Such a feat, it seemed, was beyond the power even of an immortal. Instead, when she whirled and stalked back toward her Wolves, roaring, the knuckles of her right hand and the stone behind her were smeared with blood. Her course put Nausis directly in her path. Too late he realized she did not intend to stop. Even as he tried to step aside, the warrior-priestess planted palms on his breastplate and shoved, sending him to the ground. Fortunately, that was the end of her attentions. While Nausis scrambled upright, she strode past, proceeding another several steps before putting her back upon a flat boulder and sinking against it with breath hissing through clenched teeth, black eyes wild.
Her Wolves gathering round her on the desolate mountain, all hope lost, the deathless enforcer of House Styphonides sobbed.
