mind was soon filled with nothing but desire for the werewolf between her thighs, and he murmured something as he slowly pumped the fingers in and out of her. The vibrations from his mouth sent shockwaves spiraling through her body again, and she realized that she was already close to reaching pure bliss.

Her heart was still beating crazily as she began to move her hips up and down against his mouth, and seconds later she was coming, gasping and sighing with wanton delight as Greg continued to lap at her folds. Finally, he came up for air and grinned before leaning in to kiss her. She could taste herself on him, as he pressed his lips to hers, and moaned softly, still not entirely fulfilled.

“I want more,” she whispered urgently once he had broken away.

His eyes began to glow a bright green, and he gripped her face in both hands as he stared at her.

“You make a lot of demands,” he growled. “You’re lucky that I love it when you do that.”

“Why am I lucky? What would you do if you didn’t like it?” she asked, teasing him.

“I would throw you over my shoulder, carry you into my room and have my way with you. On second thoughts… I don’t like you making demands. You’re coming with me, young lady!”

With that, he threw her over his shoulder again, and Jessa giggled as he carried her into the bedroom, feeling a sense of déjà vu as she realized he had done the exact same thing this morning after their breakfast.

Once he had thrown her down on the bed, he unzipped his pants and pounced on her, pinning her down and positioning himself so that his groin was rubbing right against her still-sensitive clitoris as he began to grind himself against her. She moaned softly, and he pressed himself against her slick entrance, grunting with pleasure as he pushed inside her, feeling her tight warmth swallowing him up.

“Oh god,” she whispered. “Do it hard and fast, and don’t stop!”

Greg leaned down, slid his mouth over her ear and then held her down as she tried to arch her back to meet him.

“You’re being very bad, making all these demands of me. Don’t you know that I’m your boss?” he growled, nipping at her earlobes.

“Yes… I’m sorry,” she murmured, not meaning a word of her apology.

He growled again, and then pulled out of her. Jessa whined in frustration, and he grinned at her, his eyes twinkling.

“You seem to think that you’re in charge here. Go on, show me,” he said before rolling onto his back.

Jessa climbed on top of him and raised her hips before lowering herself back down on him, sighing with delight as he filled her again. His eyes darkened with pleasure beneath her, and he groaned softly as she began to bounce herself up and down, raking her nails through the patch of dark hair on his muscular chest as she did so.

As she gained momentum, she leaned back and placed her hands on his shins to steady herself, and Greg slid one arm around her hips, holding her as she bounced on him. His other hand moved slowly down from her breasts to between her legs, and he rubbed the pad of his thumb over her clitoris, watching her face as she began to breathe faster. Moments later, he began to move his hips in a circular motion, and Jessa felt fireworks going off everywhere in her body.

Gasping with pleasure as the warm waves of ecstasy crashed over her, she collapsed forward onto his chest, and powerful contractions continued to shake her to her very core. Greg’s eyes blazed, and he held her hips, rocking her back and forth until he was overtaken by his own pleasure. Groaning loudly, he came, spurting his seed deep within her, and the two lovers lay in each other’s arms for several silent minutes, neither able to say a word as they caught their breath.

A week later, Greg was sitting in his office when Jessa burst in.

  “What’s wrong?” he asked.

“Sit down. I have to tell you something,” she said nervously.

“I am sitting down,” he said, grinning.
“What is it?”

“Well… you know how I’ve been feeling nauseated on and off for the last week or so?” she replied.

The grin on his face grew wider as he realized what she was getting at, and he leapt to his feet.

  “You’re pregnant?”

“Yes,” she said. “I just took a test in the bathroom. I was starting to feel sicker and sicker, and now we know why.”

“I’m sorry,” he said, getting up and wrapping his strong arms around her. “It’s my fault.”

“No, it isn’t,” she said. “I was there too, you know… when we made this baby.”

“Well, morning sickness is often worse with multiple pregnancies. That’s what I meant when I said it was my fault,” he said.

Jessa drew her head back in shock.

  “What?”

“Werewolf pregnancies are always twins. Sometimes triplets. Did I forget to mention that?” he said.

“Yes!” Jessa said, unable to believe what she was hearing.

Greg grinned, dropped to his feet and kissed her stomach.

“Well, I did tell you that you would bear my children. Sorry. I should have told you that it would all be at once. Is that okay?” he asked, rising up to his feet again.

“Yes, but only because it’s you,” she said, poking him in the chest. “They’ll all be wolves, like you?”

  “Yes.”

Jessa tilted her head up and kissed her new fiancé, still unable to believe just how much her life had changed in the last few months. Everything was perfect now, for the both of them. Greg had his mate, and Jessa had him… and soon, they would be joined by a set of baby werewolves. Things couldn’t be any better.

“I love you,” she said, once he had broken away from the kiss,

“I love you too,” he murmured. “Always.”

  Werewolves Prefer Curves

Cerie Morgan’s short, silky blonde curls bounced on her neck as she jogged along the dirt track in the forest with her sister, Hayley. They shared a house that was on the other side of the woods, and the two sisters would often go for long walks together through the area. Today, fitness-freak Hayley had insisted that they run instead of walk. It was peaceful and idyllic… at least for Hayley, anyway. For Cerie, it was pure torture.
